Save Me : The Poison Ivy Series Book 2

Rate this book
I thought the worst was over.

I thought I’d left the past behind.

But I couldn’t have been more wrong.

Trapped in a remote location, cut off from everyone I trust, I’m left fighting for my life with no way out. Every choice could be my last, and surrendering is not an option.

Then there’s him—the one who pulled me back from the edge before. The one whose touch burned through the darkness and brought me back to life. He doesn’t know where I am, but I can’t stop hoping he’ll save me before it’s too late.

One thing is still Will I choose forgiveness or revenge?

Save Me is book 2 in the Poison Ivy series and the conclusion to Evi and Jax’s journey as a couple. The story will be continued in book 3 with a new couple in the Poison Ivy world.

This book was a different ride than the first in the series. It started with the cliff hanger that made me pick it up instantly after finishing the first. I particularly enjoyed the ending and how everything wrapped up nicely, and some hints in there about how other characters journey might continue, it felt like a satisfying ending with everyone getting what they deserved, whether that was good or bad. However the spice was a bit repeatative at times and I did find I was rushing through parts of it to get to the plot, but everyone's different and I'm not into heaps of spice.

I recieved this book as an ARC and here are my thoughts.

Evi is a woman who has faced unimaginable trials, robbed of her spirit in ways that have forever altered her. She has been reshaped not just in body but at the very essence of her being. Yet, like a true phoenix rising from the ashes, she embarks on a transformative journey, painstakingly piecing herself back together. Though her journey toward recovery is a long and winding path filled with triumphs and setbacks, Evi is determined to embrace a new version of herself, spurred on by a burning desire for revenge against those who aimed to ruin her. Her heart, mind, and soul are dedicated to reclaiming her power and settling old scores. Drawing strength from Jax, the love of her life who would willingly set the world ablaze for her, and from Ryan, her fiercely loyal friend who is as lethal as he is devoted. Evi decides to embark on a journey that could profoundly transform who she once was.

In this book, author E.A. Wilde masterfully explores complex themes, skillfully blending elements of hope and love throughout the storyline. The result is a deeply moving and thought-provoking narrative that resonates long after the final page is turned.

Please do yourself a favor and add this to your tbr.
Book 2 of the poison ivy series was heartbreaking, hot, healing, and revengeful.
I'll do my best to not spoil anything.
We pick up right after that intense cliffhanger in Find Me. The story gets steadily more devastating for Evi. The things she endured had me wanting to go and save her myself. 😭
It was no surprise to who was behind it all. However the things revealed to what exactly happened due to him was just sickening. (Not the mmc don't worry friends)
The aftermath of it all, seeing Evi trying to get back to normal..pretending to be fine...when we know she isn't. It was raw and real. Trauma stays with us deeply and the healing process is a difficult one to navigate. Luckily she has Jax who's simply the best. One to usually take charge knows when to be submissive to help Evi in ways she needs.
Whooo some of these scenes were just
🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵
No one and nothing stopped Jax from pleasing his woman.

The revenge was the best.
And the ending...the epilogue. Guys 🥹😭 the epilogue was quick, but sweet.
I didn’t want this book to end.

This isn't a standalone, so you'd have to read Find Me firstly. However this is the end of Evi and Jax's story, but not the end of the series. Ryan's up next and I'm so freaking excited. We've learned just a few more things about Ryan that just was 🔥
Plus his protectiveness is already chefs kiss...though Evi is with Jax...Ryan will do anything to help protect her as well.
Some call him a golden retriever mc...but he's more of a German shepherd. While Jax is a doberman type bf 🤣

Wow—this book is a wild ride of emotions that I didn’t want to end! (No pun intended lol)

This sequel to Find Me is a masterful next step from author E.A. Wilde. The writing is razor sharp, the characters feel so real, and the story pulls you in from the very first page. It tackles some serious topics, like trauma and recovery, but it’s written with such care that it feels both heartbreaking and empowering at the same time. For an empath like me, the raw emotions felt visceral, and to draw that kind reaction means that it was expertly written.

