The night I met them irrevocably changed my life. The Devil’s Den. The notorious MC known for boozing and sharing their women between brothers. That life never appealed to me. Not until I met Walker, Hudson, and Levi. I’ve found myself sucked deeper into their life as each day goes by. It was never supposed to be more than a small favor, but you know what they say. Play with the devil and get burned by his flame.
Cala Riley, better known as Cala and Riley, are a pair of friends with a deep seated love of books and writing. Both Cala and Riley are happily married and each have children, Cala with the four-legged kind while Riley has a mixture of both two-legged and four. While they live apart, that does not affect their connection. They are the true definition of family. What started as an idea that quickly turned into a full-length book and a bond that will never end.
I don’t do RH a bunch, but I really enjoyed this one! The story had lots of action and was really fast-paced. The guys all had very distinct personalities and thought they were perfect for Esme as her knights in leather :) I didn't notice any repetitive phrases or plot holes, and I thought the sex scenes were super hot. It was cute how they all argued over different firsts with her, lol. I’m hoping we get to see more from this world!
⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 Really wish I could rate this one higher. Normally I LOVE a why choose MC romance and was really looking forward to this book but I had a hard time connecting with the MCs. We got little bits of their background and then when the MCs are together things happened so fast or the reader was just told something happened that it felt surface level.
Who knew that a random woman sitting down on your lap in a crowded bar would rock your world. In the best way, of course. That's exactly what happened when Esme plopped down in Walker's. She needed help and needed it that second, he didn't disappoint. Add in his 2 friends and you have the recipe for a treat, no tricks here.
I loved that this was centered around Halloween. Such a fun little addition.
3 friends (Walker, Hudson, Levi) all in an MC. Live together, ride together and well, I'm sure you have an idea what else they do together. They've been searching for the right one for a long time and she just might have fallen into their laps - quite literally.
Started out slow, getting to know each other, making sure all are one the same page. Once all were onboard my kindle was smoking for all the chemistry between these 4. A bit too intsa lovely for me, especially with it being why choose, but I could get pass that.
If you're looking for a little treat this Halloween, cozy up with the Devil's Den and let them take care of you! Oh and who knew that we needed more of this trio from the Shadow Crew books? These two did and I thank them!!
I DEVOURED THIS BOOK (in a day and a half 🫣🥹) & was left BEGGING for more! (Thank you Cala Riley for offering that *beautiful* bonus chapter 🤤)
This was the first “why choose” trope I’ve ever read and it was so well done. You FELT the FMC’s love for all of her men and it only pulled you deeper into the story, wanting more of all of them!
The badass MC lifestyle was portrayed very well and was an excellent way to help the FMC blossom into the woman we all absolutely loved madly by the end.
Thank you for this opportunity to receive an ARC of this book. Quickly one of my favorites.
Cala has done it again, The Devil's Den was a perfect stepping stone into the wilder world of romance. So far, Cala's romances have only been MF romances. To throw in a Why Choose/MMFM romance was perfect for herself to start branching off. I am a massive fan of MC romances and Why choose, so I threw myself in with this book the minute it hit my inbox.
When Esme discovers her boyfriend having an affair with her "Supposed best friend," she decides she has had enough and is deceived not only by her present lover but also by the friends she believed she had. Esme's meeting takes a bad turn after her now-ex-boyfriend ambushes her, forcing her to seek cover from three nearby guys. She needed Levi, Walker, and Hudson to protect her from her erratic ex, and Walker knew she was his just by seeing Esme sit her ass in his lap.
Esme is extremely wary of the three men after being deceived so many times, but they also hesitate for her to date them all because they know that two of them were intimate with each other. They had to be certain she wouldn't flee at the sight. I adored how the three of them alternated dating her, how she understood that she was loved and wanted, and how her passion for Halloween and animals was just a natural part of who she was.
The spice for Cala's first why choose was just on point, there were seperate scenes, them sharing their interest in her as their own persons but the scenes together were just H.O.T 🥵🥵
I loved the plot, the spice and the charaters! I read scenes that would need a bit more background since their were characters in previous Cala Riley books that needed to be read to know who they were but it was very natural her bringing them into the story for 1 chapter.
