ZOEY
Years after the end of the world, my life is falling apart again. This time, I know exactly how to survive in the bugpocalypse. What I don’t know is what to do with the brawny purple alien following me around.

Harb’k isn’t just big and strong, with a protective streak a mile wide, but he’s funny as hell too. I agree to partner up with him at least until I get to my destination, a settlement called Sanctuary. But before we get there, we come across something that could make or break humanity’s future.

Will we be able to contain the threat? Even if we do, will Harb’k still want me if he finds out my secret?

HARB’K
Almost every hunter in my group found his mate but me. Desperate to get away from all the love in the air, I volunteer to scour the region for signs that the scourge—the abominations that brought us to Earth—are evolving. Instead, I discover a lone female navigating the ravaged landscape with enemies at her back.

I convince Zoey to travel with me. She doesn’t know it yet, but she is my mate, and the mate bond is never wrong.

I will move planets for her, but first, I must save this one. Can I convince her to love me before a deadly mutagen destroys everything?

This is a sweet and steamy alien romance with plenty of action and adventure. Please check author's site for content details. Happily ever after, guaranteed.

The bug and zombie apocalypse!

The following ratings are out of 5:
Romance: 🖤💙💜💚🩷
Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📕📗📙📘📔
World building: 🌏🌍🌎🌏🌍
Character development: ☹️😋😀😘🥰

The heroine: Zoey - since the bugpocalypse happened six years ago, she has been living with a nomadic survivor group that moved from place to place, foraging for whatever they could find and often trading with the bigger settlements for things they needed. Her group most often traded with the Sanctuary settlement but was going to start moving toward the Franklin settlement since they were able to rid their town of the nearby nest by working with the Xarc’n hunters.

The Hero: Harb’k - he is from the group of humans and Xarc’n who live and hunt in the Great Plains. They have converted a mini mall to be their base and work to eliminate the alien bugs that have a large nest nearby. The bugs have quite a lot of food stored in their nest because the plains was cattle country when the scourge first arrived. Harb’k had recently been patrolling farther out because he was the one of the few Xarc’n at the base that hadn’t yet found his mate, and he was sick of watching all the love when he still had none.

The story: Zoey’s leader, Connor was pretty open minded about things like the fact that people in Franklin were working with the Xarc’n, but recently his brother Corey had been hanging around and he was from a rogue group who were all recently killed by a Xarc’n warrior and he has some different views. Though most of the group know that Corey’s old group did awful things and most likely deserved what they got, especially since they targeted the warriors and stole their shuttles more than once. When Connor returns one night with friends and kills his brother and some of the others, tying to take the women to offer as gifts to join a militia, Zoey and the other woman run, planning to sabotage Connor and his friends if they try to steal from their other safe houses.

Harb’k came across Zoey a few days back and he knew from her scent that she was his mate. When he saw that she was traveling without her group and that there were some males following her, he tried to step in to help, though Zoey was having none of that. He eventually wears her down and they start traveling together. I liked that she wasn’t so easy to sway to go live with him at his community. She had planned on meeting back up with her friend and staying with one of the other groups.

“It wasn’t just the bugs we had to worry about, but the fungus that worked hand in hand with them. Eating or drinking anything contaminated with it was a death sentence.

First, you get these sores all over your body that smell horrendous, and then you either turn into a slow, brain-dead zombie or a fast, angry one, attacking everyone around you and spreading the disease. Then, when you were ripe for the picking and oozing the fungus from every pore, the stench called in the bugs to finish the job.”

Not only do these main characters have to worry about the zombie fungus, but they have to worry about little pieces of space junk that fell to earth from the mining vessel that had been overrun with mutant fungus. They didn’t know what exactly it was, but the hunter groups and their tech wizards knew that whatever it was, the bugs wanted it, and they had a good idea that it would be something that would again mutate the bugs into stronger foes.

This was the last of the books in this series and the mountains spinoff series so I was kind of hoping that the hunter groups would really start to turn the earth around and defeating the scourge, but it looks like things are just changing. I hope there are either more books in this series or another spinoff series, because Lynnea Lee has really done a fantastic job with this world. I have loved every one of these books, there is just the right amount of action, adventure, suspense, and great storylines in addition to huge hunky male Heroes and steamy romance.

