I suppose the fact that it arrived in the mail today and I read the entire thing in one sitting says it all, right? I definitely enjoyed it! How could I not?
This heartwarming story follows Anna, a widow finally ready to sell her farm and move on, until she meets the potential buyer, Jeremiah. Due to a misunderstanding with the purchase, Anna decides to rent the property to him instead, in exchange for him doing the repairs. It sounds simple enough, but soon their days become intertwined, and feelings begin to surface.
Still, Anna has always sworn she’d never marry again. After generations of men in her family have died during harvest season, she’s vowed never to love a farmer. So, friendship it is… and maybe that’s all it will ever be. With the town whispering about Jeremiah and his own insecurities holding him back, it seems like happiness is just out of reach... unless they’re both willing to take a chance?!
I absolutely loved this sweet story. Jeremiah has the kindest heart, and little Matthew and Sunny added so sweetness to the story. I also loved seeing matchmaker Susie, working her magic once again! This is forced proximity at its finest, and I enjoyed every minute of it.
I gave it 4.5 stars, rounded to 5.
I received a complimentary copy, and this review reflects my honest opinion.
