I was devastated by this book. It had so much potential and had me all excited and then.........and then...........(starts crying), I just can't say it yet, go on and read my review.

William, Viscount Wivenly, is determined to remain a bachelor for the rest of his life. His elusiveness is what makes him even more irresistible to woman and William finds himself caught in many a scheme to trap him into marriage from the young ladies of the ton as well as their mother's.

Finding a way to get escape from it all in the form of a task bestowed on him by his father, William sets off to the West Indies to solve the problem that seems to be plaguing a member of the family. Once that task is down, William intends to fully sample the local wares, and I don't mean the food.

Determined to help her family despite what her mother says, Miss Eugenie Villaret will stop at nothing to get to the bottom of her family's financial problems. Enlisting the help of her childhood friend, Eugenie breaks into her dead step-father's company to get some answers, but before she can learn anything, she was caught by none other than William and his companion.

The two of them instantly hit it off and it was love at first sight. Oh, I'm not talking about William and Eugenie, I'm talking about her friend and his companion. William and Eugenie rubbed each other the wrong way, seeing as how William wants to get under her skirts and Eugenie wants to get as far away as possible from him before he figures out who she is.

As fate would have it, an incident, that is all William's fault, had forced them to be married and before you start thinking, but that's his family, don't. Eugenie was her mother's child from a previous marriage, so no harm done.

Things don't go as plan since Eugenie refuses to marry William and William not accustom
to women telling him no, has to do something he never had to do before, seduce a woman.

+Ella Quinn had such a good idea, but it fell flat. In the beginning we found Eugenie saving an infant slave from a bad fate and in the rest of the book, nothing. Opened the book with an amazing beginning and fell through in the rest of the book, that's false advertising.

Another issue I had was with the switching from one person's point of view to the next. In the copy I received, their was no clear indicators stating that I was moving from one person to the next. One minute I'm reading William's story and then BAM, I reading another part of the story that is happening in a different part of the island. I mean come on, some separates would have been nice.

This book was just a big disappointment, I did not connect with the characters and all the love words that were shared at each interval of the book at me rolling on eyes on more than one occasion. "Oh, my love" and "Yes my darling" was too much.

All conflicts were easily resolved and everybody had a happy ever after. Great idea, poor execution. If you doubt my words, read the book and see for yourself.

4 Stars! Previously released in August 2014, this is the 5th book in ‘The Marriage Game’ series and can be read as a standalone. I liked this book a lot since it was not like the usual regency romances I’ve read and is based on the island of St.Thomas in the Danish West Indies. The main male character was William, Viscount Wivenly and in the beginning, I really disliked him. He was an arrogant, entitled, jerk who acted based on the head in his pants instead of the head on his shoulders. Thankfully he get better throughout the book. I liked the main female character, Eugenie, especially when she refuses to marry Will. The secondary characters, the main characters best friends, Andrew and Cicely, get a love story too and they had a love at first sight story, basically the opposite of Will & Eugenie. With an evil uncle trying to kidnap Eugenie and William trying to woo her, a few ‘sexy times’ scenes and issues that worked themselves out pretty easily all ending in a HEA ending for almost everyone. All in all, an entertaining read.

William, Viscount Wivenly, sails with his best friend, Andrew Grayson, to St. Thomas to take care of family business. It's a relief to get away from all the young ladies in England trying to trap him into marriage. Miss Eugenie Vallaret and her mother are trying to manage their import-export business without her step-father, Nathan Wivenly. His ship was attacked by pirates who murdered him and his crew. Will is infatuated with the lady, but everytime he approaches the lady it ends in disaster. He must change tactics and woo the lady. As a plot that involves the business and Eugenie unfolds, Will has promised to protect her at any cost. This book may inspire you to sail to St. Thomas. Descriptive sex.

Set in the West Indies, William (Viscount Wivenly) has been sent to check on his fathers business. He doesn’t share who he is wanting to investigate quietly. He meets Miss Eugenie Villaret out in the evening and for some reason assumes she is a young widow and presses some advances. Later when all is revealed for honor's sake he proposes marriage. In an oddity they are actually cousins but not by blood. She is actually rather young and naive. She didn’t mind his kiss but has no plans to wed. He decides to woo her.

