What a witty, drama filled, spicy, magical read. That drew me in from the first chapter. It may be a quick read but in no way lacking adventure. And very creative. I never thought I would say this "Great job on the creative way of death." But it was so creative and intriguing. It leaves me asking. Could that have been avoided? Was it real fate? How in the world did Jennifer Edwards come up with that?
The spice and adventure were spot on. But what kept me going was needing to know more about this curse. And are all the women in the family just doomed? And the Academy is just WILD! I am left with so many questions, but thankfully, there is book 2. Because I am hooked.

This book will keep you intrigued all the way throughout it. It definitely has the vibe of how the author describes "John Tucker must die and Harry Potter mix". It is told from multiple main characters points of views but all their story lines mold together beautifully. I thoroughly enjoyed Harbor of Secrets. I loved the usage of magical creatures throughout the story rather than having a bunch of the same type of character. There are a lot of different POVs. Winnie’s character development is probably my favorite in the story. The yearning between Casen and Arielle had me begging for more. Can’t wait to read the next one.

This is why you give indie authors a chance! I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of book 2 from the author so I bought Book 1 and LOVED it! It's such a great read!

The story is so interesting! It centers on the lives of the women of the Harbor family who are doomed to die at the hands of the men they love. One of the main character's grandmothers was killed by a unicorn and her descendants all die in bizarre and tragic ways. If you love mythical creatures, mystery, and romance in a supernatural academy setting, I highly recommend this multiple POV story. Also, who knew a male gorgon could be such an amazing book boyfriend!?!
