I loved book one but oh boy did I love book two even more!
S.K May really knows how to keep her readers captured throughout the whole book, with one plot twist after another.
The character and relationship development between Larissa and Nik was perfect in book two, I really enjoyed going back into the past and seeing where it all started between them. We saw more of the relationship development between Nik and Roman which I was really happy about and we got more of Roman’s story (fingers are crossed he gets a happy ending)
I loved everything about this book and if you thought the cliffhanger and the major twist in book one was bad… THINK AGAIN. I think book two tops it, ughhhh. I finished about a week ago and I’m still thinking about how book two ended. 😭

This is Book 2 in a thrilling paranormal romance series! It picks up right where book 1 ended, which happened to be a wild ending! I really enjoyed all the twist and turns, SK really keeps you on your toes with her stories!
My favorite aspect of this installment was the relationship between Nik and Larissa, I loved getting to see them together more and learn more about their history. The character development is on point. And I’m a sucker for fated mates 🥰
There’s definitely a lot more twists and a lot more chaos! Another mind blowing cliffhanger leaves you ready for book 3! I’m so exited to find out what happens next.
With vampires, witches, werewolves and demons, this series is perfect for PNR fans!

Just when I thought this series couldn’t possibly get any better it does.
I loved watching Nik and Larissa’s love grow stronger and getting glimpses of the past. These 2 are definitely couple goals and they have my heart. I also loved that we got to see more of Roman and excited to see what’s coming for him.
I thought the cliff hanger for book 1 was bad, this one is worse. This book left me in a book slump for a month, it’s all I could think about.

This was an outstanding sequel to Whispers from the Blood, and continues on from the initial story seamlessly!
The amount of depth and detail within the story itself was masterfully done, and the way in which mythology and paranormal lore was continually woven into the story was fantastic!
The continued character development for all of the main characters through the use of flashbacks to past lives to help explain current actions was a fantastic way to not only build backstory but add depth to the characters themselves.
There was a major betrayal and redemption thing going on throughout the story and the number of twists and turns throughout the book kept you guessing about what would happen next, but never so much that you were confused.
Definitely a recommended read, and I can't wait to read the next book!

So, I got a bit side-tracked with reading this continuation of Nik and Larissa's fierce love story, and honestly I am not sure why because... oh. my. word!
BUT
I restarted reading this book this long weekend and smashed through it in just over a day 😱 The fast-paced storytelling pulled me into their world again, how the characters evolved and grew and the unexpected twists and turns kept me invested up until the final page.
I cannot resist a good fated mates love story and also have a love-hate relationship with cliffhangers! Needless to say, I am super keen for book number three 😱

Another complete knock out novel as we continue our journey with Nik and Larissa. The curse that ties them both together also rips them apart over and over again, but somehow this time is different. Larissa’s power only grows as does her love for Nik, as she pulls at the threads weaved before her birth, trying to uncover the truth. But will it be enough to save her? The supernatural world has never been so exciting , and the emotional roller coaster never more gripping as you find yourself deeply invested in Nik and Larissa’s plight. So much more is to play that meets the eye, and in true S.K May form, we are left begging for book three after a cliffhanger that makes you want to throw a book across the room. If you haven’t yet started this delicious journey why not?!

This was such a step up from the first book. It was action the whole way and I loved it.
There was so much happening in this book, the twists were well timed and you weren't left wondering for too long.
Larissa became a much more likeable character, I struggled with her in the first book but she really grew and found her strength.
The characters interactions and story building improved so much. Although I felt like the different POVs felt a bit flat. The characters tones always felt the same regardless of whose POV you were reading from.
I also was a bit lost on Nik being as powerful as he is but also being in the dark about so much of what was happening in the world. I look forward to this being explained more in book 3.

Whispers from the Curse is book two of the Whispers series and let me tell you, it is a right banger. After being left with a hell of a cliffhanger and a million questions in book one, (Whispers in the Blood) I was pumped for book two.
My questions were answered but I ended up with a plethora of new ones. (Thank god book three is out 😉). New characters (Ducky 😠IYKYK) helped add another layer of intrigue and WTF. The relationships between Nik, Larissa and Roman developed and made my little heart so happy. Plus the spice?! 🫠🥵 (Bring a mop AND a bucket 😜)
If you haven’t started your Whispers journey, you really need to. This series is beautiful to look at. It’s brain tingly good to read. You won’t regret it.

The ending left me in suspense, and rather than try to predict what’s coming, I’m simply eager to dive into the final book and continue this unforgettable journey.

This book is filled with so much love, hate, sex, battles, magic, and chaos!
You won't know who to trust, with a new threat and old ones looming!
If you want a series that leaves you dying for the next book, this is for you!
Beautiful written, wolrd with constant development, characters who have fantastic character development but at the same time stay very true to them selfs.
A fated mates that fight and argues but kisses and makes up at the same time, so real and not just nah they are faited so all is good!

SK May has an incredible ability to hold her reader’s attention. We also got great character development with Nik and Roman. As well as way watching Larissa grow and come into her own as she tries to uncover her place in this world.
Curse has just the right amount of spice we all need and I can’t wait for book 3.
Let me just add Nik to my list of fictional men that is every women’s dream. 🥵

Book 2 is a gripping, atmospheric story that hooked me much more than the first book. The story was fast paced and the mix of mystery, emotion and darker themes made it hard to put down. The twists were unexpected and there were so many moments that stayed with me after I finished. It’s an intense and memorable read, perfect for fans of moody, character-driven stories. I can’t wait for book 3!!