This is the kind of story I usually easily enjoy. Instead William is pompously annoying, although he improves over time. His thoughts and treatment of women in the beginning may be historically accurate but not something I want for a love interest. And everything is rather instant lust or instant attraction. The author brings in interesting bits about the Islands. I especially liked that simple things like ages when you could wed varied based on which country claimed the island. Slave laws differ too. I did like Eugenie, but of course I love strong women.

This is the fifth book in a The Marriage Game series but can be read as a standalone. I’ve read the previous book in the series. It was first published in August 2014.

Meh. This was awkward and weird. I never connected with the characters and certainly didn't care what happened to any of them. The dialogue was awful - it's a wonder that any of them managed to get their point across at all.

It's a case of let's use ALL THE TROPES. Sadly, none of them work here.

Happy to leave London and its title hunting ladies, William, Viscount Wivenly, and his best friend Andrew set sail for the West Indies. They’re to investigate the conflicting reports Will’s father, the Earl of Watford, received concerning his late nephew’s company.
Eligible, entitled and wealthy, Will is determined to never live under the cat’s paw - a marriage will happen on his terms, and without all those stifling emotions. That is until he runs into a breathtaking young lady… and when their paths cross once more a few nights later, he can’t help but kiss her.

Refusing to believe her late stepfather’s businessman about how poorly the company is doing, Eugenie Villaret sets out to discover the truth for herself with the help of her best friend Cecilia.
Eugenie never considered any suitors until she accidentally runs into a handsome stranger on the street. When said stranger turns up in her father’s office a few nights later while the ladies are investigating, sparks fly. But then he makes the mistake of underestimating her… she refuses to fall for his charming smiles and arrogance.
The man who wants to earn her heart will have to do the work!

In come Eugenia’s conniving uncles on her father’s side and their plan to claim her. Add Nathan Wivenly regaining his strength on another island, a risky escape plan, an attempt at kidnapping, wedding plans, the search for a priest and a turbulent sailing trip…
Yes, the start may be slow, but once they get going it’s one hell of a ride!

⭐⭐⭐⭐
A nice enemies to friends to lovers romance, he falls first and he falls hard even though he doesn’t realise it. She’s a bit more reserved and careful with her heart.
Will is a complete blockhead (and somewhat of an arse) when it comes to Eugenie - lucky for him he has some reliable allies knocking sense into him - and stubborn but thoughtful Eugenie knows her worth - nothing but respect for this lady! She may be innocent, but she isn’t too shy to teach him the meaning of the word “no”.
Family sticking together is the heart of this story and the colourful cast of side-characters surrounding the MCs add an interesting dynamic. Their friendships feel honest and true, and are very entertaining as there’s some excellent dry wit in this tale.

This was a fun and adventurous page-turner with beautiful character development and some nice steam. There are different subplots happening at the same time, so the beginning is a bit confusing. As the story advances they start to intertwine leading to a thrilling climax before the HEA.
(the epilogue was a bit ‘bleh’ for me)
I enjoyed this book very much and would gladly recommend it!

FYI it was first published in 2014 and handles issues like slavery and colonialism

