Greer loves living life to the fullest, but everything changes when her vampire boyfriend loses control. The more supernatural blood someone has, the higher the chance of not surviving the change.

Somehow Greer does, but her awful ex compels her to keep his secret and orders her out of town. As a fae, she didn't even eat meat, and she certainly has no idea how to survive as a fledgling vampire.

With few choices left, she seeks sanctuary in Black Cove. Only her new house is occupied by an incubus who refuses to leave, and her first attempt at feeding ends up being on a mimic rather than an actual human. No, staying under the radar isn't going so well, considering the next set of eyes she catches belongs to an ancient vampire who heads the town council.

Things go from bad to worse when it becomes painfully clear something went wrong with her transformation.

Will her men be able to save her? Or will her new undead existence end before it even gets the chance to begin?

Greer's Change is a standalone with no cliffhanger set in the same world as Ember's Claim. It is not necessary to read Ember's book to enjoy Greer's novella. More information can always be found in the Author's Note.

ALL. THE. GOOD. FEELS.

This book was amazing. I binge read it because how can you put it down once you start?? That's right. You can't.

I freaking loved this. It was a short, sweet, and to the point read. It had all the spicy you could want, and I could not tell you the number of times I giggled and kicked my feet at these four.

My favorite thing about this was just how funny it was. I was constantly laughing. The dialogue was great, and the characters were all 🤌🤌🤌.

Everyone was so dynamic and fit so well together. Jillian West always writes the best why choose dynamics. They all just complete each other in a really special way. We love us some good monsters 😌.

I love this series, and Greer’s story was so good. I was excited to read this one after finishing Ember’s Claim, and it was better than I expected. I love this whole monster world Jillian West has created, these stories suck you in right from the first page and keep you in it until the very end. I’m already excited for Hazel’s story!!

Solid comfort read. This author always delivers on sweet, attentive, and caring relationships.

Really enjoyed all of these characters. I especially liked that the FMC was a little feisty but also very sweet.

Insta-love, but I'm here for the devoted MMCs.

Didn't like that we didn't get resolution to the MMC trio's previous reason for splitting up their friendship. There were moments here and there where it was partially addressed, but ultimately it was just kind of swept under the rug because they all knew they were her mates and belonged together. Would have liked to have seen them at least talk it out.

Also didn't like that the main conflict with the original vamp who turned her was dealt with so quickly. It seemed like so little after all the build up to that point.

However, the epilogues were adorable?!! I was smiling and kicking my feet while reading them.

No pregnancies or babies, if you like to avoid those things.

• Mixed Species pack
• MFMM
• Accidental and not so accidental bonding
• Paranormal Romance
• Vampire, Mimic, and Incubus

"She is quite cute, even if she’s a disaster."

Ahh! I love being in this world! I've been eagerly waiting for Greer's book! And Jillian didn't disappoint! I binge-read this book in one sitting! It's the perfect length. Just like all the books in this series, this book was easy to get lost in!

This book follows Greer's life after she was changed and abandoned by the vampire that transformed her! Thankfully she falls into the hands of 3 monsters whose morals are pretty gray at times, but when it comes to her they're willing to make an exception. And boy do they! I loved the way Jillian formed Greer's mixed-species pack. They had fit together so well!

I love Jillian's books so much! And Greer's story was so perfect with witty banter, accidental bonding, and spicy voyeurism!

If you've loved the Monstrous World series you will absolutely love Greer's book! And if you haven't even read any of the other series it still makes the perfect standalone!

I mean. COME ON. this book was so good! Again Jillian knocks it out of the park and gives us an amazing monster romance! I love these second gen books and characters! Reign, Seiran and Novak were perfect for Greer and watching their friendship come back together and grow was so fun! Definitely read this one especially if you love monster romances!

“You are a bundle of trouble wrapped up in one beautiful package. Aren’t you, sweet girl?”

Loved isn’t a strong enough word to encompass how uplifting this romance is! You know, going into a Jillian West romance, that her MMCs are going to be ALL IN for their woman, and these three males fit it to a T. Greer has all the luck - mated to an incubus, a mimic, and a sexy vampire.

Greer is a little bit of a hot mess. But that is to be expected when you are forcibly turned into a vampire by your asshole ex, then thrust into the wide world without any guidance when he breaks the maker bond. (Seriously, asshole isn't a strong enough word for that male). Her stumbles were endearing both to me and the males who loved her. I loved her transition from "hot mess" to "badass". No, she's not kicking ass and taking names by the end... but she does learn how to protect herself.