If you want a great standalone book with incredible story, spice and love then The Devil's Den is for you.
I want to thank Cala Riley and her PR Team for the oppporutnity to read and review The Devils Den.
Once I started this book I didn’t want to put it down. I am a big fan of a why choose romance and this duo does them so well.
This book is sexy and fun, I love how it touches on the aspects of this type of relationship and how Esme grew to look past societal norms and do what really made her happy and that was loving Levi, Walker and Hudson. These characters were fantastic and so obviously meant for each other. I loved seeing some familiar characters as well.
Esme was such a strong character, she grew so much and stood up for herself. Walker, Hudson and Levi were fantastic book boyfriends. So protective and showed Esme what love really looked like.
Tropes: Motorcycle club Touch her and die Pretend to be my boyfriend turns into more
Loved 🥰: - fun, fast paced and entertaining - easy to binge read in one go - the way each guy had his own unique personality and how they each played off each other & Esme
Liked ☺️: - the relationship that pre-existed with the guys and how Esme became a part of that instead of overtaking anything - how each guy was vulnerable with Esme
Why it wasn’t rated higher (for me personally)🤷🏻♀️: - I personally would have liked more spicy group scenes
When I found out that Cala & Riley were writing another Why Choose romance, I had a little moment where I screamed out of the excitement I felt! The Devil's Den was such a cute RH story set in October, leading up to Halloween because it’s our FMC’s favorite holiday (and rightfully so because it is mine too). The plot and characters were perfection, and their story will have you loving them every single second. I absolutely adore reading Cala Riley, especially the MC stuff, so it’s not a surprise to me that I loved this book. It’s honestly just a sweet RH story, except the part where the guys happen to be in an MC and may dabble in vague illegal stuff but I think if the book were longer, we’d get more MC outlaw shenanigans. Although with the sweetness of this relationship I don't think it needs any extra drama.
Oh. My. God. I was looking forward to this book so much! It 100% lived up to all the hype. This is a perfect why choose book. She met them at the perfect moment. She thought she had to choose which one she wanted, but why choose when you can have 3 perfect men to fill in all those boxes 😉
The Devil’s Den by Cala Riley is a why-choose romance between Esme, Hudson, Walker and Levi. It is part of the multi-authored 31 Days Of Trick Or Treat, so is set around Halloween. We get all four characters POV’s as they start a reverse harem / polyamorous relationship. All three men are hoping to find one woman to share their lives but could she love all three of them and be their missing piece? Can Esme put other people’s opinions and social expectations behind her and have a relationship with them?
Esme is a zoologist but due to her relationship with Troy she is struggling with her self esteem as he has chipped away at it over the last 3 years. She decides to surprise him for their anniversary but is left hurt and betrayed when she finds him cheating with her best friend. She pulls herself together and is excited about moving on until her other best friend also betrays her by setting up unwanted meeting with Troy. Furious with Troy’s attitude towards her, Esme notices three bikers sitting in the bar and one piques her interest as very sexy. Courageously she approaches him and sits in his lap, then asks him to play along and kisses him. He is huge compared to her so calls her Pixie. She notices the other two are just as handsome.
The men are best friends in the Devil’s Den, an unique MC made up of clans who also have a code of sharing. This was an interesting twist to a usual MC story. Walker had noticed her the moment she walked in and thought she was a pretty little thing but didn’t think she could handle their lifestyle, however, his protective side ignites. He is a man of few words and doesn’t trust women so can’t understand why he is so interested in her? Hudson is the flirty and funny one, a charismatic pretty boy who makes her smile. Levi is the leader of the three and thinks she’s gorgeous, just their type. All three have very different personalities and their banter was so entertaining.
They are determined to show her that poly could fulfil all her needs and the bond between Walker and Levi brings extra spice into the mix. Worried she will only choose one of them, they try to make it easier for her and each take her on a date. Will she accept their lifestyle and fall in love with all of them or will she leave them broken hearted. They hope she is into them as much as they are into her and could be the one for them. I loved how they slowly make her realise she is worth so much more and deserves to have a meaningful and loving relationship.