The character development is top-notch. One character is perfect mix of dangerous and sweet, while another character’s sharp wit adds some perfectly timed humour. Wilde also includes some new characters that add another level of chaos to this morally gray world. And the main villain? Utterly despicable in the most captivating way— someone who made my blood boil and I really loved to hate.

The spice was truly *chef’s kiss*. The steamy scenes are natural, sexy, and never repetitive. They fit the story perfectly and keep things fresh without being over the top. Plus, the plot twists! Every time I thought I knew what was coming, the story threw me for a loop in the best way possible.

This book dives deep into some tough stuff, but it’s done so well that it’s impossible to put down. It’s raw, thrilling, and full of heart—an absolute must-read!

Sooo, I bought Save Me immediately after finishing Find Me, and let me tell you… I DEVOURED this book. Oh my god, I couldn’t get enough. E.A. Wilde has done it again with a story so gripping, so dark, and yet somehow still so full of heart that I was hooked from the very first page.

The pacing? Chef’s kiss. I never once felt bored—there wasn’t a single lull in the story. The twists and turns kept me on my toes, and I genuinely had no idea how things were going to play out. Every moment felt fresh and unpredictable, which is exactly what I want from a thriller.

But what really got me was the balance. Despite the heavy and dark themes (triggers below), there were these incredible moments of levity and hope that had me smiling through the chaos. Wilde knows how to weave in just enough light to make you care deeply about the characters while keeping the tension sky-high.

If Find Me stressed me out, Save Me put me through the wringer—in the best way possible. It’s intense, emotional, and impossible to put down. This series is EVERYTHING I could want as a thriller lover, and I already know I’ll be screaming about it to everyone who’ll listen. Five stars, no question.

Trigger warnings: blood play, death of a loved one (past event), explicit sex scenes, explicit language, hostage situation, kidnapping, knife play, murder, panic attacks/flashbacks, physical assault (on page), PTSD, rape (on page), self-harm, suicidal ideation, torture

Gripping, emotional, captivating and real.

After the cliff hangover of the first book I absolutely needed the next part of this story.

The emotion and trauma within this read was incredibly written, respectful and raw. I was in tears throughout Evi’s healing journey. Her bravery, honesty and resilience through her darkest moments was nothing short of inspirational.

Everyone needs Jax and Ryan in their lifes!! They are the definition of loveable rouges, their banter and respect for eachother is fabulous! Love them so much.

JAX…he can put his baffies under my bed any day. LOVE HIM!!

I loved how the ending left us with a potential 3rd book in the making - no cliffhangers BUT the opportunity to watch more from some of the characters.

Please read the trigger warnings for this, it contains very sensitive and triggering topics.

What do I say about this book? This is not your typical dark romance. Yes, it is spicy and delicious. Yes, we love our MMC! Yes, it is dark. Very dark actually, so brace yourself for emotional damage! (please respect the trigger warnings) BUT, the emotional journey Evi goes on is so real, so honest, so raw, just WOW. Wilde dug deep for this and went places I don't think many writers could go and do it justice. Like the first book, I had trouble putting it down. I think there are pieces of Evi and her journey most women can relate to on some level. Without giving any spoilers, trust me when I say we see Evi rise up from adversity in exactly the way we need to see her rise up! I also want to add that this story, while obviously fictional, has notes in it that speak to the cultural times we are living through, and the injustices that still exist. I think this makes it hit harder, in exactly the right way. Can't wait for more from this author, and more of some other characters who will remain unnamed in this review... but when you read it, you will know! ;)

I rlly enjoyed this book!!! It was sadder and had more bad stuff going on which was written really well!! From the things that happened to Evi to the emotional trauma she felt after it was all written so well!!
This book was filled with trauma but it wasn’t too much were it was too much!
Evi went through so much in this book and by the end she came out stronger than ever and her growth throughout the book was amazing especially after what she went through (which was absolutely disgusting and they deserved everything and more!) and Jax was SO supportive and I looooooved him in this one!! I loved him in the first one but I fell more in love with him in this one!!! He was everything you could have asked for after going through what Evi went through. And Ryan is sooooo freaking funny!!! I loooove him 😆
And I LOOOOOOVED how this book ended!! It couldn’t have ended in a more perfect way!! 🥹❤️

