I have been waiting for Hillary's story after reading Winter's series. Boy, this book is different than this author's other books but just as good. I love Hillary. She is such a strong FMC who doesn't take and crap from anyone. She knows what she wants and goes for it. She is also secretly doing things to help others. The guys that are the MMCs in this book are perfect for her too!
Kellan, who is considered the viking, is tied in two different things. One being his father who is not a good man and another secretly something else to try to take others down.
Aaron, who Hillary has known a long time, has parents that run some shady things and seems to disappoint Hillary because can't get away from them.
Lachlan, who just seems to show up and is this Irish hot man that you don't know what Secrets he is hiding. He is a bit of a jokester and may have his eye on Hillary and someone else.
So much action in this book and kept me in my toes the whole time! Love this but that cliffhanger!! Why?? Need next book now!
I gravitate towards books with a fierce FMC. When I read the book dedication that says, " To all the boss babes who command their boardroom and their bedroom, but need to put in their place every once in a while." I knew the book would be right up my alley. I love that Hillary is smart, rich, strong, and independent. This is book 1 of a series, and so it sets the stage for the plot and characters. I'm excited for book 2 because i need more Lauchlan! What you will find in this book:
What to Expect: 🌸 Why Choose (MMMF) 🌸 Cartel x Irish Maf!a 🌸 Darker Secrets + Underground Crime 🌸 Reverse Billionaire 🌸 MM & MF Spicy Scenes 🌸 Powerful Woman on a mission (revenge) 🌸 Banter & Hot Chemistry 🌸 Slow Build but High Angst
I can already tell the plot is THICC on this one which is refreshing for a why choose romance. I also LOVE that there’s chemistry here, but the FMC isn’t falling deeply in love (or even lust) automatically. I can see this FMC is going to make these men WORK for it and I’m HERE👏🏻FOR👏🏻IT👏🏻
“I’d rather you 💦 on my tongue, Blondie. Don’t waste that sweet sticky mess on my jeans.”🥵🔥
It’s also an interesting dynamic when the woman is the one with all the power and money. She even knows self-defense. It’s going to make it even better when she finally chooses the men 👏🏻 (bc we all know they’ll be puppy at her feet by the end of this) 🤭😉
✨“You secured me a small piece of real estate, Kellan,” she retorted, meeting my stare with a fiery one of her own. “How typical of a man to make himself more important than he is.”✨😂
We’re introduced to a lot of characters and backstory very quickly and I’m nervous I’m going to need a recap before diving into book 2. But that cliffhanger guaranteed I’m reading the next one 😂
Mafia is my favorite sub-genre of romance, as well as a lot of the tropes in this series so I’m PUMPED for the next one.
🦋HUGE thank you to the author for the ARC. As always, read responsibly and check Trigger Warnings🦋
Make sure u read the 1st series of the 3 books in Cascade of Lies, Winter's Story, to have full character experience. This book timeline follows 6 yrs after those books, and this series is Hillary's story.
Hillary has her 3 pawns, her men, she is the Queen, and she is gonna make sure they knew it. Her men are Kellan the Viking, and he is an FBI agent. Plus, he gonna be takin over his family's business, Aaron, her business associate, and Lauchlan, the lucky leprechaun, and he is an app developer. Veronica and Vincente are Aaron's parents, but they are also Hillary's enemies they aren't the best of people. Hillary is a powerful woman and will take no shat from anyone and isn't afraid of anything. She is involved in taking out the scum in an underground operation she owns, and man is she an amazing boss who helps so many victims. This is an amazing cat and mouse chase of power between everyone involved. This book is full of secrets and power, and a big game of chess is bein played by so many players. This book left on a cliffhanger, and I can't wait to read the rest of the series.
Okay, let’s talk about To Catch a Rook by Cora Flynn—because this book is like stepping into a high-stakes game where every move is calculated, every character has secrets, and no one is exactly who they seem. It’s the kind of read that lays the foundation, giving us just enough intrigue to keep turning the pages but leaving a lot of questions unanswered.
What I Loved About This Book 🖤 The Characters Are So Distinct – We've got four main players:
Hillary, the ultimate Queen, who exudes power and control. Lachlan, the charismatic playboy who keeps things light but definitely has layers. Kellan, the broody Viking with that mysterious edge (you just know there’s more to him). Aaron, the perfectly collected, slightly stuck-up guy who seems like a puppet in someone else’s game. Each of them has their own world, their own problems, and yet their lives are tangled together in a way that keeps you guessing.
