Good quick murder mystery. One of the things I enjoy about the authors writing style, is that she always starts the book with from the POV of the victim, right before the murder happens.) Georgiana Germaine (the Protagonist) is asked by the prime suspects mother, to find the real culprit. She agrees on a trial basis (depending on her instincts after meeting the man in jail.) He doesn't give the best first impression, but the investigator is able to look past his not so good attitude. This is a novella, so it moves quickly, and doesn't get too deep into the character development or backstories. You get a good feel for the characters though. It's also NOT a mystery that is easy to solve by the reader. You may start to get a feeling once it gets close to the big reveal, but by then, it's too late. It's a easy book to read and follow. It is a clean read with no violence on the pages. There is mention of cheating, but no sexual content on the page. Other than that first chapter, it's taken entirely from Georgiana's POV. The events take place during the holiday season, and gifts are mentioned, but it's not what I would call a holiday story. (Just wanted to note that in case that's what you are looking for... don't want anyone disappointed.)