The last book was left on quite the cliffhanger!
The first little bit of this book got me, thinking that Jax and Ryan had saved Evi. Then finding out that it was a dream! Ugh, my heart sunk.
Seeing Evi fight to survive, and then fight to live after they found her was everything. You see her down in the dark of the aftermath. It's not pretty. It's raw and emotional, and real.
I think Ryan is my favourite secondary character - the kitchen scene!!
I could not put this book down.
And seeing her get her revenge/closing to that dark part of her life was perfect.
I was also glad that her brother ended up coming around, for awhile there I had zero respect for him - leaving his sister like that.
These books are all in Ivi's POV, but it does not take away or make the story less without reading Jax's POV. You get a good feel of who he is, what he thinks, etc.
Highly recommend! After you check your TW if needed <3

This is a book where the TW are not to be taken lightly, and it will be a heavy read for those of you who opt to continue. But, if it’s within your comfort zone to do so I hope you choose to read it.
You’d be inhuman if it didn’t cause you some pain, but it’s also real. Too real. These things happen in real life and the author waded through the sensitive topics head on, but in a way they highlights the struggles as much as the healing.

Sometimes Evi needed a good shake, but the emotional roller coaster she goes on takes the reader right along with her. Jax and Evi are healing together and finding their new normal. Sometimes it’s with grace, but it also happens in messy ways (both inside and outside of the bedroom). I hesitate to call this a “dark romance” because their love is not dark, but what happened to them is dark. How they navigate their world is dark.

I received a complementary ARC - thoughts are my own.

Spice: 3/5

This sequel had a very different vibe than the first book, but it was equally compelling and emotionally rich. Evi’s healing journey was portrayed with incredible depth and care, and the patience both Jax and Ryan showed as they supported her made their bond even more impactful. Her resilience was a standout element; she went through so much and fought her way back, and it was beautifully written. Jax’s backstory added a heartbreaking but powerful layer to his connection with Evi, making his character even more memorable. And while Ryan was a standout in book one, he truly shined here with his humor, loyalty, and unwavering support. The subtle hints at future storylines were the perfect finishing touch; I’m already looking forward to what’s next!

Talk about an emotional rollercoaster!! This is an extremely seductive and intensely dark sequel!! Definitely read the trigger warnings before eating this up but I will say the writing was quite sensitive for such hard topics. This series is such a twisted world of obsession, betrayal, kinks and really heavy raw emotion. Evi and Jax are definitely as morally grey as they are addicting to read. I honestly love these two characters but I’m excited to see the blurb hint at a new couple. Will continue to add this to my TBR!!

After finishing book one, I dove straight into book two, and it absolutely did not disappoint! I love how Jax and Evi’s relationship is so beautifully all-in—they’re completely devoted to each other, and it just warms my heart. But let’s talk about Ryan—he might just be my new book boyfriend! His humor had me laughing out loud multiple times, and his dynamic with the others added so much to the story. And that ending? It’s giving strong vibes that a book three could be on the horizon, and if that’s the case, I am so ready for it!

If you liked Find Me, you'll love Save Me. The story picks up from the cliff hanger from book 1 which i loved. It didn’t drag on the cliffhanger feeling which was super satisfying. The dark and gritty romance continues amidst our girl Evi healing from some very dark encounters. Loved the character development and relationship building in this one!

Keep the warnings at the beginning of this book in mind as it dives into the impacts of SA.

Second book in The Poison Ivy series.
I read the ARC for the first book and enjoyed it so much that I had to see what happened next!

I enjoyed the action and twists and turns. A satisfying revenge scene, plemty of spice and a journey of healing and learning to love. Sexy cockney accents and mucled tats.