💣 The Secrets Unraveling – I love a book where secrets are currency, and this one delivers. Everyone has something to hide, and the way their individual stories intertwine is what keeps the tension simmering.
🔥 The Power Dynamics – There’s a constant push and pull in this book, and it’s not just in relationships—it’s in business, in crime, in the very structure of their world. If you like a book where power is a shifting force, this one’s for you.
What I Thought Could Change 🤔 A Bit More Connection Between Characters – While the secrets and dynamics are strong, I didn’t feel a deep emotional connection between the characters yet. It feels like we’re still in the “setting the board” phase rather than fully diving into their relationships. But I have a feeling this will come in later books!
🔄 More Action, Less Setup – This book is definitely a slow burn in terms of plot progression. It’s building something big, but I found myself wishing for a bit more momentum.
The Tropes: Why Choose Dark Romance Reverse Billionaire FBI x Con Artist Literal Kickass FMC Criminal Underworld Vigilante Justice MM Content Grumpy x Sunshine (She’s the grumpy one) Slow Burn Power Dynamics Age Gap
To Catch a Rook is very much an introduction to a bigger story—like the first move in a chess match. It gives us the players, sets the stakes, and hints at the power struggles to come. If you’re looking for a fast-paced romance, this might not be it yet, but if you love slow-burning secrets and high-stakes dynamics, this series could be a wild ride. I’ll definitely be picking up book 2 to see where it goes!
From the very first chapter, 𝒯𝑜 𝒞𝒶𝓉𝒸𝒽 𝒜 𝑅𝑜𝑜𝓀, grips you with the fierce power of its protagonist, Hillary; a woman who wears her wealth, status and ambition like armour. Although I absolutely adored Winter, Hillary is definitely more my style and I cannot wait to continue her story!
The characters who cross her path are as complex as they are captivating. Kellen, Aaron and Lucky each have their own ulterior motives for getting close to Hillary, making the tension in this book electric and keeping you on the edge of your seat with every twist and turn. Not to mention watching Hillary outmaneuver these men in the game of life (and love) is an absolute thrill! 😛
If you love a strong FMC who owns their power and makes no apologies, then this book is a definite must-read! Prepare for a wild ride of power, passion and betrayal - because this Queen won’t be dethroned 👑🔥
Slow burn mafia romances never disappoint. To Catch a Rook explores the lives of four intense characters caught in a world of inherited rules- all trying to find their own place in an organized crime world.
I am sad. This didn’t meet my expectations. The premise had potential, but the execution felt lacking. The main character, Hillary, was meant to be a strong, badass figure, but her constant whining and repetitive thoughts became tiring. The story felt stagnant, with each chapter revisiting the same topics without much progress. While there were moments that seemed promising, they were overshadowed by emotional back-and-forth. The author includes content warnings, hinting at dark themes, which may have set unrealistic expectations for me.
As for the slow burn, I expected a gradual build-up of feelings, but the characters already had feelings for each other, just denying them for plot reasons. This made it hard to emotionally connect with the relationships. I had high hopes for this book, but it didn’t work for me. The first book of the series felt incomplete, though I’m happy to see so many positive reviews, and I’m hopeful the story will improve in future releases.
I am grateful for the author for providing this ARC for an honest review.
I started reading this cause I got the sequel “To Catch a Knight” ARC and felt I should read this so I could understand what was happening.
I need to read the ‘Cascade of Lies’ trilogy to truly get all this backstory. Like her best friend has 5 husbands! Ok. She grew up with Aaron and Kellan and they have HISTORY and she was married to one of her BF’s now husband. Will read ‘Knight,’ then go read the trilogy.
I love a rich bitch ‘… refusing to let me pay for anything at all because I had gifted her a house one time.’
‘…I needed her beautiful body? Her splintered soul? Get demons to blend with mine? So we may submit to them together?’
‘I would demonstrate my loyalty before succumbing to my death.’
Who is the HER, she’s seeking revenge for?
Marty the assistant better not die!
Kind of a great exploration on anxiety and competing desires: help the girl you love - combat your terrible murderer dad.
“… was a hot piece of ass, and I planed to fuck it a few more times before I sacrificed that sexy body on the start of my revenge.”
Ate this up in 2 days only put it down to sleep (barely) and be an adult.