Some characters from The Shadow Crew series appear and we hear a little about Zade and the problems he caused them. If you want to know what went on between them, his story is Finish Line #4. This story really concentrates on the relationship between Esme, Walker, Levi and Hudson rather than their MC lifestyle. While she processes that fact that she is falling for all three men, Troy continues to be a thorn in her side. Can she overcome her insecurities, forget about what other people think and enjoy her men? It was insta love for the men but overall I found it a fun and different romance.
3.75stars-THE DEVIL’S DEN by Cala Riley is a stand alone, contemporary, adult, ‘why-choose’ erotic, romance story line set in the multi-authored 31 DAYS OF TRICK OR TREAT. This is Zoologist Esme, and Hudson, Walker and Levi’s reverse harem relationship.
NOTE: Due to the nature of the story line premise, there may be triggers for more sensitive readers.
Told from four first person perspectives (Esme, Hudson, Walker and Levi) follows the building relationship between Esme and the three men with whom she will fall in love. Having caught her boyfriend Troy in bed with her best friend Kimberly, Esme was struggling with issues of self esteem but when she discovers another set-up wrapped in yet another betrayal, our heroine takes charge, literally landing in the lap of a biker at a bar. Walker agrees to play along, thus embarking on a lifelong relationship with his two best friends, and the woman with whom they will fall in love. The past refuses to let go, refusing to give up and walk away, and in this Esme finds herself facing down her demons on more than one occasion.
The world building focuses on the ‘why choose’ relationship between Esme, Walker, Hudson and Levi. Levi and Walker are bisexual, and have been in a relationship for as long as they can remember: Hudson is the third friend, who loves his ‘brothers’ equally , and all three are hoping to find one woman with whom to share their lives. THE DEVIL’S DEN focuses more upon the relationship than the MC lifestyle . The MC consists of several clans and polyamorous relationships, each searching for one woman to share. Esme, as well as Hudson, Walker and Levi all grew up in the foster care system, and in this they share a kindred spirit with their own heartbreaking past.
The relationship between Esme, and Hudson, Walker and Levi begins as a pseudo rescue in the wake of the ongoing betrayal in Esme’s personal life.Worried that the woman with whom they are falling in love will choose only one, Walker, Hudson and Levi each have personal time and a chance at seduction, ensuing Esme will fall in love with all three. The $ex scenes are erotic, and provocative without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.
The secondary and supporting characters are limited. We are introduced to Esme’s former friends Kimberly and Ambers, as well as ex-boyfriend Troy: co-workers Charlotte and Susie.
THE DEVIL’S DEN is a story of love and loss, obsession and betrayal, family and friendship, acceptance and love. The fast paced, character driven premise is thought provoking and inviting; the romance is spicy and unconventional; the characters are energetic and charismatic,
there will be a more detailed list of trigger warnings at the bottom, to avoid spoilers main characters experience life in the foster care system and their journeys are discussed on page in detail, the loss of loved ones, internalized phobia talk (marriage discrimination, slut shaming), slut shaming vocalized towards the FMC, cheating (not between MCs), stalking and harassment, mention of cancer/chemo. The sexual content involved breath play and rough sex.
“Remember, ladies and fellas, if they aren’t feeding you, f!cking you, or financing you, then they don’t get to make decisions about your life.”
Cala Riley’s books always feel like a warm, comforting hug. And this one comes with extra hugs, extra burly hugs! This is one of those books where you think “oh, this FMC is living that reader’s dream”, because Esme is! She gets the dream guy times 3! The sweet one, the funny one, and the protective one. And they come with a found family too! But most importantly, they’re their own family. And adding Esme into the mix is their perfect happy ending. She’s their missing piece, the one thing they knew they were missing. Walker, Hudson, and Levi have always had each other. And I loved the sincere moments between them, showing their love in their own way. Esme being included was so wonderful! I was swooning all over the place, and smiling like a loon! Group hugs, group snuggles…group adult activities. Those men are weak at first glance. And I was weak for the whole bunch!
My Favorite Quotes: • “Trust me, the things I would like to do with you aren’t very gentlemanly.” • “I’d wait an eternity for you.” • “I’ll be proud as f!ck to have you on my arm.” • “I will share you for the rest of my life, but right now, I want to be selfish. I want to take what you give me and then take some more. You think you can handle it?” • “I can’t survive without any of you.” • “I want to learn about you for the rest of my life.” • “I want to see you take what you want.” • “Make her come, or I won’t let you come again.” • “All I want is all of you.” • “I don’t think I know where I end or you begin.”
