I had to DNF at 40%. Yeah the plot is good but it didn't hold my interest. I didn't think there was enough about the actual murders. Idk, maybe if I kept going it would have eventually gotten there. Can someone tells me when it starts to get you hooked? There is such thing as too much plot. I can't lie though, I bought this book PURELY from following him on IG and thinking he's HOT AF. I'm not afraid to admit it. The disturbing things I'd let him do 🤣🤣

This book was so different and so good. Was I scared? No. Was I mesmerized by the characters, not particularly. What was so intriguing about this book was that it gave me such a different perspective than most books. Typically you are drawn in by the mystery or the fear, or the authors ability to make you relate to the characters. To get attached to them. I didn’t feel the need to attach myself to anything. I found myself connecting to the villain. Wanting to get in his mind. To DISCONNECT from everything-devoid of all emotion. To dissect the “why” until it made sense when in reality it never really does. It’s not about what drove him to commit the crime. Any good shrink can give you that answer. It’s more the “why” did he make it so heinous? In the Ripper’s famous words, “Why not?”

If you’re a fan of Thriller and Horror books then you need to read this. This is a modern day version of Jack the Ripper written by an actual psychopath and is nothing like the classic that we all know, a lot of suspense and twists pulling you in from the first paragraph and leaving you wanting more from the last line written.

The grammar is atrocious lol.

I wish the scenes where Alyssa and Roman died were more emotional, but I guess when your lack emotional understanding (the author has stated himself that he is a psychopath) it is a little hard to write emotional scenes.
I feel like that’s why the first half of the book was also slow. Jackson is GREAT at setting the scene and being descriptive BUT not so great on the emotional piece. I think that’s why he’ll succeed in writing horror novels.
Would I buy more books by him? Absolutely 🤍
I believe that all he can do is learn and go up from here.

Ok so apart from the book being completely in factual and irrelevant to the actual London Jack the Ripper bar a few names and potentially killing style (but not motive) it was ok… if you remove the idea of this book completely from the legend “Jack the ripper” it actually has an interesting story line and twists at the end… however the author has based the ripper character on himself and his inflated ego comes across in a big way! It’s also too plotty (if that’s a word) obvious details are over described and the book becomes very wordy!
Would I read a part 2? Maybe in the hope the writing style is improved and I’m interested to see where it could go next.
Anyone looking to read this book take it on its own merits and don’t associate it with “jack the ripper” and you have a chance at enjoying most of it.

Thrilling book. The author, being a psychopath himself in reality, knows how to detail specific scenes. Ending- cliffhanger.
Although slightly lacking in depth description of scenarios, where I’m used to reading more descriptive reading, I still couldn’t wait to pick it up and read. Looking forward to reading the second book.
Sorry no spoilers in this one, it was pretty obvious who Jack the Ripper was. (I guessed right anyway!)

I discovered the author how I'm assuming a lot of you did - via Instagram. He posted a video that sucked me in and once I found out he was an author, I had to read his book.
The good:
The last quarter of the book was good and the last few chapters were fantastic.
I enjoyed the perspective of the murderer.
The gruesome parts were detailed well.
The not-so-good:
This book was independently published and very obviously didn't have an editor either.
While I enjoyed the Ripper POV, I wish there would have been more.
The main characters were all unlikable, especially the female.
The police/law stuff was atrocious. A little research to be factual goes a long way.
Besides being annoying, the characters in general weren't consistent. For example, there was a character that was supposed to be really sweet but then turns around and is pretty terrible.
Overall..... if you're a Jax fan, go ahead and read and drool over the dude or whatever. As a reader, I found it "meh". I was prepared to give it two stars, but the last few chapters bumped it up for me.