1. I'm thoroughly intrigued about whatever series came before this! Need to add that to my TBR right quick.
2. The dynamics between out main characters 🔥 and I may be more interested in how this plays out for the men than for the FMC.
3. Let's rank out newest book boyfriends shall we? Kellan (all day everyday), Lucky (we love a firey beta), Aaron (I warmed up to him more but- somebody's gotta come in last)
Go in as blind as possible. All I knew was mafia, CEO baddie, and why choose.
The gym scene and that cliffy??? Loved it.
Thank you for letting me ARC read! I'm always so thrilled when Canadian authors give me a 5 ⭐ read!
Loved the book. Hillery my girl... She is strong and a real bitch a good one at that. I love the stories when the FMC are strong and know their shit. I love when she puts all of our guys in their place.
About Kellen the brut grumpy alpha and Aaron the timid and love pup that's what he sounded to me. I want to see them more. I can't wait for the next book to come out. And our rook the one and only our lauchlan I loved him so much he is the perfect golden retriever kinda guy. Loved the build up and all the plot. I want them in a team now.
This is my first book by cora and I think I am in love. Thanku so much for advance copy of book and I enjoyed it a lot. Going back to read winter and her boys. Because I want more...
Hilary is the Queen! She's a bada$$ boss that takes care of business and isn't afraid of anything. She has three very different men in her life. Kellen, the broody FBI double agent that is also the son of the Cartel boss. Aaron, her business partner that has known her since childhood and Lauchlan, the mysterious new guy in town. They all want her and she wants them but keeps saying she's not into relationships. When Kellen's father orders him to get rid of Aaron, Hilary meets them at the warehouse to stop the fight. Lauchlan shows up and the other three decide to go against him. End on a cliffhanger.
Not something I would usually go for, as the FMC is very dominant, but picked it up on a whim and glad I did. I liked the different characters, how they were all connected to each other but also very much their own character too. The MMC's all felt very different from each other too, sometimes in RH/Why Choose the personalities can feel too similar, but each one held their own image in my mind. Whilst very much a slow burn, I liked the chemistry increasing between them and the world building was interesting too! Defintely interested to see how the series continues.
This one is for the Boss Babes! The banter was naturally toe curling and middle school girl squealing- worthy which can be imitated by many but falls flat often. This dialogue is effortless and matured bringing life and intimacy to the characters and their different personalities. The FMCs quick wit and sharp tongue make this a fast read that you don’t want to put down. Multiple POVs give you diverse perspective on characters and that ending? Not fair .
I throughly enjoyed this book, from the very beginning I was completely hooked. The storyline was mesmerising, it’s quite unique. Loved Hillary and her double life and that mysterious element was brilliant. The men in this book are complex and have completely different background, love their differing relationships with Hillary. Overall a great steamy read, that cliffhanger ending left me counting down the weeks until I can get my hands on book 2
Hillary is my new fave FMC! It's so refreshing reading about an FMC who is independent, fiesty, and a total boss babe! I personally love and support her vendetta. The book is filled with so many twists and turns and what an ending! Can't wait for the second book to see how the three MMC's work things out, plus I need more Lauchlan! Thank you so much for the ARC!
Love that this book has not just a strong FMC but she is morally grey and is the grumpy instead of being the sunshine. The banter between all the characters is top notch and I cannot wait for the next book to see how this all plays out!!
This series is for fans of slow burn, badass FMC, slow building action and drama, cliffhangers and plot twist, back stabbing, and some spicy spice.
When I grow up, I want to be like Hillary Lane. A total badass with 3 men that want to be in her life, no matter what. Cora Flynn is defiantly a slow burn and slow build author so if you want insta-love or full blown loyal relationships in the first book, then this one is not for you. But it's worth the wait, I promise.
This is a why choose MMMF and it builds slowly over the series. Yes she does have a past with two of the characters but it takes some time for them to pull their heads out of their butts, which is frustrating (in a good way).
There is also action and violence and drama and backstabbing from lots of places. And trust me, the action and violence will get more intense through the series so even though there is some in this book, there is much, much more to come.
I can't wait until book two because I just KNOW shit is going to hit the fan, and I'm here for the gore.
I love Cora Flynn and she’s quickly become an automatic buy author! I loved this book because Hilary is such a badass!! However her men still need to prove that they deserve her. I do like the Viking a bit more than the other tho… I can’t wait to see how the story will unfold!! Highly recommend! The spice is 🔥🔥🔥🔥
I don’t even know how to put into words just how much I love this book. I was completely absorbed from start to finish—I didn’t even realize I had hit the end until I was there, and then I just sat there, staring, because I wasn’t ready for it to be over.