8/10 Dirty Birdy 3/10 Age Gap 5/10 Friends to Lovers 5/10 Instalove
Trigger Warnings include: The main characters experience life in the foster care system and their journeys are discussed on page in detail. This includes: the loss of loved ones and that trauma, child abuse/neglect, drugs and addiction, inappropriate touching (children) that definitely could be considered sexual assault. Stalking and harassment towards the FMC becomes violent, there are also threats of kidnapping and rape.
i’ve been a big fan of Cala Riley’s MC books for a while. they’re my go-to for a more palette cleansing MC book that isn’t dark. so when i saw that they were releasing a why choose one during Halloween i was stoked and immediately signed up for the ARC.
our fmc Esme, who i believe is mid 20s, meets the mmcs when she goes up to Walker and kisses him and asks him to pretend to be her boyfriend to get away from her cheating ex. Walker, Hudson, and Levi are all part of the Devil’s Den MC and considered the three of them a clan who plan on being with one woman. and they know Esme is that woman, they just have to convince her that 3 is better than 1.
however, i was really put off by a few lines of this book:
after i read this, my immediate thought was “ew”, because it came off to me as “i’m not homophobic but i always believed marriage as between a man and a woman”. and before you tell me that i am thinking too much about this, rhetoric like this can be damaging to the queer community. we regurgitate the same sort of language without thinking it’s bad. the line was completely unnecessary bc the authors could have just said, “i was always told that committed relations were between TWO people,” since the fmcs issue was that she never considered dating more than one person. what also makes it worse in my opinion is that this does include MM in the group. 2 of the mmcs are together and there are multiple MM scenes.
because i received an ARC, i did email one of the PAs for the authors to let them know my opinion. i was brief in my message and did not accuse the authors of anything. i just thought they should hear the feedback and how it came across in case they wanted to make any changes. however they did not change it and the lines are still in the published version, which really bummed me out.
thank you Cala Riley for an e-ARC of 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑫𝒆𝒗𝒊𝒍𝒔 𝑫𝒆𝒏

This is a light MC, why choose romance about Esme, a super sweet zoologist and Levi, Hudson and walker 3 bikers from an MC that believes that sharing is caring.
Having had the absolute worst luck of late and after another betrayal by someone who is supposed to be her friend Esme is left with no other option than to rely on the kindness of strangers, and when faced with her cheating, slimy ex attempting to get her back and after throwing herself lips first at Walker, it would appear that the 3 rough looking bikers are actually her knights in shining armour.
Walker, the one lucky enough to taste her lips first is a quiet, rough and somewhat grumpy seeming biker, who has hidden depths that make him practically melt for Esme, he also prefers her to use him as a chair from the moment they meet (*swoon), Levi, the kind of leader of the trio is a protective but serious kind of biker who is happy to be whatever he needs to be to keep his “brothers” and newfound love happy. Finally we have Hudson who is the kind of silly, joker and golden retriever of the group, who helps Esme to truly be herself and reminds them all not to take themselves too seriously.
Having recently changed President and certain rules within the MC, one of the few things to carry over under the leadership change (to our featured trio) is the existence of clans, which is a previous custom wherein there are “clans” of 3 or 4 bikers dedicated to and in a relationship with one woman (or person). If there’s anything that Levi, Walker and Hudson can agree on, it’s that they not only want to partake in this custom but that they also want Esme to be their chosen woman. Esme having only ever been in and experienced a one on one monogamous relationship decides to dip her toe in the water by dating them individually but at the same time. What follows is a story that is part wholesome, part extra spicy (and yes there is sword crossing) and all so so good. They face one or 2 problems along the way, including an ex that doesn’t seem to get the hint or understand that no means no, but it’s still very much a lighter MC experience, so it’s a great read for someone new to the MC experience and or something lighter and/or a fun easy read.
The Devils Den is part of a 31 book collection by various authors called 31 Days of Trick or Treat (Biker and Mobster) each featuring a Halloween theme, in this book you can expect pumpkin patches, pumpkin carving, trunk or treat and much more!
