Ray Woodard had been living the life most people only dream of; a beautiful wife, a wonderful daughter, and he had grown his small company into one of the largest defense contractors in the country. His dream becomes a nightmare after a tragic accident claims the life of his beloved daughter. His despair sends him into a downward spiral from which he will lose everything he cared about; and finds himself desiring death rather than face one more day of agony.

In the moment of his most urgent need he is befriended by a young girl who herself is facing her own mortality. Through her courage he attempts to regain control of his life, and with the help of a Korean War veteran and a retired cop, he attempts to help her fulfill her secret wish.

Unknown to Ray, the tragedy that turned his life upside-down was no accident. He has no idea that his attempt to re-enter his former life will make himself and those around him targets of a power hungry madman

Born in 1964, the seventh of eight children, Harry Kaufman grew up on a small farm in Lancaster County Pennsylvania. Having been raised with an old fashioned work ethic instilled by his parents, at the age of sixteen he helped support his family after his father's death. The passing of his father, in addition to his closest childhood friend's death just a few months earlier, gave him a deep appreciation of the importance of living life by one's own standards. This appreciation was deepened even further in 1995 by the death of his mother.

In 1983, he met a young lady who he immediately knew would become his wife. Four weeks after their first date he proposed and she accepted. One year from that day, he and Connie were married. Nearly seventeen years later they are the proud parents of three lovely children.

Throughout the years Harry has worked in various fields ranging from the restaurant industry to foundry work. He also spent several years in masonry construction and the financial services field. After managing a restaurant for three years he has found a home in the computer field. He has found this varied history to be very helpful in his writing.

The Kaufmans continue to reside in Lancaster County.

Ray Woodard was a man who had everything, a great wife, wonderful daughter and a good paying job. Until one day his wonderful life became completely ruined. Ray, his wife and daughter were in a car accident. Ray and his wife survived, but their daughter did not.

devastated, Ray left his wife, job and everything behind. On the streets of Florida for nearly a year living as a bum, feeling as if the accident were his fault and his daughter was dead because of him. Ray wanted to end it all and he would have if it weren't for that one day that would again change his life and make him realize life was worth living.

This book was truly amazing, a great and emotional story. Very touching and I couldn't put the book down. From how the book ended it looks as if there is going to be a sequel and I am definitely going to buy it if a sequel comes out.

This is a great debut novel by author Harry A. Kaufman. I recommend it to everyone.

It wouldn't be proper for me to rate this book...I wrote it. There are some typo's in it due to a lack of professional editing but everyone who has read it has been impressed with the story.
I hope you give it a read and enjoy it too!