This is a mixed/fast burn and spicy why choose romance that ends in a HEA. It is part of the greater A Monstrous World universe but has fewer character crossovers than other books. It can be read as a complete standalone, but as I LOVE all the books in the series, I must recommend reading them all.

I like pretty much whatever this author writes, but I do have a soft spot for her paranormal work. I love the world these stories are set in, with towns with mixed populations, the concept of hybrids, the fascinating clubs, … It has the same uncomplicated vibe so many of her books have, with protective men and lovable women, but the paranormal element just adds that little extra I truly love.

I already knew I would love Greer based on the blurb of this book, and she absolutely didn’t disappoint. She’s a bit of a mess at times, but with a huge heart and such a lovely personality it’s easy to understand why her men fall so fast and hard for her. All three of these men are exactly what I want when I want to read a story with protective men draped in green flags, but our incubus is probably my favorite.

This author adds plenty of epilogues to her stories, and I highly recommend reading the ones for this standalone. They are original, and make it clear having a satisfying happy ever after can come in many forms.

I knew I was going to enjoy this book but man oh man I didn’t realize I would love it as much as I did. I devoured this book in less than a day. I could not put it down. For a longer novella it had excellent pacing and enough development that I don’t feel like I missed out on anything. I fell in love with all the characters and was so happy to see some past characters to lead us into future books. This series always gets me back to a PNR mood and I’m not unhappy about it. Another excellent read.

An incubus, a mimic and a vampire walk into a bar.....

Seriously though, I think this is my favourite Jillain West book so far. This is a second gen story, set in the same world as Embers claim but is a standalone. There are some character cross overs but it's not necessarily to have read them all.

Greer shouldn't have survived being turned by her ex, but when she does he compels her to leave everyone and everything to live in Black Cove.

Things go from bad to worse when its clear something went wrong with her transformation. Luckily she has new found harem at hand!

This book was funny whilst still being dramatic, the spice was on point and kept me wanting to read more.

The beginning was okay but I lost interest towards the end after they all got together. Frankly, I couldn’t even understand the physics of their sex scenes so. Also, the sexual intimacy was too sudden and not set up properly in most scenes. In the first(!) sex scene, she stumbles on the man who she thinks is a squatter in her home, masturbating naked in the living room and instead of getting a shotgun she jumps him and gives him head?? Umm.. you don’t even know him, young lady. They had nothing going on before that. A couple conversations but not even flirting that I could see.

In fact, thats a huge problem of this ‘romance’. None of these men know anything about her other than she’s been changed illegally but they’re completely willing to ‘spend eternity’ with her. No interests covered, no personal conversations had. She doesn’t know anything about them either. How is this reasonable in any way?

A cute-ish, sweet-ish story that's maybe 50% smut, 50% plot

I say it's 50% plot, 50% smut, but it may be closer to 60/40? In reality, the book would definitely be a lot shorter if the spicier scenes were removed. I'm not saying it's a lot of smut, exactly. It's not "burn your knickers" spicy, but there's a lot of intimate scenes, feeding scenes, etc.

The plot is basically about a siren named Greer who was changed into a vampire by her ex and is left to her own devices. He didn't teach her HOW to be a vampire. She was compelled to leave the town and not tell anyone who changed her. It ended up she wasn't even CHANGED properly, so a vampire in her new town has to redo it. For whatever reason, her ex still has it out for her, however, and is sending people after her and will likely make a move himself, at some point. Considering how long the book is, besides mentioning that Greer is afraid of him, it's not brought up a ton. There's some relationship building between three of the guys, and the rest is filled in by feeding, being intimate, etc.

I didn't mind the story, but if you want action, this doesn't have a lot of it. For a more simple read about an innocent, sweet FMC who gets a bit murdery when someone gets too close to her men (who are only focused on her), then by all means, check this out!

I needed this to be a full book and not a shorter one. I loved it. spoilers.

I wanted so much more of these guys! I lived Greer and her overall personality and approach to her circumstances. I wanted to know more about her and what made her the character she became. We get the glimpse obviously from her family and I know this is connected to other books so I guess I can get the information elsewhere but I was just so curious. The same goes for the guys too. I want to know what their lives were like before Greer. They were friends for centuries and we barely get information.

I will say the death scene for Cole was underwhelming and may be my biggest complaint about the book. The build up of how tough it would be, Novak stressing about it and then he just dies. We don't find out if he's super old, or why he turned her, or really anything of substance about him just that he was mad and died.

Overall though I needed this to pull me out of a reading slump! It was a fun read

I love this series so much!

Greer is so lovable, Reign is so fun, and Seiran is so sweet—I was obsessed with him immediately. And Novak! Vampires are my weakness, make him a little grumpy and overprotective to top it off and I'm sold.