William, Viscount Wivenly, or Will, tired of having women trying to trap him into marriage, decides to go to the West Indies to investigate his uncle's shipping business. He has been getting conflicting reports on how much the company is actually earning. Knowing next to nothing about shipping, he brings his friend Andrew, since he is involved with his family's shipping company. Eugénie, whose stepfather ran the offices before he was killed when pirates captured his ship, is convinced the new manager is lying when he claims the business has started losing money. She decides to sneak into the offices at night to search for proof, and brings along her best friend Cecily, who happens to know about the business as well. All four come together since Will and Andrew have the same plan. Then, the story becomes one with intrigue, murder, mystery, romance, and surprises along the way.
Here we get two for the price of one!\The story is different from most Regency romance novels I have read. There are two romances, and each has their own separate point of view. While Andrew and Cecily are secondary characters, there is depth to their own story. It runs its course at the same time as Andrew and Eugénie, but theirs is instant love. There is a vivid, but tastefully written intimate scene. i haven't read a novel that revolved another couple as well as the main couple. Cecily and Andrew are a sweet couple, and their story moves really quickly. Most of their story is them trying to find the pastor to marry them because her mother demands the wedding she wants, and ignores Cecily's wishes.
Will spends most of his time trying to woo Eugénie after he proposes since she doesn't believe he actually wants to marry her. There is a mystery about her, but she isn't aware of it because her family never thought the past would come to haunt them. I would have thought the same way if it happened to me. So, it's not far fetched.
Eugénie is a bit confusing as a character. She is known as a person who saves children from being sold into slavery after their parents are taken away from them. This is supposed to be an important part of her story and character. However, there were only two instances where it is mentioned or discussed, and she doesn't really talk about it with Will, although he was already aware of what her family was doing. I'm not sure why he would have known, since his uncle didn't really discuss the business with him. The first time she does anything is in the beginning, and I had to go back to read it to understand its meaning. She was seen rescuing a child, and chased when she ran from them. They kept coming for her even after she hid the child. I did not even realize people were trying to abduct her until later in the novel.
I also felt there were three or four different plots within the story. While I will not spoil the plot, one or two of them could have been written as one, and been much better. The back and forth between all of them had me going back and forth as well, to make sure I was focusing on the right one.
The romance was sweet, and it was nice to see how Will and Eugénie came together as a couple. She does not think he wants to marry her, and he is trying to convince he does. Luckily for him, Andrew and Cecily are very helpful. The sidebar story of Will and the lady who grew the flowers on the island helped it even more. I enjoyed her involvement.
While I did enjoy everyone's stories, I do not think I will read this one again. However, it does hint at a future novel, and I will read that one. The style of writing is comfortable, even when I got lost within the plots.
This is the 5th in the "Marriage Game" series, it can be read as a stand alone. The previous characters are mentioned as a side note, and do not interfere with the story. You do get to meet them in the epilogue. (Not a spoiler)
There are a few somewhat graphic intimate scenes. They are short, and well written,. Some of the details are skipped as they are not needed.
I would recommend this to adults.

I am so happy to get to back to reading the Marriage Game series.

William Viscount Wivenly is set in his was as a bachelor and he have no intentions of changing his status, no better way to do so than taking a trip to escape the pressure. Unknown to William his life is about to take a turn.
Eugenie the eldest of four girls, all borne on the Island of St. Thomas. Eugenie has seen a lot in her young life, she helps the people in need. Now Eugenie needs help, her virtue is in jeopardy by no other than Viscount Will Wivenly himself as well as her life.

Will and Eugenie did not know what they wanted to do to each other at first. Throttle each other or find out the depth of the passion that was simmering around them. The battle of wits between them was quite enjoyable. Will possesses charm, but can that be enough to capture Eugenie’s trust? Eugenie is a innocent, and is truly drawn to Will. Can Eugenie resist Viscount Wiveny’s charm or will they both give into what they both want…each other.

Talk about charming, intriguing and fun is the supporting characters. They are very remember able. Ella Quinn brought out the Rakes and their families in Enticing Miss Eugenie Villaret I enjoy reading up on them. The question I have is who in next in the The Marriage Game Series. I think it should be Kit, there is a man who needs his world tilted on it axles. *Grins

In true Ella Quinn style the era, wardrobe and scenery are described in amazing detail. Is there anything better than taking a trip back in time through the pages of a book to discover a world full of intrigue, the Ton and Pirates. I don’t think so.

