College Roommates #1

Frat House Fling

Rate this book
Most girls wouldn’t dream of setting foot in the infamous Rho Kappa Alpha frat house. Me? I’m moving in.

When my scholarship leaves me stranded for the summer with nowhere to stay, I have no choice but to take a job cooking and cleaning for the most elite—and hottest—fraternity on campus. Living under the same roof as three outrageously attractive and flirtatious frat brothers? That’s a recipe for trouble.

The men of Rho Kappa Alpha are future leaders, the sons of powerful families who shape the world. They’re destined for greatness; I’m just trying to survive the summer. They have no idea their new maid is a fellow student, and I can only imagine the torment if they discover my secret.

Grant is the poster child for wealth and privilege. He thinks he’s God’s gift to women, and with that 6’5” chiseled body, he’s got a point. But he’s an arrogant jerk who makes my life hell… until one day, he doesn’t.

Theo, an architecture major, has dreamy gray eyes and the soul of an artist. He sees beauty in everything—apparently even in me. Under his gaze, I feel like his next masterpiece, and resisting him is an art form of its own.

Then there’s Ian, the quiet, brooding intellectual who prefers books to people. I know there’s more to him than a strong jawline and panty-dropping abs, but he remains a mystery. Still, I can’t shake the feeling that we have more in common than it seems.

My plan is keep my head down, save every penny, earn my degree, and get out of this rich man’s town where I clearly don’t belong.

But my tempting new roommates aren’t making it easy. Falling for one man is a mistake I can’t afford, but all three? That could ruin me.

As a fan of Stephanie Brother, I usually look forward to her books for their steamy scenes, fast pacing, and straightforward plots. However, Frat House Fling left me feeling a little underwhelmed and, honestly, confused.

While the story had some of her trademark spice, it lacked the resolution and cohesion I’ve come to expect. The plot felt disjointed, with new conflicts introduced but never fully addressed. For example, what happened with Bennet? That storyline felt unresolved, and I was left wondering why it was introduced at all. And what about Grant’s family? They seemed strangely unbothered by him leaving the frat, even though it was hinted to be a big deal.

The ending also left me scratching my head. Did I interpret correctly that the boys are open to being with other people? If so, that feels like a major shift that wasn’t explored or explained.

Overall, while this book still had its steamy moments, it lacked the simple yet satisfying storylines that usually make Stephanie Brother’s books such quick and enjoyable reads. Without a clear plot or meaningful resolutions, Frat House Fling felt like it didn’t know what it wanted to be.

Frat House Fling, by Stephanie Brother @stephaniebrotherbooks. I love Stephanie’s books & this one was good!

I liked this book about Hailey, Theo, Ian & Grant! FYI, the book shows it is Multi POV, but 90% of the book is Hailey’s POV. I don't like that the relationship between Hailey & the guys didn't develop for the most part. Lots of issues from a side character (not an MMC). Just seemed very low key. Tropes: Contemporary, Reverse Harem, Boss/Employee, College, Virgin FMC, Slow Burn & Found Family.

Man, this book had me going for a while. I thought Hailey was going to end up with Bennett, and I was so upset about it. I spent half the book trying to figure out exactly how that was supposed to work. I should've known Stephanie wouldn't do me dirty like that!

I have a lot of respect for Hailey. She's doing her absolute best to make it on a scholarship at an expensive school. She has a run of bad luck and ends up agreeing to work at the school's most notorious frat house as a maid and cook, so she'll have a place to stay. But this frat house is full of entitled rich young men who come from a world vastly different to her own, and she struggles with Bennett's expectations and sexism.

I was really proud of Grant for standing up to Bennett and doing right by Hailey. I do wish that their relationship was explored a little more. I was intrigued by the pole dancing scene, and I really wanted to see what would happen from there. And I loved their interactions as Wombat and Night Owl.

Stephanie also delivered what I think is the most impactful line I've read in a book in a long time. Ian told Hailey not to be so hard on herself because she's living life on hard mode. I'm a person who tends to take a lot of blame on myself and push myself harder than I should, and this was something that I really needed to hear. Sometimes, the blame doesn't lie with us; sometimes, life is throwing obstacles in your path. But a life full of obstacles doesn't mean you're less than, it just means you're living life on hard mode.

