As an experienced search-and-rescue tracker, Alex Gray had solved his share of mysteries. But beneath his cool Lakota demeanor, Alex was running from his own dark secrets... including a traumatic family history that connected him to a killer. Now someone from his past had returned to play a deadly game. And only one woman could help him....
Sophie Brennan knew that Alex was the key to stopping the string of murders plaguing the Washington mountains. But as the authorities questioned her credibility, she had to resist the almost mystical connection she shared with Alex. For hiding in the shadows, someone was waiting to silence her whispered warnings...forever.
Alex grew up believing his father was a murderer. Now a new series of murders is pointing once again to his father as the killer. Alex must search for the truth as to whether his father is, in fact, guilty, or innocent of these crimes.
This was a very enjoyable book. I liked the sometimes psychic Sophie and search-and-rescue tracker Alex. The story was really good, a bit different, and I loved the ending.
I love learning about other places and cultures and found the Lakota story quite interesting, the characters not so much. Psychic Sophie warns Alex about Yellow birds and then his mother is shot, his father is a murder suspect throw in a large corporation doing the wrong thing and powerful people being corrupt. Ok but a long way from outstanding romance.
This was picked because I thought it would be a quick easy read and I was right. The dynamics between the hero & heroine was good and fun. Found the speed with which they fell for each other a little too fast but hey book was fun.