William, Viscount Wivenly, plans to remain the most eligible of bachelors. Fleeing the pressure of the ton, he’s bent on finding refuge in the West Indies. What he finds instead is a fascinating stranger, a woman so unlike those of his society that he can’t resist such a beguiling distraction. Determined to let nothing complicate her mission to protect her family’s livelihood while covertly rescuing orphaned slave children, Miss Eugénie Villaret does her best to evade suitors. Until she meets William
The fifth book in the series & whilst it could be read on its own the author’s characters live in the same world so make appearances in her other books, which I personally love. I loved both Will & Eugenie & thoroughly enjoyed their enemies to friends to lovers story. The story starts slowly as it sets the scene but then the pace starts to increase & I was hooked. Plus there’s also a secondary romance. It was different to the other books in the series, which was refreshing

This is a great book but I started my fix with Ella Quinn in The Most Eligible Lord in London which is about Will sister so i had high hope for this one. This book was amazingly written, the H & h weren't bad though I wanted to read more about Andrew and Cicely, the story is good,

There are times when I like a domineering hero in romance. Sherrilyn Kenyon, J.R. Ward, and Celeste Bradley are very good at writing the "asshole turned nice guy" type of character. I never feel like I want to chew them up and spit them out. William, on the other hand, is the kind of character I'd dearly love to give a hard kick in the balls. He is a cad and treats women, especially Eugenie, like crap. I hated him. Even after the turning point I never fully liked him or believed that he could so easily change his behavior.

The plot meandered along at a slow pace and there were times when I had no idea why a certain scene was included in the book because it had no importance to the storyline. I got very bored with it.

Because I had a hard time keeping interested in this book, I probably wouldn't recommend it to anyone. It just wasn't for me and I'd think twice about picking up any other books from this series.

This the fifth installment of the Marriage Game Series. William, Viscount Wivenly is the Ton's ladies man. He was being chase from one end to other by the ton's debutantes. Will planned to escape to the West Indies to get away from them. Miss Eugénie Villaret de Joyeuse is frustrated and trying her best for figure out why her stepfather's business is failing when she knows the business is doing well. Eugenie decides to take matters in her hands and end up in William's arms. This book has a different feel from the others books in the series and that is not a bad thing. It is just different in a good way. I love how Ms. Ella Quinn writes about strong heroines who are smart and know how to defend themselves. I received a complimentary copy from the publisher thru NetGalley for an honest review.

This is the fifth book in Ella Quinn’s The Marriage Game series [The Seduction of Lady Phoebe; The Secret Life of Miss Anna Marsh; The Temptation of Lady Serena; Desiring Lady Caro; Enticing Miss Eugenie Villaret] and out of all five, my least favorite.

I really wanted to love this story as much as I loved the one right before it [Desiring Lady Caro], but something just didn’t click with me in this one.

William was someone I didn’t like from the start, but I ... thanks for jumping to b2b to finish reading my review ...

I did a double-take at the first line of the epilogue, in which the date is February 1917. Big typo fail! The novel actually takes place in 1816 in the Caribbean. The most interesting thing about this one is learning the disparity in the laws regarding slavery, marriage, etc. between islands that are within a few hours sailing distance from each other, due to the many different countries then governing said islands. The actual romance is not awe-inspiring, although the heroine is fairly interesting. The hero, not so much.

Review Copy from the Publisher
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Enticing Miss Eugénie Villaret is the 5th volume in The marriage game series by Ella Quinn. It was first published in ebook in 2014 and it will hit the shelves in paperback on October 24, 2023. That’s why I had the opportunity to review the book.
I discovered the author last year with The Worthington series in French, and I loved the two books published by J’ai Lu (I’m still waiting the translation of the other books). It included everything I love to read nowadays in a romance novel : instalove, hero determined to seduce the heroine and a heroine who doesn’t let herself be pushed around especially if the hero behaves badly, and that’s the case in this book.

The book tells the story of William, Viscount Wivenly, who flees London and the husband-hunting ladies, and Eugénie Villaret, whose French mother moved in Jamaica then in St Thomas, an island situated in the Danish West Indies. The story takes place in 1816, a few years after the Danish approved the abolition of slavery. It’s an important element in the story as it’s one of the cause of the conflicts between the heroes plus their relatives and the villains in the book.

At the beginning of the book, we learn that Eugénie’s step-father, who is from London, died at sea a few months ago. He owned a import-export business which since has been run by a manager. However, the latter told Eugénie’s mother that the company had begun to fail. So she sent a letter to her step-father’s nephew, who is none other than William. In the letter, she requests his assistance.
As for William, he has two versions of events : his uncle’s wife says that the company is failing and the manager says that everything’s fine. So he decides to take advantage of his « escape » to untangle this situation.