Hailey (FMC) is down on her luck at the start of this book having to find somewhere to live and no money to do that. She finds herself accepting a live-in job at Rho Kappa Alpha Frat House. Cooking and cleaning. Only the guys that live there (Bennett especially!) are entitled brats in need of growing up to be honest. As the book progressed and you get to know a bit about Theo, Ian and Grant's backstory you get to understand them more. My only problem is that I don't think we learn enough about them and although Bennett did grate on my nerves I was slightly disappointed that he wasn't part of Hailey's Harem. A bit of a slower burn than I expected from this writer but overall I did enjoy reading it.

DNF - I only got maybe 16% into this book before I just couldn't anymore.

Hailey was a little too naïve; to the points where it didn't make logical sense. Sure she took care of her grandfather for ten years and didn't socialize. But she still had the internet and a cell phone...

The first two characters introduced. Grant and Bennett, the cousins. The author introduced them in a solid way of describing their personalities, and then she flopped them. Grant was originally the president of the frat, and then the Bennett was... Grant was originally the stoic one, and Bennett was the flirt. Then it flopped. Unforgivable sin. Also they are not remotely likable. They both scream about to charged with sexual assault, or possibly have been in the past.

There was an over redundancy in the writing style. You only have to tell us once that her sheets are twin size on a King size bed (oh and that changed too. Originally she was sleeping on a king size and then the next moment it's referred to as a full... Full probably makes more sense in a frat.)

This was what you would imagine from the title... entitled young men, being bullies and all around pretentious jerks. Unfortunately, Hailey finds herself accepting a job cleaning and catering to these men - for room and board. This decision puts her in a Cinderella-like position, and while she's doing her best to balance school, her other jobs, and cooking and cleaning in the Frat House, the added stress of the guys mean spirited pranks and teasing begins to take its toll.

I wasn't thrilled with her treatment from the very beginning, and I was glad when things began to turn around for Hailey. There was a slow separation of Grant, Ian and Theo from the other guys in the Frat, and it took them a while to break from Bennett's control, but I am glad with how this one resolved. This is not as spicy as others from this author, and Hailey's individual connection to each of the guys is okay, but not overpowering.

Overall, I did enjoy the read. I received a complimentary copy of this book (thank you) and voluntarily leave my review.

I enjoyed this story, it was a slow heat, and the buildup towards the end was slow, moving, but entertaining. Hailey is attending a very prestigious University and finds herself out of her depth financially as far as the other students there, and when she is told that she has to leave the apartment that she’s sleeping on the couch of, she answers an advertisement for a frat house as a cook and cleaner. There are some conflicts that she has to deal with but overtime she finds herself making friends with three of the frat brothers Ian, Grant and Theo. It was interesting watching their relationship growing until eventually they all moved out on their own and started their own home where they could do all that they needed to get the careers that they were studying for as well as developing their relationship with each other. This is a happy for now scenario, but who knows what they have in store for them for the future.

I was given an advanced copy of this book to read and I am reviewing with my honest and fair opinion.

Hailey is down on her luck and needs a place to live during the summer semester. She takes a job at the elite frat house as a last resort despite her reservations and her terrible experience with the chapter president, Bennett, and his cousin Grant. Theo steps in during the interview and saves her and turns out to be a pretty decent guy. Ian is one of the quiet brothers who is serious about his studies. Grant turns out to be more than the party boy he portrays himself as to Hailey. As her secrets are revealed, they guys step up and start to help her and eventually stand up to their friends on her behalf. This book is more about the friendship that grows between the four of them over the course of a summer and their own personal demons. The steam only comes at the end once they all find their footing.

Pleasantly surprised on how much I ended up enjoying this book.
Definitely could have made it into two books or a longer book simply to better develop the characters and answer a lot of unanswered questions about the guys specifically.

------

I Don't Know Why I Like These Quotes So Much:

“Thank you.” She managed to put a lot of intensity in those two little words.

It had been weird. Very weird. But not unpleasant.

What can I say, I’m not a very good superhero.

“Police,” I shouted in a deep voice.
After a long pause, the music stopped, and Ian appeared, looking tired and grumpy. “If you’re here to arrest me, good. I could use a break.”
“I figured you could use a snack instead.”
“That works, too.”

“Thanks. Can we get back to the kidnapping thing?”