Something I really loved was how much the guys cared for each other outside of their relationship with Greer. And their little schemes to make her happy!! I had so much fun getting to know this group and I hope we get to see more of them in Hazel's book!

My only complaint is that I wanted [redacted] to suffer more lol but the way it was handled definitely makes this book a fairly stress free read and that's always good to have!

I hope Jillian west never stops writing monster romance. I'm so excited for Rogue and Hazel's stories!

Greer is such a little baddie vamp! I love how sassy she is with her mates and how each of them are so obsessed with her. I gotta say though, daddy Novak? I’m always a sucker for a daddy vamp moment especially when he’s teaching her how to enjoy this new life she was forced into.

I thought she had a great combo of mates with complimentary personalities and she was the best mix of first and sweet. Really enjoyed this one! Definitely recommend to read the rest of the series as you do get characters pop up from the previous books, but you can read it as a standalone as well.

"The missing piece to fit three broken monsters together again."

Jillian did it again with this story. I just love the way she writes paranormal. I love Greer and it is awful what she is going through. It is great when she finds her men. The only thing that I didn't like is the problem with Cole ended way too quickly. I also wonder how old Cole was since Novak couldn't beat Cole's compulsion on Greer. Overall I can't wait for more from this world.

I loved this book!

I love how original Jillian West is with the world's she builds. Serian was such a sweetheart. Greer moved to her grandmother's house after her ex turned her without her permission and compelled her to leave. I don't want to say too much and give it all away.

All 3 MMCs were so sweet! It was amazing to see Greer bring them all together again. You could really feel the emotions of the characters.

Overall, this was a great novella. If you like anything Jillian writes, you will love this! It's easy to read, flows, and is low angst. If you've never read a Jillian West book, read this and then go read her other books. You won't be disappointed. She is truly an amazing author.

I absolutely adored Greer! She's a siren, and her whole life gets turned upside down when she's turned into a vampire. Now she's got to quit her job, move, and figure out how to survive.

I'm always so freaking happy when Jillian West releases a new book. This one hooked me from the get-go. I just couldn't put it down. Greer is so clumsy and sweet. She's a disaster of a vampire. In her defense, no one has guided through her new life.

Her men definitely fall first. They're captivated by her and only fall harder for her the more they get to know her. This one is a bit more of a fast burn. The 🌶 scenes are a bit earlier on, and the relationships follow. I loved seeing Hazel in this one. She terrified Greer's mates, and I can't freaking wait to read her book because omg the little info we get has left me so intrigued.

@jillianwestauthor brings us back into the Monstrous World with a second generation story. Greer's book was highly anticipated and everything I wanted it to be but so much more! You can never go wrong with one of Jillians books and of course this is no exception. Greers story brings you on her journey from an ex that loses control to 3 amazing mates who are all in and would do anything for their girl.

This book is a standalone so you don't need to read Embers Claim before reading about Greer but highly recommend you read the whole world from the start because it's worth it and you get to see some crossover characters!

I know Jillian is known well for her omegaverse novels, but man. Her venture into paranormal is fantastic.

I loved the concept of fated mates without the addition of omega/alpha traits. If this is what Jillian can write with her first full paranormal venture then I can’t wait to see what she writes with Hazels story.

Without giving away too much, this story follows a fledgling vampire - Greer, who’s also half siren as she navigates her way through vampirism after being abandoned by her maker. She comes across an incubus, a wraith and a vampire. All of which she forms bonds with, as their supernatural links clue them into being fated mates. The men, no questions asked would 🔥 the world for their little siren vamp if it meant that she would be safe and happy.

If you’re looking for a paranormal why choose romance with fated mates, LOTS of spice, men who would do anything to see their mate happy and protected, and a woman who learns to find her feet once more after having to leave what she knew behind. Then this is for you, it is an HEA and there are no cliffhangers.

I was given this novel as an ARC by Jillian and her team. All above thoughts & opinions are my own.

As a standalone, this is pretty awful. People from previous installments in this verse keep coming in and out of the story (often without any real substance to their mentions) with no introductions, and their presence serves no purpose beyond fan service and the setting up for future installments. Consequently, you’re thrown out of the story whenever this happens if you haven’t read previous books in the verse, your memory of the previous books is a bit dull, or, like me, you only read some of them.

Moreover, while this is advertised as a novella, it is 200+ pages long, which is the size of some fully-realized stories. Yet here, it seems like the label « novella » was used as a shield against critiques regarding poor character and relationship building, as well as the lack of at least a summary of world building. I still don’t even really understand what a mimic is or what it can do, let alone the defining characteristics of an incubus and vampire within this verse, or how the paranormal of this verse coexist in human society — and I actually read and/or skimmed through the majority of the author’s previous works in this verse, so theoretically I should have more than enough info going into this standalone than new readers.

