A new life, a brutal awakening the dark side to Apres- ski. When reality and insanity go hand in hand. Prepare to have your mind distorted. Jules thought a new career at a luxury ski resort would be the perfect way to escape the ghosts of her past. Desperate for a fresh start and lured by the promise of travel and new beginnings, she embraces the opportunity with open arms. But beneath the pristine snow and cozy fireplaces, lies a darkness she could never have envisioned. When strange disappearances start to shatter the resort’s idyllic facade, Jules realizes the danger lurking around her is far deadlier than she ever imagined. The voice in her head, once her greatest tormentor, becomes her only ally and co-conspirator as the line between reality and insanity blurs. With every new disappearance, her hope and resolve begin to disintegrate. As she teeters on the edge of sanity, Jules is forced to confront the demons that have haunted her nightmares, only to find that reality may be even more terrifying. Determined to uncover the truth and stop the bloodshed, she encounters a mysterious stranger who seems to hold the key to her redemption, but can he be trusted. Trust is as fragile as the ice beneath her feet. In a place where the stakes are as high as the mountain peaks, Jules must face the demons of her past before they claim her as their next victim. But in a world where nothing is as it seems, can she trust anyone, even herself, in this deadly fight for survival?
Roxy Rich writes psychological thrillers that will mess with your head, in the best possible way. Loosely based on true events (because real life is often more twisted than fiction), her stories take a deep dive into social injustices, especially those faced by women. Expect grit, heart, and the kind of realism that makes you wonder just how close to the truth she’s really getting.
While most of her work explores the raw and often brutal realities of human behaviour, Roxy occasionally veers off into darkly sarcastic tales about serial killers. You know, for balance.
She lives in the wilds of Somerset where she home educates her kids, writes brutally honest fiction, and dreams of salt water and gills, because she’s pretty sure she was a mermaid in a past life. When she’s not writing, you’ll find her swimming, chasing sea breezes, or side-eyeing society's hypocrisy like it just spilled red wine on her white carpet.
If you like your thrillers bold, smart, and laced with a wicked edge of truth, Roxy Rich is your next favourite author. Dive in, just don’t expect to come up for air anytime soon.
Tainted has to be my favorite in the series by far!!!! The plot was so suspenseful. I can't wrap my head around the things that were happening! A ski resort, where a competition is held and the winners go missing. In the basement, there are sacrifices being done and occult meetings take place. Also in the basement, experiments being done on humans. This book had everything! I can't stop thinking about Adam and who his parents were and what they did to him and his brother. The guilt he's going to live with. And poor Jules. She had a pretty rough life and thought that this was her way in at an easier life. Also... after the first two books and most of this one, I was for sure thinking men are horrible and there's not a single good one. But then Zander shows up and redeems men. Amazing job on this one Roxy R. This one is definitely a must read. I can't wait for more!!
Omw Roxy these books get better and better as I continue to read through this series.. This novel has been fast pace excellent storyline and twists you don't see coming til you're faced with them. I felt sorry for Jules having to face her nightmares that's plagued her mind. The trust she thought she had disappears like standing in quick sand. Jules is determined to find the truth if not for the victims, then for her own peace of mind. Who is the best person to depend upon but one's self. This way brilliantly written and a must read. I'm dying to read book 4. I know Roxy won't disappoint us. I would love to see this series on the big screen that's how amazing it is.

Jules has had a very difficult life and doing all she can just to survive. Even though her job is degrading, it’s comfort because it’s the only life she has ever known. However, when she is offered a once in a lifetime opportunity to live a life free of struggle she can’t help but accept it. But is it really all that it seems or is it really too good to be true?? I enjoyed the plot of this book and the characters involved. It did have some twists that I enjoyed. I had a hard time with the repetitiveness in the book, especially in the beginning. I didn’t think it was necessary to have to remind readers of the backstory multiple times. It was overall a good book!
Oh, poor Jules. She hasn't had an easy life, and it's not getting any better for her. The characters were nicely invented, the race exciting. In the beginning I had to get used to the writing style, a lot of lists or a lot of repetition, but then in different words. Personally I'm not a fan of that. The plot of the book was nice
Omg! The suspense is amazing! A ski resort is not a place I’m familiar with but the writing made me able to imagine it vividly. The thriller aspect is very intriguing and unique and I found it difficult to put the book down once I was into the story. Very much reccomend!
This book was great but I expected something else. The story itself is good but sometimes I had a hard time reading it because it was kind of repetitive. The end is greater than the whole book.