I was able to be an arc reader for this book and I absolutely loved it this is my first book by her and it was a great start. I will definitely be reading allll of her other books. The story was very well written with a good amount of details, I loved the instant awareness they had of eachother so sad the little twist at the end but harb’k deserved that ending😭😭 my little heart. I love alien books and this is one of my new favorites

This was good and I liked that the post-apocalyptic plot got developed further with the new mutants, but the romantic plot was a bit weak.
I would have wished to see more of the island that they had to stay on since it is so important for the hunters and would have been great for further world building.

Some scenes with the MCs felt ridiculous.
Namely this one:

"I blinked as I realized what it was. Harb’k was drawing a cock and balls! I don’t know why I found it so funny. Maybe it was because I’d expected it from a human dude but not a scary Xarc’n warrior, or perhaps it was the severe concentration on his face as he did it, but I burst out into giggles. He grinned at me, for a moment looking much younger. He was having fun! And you know what? So was I!"

An action-packed, great story

When I first got the book and started reading it, I didn’t notice that it was book 12 in what seems to be a series of standalones, taking place in the same universe. I was just intrigued by the blurb, as I generally love alien romances. And to be honest, it was so well-presented, that I didn’t feel, even for a moment, that I have missed something tremendous or that something didn’t make sense, even if I haven’t read a single other book in the series so far. Sure, after noticing that this is book 12, I suspect that some of the main characters of the previous stories make a cameo in this one, but their presence wasn’t at all confusing or overwhelming for me.

That being said, I loved this dystopian story, with a world of Xarc’n warriors, who came to Earth, which is being invaded by bug-like, nasty alien invaders, to eliminate the threat. Some humans are cheering for the help, others are wary and some completely hostile against both alien species. Xarc’n warriors were created artificially for this sole purpose – to save the universe from these centipede-like planet-destructors. With their creators gone, Xarc’n warriors try to continue their mission, but coming to Earth proved to them that there is so much more in life, since they seem to be compatible with human females and able to find their mates among them. Zoey meets Harb’k while she tries to flee from a perilous situation regarding a previous member of her group – a traitor, Corey. Her group was human nomads. She is determined to find asylum in one of the newly created human establishments, the Sanctuary, sabotaging their safe-houses on the way to prevent their usage from Corey. Harb’k is, a formidable Xarc’n warrior, is on a mission to find anomalies among the bug-aliens; dangerous mutations that could be proved fatal for the survival of both the Xarc’n and humans alike. They meet and they become allies, albeit reluctant ones in the eyes of Zoey. But Harb’k sense there is more between them. Could Zoey be his mate? A rollercoaster of events occur, a lot of action, funny moments, moments of awe and moments of pure hotness. In other words, a satisfying story. 4 stars.

ABBY doesn't belong to any towns. She and a group of others are nomads who travel to different cities to find what they can use to trade with other communities. This one night she and her friend get home to find their leader deciding to leave in morning without his brother who left and has been gone a while. That night they are attacked by their leader's brother and she and her friend are the only ones who made it out alive. They decide at a safe house to go to their other safe houses and destroy what those men could take and use.
HARB’K is out scouting for the anomalies that could cause more havoc with the scuttlers and other bugs that have invaded earth. He comes across a female traveling alone. When she gets into a bit of trouble with the bugs he helps her. Then he gets a sniff of her and she sets off something within him.
Now he has to figure out what it means while staying in contact with his community. Abby has her mind set on going to a place that doesn't want any contact with aliens. He is torn because he knows what time he spends with her may be all the time he has with her once she disappears behind the walls of that compound.
So he convinces her to become partners where he will help her and she can help him. Abby is slow to come to terms with what she feels but will she get there in time before something happens to either one of them or she leaves him completely?
Another fantastic story in this series that has the reader so invested in these two.

It's Harb'k's turn to find his special someone and she's a nomad on the run trying to make her way to a notoriously unfriendly-to-aliens outpost. Which is problematic for Harb'k since he, you know, is an alien.

But Harb'k uses his charm (and probably his fighting prowess because human ladies do like watching those Xarc'n destroy bugs) and convinces Zoey to join him in his scouting mission so she doesn't have to travel on foot through bug-infested (and bad human-infested) areas. Zoey's no fool, so she accepted.