“Am I being kidnapped again?”
“Yep,” he said readily.
“Wait, you’ve kidnapped her before?” Theo wanted to know.
“Yeah, it’s easy,” Ian said. “I’ll show you how.”

I Could Not Put The Book Down! I read this amazing book in one sitting and I Want More!!! Stephanie Brother never fails to deliver on the stories that she gifts us all with. Hailey is a walking, talking, surviving version of The School of Hard Knocks. She’s now a sophomore in a very prestigious college but she has no where to live for the summer. Taking a job at a frat house may not be the wisest move that she’s ever made but then again maybe it is. 6 frat brothers and her in a huge house that she has to clean and then cook dinner for all of them. How hard can that be while she’s secretly working another job and taking a summer course. Well in typical Stephanie Brother style…..tension, hot males, empathy and maybe even a little bit of personal awareness happens. Grab this story and you will learn all about the secrets that go on in Rho Kappa Alpha House and out of it.

Hailey is desperate, her scholarship won't cover her for the summer so she has nowhere to live. Needing a job, she is forced to take a job at a frat despite the attitude during the interview. However, she is desperate for somewhere to live and doesn't want them to know that she is a student as well. Taking the job, she is responsible for cooking and cleaning the house, but of course not being rich she has to learn how to work up to their standards. Thankfully, Theo and Ian are more helpful and on her side, especially when they learn her secret. Grant, despite his attitude during the interview isn't really what he seemed and actually does like Hailey. As her summer working at this frat house continues with its ups and downs, as well as a mystery text conversation so does her chemistry with the three guys.

This was an engaging RH romance that brings Hailey, Theo, Ian and Grant together in a slow burn romance. I have to say I was sweating bullets thinking that the author could somehow redeem Bennett enough to add him to her harem but, thank goodness, that wasn't an issue ;P I really liked how secrets were slowly revealed and how that gelled their relationship as the story unfolds. Hailey connects with all three of the guys and this gets them the happy ending they all deserve. I should mention this is more of a HFN ending but the love is there and so is the commitment. They all have their educations to finish and I think it was wise to not have them all married up at this stage of their lives. I definitely love that Hailey finally got out of 'hard mode' and was able to be kind to herself as she was with her men. Definitely an entertaining reading ride :D

I have always been a fan of Stephanie Brother and this was a cute read. I would say more of a slow burn get to know you kind of book. Whereas in past reads the steam started right from the beginning.

Hailey is a scholarship recipient and works several jobs to make ends meet. And she interviews for a room and board with cleaning and so on for a frat house. With nowhere else to go she takes the job. Privileged sexy hot frat boys are rude and treat her like gum on the bottom of their shoes. Theo is nice and then she meets Ian. Not to mention playboy Grant and this begins the beginning to a HEA.

Hailey is no stranger to working hard so taking on another job to get a roof over her head for the summer and a little extra money for the fall semester is all just part of her college life story the moment. To cook and clean a Frat house for summer, it's either going to swing really bad or just maybe really good. I enjoyed reading this story, it was full of character building, life lessons and steamy chemistry for Hailey, Grant, Ian and Theo. You cannot judge a book by its cover and these characters are so much more than young adults trying to figure themselves out. Although, i have to say, this book cover represents my image of these characters perfectly. Enjoy!.

DNF @12%, the men are absolutely intolerable and I really can’t stand the power dynamic between the men. It’s not even safe for a girl to live with a bunch of men, nor is it realistic that the wouldn’t hire more people to clean and cook knowing that the house is massive and the fact that their rich. Even Ian not just grabbing a bag and showing her the door to her room shows that these men are not gentlemen at all.

If you like rich bratty white frat bros who tease their employee by making her uniform a skimpy maid outfit then sure, this is the one for you. But I don’t want to even get the inkling that these kind of men would be on my radar, definitely not on my top book boyfriends.

She needed a job and a place to stay while going to school. So she takes a nightmare job at the frat house. She has to endure a lot of abuse from the guys at first until the three turn around and change things. But with everything going on she us running herself ragged. It has a lot of emotion, twists and turns, surprises and hard decisions to make. I loved it and highly recommend it. It makes you use a lot of emotions yourself reading it but that is what makes a good read. I received a review copy and voluntarily review it.