This story is everything. The tension, the intrigue, the raw angst—Cora Flynn has outdone herself. The moment I started, I knew I wasn’t putting this book down, and it took everything in me to pace myself instead of devouring it in one sitting.
And let’s talk about Hillary. I love her. I knew I would after Cascade of Lies, but To Catch a Rook just solidified her as an all-time favorite. She is sharp, fearless, and so layered. The weight she carries, the scars of her past, and her need to take justice into her own hands—it all made me feel so deeply. Every woman has, at some point, thought about going full vigilante on men who prey on the weak, and Hillary does it. I felt her anger, her pain, and her drive in my bones.
Then there’s the men. Oh, the men.
Kellan is a mess of contradictions, and I adore him for it. He is so entangled in lies and obligations that he doesn’t know how to exist outside of them. You can feel how much he loves Hillary, how much he wants her, but he doesn’t believe he can have her without destroying everything. Watching him fight against himself was painful, and I need him to just let go already.
Lucky. Oh Lucky. If there’s one man who stole my heart effortlessly, it’s him. I want to trust him so badly, but I know there’s more to him. He’s dangerous, charming, and devastatingly unpredictable, and I am utterly obsessed with him. Every time he was on the page, I felt butterflies, and then he’d make me howl with laughter.
Aaron. Aaron. I thought I’d hate him, and yet here I am, in love. The way this man grew on me was unreal. His struggle between loyalty to his family and his need to be better is heartbreaking. He doesn’t want to be involved in the darkness, but he’s trapped in it, and it’s crushing him. I just want to wrap him in a hug and protect him from the world.
The pacing was perfect. Not too fast, not too slow, and the way everything flowed—especially with the introduction of the new crime family—was so smooth. It can be easy to get lost in underground crime plots, but this was crafted so well.
And the tension? The pinning? THE ANGST? I was losing my mind. The bar scene where Hillary meets Lucky? Flawless. The gym scene with Lucky and Kellan? Perfection. The gala? UNREAL. And the scene between Hillary and Aaron where he finally lets down his guard? It broke me.
Then there’s the steam. Cora. Cora, listen. Chef’s kiss. I wanted more, but I also know we need to work past a lot before we get there. The build-up is agonizing in the best way, and I know when it finally happens, it’s going to wreck me.
This book made me feel everything. The injustice Hillary faced made me furious. Kellan’s self-sabotage broke my heart. Lucky had me grinning like an idiot. Aaron made me ache. And through it all, I just kept thinking, I am so in love with this story.
I could go on forever, but the bottom line? 5 STARS. Easily. No question. If you need me, I’ll be sitting here, screaming into the void, waiting for the next book.
First time reading anything by Cora Flynn and I'm glad I did.
This is a quick read with a lot of different players, which is great because I'm hoping that means many more books in this series and spinoffs.
MFC in this book is Hillary Lane. She's a billionaire boss at work and in the bedroom. Her mom died, her dad is on lifetime house arrest and she she's sleeping with 2 of our 3 MMC - Aaron Rodriguez (heir to mafia family) and Kellan Carlo (heir to cartel family and FBI agent). Our third MMC is Louchlan Donovan/O'Donnell aka "Lucky" a member of The Six, an elite con group and now in the US, and Hillary's third lover. Added bonus, Lucky and Kellan hook up and Aaron's admired Kellan. Hillary's pegged Lucky and Aaron likes to wear a collar and be dominated by her.
Beyond the steamy spice, which is fairly sparse in number of scenes, but enough that you're moving your toes, the plot is excellent.
Kellan and Aaron's families are at odds. Hillary and Aaron can work together, but his parents are true scum, backing out on a deal with Kellan's family and forging a deal with Alvarez (a human trafficker). Kellan's family is known as the Carlo Cartel and Kellan keeps them out of trouble working for the FBI, while handling his family responsibilities. He's ordered by his family to kill Aaron. Louchlan has come to America for a job with The Six and Hillary is the mark. Meanwhile, Hillary is tracking Kellan, Aaron and now Louchlan in addition to hunting down pedophiles and castrating them. There are deals, power plays, deals turned upside down, and deception all mixed sexual tension and desire (and some real feelings). When Aaron's demeanor changes, Hillary's gut tells her something is wrong and she checks her trackers, learning that Kellan and Aaron are together in an unfinished warehouse. She finds them beating each other up (Kellan's offer to Aaron in lieu of killing him outright). Louchlan, bored on a Tuesday night, tracks Hillary and heads to the same warehouse.