This book was just amazing and I loved every second of it, it was just sweet and wonderful and the way they just love each other is amazing I was giggling and laughing the whole book
I love how every one of the boys got to spend time with her and show her how much they care about her and that she is so loved after what her ex and friends did to her
This book was short and sweet but it was also very interesting and entertaining I couldn’t get enough of it and the plot was also great. Cala and Riley never disappoints!
Everyone’s chemistry was so amazing and the spice!?! Fantastic it was so HOT had me giggling and twirling my hair.
I love me a good why choose and this one was no different!
Noooooooo! First KitKat and then Pixie. Now the second moniker I kind of get since they haven’t exchanged names, but still... Angel and darlin’ are eventually added to the mix.
This is marketed as a Halloween tale but in reality only in the sense that it occurs at that time of year. There’s no spookiness or supernatural aspects as one might expect.
Story starts with the all too familiar woman finding her man in bed with her best friend. She exits stage right but is later tricked into meeting with him by a different “friend.” The conversation turns ugly and she seeks refuge from a stranger. Ex boyfriend is incredulous but is eventually driven away.
The stranger and his two friends are irresistibly drawn to Esme and their feelings are reciprocated. One thing leads to another and they agree for her to date each of them individually to decide if she wants to pick one or all. (The idea of rejecting all of them is never even considered)
There are several more confrontations with both the ex boyfriend and her duplicitous former friend as Esme settles into her new life.
Observations: I thought the birth of the baby giraffe was imminent but it doesn’t actually occur until a month later. Esme had gone to college in the town where she lives and I think had been there for eight years, yet she’s only made two girlfriends? What in the heck has she been doing with her spare time?
The Devil’s Den is another standalone hit by Cala Riley. I was given this book as an ARC by the author. If Cala and Riley write it, then I will read it. This story is no exception. It was on the shorter side and was easy to follow. It is a perfect spooky season read that does not have blood and horror. It was a perfect Fall read for me. I saw that this book was a why choose, fall setting, and MC romance – say less!
Walker, Hudson, and Levi fall in insta-love for Esme from the first time they meet each other. Each MMC was truly unique, so I understand why it was so hard for Esme to choose. They each offer a different type of love that fills Esme’s love tank. I love a MMC that tends to the needs of the FMC and these bikers show it from chapter one! This book is also a good lesson in caring less about what others think of you. You have to live your life for yourself, not others. Fortunately, this relationship is accepted pretty easily with the people around them. I loved that all of the individual relationships were really open and fine-tuned to each character’s needs.
I do wish the authors offered more of the back story for all four characters. I feel like the book could have definitely been longer and it still would be a great read. I would read this again if it became a duet or trilogy. The spice in this spooky read was also top notch. It always left me wanting more because there are three of them after all!!!
I will always recommend Cala Riley books to other readers. The hits just keep pouring out of them. I hope this is not the last we will see of this insta-love group. I would love to see Esme come into her own skin a little more. If you are looking for a fantastic motorcycle romance read, then jump into any Cala Riley MC series. The Devil’s Den is the perfect introduction to this author if you have not read anything from them yet.
The Devil’s Den, the infamous MC known for danger, loyalty, and sharing their women, was never the kind of life she wanted. But after catching her boyfriend cheating with her best friend, Esme’s heart is shattered, and she finds herself drawn into the orbit of three men who see her in ways no one else ever has.
Hudson, Walker, and Levi grew up together in a house for orphans, brothers by choice and bound for life. They built their MC from the ground up: rough, loyal, and unbreakable.
Hudson is the light one: easygoing, funny, and caring. He makes Esme laugh again and reminds her how it feels to be truly seen. Walker is quieter, a painter and protector, a bit obsessed but in a way that makes her feel wild and free. Levi is the serious one: responsible, commanding, and grounded. With him, she feels steady, safe, and more herself than ever before.
Each man brings out a different part of her: happiness, freedom, fulfillment; and together they challenge everything she thought she knew about love and belonging.
Full honesty? Why Choose and Reverse Harem aren’t my usual reads. I’m a hopeless romantic who believes in one true love, one person, one heart. But I’m part of Cala Riley’s ARC team, and I wanted to give this one a fair chance and I’m glad I did!!