This story is about a hard working young college women who will do whatever she has to in order to survive. And when she needs a place to stay during the summer so she can take a class she applies for a job cooking and cleaning for the top frat on campus. But these guys aren't just frat guys. They are the most privileged guys. But she doesn't tell them that she is a student because the college is elite.
These 6 guys are as different as can be and you would think have nothing in common with the girl. But the way they interact makes the story flow.

One hot summer...

Frat House Fling is a hot and steamy RH romance with a sweet and charming slow burn. When Hailey needs a place to live for the summer she ends up taking a job cooking and cleaning at the wealthiest frat house on campus. She is hard working and all about getting her education, degree and a career...leading to a better life. But a girl has to do what she has to do and this is just for one summer. But that decision will lead to a much different life than she imagined before the job interview.

In this book we meet Hailey, Ian, Theo, & Grant. Hailey need a job and a place to live, So she applies for the live in position at the frat house. She figures a job's a job right. Well the guys are planning on things getting a whole lot more with their new live in maid. Can she find a HEA or will the antics of the guys be more than she can handle?

Another amazing story by this author. I would highly recommend it to anyone

Hailey's Story
This was a quick and enjoyable read.
It was definitely a slower burn, but it did fit the storyline.
There was drama, emotional times, a bit of humor, and a bit of spice.
I really liked Hailey. She was hard working and so sweet. I wasn't the biggest fan of some of the guys. So, it was good to see
the relationships change between her and the guys.
Overall, I think it was a good read.

This was a great read! A slow burn with a little spice. My heart really went out to Hailey! She was a sweetheart and it broke my heart how she was treated. I’m really glad things got better and it was good to watch. I’m glad the guys turned around. I figured it was coming but I actually started to wonder. An enjoyable read as always by this author! This is my honest opinion of this complimentary copy of this book

Three frat boys and a virgin

This was actually quite a sweet reverse harem romance, not hugely spicy for the genre, and with some good relationship building between the four main characters. However, the whole thing was let down by the huge number of typing errors which make it obvious the text was not proof read. This went well beyond the occasional typo or two that can slip through the net, which I wouldn't usually mention in a review.

Sweet, that is probably what I would call this book. The story and character development are really good. I love that we got to know the characters better, but this isn't as steamy as other books Stephanie Brother has written. It's not necessarily a bad thing. I think it is refreshing! I like reading how dedicated they all are to their studies, too. It shows that they do value their education, which often seems overlooked in romance novels.

This was a slow burn, college age RH and includes a virgin woman and three frat guys. The book is full of simmering feelings and it is a story of a woman discovering herself and the men who help her to understand her worth. I did enjoy it but I would have loved some additional info about their future and how they stood up for her in the end (I do not want to spoil it for anyone…so that is all I can say!).

I thought this was a good read about Hailey’s grit and determination to live her dream and to make her Grandfather proud. I liked Hailey and how she put any nerves behind her so she could do her best.
It liked the misdirection on who she would be with and I liked how she was the one who made the decisions on when they would take steps to further the relationships.
This was a good and entertaining read.

Frat House Job

With Hailey having no choice but to work at the frat house to pay her tuition, she was bound to meet the guys. This story was full of tension and mixed emotions. It did not satisfy my attention as other books from this author due to some unresolved plot holes. However, it was still a premise that could capture a readers interest.

This book had a more bullying than I expected in a Stephanie Brother romance. It was more of a slow burn, but with sexual tension that was just enough to keep me interested. I sort of wish Grant was a better person than his cousin in more scenes or I wish we got to see him put Bennett in his place, cause he definitely was an asshole for the most part. Overall, I enjoyed this story and it felt very realistic for a frat house storyline.

Hailey’s got moxie - Alternative title

Not quite what I expected. This is more a slooow burn story. Seems quite long, but I couldn’t stop reading. Well, I did pause a couple of times. But, as soon as possible, I was back. Really well written and continually engrossing. Highly recommended. Apparently part of a connected series which I will certainly be looking for. Thank you very much Stephanie.

Story is really good. A poor girl down on her luck and desperate takes a job for the summer as a maid for a high society frat. There are issues and some spicier moments but it is not as spicy as these books usually are. There were chances for some great, spicy scenes and they were missed. It's still going to be a good series.