Jack the Ripper offered an intriguing twist on one of history’s most infamous murder cases. As someone who is always fascinated by this case, I appreciated the author’s unique take on the legend and the mystery surrounding it.
The story moved at a steady pace and kept me turning the pages, eager to see how everything would unfold. There was enough suspense and intrigue to hold my attention throughout, and I enjoyed seeing the familiar case approached from a retelling spin with a more modern perspective.
That said, I found parts of the plot to be fairly predictable. While I was invested in the journey, many of the twists and reveals felt easy to anticipate, which lessened some of the tension for me. I also struggled with the ending, which ultimately left me feeling a bit unsatisfied.
Overall, this was an entertaining read with an interesting premise and enough mystery to keep me engaged, but the predictability and ending prevented it from being a standout read for me.

Like the other 1 star reviews, this is a rough read. I can see why the author self published. The spelling and grammar errors seem to showcase the lack of editing ability and the plot is overlooked by the intense gore. It's clear though the authors own psychopath diagnosis helps with those parts but the book feels like he's inserting his own desires and plans onto the page.
If your a groupie because of his social media and love the book, it makes sense why only women have really given him 5 stars and men look at it more critically but as a non-groupie that loves this genre it's a hard read. Definitely would recommend an editor before the next book is pushed out but since it feels like the first draft was likely the draft he published, I'm sure that advice will go unheard.

I bought this book after following the author on Insta for a whole.
Honestly the Whole book is just him Jerking off over himself and the fact that he is a Psychopath. Its entirely predictible who the killer is right from the moment he is first introduces and the way he describes the killer, again, just jerking off to himself.
The story is relatively weak, and there arent many horror aspects to it despite the descriptions of the killings which are pretty tame aswell.
As others have said there are some grammar mistakes and some sentences that dont make sense, which I dont mind. You can clearly tell that this is his first book and if you look at it objectively without knowing the author its a decent read, but nothing special whatsoever. I wouldnt recommend it to anyone honestly.

Great Read! Going straight to book 2 now!

It was okay. 🤷♀️ The writing wasn't great, and it was fairly obvious who the killer was since he was clearly modeled after the author. I'm sure his writing will get better with the next book, but I won't be reading it since following him on Insta for a while gave me the impression that he's anti-LGBTQ+ and pro-Hitler. (Though I may have misunderstood or perhaps it was meant to be a joke, one I don't find funny.) The author may be attractive and fascinating and an absolute genius at marketing himself but he and his work are not for me.

Nail biting and nightmare building graphic details...a true horror fans delight! Once I started I was hooked. I found myself unable to put it down, except to catch my breath! This modern retelling is terrifying and captivating. From start to finish it felt like hit after hit.(or should I say stab after stab) Already one of my top reads of 2025. Jackson Noble takes you deep into the mind of a true psychopath and it's truly a ride to remember!

It's utterly unhinged brilliantly written the writer could be jack literally puts you in his shoes.

Would give zero stars if I could. The writer definitely needs to get an editor. The grammar and spelling errors are atrocious. Seems like parts of the book are AI generated.You use the whole psychopath thing way to hard. It became so off-putting. Definite “ick” vibes. Please get an editor or at least use word to correct your next book. Actually, Please don’t write anymore.

Not one dull moment!
This book was a thrilling ride, filled with unexpected twists and bloody action that left me breathless. The incredible kills had me on the edge of my seat, and the intricate plot had me puzzled, as if I were living within its pages. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for an exhilarating read!

This is honestly hands down one of thee best thriller books I have read of this year and I have honestly found a favourite author it’s a fast paced book that keeps you on the edge of your seat just when you think you know think again

Book was immersive. It has all the right twists and turns. Descriptive in a great way. There isn't a plan left unthought of, and keeps you on the edge of your seat.
This book doesn't need pacing. The authors' style speaks for itself. Descriptive, tense, and realistic.

Not bad for a first time published book. Slow start but picks up. I was going to purchase his second book until I saw a video clip on Facebook where he is promoting the white race. He mentions that race mixing should be illegal and blond haired blue eyed kids are the best. That did it for me.

Fast paced with a great twist. It does come with trigger warnings & includes lots of violence. I was able to read the entire book in less than 12 hrs so if you like quick stories that will keep you on your toes, this will be a good book to dive into.