The encounter between the heroes takes place in three steps : the first one is a visual one, the second one is a real encounter but a case of mistaken identity and the last one is the official encounter. At each step, the reader knows that they are attracted to each other but, because of a misunderstanding, William will have to make amends in order to obtain Eugénie’s favours.
In addition to their love story, the author tells the one of Eugénie’s best friend and William’s best friend.
There is also some suspense due to the heroine’s French family, and there is a twist.

On the whole, I liked this book a lot, yet, it was not easy at first because of the text. Indeed, the author uses some French words to show the heroine’s origins. I didn’t find that very natural. I got used to it particularly because the story was interesting. Then there was the case of mistaken identity and I was afraid that it would take a lot of place in the book. I must say, I don’t like this plot in the books I read. In the end, Ella Quinn managed it well.

Our heroes are surrounded by some very nice members of their family and friends. Some of them already have their books, others have some potential. I haven’t read the other books in the series yet but I haven’t been bothered by it. I will certainly read them sometime in the future.

To conclude, I recommend Enticing Miss Eugénie Villaret for those who want a light read.

**Trigger Warnings Below**

Heroine: Eugénie Villaret de Joyeuse, 21. Resides in the West Indies and is the daughter of a French woman. Her deceased stepfather was English and the great-uncle of the hero.

Hero: William Munford, 31. Nickname: Will. Viscount Wivenly and heir to the Earl of Watford. A confirmed bachelor.

Date: 1816 (epilogue = 1817, 1917 is misprint)

How they meet: Will travels to the West Indies to check on his late great-uncle’s business on behalf of his father. He and Eugénie first meet on the street, but neither realize their family connection. Will has decided to keep quiet about his title and connection to Eugénie’s family so he can quietly investigate what is going on. His great-aunt (Eugénie’s mother) has told his father that their once thriving business is now struggling and he wants to figure out why.

What happens: Eugénie and Will have independently decided to sneak into the business offices to look at the books as both have suspected that the manager is not being straight with them. Eugénie and her friend arrive first, and later Will and his friend find them there. They find proof that the manager has been lying to them--the business is in fact doing very well. Will is instantly attracted to Eugénie. Based on her clothing and a few other things, he assumes she is a widow and not well-to-do, and he is determined to make her his mistress. Not knowing her true identity, he does not treat her with the respect he should.

Trigger Warnings:

Verdict: While the author did a good job interweaving the parts of this complex story, I just did not like the hero or heroine. He was particularly unlikable in how he disrespected the heroine as a woman, before he knew who she was. She was understandably cautious about him, but then as soon as he said the magic words she lost all rational thought. The book went from insta-lust to insta-love and neither of those scenarios really work for me. I also felt that their hot-and-heavy physical relationship was out of character for the heroine (although totally on-brand for the hero). This story lacked some of the humor found in other books by this author, which was another strike against it. I really enjoyed most of the other books in this series, but this one was a fail for me. It can easily be read as a standalone even though some characters from previous books were mentioned.

Steam-level: steamy and explicit

Rating: 3 stars (2 stars based on the romance, but bumped up to 3 for quality of the writing).

I received a copy from NetGalley; this is my honest review
-The most captivating story so far in the series; it's about time. Pirates, kidnapping, mysteries, suspense, romance, and starting at 75% many - too many, like 15-20 - bedroom scenes which is why I'm only giving 4 stars. It did not add anything, except to show us that people can't even wait a week!
-There's a romance between William and Eugenie, then there's another one with Andrew, his BFF, and Cicely, her BFF. There might be one also between Marisole and Tidwell.
-The lovely conversation Cicely and Eugenie had concerning poor relations was hilarious; they had a lot of misconceptions of life in England.
-As soon as Andrew's response to William was "tomorrow night" you just knew it was going to be fun. The ladies were going to be there too!
-At first I thought William's actions towards Eugenie, like he had to follow her everywhere, were a bit irrational and not in a good way. But at other times, I didn't like how Eugenie was treating William, especially in front of everyone. She was also looking at every excuses not to marry him and she didn't even know him (for ex., which causes he would support).
-I was a bit confused as to why William would ask Andrew about what he found out in the diary since he was the one to read it after Eugenie passed it to him in her father's office.
-It was entirely funny when William was given rum by Smithwick and he toasted to farming. I died right there. They were doing the books.
-The relation between Cicely and Andrew is sweet and funny, especially when they wrote notes to each other all day. I do not wish Mrs. Whitecliff on anyone.
-I'm not sure who Grace and baby Gideon are; they appeared in the epilogue.
-Editing: wrong word, missing word, too many words, switching from brandy to cognac and vice-versa.