Mind the trigger warning with this series but I do recommend this book if you enjoy dark themes and plenty of smu

Save Me is the second book of the poison ivy series and it was dark (make sure you check the trigger warnings). I felt this one was a bit slower than the first book, but still great chemistry between Evi and Jax and the spice was still hot!! Got haunting/ hunting Adeline vibes and had a few twists you didn’t see coming. All in all, was quite a good book.

I read the first book in the Poison Ivy series as part of the Sunny Babe PR book tour. After the cliffhanger at the end of Find Me, I had to start reading the second book immediately!

Save Me is even darker than the first book. It picks up right where Find Me ends and we follow Evi as she experiences even more trauma and heartache. This time though, Evi’s found family is already firmly in place to support her and help her find her inner strength. Save Me is book all about healing and accepting yourself.

This was a great conclusion to Evi and Jax’s story and I’m really looking forward to the next book in the Poison Ivy series.

We are back at it with Evi, Jax, and Ryan! Evi undergoes some immense trauma, and who better to save her than the two sexiest, most badass men around! This book is a dark and unsettling example of the consequences of trauma and the hope one can find in those who love them. It’s a heart wrenching ride that will have you crying, screaming, and rejoicing all at once. Buckle up buttercup!

Traumatizing and Beautiful

Jax is the ultimate book boyfriend 😍 I'm obsessed with how loving and caring he is to Evi. The trauma she goes through in these books is enough to break her but he puts her back together in the most beautiful way. These are must reads!

I enjoyed this a bit more than the first one. Waaay different vibe. Was darker, more heartbreaking, I teared up at certain points, and the spice was 👌. Where can I find my own Jax btw. Asking for a friend lol. But ya this book was good and you should definitely read it.

Not as good as the first but still a solid read. The interactions with Tanner were hard to read and I wanted more for his punishment. I didn’t see the twist with Bryce but it was a good plot line!

In Betweenie #9 -

I will once again start my review of dear E. A. Wilde’s book by saying it is not my usual type and I am originally drawn to it because I know the author. BUT I have thoroughly enjoyed reading this series as a Beta reader AND once I get my hot little hands on the paperbacks! I thought thay Save Me especially was extremely well thought out and written in how it handled some seriously difficult and dark topics with such care and nuance. Sometimes the plot to smut ratio is a little heavy on the smut side for me, but you know what, I’m not usually a smut girly so it’s probably perfect for those who are!!!! I did find I was noticing some phrases being reused often in the smut scenes, but tbh I think that probably was because I read this so fast so I was reading them pretty close together.

I love the main character Evi and the way we got to see all of her falls and growth throughout this novel, and I love our boy Jax and how he loves Evi. Genuinely, and I am SO SERIOUS RIGHT NOW, the therapy scenes in this book are the best written therapy scenes I’ve ever read (AND IM A THERAPIST SO I KNOW WHAT IM TALKING ABOUT). Usually therapy in books makes me cringe because it’s so off base from what therapist’s actual goals are and how they interact with clients but this one was CHEFS KISS.

I cannot say I recommend this one to everyone, because it is super dark and super smutty and I just know there are folks who could not handle it, but if you like those things PLEASE grab this book, you will love it. There were a couple chapters that I felt could have been edited a tiny bit more, but the hot scenes and the great plot made up for it tenfold.

———————————————
I beta read this book and am saving a full review until I’ve read the full release when it comes out in paperback but let me tell you now IT WAS GOOOOD!!!

Holy trauma! If the first book was healing and recovery of drug use/abuse/manipulation… this one is overcoming and living with major ptsd from traumatic events (sěxual ãssault/kıdnàpping..) Please read trigger warnings before entering this book! It is beautifully written, with such care and growth and resilience for the MC’s, but it was a tough one. Emotionally draining, but I could not put it down. Reminded me of when I read Hunting Adeline, so much emotional turmoil, but seeing how she started her recovery journey - the slips and the regression, but the overwhelming and unconditional love received when feeling so undeserving… truly mind altering.