On Zoey's end, she doesn't necessarily WANT to go Sanctuary, but with most of her nomad crew now dead and the ones who did it after her, she doesn't have a whole lot of choices. Harb'k's offer to travel together definitely isn't unwelcome since she kind of liked the big guy from their first meeting. He's sexy, funny, and he's pretty darn good at killing bugs.

More than a little danger (both of the bug and human variety), a race against time to stop any mutations that could be springing up, a warrior who will do anything to keep his special lady safe, and a lady who has to trust her honey can deal with all of her perceived flaws so they can find their HEA. *thumbs up*

Treasured by the Hunter is an amazing twelfth book in the Xarc’n Warriors series!
With the scourge still tormenting the bugpocalypse survivors and a new more deadly mutation of them emerging, survival on Earth is still in a tenuous place.
For MFC Zoey meeting Xarc’n warrior MMC Harb’k presents her with some unique problems because every time she turns around he is there.
When her settlement is attacked by other humans and she has to flee along with Riley her friend it is Harb’k who finds her.
They make a good team these two and their interactions produced a few chuckles here and there throughout the story.
I enjoyed the author’s captivating writing, and continued expansion on the world building that introduces more obstacles for the Xarc’n and humans to overcome whilst warriors and human females find each other as mates, because a new world is being created from the ashes of the old for both their species.
There will be danger, intrigue, secrets, new friendships, and challenges prevalent within the story and I was all in for team Harb’k and Zoey’s successful mating at the outcome, which became a heartfelt teary-eyed one, in a good way.

I am so interested and invested in this series! The books in this series are interconnected standalones, so they can be read in any order. But you should read all of them, because they are so good.

Years ago, a giant race of bugs descended upon the Earth, wiping out much of the population and resources. A group of alien warriors was dispatched to clean up the scourge, as they call it. This group of warriors on Earth have decided this will be their home once the scourge is cleaned.

Some of the remaining humans have joined the warriors to fight and live together, while others fear the purple warriors.

Zoey lives with a group of nomads. But when the leader's brother decides to take over, Zoey and her friend Riley are the only ones who escape. They make plans to split up and change the security codes to all of their hiding spots so the brother can't use the resources, then will meet up in the human only colony called Sanctuary.

Harb'k comes upon Zoey and is intrigued by her. He decides to help her reach each location safely, but really hopes to convince her to come back to his settlement with him.

I loved the interaction between Zoey and Harb'k. They complemented each other so well.

I have become a huge fan of Lynnea Lee through this series of books, and was so excited to see she was writing us another one. I have so many exciting thoughts that are running through my mind it is hard to put them all down at once.

Harb'k is the prefect Alpha male with a sweet humorous side to him that puts Zoey at ease. I love that Zoey is not a helpless female and can stand on her own two feet. They make the perfect team as they start to tackle both of their missions together.
The heartbreak that Zoey endures at the beginning and finding love and new friends on her mission makes for an amazing story and of course Lynnea throws in a surprise with her space bugs that makes the story more exciting. I have loved every moment of this whole series and this new book is just as exciting and refreshing. I started this book and couldn't put it down. If you are in the market to try something totally different try this whole series it has the perfect balance between excitement, romance, and laughter throughout them all.
This book is a definite have to read I couldn't recommend it enough!!!

I loved this book! Great world building and wonderful characters. I fell in love with Xarc'n warriors in book one and never looked back. I love the bugapocalypse setting and the dangers and challenges such a world presents. I loved both Zoey and Harb'k. After a betrayal that killed her group, Zoey and her friend Riley escaped and separated to reach a safe place and escape the men hunting them. She's smart, brave, and resourceful. When she [literally] ran into Harb'k she distrusted him, but he was patient and respectful, and she could appreciate him killing the scourge or leading them away from her. She had to stay on the move. I liked Harb'k's personality- pretty much from this first line:

'The alien looked in shock at the door, which was now a crumpled mess in the foyer. He ran a ham-sized hand over his dark hair, looking sheepish, said something in a humorous tone, then chuckled... “Oops. I didn’t mean to do that.”'