The bachelors are falling one by one. This delightful series pits men who are desperately trying to avoid marriage, despite their obligations to do so and the women who finally catch their interest. But these women aren't so interested in marriage either, so the men will have to work to get their HEA. This book has intrique, pirates, kidnappers, a hurricane at sea and two romances. Very exciting, but also lively banter and some very funny situations.

William, Viscount Wivenly, has women conniving to have him put in a compromising position to force a marriage. Not that they really know or care about him, though he is quite handsome, but they are only interested in his title. He escapes to the West Indies, with his best friend, Andrew Grayson, son of a shipping magnate, seemingly to discover what is happening with his uncle's business. His uncle's ship was captured by pirates and the crew murdered. His widow has written to his father that the business is failing, while the business manager claims it is prosperous. Right off the ship, Will and Andrew go undercover and meet two lovely ladies, Eugenie Villaret and Cicely Whitecliff. Instant chemistry for both couples, but while Andrew sets out to woe Cicely, Will doesn't realize that the woman who has caught his eye is his step-cousin, but thinks that she is a widow to bed, not an innocent. She makes him pay for that mistake.

Enticing Miss Eugenie Villaret is the fifth book in The Marriage Game series.

William, Viscount Wivenly has no plans to get caught in any young womans marriage plans. He escapes to the West Indies in order to see if he can rescue his aunt and family from a reported failing business after his uncle has died.

Miss Eugénie Villaret is determined to protect her family’s livelihood while covertly rescuing orphaned slave children. She has also managed to avoid any suitor that looks her way. She plots with her friend Cecily to sneak into her family's business in order to take a look at the books to see how much trouble the business is in.

After arriving William and his friend Andrew decide to check the Wivenly business to have a look at the books only he encounters what he believes is to be the widow Wivenly who he finds extremely attractive. But when William realizes he has compromised Eugenie he offers to marry her.

A long-lost relative has concocted a plan to kidnap Eugenie in order to save their family from financial ruin. Will William marry Eugenie before it is too late.

This is a lighthearted and entertaining romance. Two people that stubbornly refuse to marry fall in love, but it is not an easy romance. William has to work very hard to court Eugenie which is something he has never had to do before, and he makes a lot of mistakes before he gets it right.

I was excited about this book, the cover is wonderful, the description grabbed my attention right away, the change of scenery from the usual ballrooms of London and the ton was really interesting, I was really looking forward to the story.
It starts great with Eugenie rescuing a baby and her covert involvement with the saving of these orphans who would surely end up living the lives of a slave on the Danish owned island they resided on. But after that it took a bad turn and became pretty disjointed. The characters didn't fit, the instant love between the two secondary characters was unbelievable and distracted from the main character's story. There were too many sub-stories going on, too many distractions to the main plot-line. Also William, Viscount Waverly comes across as spoiled, selfish, domineering, arrogant and self-serving. That he even for a moment mistakenly thought Eugenie was a widow, ripe for seducing was totally implausible. I am sorry he was completely unlikeable although the writer did try to redeem him later in the book, but for me it was too late the damage was done.
Sorry only 2 stars and I do not recommend. There are so many really good books out there right now, why waste time on one that just isn't up to par?

Such a surprise novel. I don’t always like reading historical romances set into the colonies and islands, but this one novel was so interesting that I read it all. I found it reminded me a lot of the old fashioned “bodice rippers” of the past. The novel has Viscount Wivenly, William sent by his father to identify what is happening to a family member who seems to be frantic about her husband’s business and her concern for her family.