This story surprised me. It’s not just about steamy moments or breaking rules; it’s about healing after betrayal, finding strength, and giving yourself permission to choose your own kind of love. I loved seeing how these men helped Esme rediscover herself and take back her power.
Even when the trope isn’t my favorite, Cala Riley’s writing always pulls me in. Their characters feel real, their emotions raw, and their stories, no matter how unconventional, always leave a mark.
Okay this wasn't my first why choose romance. But I usually read MFM not MFMM and let me tell you. It was so f****** amazing!!!
Esme, growing up without a family didn't stop her from being successful. She has a job she loves and wouldn't change it for anything. Her personal life on the other hand takes a turn when she finds out about her boyfriend's betrayal.
She decides then and there to live for herself, but when he tries to win her back, she gets a broody and quiet biker to be a pretend boyfriend. Not realising that he and his two friends are about to change her world.
Walker, Levi & Hudson grew up together and they did everything when they were kids to stay together. These three men are the Presidents of Devils Den and are looking for their woman. And she literally walks right up to them.
Esme likes all three of them, and realises she doesn't have to choose between them. Her heart wants all three and well, why be worried about what others want when you get to be happy?!
She is their woman. They will protect her, love her and unlive someone for her.
Esme, Walker, Levi & Hudson's chemistry was so dang good. The friendship between all the guys and the relationship that developed between all of them was so freaking amazing.
It was a good start to a new world of MC's for them and I did enjoy the book.
We have Esme as the FMC who is fresh from break-up after a cheating ex and just happens to stumble into the world of Walker, Hudson and Levi at a bar when she has Walker play a new boyfriend to deter the old boyfriend. Little did she know that sitting on one of their laps sparked a connection between them all.
Walker, Hudson and Levi are part of the Devil's Den MC but slightly different than what we have read about from other book series. They share and have been looking for someone to call their own. They all have a history that we got a little bit of and learned a little bit about the crew that was in charge before they took over. They all have this protectiveness for each other and Esme as well as tenderness that is present as well.
They have chemistry and the spice between the individual couples and than all together is spicy and well written with a true feeling of growth and intimacy between them all. They fill gaps that the others in the relationship have and are craving to feel stable and whole.
This is a new world for me to read from the authors and it was good and I enjoyed but somethings was missing and sadly I am not 100% sure what it was....I just wanted more; more background on our 3 MMC which we got in glimpses but I wanted more.
I did receive and ARC and I am blessed for the chance.
When a beautiful lady comes and asks for you to help her, you do just that. Well, you do if you are Walker of the Devil’s Den MC. Just sitting there with his two best friends and Esme sits on his lap and asks for his help. That one moment changed direction for all 4 people. Hunter and Levi knew it the moment Walker kissed Esme. These guys knew that Esme was too sweet to be in their world but didn’t want to let that stop them from not only ensuring she was safe but then asked her for more. I loved watching Esme come out of her shell and it was only due to the amazing support of the guys that she allowed for that to happen. Each guy was able to show her a new side of herself that she didn’t even realize that had. Also, it allowed them to show her more about who they were and who the MC was. I absolutely LOVED that we got to see some of the Shadow Crew in this book. When you finish this one, go back and read them if you haven’t already. It just gives you a little more glimpses into these characters as well. My favorite part of this is that not only do we get a character with a very different kind of career but we also get to watch someone who truly loves holidays and seasons and goes all out for them. A great read that’s for sure.
Obsessed just completely and utterly obsessed. That’s exactly what I was with this awesome book . Dark Why Choose and Motorcycle Romance The Devils Den was and is the perfect blend of both . And common what’s not to love about3 hot as heck MMC’S who would do anything to protect the women they love . Hunter , Levi and Walker . How do you even choose a favorite? Not possible . The quiet one , the serious one and the sweet golden retriever. And then we have our heroine Esme - so strong and resilient. Sure she’s definitely been through the wringer, finding her boyfriend in a compromising position with her best friend. The emotional toll that has on her and her struggle with self confidence and self esteem. The demons from her past and future . That being said , I loved seeing her grow over time , seeing her come out of her shell and the strength she finds within herself. The way each guy brings something different to the table !!! Add into that the steam , the secrets, the intrigue and suspense, the drama , the humor , the darkness, the angst , the witty banter , the obstacles, the family and friendships, the twists and turns. What a emotional rollercoaster.