This story was a fun, fast-paced adventure. There was suspense, danger, and action, and I was hooked. With humans and hunters pairing up all around him, I was glad Harb'k got his mate. 5 stars.

The Hunter and the Nomad

“I cuddled into his big, brawny chest, feeling the safest and happiest I’d been in a very long time.”

Couldn’t wait to start the 12th book in this, one of my favorite series!! Aliens adjusting to Earth while human and alien ingenuity abound to kill the scourge in a post apocalypse world. And now for new wrinkle as pieces of a mutant ship are being found which could reverse the positive progress against the scourge. Harb’k has been sent on a mission to recover these pieces so they can be analyzed. Zoey’s is on the run after her nomad group was ambushed and they team up. Who could resist Harb’k for long, especially as this cinnamon roll is smoking hot, strong, and one heck of a kisser!! I love the way they interact and physical and emotional scars are immaterial to finding your perfect partner. Sometimes you just like a story with some action, low relationship angst and the good guys winning. Perfection is the epilogue! Lynnea Lee delivers again!!.

The world of the Xarc'n warrior keeps expanding and I cannot get enough. Each story continues to provide a sense of hope amid a bugopocolypse causing humans and Xarc'ns alike to have to battle each day for survival.

In Treasured by the Hunter, we first meet Zoey, a nomad a part of a small human group of survivors. She literally bumps into a purple warrior while scavenging and isn't sure of his intentions. She heard of the warrior who crashed into Sanctuary and made off with one of the women.

I loved Zoey's character as she is more than just a survivor. She puts herself in danger to help keep resources out of the wrong hands.

Small spoiler - story deals with female infertility. Heads up for those sensitive. It is handled well in the story. How the male lead reassures her is wonderful.

I loved getting to see Pip again. Harb'k's shuttle gives Pip a run for his money.

Story offers so much hope where there could just be devastation.

Zoey and Harb’k
Zoey belonged to a nomad group of human survivors of the bugapocalypseu. When the group was attacked, she and Riley were to only ones to escape. Zoey led the bad group of humans away so Riley could escape to Sanctuary,a settlement of humans that don't like or trust hunters. Harb’k, a Xarc'n Warrior, follows Zoey. He's attracted to her and wants to protect her. As they spend more time together, Harb’k forms a mate bond, but Zoey is unaware of it. She's not able to have children and when she learns that Harb’k wants them, she leaves thinking Harb’k could find another. Harb’k will not let Zoey walk away so easily and will follow and protect her always.
I found Harb’k protective, understanding, he has a since of humor, loyal, and sweet. Zoey is strong but also broken, stubborn, and intelligent. The tension between the two are intense and steamy. I loved the ending. I love the books in this series and can't wait for more.

Harb'k was a sweet alien warrior, who was quite humble and a little lonely. After fighting the alien bugs for so long, coming to earth has given Harb'k something else to think about. He sees so many of brothers in arm finding their mates and having children; now he wants the same thing.
Zoey is a woman intent on making it through the bug invasion. She has survived six years of their occupation and made some friends along the way. Friends is all she thinks she will ever be able to have, until she meets Harb'k. Even as she starts to fall for him, the past hurt from her secret, continues to be the reality check on her hope for a HEA.
This story lets the reader know what happened to some of the people from the other settlements. Some previous aliens and humans resurface. There is some action and a little heat.

Zoey and Harb'k are a wonderful addition to the Xark'n warrior world. Set in a dystopian world where humans are hunted by bugs, life is daily struggle for survival. Zoey is a member of a human nomad group hoping to keep one step ahead of the bugs. Harb'k is a Xark'n warrior battling the scourge invading earth. Circumstances in the conflict bring the two together to fight an emerging enemy.

This is not the first book of this series. I have only read one other (so far); but, I did not find it a major hinderance to the overarching storyline. The author builds a carefully crafted world, weaving in the strings from previous books. Harb'k is one of the most lovable heroes I have encountered. Fortunately, Zoey is his perfect match. HEA guaranteed.

Spoiler: the author handles a sensitive subject in a tactful and supportive way.

- Sci-fi romance
- Bugopolis
- Devoted purple, warrior.

