After spending ten years in Africa as a missionary, Joe Trulane returns to his hometown with a daughter in tow. What he doesn’t expect is to find his high school sweetheart, Erin Spencer, with a foster daughter…or to hire Erin to tutor his child. Forced to spend time together, neither anticipates the old feelings that reignite. But Erin can’t risk falling for Joe again—he’s returning to Africa when the season ends. As the girls bond, Erin sees the family she once dreamed of. Will this summer show them both that home is where second chances live?
From Love Uplifting stories of faith, forgiveness and hope.
Four Sisters Ranch
Book 1: A Cowgirl's Homecoming Book 2: The Cowboy's Inheritance Book 3: The Sheriff Next Door Book 4: Reuniting with the Cowboy
PS: This is a romance novel that is very into faith and religion considering the main guy character is a pastor. So fair warning on that although it was a nice simple story to read apart from that.
DESCRIPTION: Erin thought she would have her life all figured out; house, husband, kids, career, except she didn’t. But that was not going to deter her from her dream of being a mother even if it means doing foster care to a beautiful girl named Willow. But when her old highschool sweetheart returns to town for the summer and feelings return to both parties they have to see if their rekindling of romance is worth another try. Despite them both having daughters and living in opposite ends of the world. Could Joe really leave his life in Africa to love Erin once more? Or will he leave just like before without giving it another chance?
I really liked this four book series by Julia Ruth! (Four Sisters Ranch) Ms Ruth writes a heartwarming story with all the feels. She has good characters, good storyline, and a sigh worthy ending. The children make the story! Joe Tulane and Erin Spencer split up when Joe chose to go to Africa as a missionary. Now it is ten years later and Joe has returned, with his seven yr old daughter, Ada, in tow, to visit his grandma. Erin is now a school teacher and has become a foster mom to a six yr old girl. Willow is very quiet and shy, while Ada has never met a stranger and has a generous heart. The girls bond immediately and Joe and Erin realize that they still have feelings, but will the mission field tear them apart, again?
Good and sweet. Loved how things were handled. And the two little girls were so cute ! Just not a big fan of the proselytizing part, but other than that, sweet. It was great to not read a book with no real drama and trauma (expect for Willow, poor sweet baby) haha
