Southern summers were notoriously hot. But when a series of deadly fi res blazed through the city, Detective Bradford Walsh really felt the heat. With temperatures rising, he had to catch the arsonist before the city was reduced to a pile of cinders.
AND AN ATTRACTION BURNING OUT OF CONTROL
On the hunt for a killer, all roads led to one Rosanna Redhill. The fi res seemed to target the elusive beauty, and Bradford had to know why. But he couldn't let Rosanna's smoldering glances distract him from his investigation. Because then he'd have another fire to extinguish…one that threatened to send them both up in flames.
USA Today Bestselling and award-winning author Rita Herron fell in love with books at the ripe age of eight when she read her first Trixie Belden mystery. But she didn’t think real people grew up to be writers, so she became a teacher instead. Now she writes so she doesn’t have to get a real job. With over ninety books to her credit, she’s penned romantic suspense, romantic comedy and YA novels, but she especially likes writing dark romantic suspense and crime fiction set in small southern towns. Another great book from Rita Herron. I always enjoy the stuff she writes. And unlike some Intrigue books with their abrupt endings that leave you feeling a little unfulfilled (especially on the romance angle), this one has a solid HEA ending that romance lovers will enjoy.
A powerful read that will have you on edge until the very last page. You will feel a pull towards Rosanna Redhill as she tries to keep her past hidden and Detective Bradford Walsh want to solve this arsonist case. Never imagined that they will soon be together in more ways then one. But when Rosanna almost lost her life twice and saved twice by Walsh then things starts to heat up between them. Not knowing that Walsh's family past was about to become a nightmare for him and death for Rosanna. Grab this book and find out what happens.
This actually surprised me. I really enjoyed the story. I didn’t know what to expect going into it because it had to deal with a little bit of the paranormal. I liked it. I liked how you didn’t know who it was gonna be in the end, and how Bradford and Rosanna became close.
For a harlequin, this wasn't too bad. I don't read too much romance themed books because I can't stand the cheesiness they seem to have adopted. But this one, although still kinda hard to believe, was actually pretty good. I liked the main character and I think she was a tough cookie. The main male character I liked but at the same time I wanted to punch him.
Another thing I liked about this book was that it had psychic stuff and paranormal roots...my kind of genre! Someone who can move things with their mind, fire starters, and mind readers all make appearances in the book and it gives it another angle to help spice up what would normally be a pretty boring/ordinary story.
I won't beat the horse to death, needless to say, it was pretty good for a "trashy"/in between read. I would recommend it even to those who wouldn't normally read the genre.
A very explosive beginning then it kind of went tame. I enjoyed the push and pull romance between the detective and the victim. He knew he shouldn't have a relationship with her and after kissing her senseless would pull back and apologize...again and again. The mystery was enthralling as fires were being started without accelerant and no clues were left behind. It was cool to watch the detective disavow all leads involving the paranormal.
A good premise of a serial arsonist terrorizing Savannah, but with a paranormal angle of a telekinetic woman hiding a dark secret and the arsonist literally throwing fireballs. Unfortunately the plot was too predictable, the characters rather bland, and the villain easily spotted. Quite disappointing.
This was an interesting read. Naturally, I read a book further along in a series instead of starting at the beginning. Luckily, it didn't hinder my following the story as it has in others series I've read. I'll be on the look out for the other books from this series.
Simply wonderful! I was actually surprised at how much I enjoyed this book. This author is an amazing story teller. The characters really drew me in from the very beginning.