I love the Xarc'n Warriors. Especially when they find their other half , their mate.
I also like that the stories are all different. Different on how they meet and how they or in this case how Harb'k learns about his connection to Zoey.
He has "rested the waters" at the other towns and did not get excited the way he did when he met his "partner" , Zoey. She was willing to help him in many ways.
I iked Zoey. Being a nomad and then being betrayed wasn't easy. But she is a survivor. And then having a medical situation that may deter her from finding a mate.
I liked how Moose was a good emotional support.
This is a standalone but it mentions a lot of previous warriors and their mates, so should be read in order.
Plenty of suspense to keep you turning the page. Steam to the eventual romance. And of course the perfect HEA.
I'm hoping Riley finds someone to cuddle up to soon.

Bugpocalypse Romance

Harb’k hasn’t found his mate yet and decides to go out into the wilds of the bugpocalypse to get some distance from all the couples. There are some disturbing changes happening with the bugs and he wants to investigate. It’s on this mission that he finds Zoey, his mate.

Zoey is trying to make it to a settlement called sanctuary. While on her trek, she runs right into a purple alien warrior, Harb’k. He won’t leave her alone so they team up to make it to the settlement together. When they are confronted with a new dangerous threat, they have to rely on each other to survive.

Another great story to add to the series! There’s adventure and action, a new mutant threat, and a sweet romance between Zoey and Harb’k. Loved this one and you should definitely read this series if you haven’t already!

The earth has plunged into the apocalypse due to an invasion of bug-like invaders. And a clean-up crew of alien Xarc'n warriors has followed them to try to save the earth and its inhabitants from annihilation. Getting caught up in this is Zoey, who has found her place in a group of nomads scavenging the abandoned places for goods to trade with the remaining settlements. When her group is killed off by a traitor, she is found by the warrior Harb'k, who wants to partner with her and keep her safe.

I liked this romance. Zoey is strong, intelligent, and resourceful. Harb'k is kind and considerate of her wishes. When feelings between them grow, Zoey pulls away, knowing she can't give him the family he desires. Expect plenty of steam and a HEA.

Fierce purple alien w/big...

A fierce purple alien with a big....heart. I was definitely going to say heart 🍆 lol.

Seriously, I love seeing alien warriors find their human fated mate. I love the adventure it takes me on, the action and intrigue, the culture clashes, the I'm-so-gone-for-this-female sweet scenes that'd never happen in real life, and of course the spicy scenes. I can live vicariously, and it always feels like decisions I'd make with a believable motive (not tstl FMC's). It's fun and uplifting, and always has HEA.

This series just gets me, and fills my monster loving soul. I can't wait for more.

Alternating first POV for MC's
Took me about 2hours to read
213 Pgs of actual story

If I had to compare it to something I've read before I'd say it kinda has Risdaverse by Ruby Dixon vibes.

Once again, Lynnea Lee has brought another fantastic story of the Xarc’n warriors and their fight to rid earth of the scourge that has invaded earth. Harb’k is a warrior who has volunteered to look for any anomalies in the hives but on his way to the area he was designated, he made Zoey a human female, he knows that she is his mate. I thoroughly enjoyed the story of these two characters, and how they worked their way through the difficulties that they faced in fighting the scourge, and eventually Zoey excepting that she had fallen in love with Harb’k and he was her future. I found it was absolutely beautiful that they were to adopt a mixed breed baby at the end.

I absolutely loved Zoey and Harb'k's story! Zoey's from a nomadic group of survivors that were all killed. Zoey and another women (Riley) survive but are being pursued by their attackers. Harb'k is a character who has been in a few books and I love that he's got the best sense of humor. I'm really hoping that Riley gets her own book because she seems like a badass. It's amazing that after twelve books the universe of the Xarc'n/Earth fight the story just keeps getting better as new things are discovered. This is Book 12 and the series does have central plot so you will get more from the story if you read the previous books. Trigger warnings include issues of reproductive issues.

The thing that I love most about this series is that although you know what is coming, each story is very different. Each couple has their own vibe and no two tales are the same. The world remains somewhat dystopian, the bugs are still everywhere and yet you still feel that there is an overwhelming sense of hope at the core of it all. Harb’k is a Xarc’n warrior who has yet to find his mate. He doesn't begrudge his brothers in arms their happiness yet it does rather magnify his own lonely state. In trying to escape it all he find a lone female who is battling alone. She is a fighter, clever and caring. Can he convince her that she is meant to be with him? As ever the dialogue is just brilliant and you are sucked into the action.