With Hillary, Kellan and Aaron bloodied, Louchlan finds himself trying to figure out his next move.
Very much looking forward to the next book in this series.
If you like Kylie Kent books, you're going to like these too. Highly recommend.
Thank you for a wonderful book and allowing me to escape into this amazing work you created Cora Flynn

This book is a bit of a mixed feelings for me. It definitely grabbed my attention from the start, throwing me into this world of power plays and hidden agendas. The characters are interesting enough, each with their own baggage and secrets, but I didn't quite connect with them on a deeper level yet. It felt like I was watching them from a distance, rather than being pulled into their inner circles. The story itself is intriguing, with lots of little hints and clues scattered throughout. Flynn definitely knows how to keep you guessing, and I found myself flipping pages trying to piece everything together. There's a definite sense of tension building, like something big is about to happen, but it never quite explodes in this first book. It's more of a slow burn, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but I was hoping for a bit more action. One thing that stood out to me was the power dynamics between the characters. It's clear that everyone is vying for control, and the relationships are complex and layered. I'm curious to see how these dynamics shift and change as the series progresses. The author does a good job of creating a world where trust is a rare commodity, and everyone has their own motives. While I enjoyed the overall plot and the mystery surrounding the characters, I felt like the pacing was a little off. There were moments where I felt like the story was dragging, and other times when I wished things would have slowed down so I could absorb more information. It's a delicate balance, and I think it could have been handled a bit better. Overall, "To Catch a Rook" is a decent start to the series. It has its flaws, but it also has a lot of potential. I'm definitely curious enough to see where the story goes next, and I'm hoping that the subsequent books will delve deeper into the characters and their relationships. If you're a fan of suspenseful reads with a touch of intrigue, this might be worth checking out.
If you're looking for a book with a kick ass FMC, a thrilling mafia/cartel world, BDSM, wealth, and secrets, this is definitely the book for you!
Let’s talk about Lucky/Lauchlan – he had me laughing out loud more than once. One of the funniest moments is when he and Hillary try each other's drinks. Hillary is all about healthy options, while Liam is more of a "sugar, sugar, and a sprinkle of more sugar" guy. 😂 You can imagine how that went down – pure chaos and hilarity! Then there’s poor Aaron, dealing with his awful parents. It's painful to watch, and you can't help but root for him to find relief from all that family drama. As for Kellan, I have a love-hate relationship with him. I get that he wants to protect Hillary, but seriously, get the hint – she doesn’t want to be treated like glass. She’s more than capable of standing on her own two feet. Luckily, he does get better, and there’s a moment near the end where he finally treats her the way she deserves. Let’s just say, Hillary can totally kick his ass. I know it, and I’m here for it! 😂
Overall each of the MMCs brings something different for Hillary. They're all obsessed with her in their own ways: some want to be owned, some want to do the owning, and some want both. It’s fascinating how each of them fits into her life and completes different aspects of her world. When Hillary puts them in their place, I was internally screaming, “Yes, queen! Show them who’s boss!” 👑
And can we talk about this outrageous taco price? Seriously, what kind of taco costs that much? 😂
The book ends on an epic cliffhanger that had me both laughing and gasping. It's one of those endings that makes you immediately want to grab the next book – because you have to know what happens next! This book is a wild ride from start to finish. I can’t wait for the next one – I need it ASAP!
I want to start by saying that I love Why choose. It is one of my favorite genres and I can read every genre that exists, but if it involves several men ... well sign me up because it is a resounding yes for me.
As I started this book the first thing that grabbed me was the FMC. I love a strong FMC and Hillary without a doubt is strong, not just physically and mentally, but in all her areas. Well said by her men a complete “Queen”.
Every queen deserves strong men by her side and it is something that our FMC deep down desires, however let me tell you that the MMC's let themselves be loved, they all have such different but at the same time so complementary personalities, they are the perfect “team” if we can call it that.
I'm excited to see what the rest of the books in the series will bring!
📍Do I recommend it?
Yes, it was definitely an interesting book and I find it to be a perfect book if you're just starting out in dark romance and don't know where to start or if you're just starting out with the Why choose genre , but don't want to overwhelm yourself with too many men.