Meanwhile, Eugenie is suspicious about her mother’s man of business. She does not believe that their company is struggling. She and her best friend break into the offices to check out the books. At the same time William and his best friend also break into the company offices to find the truth about the company. They both surprise each other and form an uneasy alliance to find the truth. However, William does not know that Eugenie is a lady and his uncle’s step daughter. He mistakes her for a “questionable” type and treats her poorly.

The novel twists and turns from there between Eugenie and William and various nefarious characters. Eugenie and William will both need a serious change of heart, learn to trust and share information that will allow this mystery of the business to be resolved. Enticing Miss Eugenie Villaret by Ella Quinn was a fun read.

Will is send to help with his late uncle shipping business but before he can introduce to them he must make some investigation of his own.

Eugenie is trying to help her mother who is devastated after her father's death, when a man is sniffing around their business she take is upon herself to find out the true situation about their finances.

When those two meet they don't know each other identity which leads to some misunderstandings, like Will thinking Eugenie is a widow he can have a few night of fun with.

The shock comes when he realized that the woman he kissed is his uncle daughter and he has to offer for her.

I liked the beginning of this one but somewhere along the way it got me lost. The books has two romance in it, the main couple and the one about their best friends'.

I didn't like how Will went from 0 to 60, he was a bachelor who never wanted to marry and then he does, but nothing had actually happened to make him change his mind. Eugenie didn't like the way he behaved but she was all to happy to agree with him, she barely even made him sweat it, he should have grovel.

The story has some twists along the way and a mystery but I wasn't terrible invested into it.

William, Viscount Wivenly, is determined to avoid the marriage trap, even if it means he has to find refuge in the West Indies. What he doesn’t expect to find is Miss Eugénie Villaret, a woman who fascinates him like no other. Miss Eugénie is determined to let nothing complicate her mission to protect her family’s livelihood while covertly rescuing orphaned slave children. Yet when Eugénie and William are together, both are determined to prove their point.
A fun read, with plenty of punch at the start. Eugénie, in particular is a likeable character whilst Will, can be quite obnoxious. I found Eugénie’s attitude quite refreshing when lined up against Will, and her determination to prove herself.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book from NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Enticing Miss Eugenie Villaret by Ella Quinn is an intriguing tale about a young woman who is educated and eager to do good for those less fortunate than herself. She is resourceful and caring as well as daring. I loved watching Eugenie develop her passionate side. William needed to find a purpose in life that was different from what he was used to. The ease of his life was boring to him, and he sought to find something that would challenge him on all levels. Eugenie and William together were well matched in intelligence and passion. I enjoyed watching their banter and seeing them grow closer. Secondary characters were amusing and brought out the best in them for the most part. I enjoyed the descriptions of the islands and wished that I was on a ship sailing there.

Reviewing this after I have read 5 books in this series. In each of them the handsome hero pursues the very beautiful heroine.
This one feels a slightly different version of The Temptation of Lady Serena, as William comes across almost as much of a jerk as Beaumont (Robert), and hence I rate it the same.
Good for one-time read, but doesn't go into my favorites for the simple reason that it is all about the man falling in love with a beautiful woman. Beauty still holds the trumps in these "Marriage Games".

This is the first book of the The marriage game series that I read and love it. Even thought, its the.fifth book of the series I was able to read it as a stand-alone book, although I’m quite sure that those who read the series in order probably enjoyed it even more.
Here in this story, you’ll find a young women trying to survive a situation created by the men in her family who were supposed to protect her while living in an era where slavery is still debated by different countries and women had no rights.
It was interesting to learn the difference between the French, English and Dutch islands and they way they lived at that time.
Hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

I enjoyed the spying part of the story. I love that the characters trekked across India Europe and England to capture the evil villains who thought to destroy companies and place young children out on the market. The book was an okay book to read. I’m sure that the readers will find it more of a cozy read. I will say that the heroines age could be older than twenty one when her love interest is thirty one. Eugenie could be more of a mature age at twenty four or older. This age would be more fitting for the romantic aspects in the book. As a reader imagining someone younger than twenty four is to close to a young child. Until next time my fellow readers read on!