Zoey is a beautiful, talented and strong willed woman determined to survive the Alien Bugpocalypse that Earth has become. Alien warriors are helping to destroy the invading bugs. Zoey meets Xarc’K warrior Harb’K , while hunting supplies for her group. Zoey and Riley woke up to chaos and screaming, escape from attack. Zoey is joined by Harb’K, kill attacking bugs , protect Zoey. Zoey and Harb’K are delightful together both are fascinating and very entertaining. They have to face many dangerous challenges, misunderstandings, surprises, Zoey and Riley kidnapped, betrayal and rescue before they can find their destiny and happiness. Great reading, love this series it never fails to amaze, thrill and delight me.

Having Fun During the Bug Apocalypse
Zoey needs to flee her once-safe group - she’s on her own, trying to get to Sanctuary. Harb’k is out searching for anomalies when he comes across Zoey. While she’s initially hesitant, these two eventually decide to travel together and have plenty of fun. What will happen at the end of their journey? I have loved every story in this series, but Harb’k and Zoey might be two of my favourites. The stories get richer as the series and the couples make appearances, but each couple still stands on their own. The bowling alley scene was wonderfully lighthearted in the face of the day-to-day challenges faced by the characters. Another fantastic read by Lynnea Lynn.

I Adore the Xarc'n Hunters!

I have read all 12 of the Xarc'n Warrior books. I adore these big purple hunters! I love the way Lynnea Lee has taken the reader on a journey that covers a span of years as the books begin in the midst of a full blown alien insect invasion and brings us to a point of Earth's inhabitants (terrestrial and extra) building a new society together.

I love the way the warriors discover mates and the fierce way they care for them. I love seeing the hunters grow and adapt as their created way of life is challenged through interacting with humans. I've never wished to be part of an apocalypse, but if I had to choose, I'd be part of the innovative, supportive, cooperative communities that grow up in this series.

what if she thinks he’s better off without her?

Dual 1st person pov, main land US. HEA, 2-3 peppers spice, no kink. Harb’k finds his made when he steps out to protect a female nomad. She ends up alone, and he knows he wants to protect her. When the mate bond starts, she is asleep, and remains unaware, as the arms release her before she wakes. He knows, and realizes she probably doesn’t even understand what it means. And she harbors a secret of her own, one that might make him better of without her. It’s cute, with a lot of Pip butting in, even though it’s not his hunter, but Pip is starting to “become friends” with other not quite as intelligent shuttles, and it’s infecting them…

This series is definitely a must read, each book is better than the one before it, and worth the wait for each new book!! The world building evolves as the series does along with new characters. Things are really looking up in the bugpocalypse until a group of miscreants show up with their prejudices.

Zoey has to separate from her chosen family and try to protect others on her way to safety. Harb'k runs into her and uses his human-learned humor to keep Zoey's stress down while getting close to her.

Cannot wait until the next book as I LOVED the hint of New New Franklin's future and that of the world.

Lynnea Lee’s Treasured by the Hunter is book 12 in the Xarx’n Warriors series and does not disappoint. Zoey and Riley are the only ones left in the survivalist group as they’d been attacked by a rival group. Zoey is saved by Warrior Harb’k and taken back to his compound after a roundabout journey sabotaging safe houses so the enemy can’t get their supplies. Zoey and Harb’k fall for each other, but she realizes he wants a family which she can’t do as she’s not able to have children. I love this series with huge purple warriors who will do anything for their bonded mates.

Another wonderful story I'd loved reading. That nasty Corey is at it again. He attacked the settlement with help from the NEM that Zoey was staying at. This led Zoey and Riley her friend to flee while being chased. While getting supplies and sabotaging the charging stations she's found by Harb’k our Xarc’n warrior. What occurs is a very endearing, touchy story I'd devoured. Our couple were very likable and had chemistry that sizzled. There was angst, romance, lots of bug action and more in this well written story that drew me in. I'd volunteer to read and review this bugapocalypse story I'd received.