If you are looking for a book where the FMC is dominant and can dominate both her surroundings and her men or you are looking for something out of monogamy with an extra pair then this is definitely the perfect book for you, but as I always like to comment always keep in mind to read the warnings, because what may seem soft to me, may not be for you.
So don't wait any longer and pre-order “To Catch a Rook” now.
And when you've got it come back and tell me.
What do you think of Hillary's domineering attitude, isn't it most charming? 🤭
A masterfully crafted, brilliantly written, insanely intriguing, and sexy, sexy, sexy read! With more pieces and moves than a vicious game of chess, this captures your undivided attention with cartels galore, double agents, dirty deals, vigilante justice, ulterior motives, secrets, and enough sexual tension the possibility of spontaneous combustion is a real concern, as a sexy con man with a panty melting Irish accent, a moody, broody, and far to delicious for his own good Columbian Cartel heir, and a Viking God in all his big, seductive, bring you to your knees glory, get sucked into a game with no rules, no clear end, and no idea what the winner gets or what it might cost. The only thing that's certain is this first book is just a taste of what's ahead, it's all going to revolve around one tiny, blonde bombshell with billions of dollars, a whole lot of power, and these three wrapped around her finger, and it's going to be freaking fabulous, making the wait for the next book exquisite torture!
First off Cora Flynn deserves all the accolades! This has a ton of moving pieces and it's written flawlessly, never leaving you confused, consistently drawing you further in, and keeping you fully engaged from start to finish. That said, this is just a great freaking read! The characters all hold your interest, draw a little empathy, and make you want to know more, the plot is just fantastic and again has you wanting more, and I am literally counting down the days until I can see what kind of explosions and fireworks happen in the bedroom between these four. A really well done read I would suggest to pretty much everyone on the planet as the next book they should start.
I had the distinct pleasure of getting an advanced copy, and let me tell you, it was a revelation.
As a first-time reader of Flynn's work, I'm officially hooked.
Hillary, the female main character, is a force of nature. A total badass. What more could you possibly want?
And let's be honest, the premise alone – three incredibly compelling men vying for her attention – is enough to pique anyone's interest. But it's not just the men; it's Hillary herself. She's powerful, complex, and utterly enthralling.
And that quote? "Beautiful brats just love a good spanking every now and again to keep that fiery blood in check, aye?" Pure fire! It perfectly encapsulates the raw energy and dominant themes at play within the story.
The dynamic between Hillary, the Viking, the business associate, and the Irishman is electric, and the constant power struggles kept me glued to the page.
Flynn masterfully crafts a world of intrigue and desire, leaving you constantly guessing what will happen next.
The push and pull of power is palpable. The characters are richly developed and the plot, a whirlwind of suspense.
Honestly, the cliffhanger ending was diabolical... in the best possible way! It left me desperate for the next installment. Bring on book two! I'm already counting down the days.
Cora Flynn has undeniably earned herself a devoted reader.
This book is a must-read for anyone who enjoys strong female leads, complex relationships, and a story that will keep you on the edge of your seat from beginning to end.
𝑻𝒐 𝑪𝒂𝒕𝒄𝒉 𝑨 𝑹𝒐𝒐𝒌 is the first book that i’ve read by Cora Flynn. her Cascade of Lies series about Hillary’s best friend Winter, has been on my tbr for a while and after reading 𝑻𝒐 𝑪𝒂𝒕𝒄𝒉 𝑨 𝑹𝒐𝒐𝒌, now i want to go back and read about her and her men. i don’t think you need to read Winter’s story before reading this book, but i feel like it would help set up the different characters.
Hillary gives me major 𝑯𝒂𝒅𝒆𝒔/7𝒕𝒉 𝑪𝒊𝒓𝒄𝒍𝒆 vibes. a badass fmc owns her sexuality and businesses and doesn’t let any man control her. she also uses her connections to rid the world of those trafficking women and is trying to take down the major players.
i am still a little hesitant on all the men in her life so far. Hillary is in charge of everything in life but the men do not seem to be.
⚠️ there is an on page OW scene with Aaron another women at his sex club.
i am not a chess player but i could see that this book was all about understanding the different players and the moves they are making and making sure to stay one move ahead of them all.
the book ends on a cliffhanger that could change the dynamic of a lot of relationships but also possibly reveal some motives for another.