No matter what pairing Cala Riley writes, they always go all in — and never more so than with Devil’s Den, part of the multi-author world. This one is a wild why-choose MMFM story that turns the heat all the way up. With Levi, Hudson, and Walker in the mix, choosing a favorite is nearly impossible… although I’ll admit, Walker might have edged ahead just a little for me.
I’ve always adored Cala Riley’s writing style, and they didn’t disappoint here — it’s a hot ride in every sense of the word (seriously, grab the ice cubes and a fan!). There were a few moments when I wasn’t sure if things would work between them; the guys were so possessive of Esme that I had my doubts. But the further I read, the more everything clicked — and by the end, it just worked.
A bonus treat was the small cameo from Roxy and Roman from Redlined, which made it even better. Overall, this was one steamy, sizzling biker romance perfect for a Halloween binge read.
New series and Cala Riley didn’t disappoint with this Why Choose MC Romance. Esme has been through the wringer growing up so when she met Troy she thought her life was going in the right direction. When Troy and her So called Best Friend get caught in the act on what was suppose to be a special occasion, Esme not only needed to prove it to herself but to others she doesn’t need Troy to be happy. What happens when she asks 1 of the 3 brooding men in the bar to pretend to be her boyfriend? Walker pulls out all the stops when Esme tells him why she needs the help. When truth comes to light that all 3 of the Devils Dens guys all have feelings for Esme, does she give into the wants or do the noises in her head tell her to forget it cause she will be judged talked about or even called names. I couldn’t put this one day so good. Can’t wait for more.
It’s not often I pick up a book and smile, almost from the get go when the MMC’s are introduced. She was “beaten” down by her boyfriend so when she caught him with her friend she walked out and never looked back, well there were a few times she had doubts….but that would give away some of the story. Not one, not two, but three guys fell for her…and fell hard. The quiet one, the serious one, the golden retriever happy one. The duo of Cala Riley really brought their A+ game when writing this book. They brought out each personality of the guys and seriously, made you fall in love with them all. Drama - just a smidge Angst - just a smidge Smexy 🔥🔥🔥🌶️🌶️🌶️ HEA ❤️❤️❤️❤️
The Devil's Den is a cute RH story which takes place during October, leading up to Halloween - because it's our FMC's favorite holiday (as it should be). I absolutely love reading Cala Riley, especially the MC stuff, so I'm not surprised that I loved this book. It's honestly just a sweet RH story, but the guys happen to be in an MC and maybe kinda do vague illegal stuff... I believe if this book was longer, there'd be more MC outlaw shenanigans, but that said, the sweetness of this relationship doesn't require extra drama. So if you love a trio seeking their queen - regardless of their lifestyle - Devil's Den is for you!
Thank you for gifting me an advanced reader copy. Review reflective of my personal opinions
I don’t know why but I spent a lot of time while reading this book trying to remember where we had met the guys before & the parts they played. Not really important in the long run, but I do wish we had gotten a bigger glimpse into their world & how it’s run & their rules & friends. Lots of the book dealt more with Esme’s world. Which don’t get me wrong it was fun & exciting & I loved reading about her job as a zookeeper. But I wish we had gotten longer glimpses of their past/present life on all the characters.
I really liked Esme & all the guys. They each had such distinct personalities & I like how formed a cohesive unit. I hope we get to see more of these four in another book. Or even another book on a zookeeper cause that was so interesting to me!
She thought she deserved the life she was living. She never realized that her life could be so much better or that she could find anyone that would treat her like a queen, until she was forced to act on her own one night.
Esme has not had the best life and when she stays in a relationship for too long, she finds that she's been keeping her life in a rut. When she finally dumps her current boyfriend and has to find a way to get him to back off, she finds not only one, but three men that would burn the world for her. Making her life so much better and bringing her out of the shell she's been put in.
I loved this book and the characters were great. I'd love to read more in the Devil's Den world to see if Esme's new friends can find their HEA.