I think this book, and series overall, would have more accurately set readers’ expectations had it not been advertised as a standalone. This series very much feels more like a fan service to those who loved the author’s previous Monstrous World series, and wanted to know how the progeny of that series’ main characters fared. If you’re already a fan of the author’s previous works, you might very well love this book and series. If you’re new, just expect to be entering into a pre-established world with the bare bones of a story.

🌶️ 🌶️ 🌶️ Spice

Greer’s Change is book 2 in a Monstrous World – The Next Gen and one I couldn’t wait to start. The story centers around Greer, a siren turned into a vampire and MMC’s Novak an ancient vampire who has no interest in taking on a progeny, Reign a mimic who’s not always who he seems and Seiran an incubus who is painfully optimistic and knits and crochets to pass the time. Each MMC adds a layer of complexity to Greer’s new life.

I absolutely loved this book, and it lived up to every Jillian West expectation that I have! If you haven’t yet given her PNR books a try I highly recommend that you do. If you love OV, as much as me I promise you won’t be disappointed with her Monstrous World books. Surprisingly one of the things I loved the most about this book is that there are no babies involved, which surprised the heck out of me, because I live for all the Jillian babies. The spice as always was spicing and was probably one of my favorite PNR spicy books just because well read what happens when you bring two vampires, a mimic and an incubus together. I also really enjoyed the storyline and as usual the cast of supporting characters was AWESOME! I’m looking at you Hazel.

Overall, this book is a rollercoaster of emotions with well-developed characters and a gripping plot. The dynamics between Greer and her men—Novak, Reign, and Seiran—are compelling and keep you hooked until the very end. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a quick paranormal read.

Let me preface this that I normally am a full on obsessed fan girl for all things Jillian West writes. Unfortunately that excitement didn’t quite carry over to this book. I’m not sure if it’s due to a bunch of stress in my personal life, or that I just couldn’t vibe with the characters but this book felt a bit flat for me and I struggled to get into it compared to other books by this author.

Greer was a side character from the first book in the series, but she didn’t make much of an impression. Like her role in the world hadn’t been well established to make me care about her story. I also felt that there could have been more depth to the conflict with her ex. There also could have been more exploration into the dynamic between Reign, Seiran, and Novak. Five years+ of a rift is glued back together in a day thanks to Greer? It’s RH so o want to see tension as they adjust to living together!

Honestly, this book would be better suited to a full length novel than a novella because I wanted to see way more interaction and backstory to the characters! I love her take on PNR and maybe I’m greedy but I just wanted MORE! It felt rushed, and I would honestly love a second book where we get to see more of these characters (like more mimic action!)

I did enjoy the spice, as usual! This is a why choose so there are scenes with multiple partners, including some exhibitionism. I rate the spice as 3 (good balance between spice and plot) with the book at an overall 3.5. It’s still a good book, but compared to other books by Jillian West it just didn’t quite have the same level of depth.

It just sounded like a really fun and interesting monster story so I couldn’t wait to jump into it, especially after learning that it is a standalone with no cliffhangers. It was an addictive book and hard to put down. I loved how it was written and getting everyone’s POV. I do wish we had a little bit more in the end when it came to these guys, especially Novak’s POV. It just kind of felt like we went from him denying his feelings for Greer, to saving her life, to being jealous of the other guys’ connection to her. It was just a bit all over the place and I wish we had a little bit more time in his POV or at least communication between the two. Plus, the whole thing with the vampire that turned Greer was a bit confusing. I feel like it wrapped up too easily and I wish it took longer to get to that point or had a bit more satisfying ending with him. Plus, I wish we learned more about who he is or who turned him. We didn’t really get to learn that info, but the questions were asked multiple times throughout the book. But I was hooked on this book and could not put it down and had to jump right into The Monster’s Den since it’s the actual book 1 to the series. Greer can be read as a complete standalone, but we do meet a lot of other characters from the main series, and I feel like the little things/connections with them are kind of lost on me since I haven’t read them yet so now, I’m going back to the actual series and reading it.

BLOOD BATH...
I didn't expect this book to have that much blood but here we are, AND I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IITTT!! 😍😍

Greer's Change is very twisted and gorey but funny and quirky I LOVE IT SO MUCH 🤣🤣
It's like those girly sleep over movies portrayal with all the pink sheets silky night gowns and fluffy feathers but their jumping on a pool blood with dead bodies surrounding the girls 😝🤣

Anyway let's talk about the dudes now 🤣🤣
I remember leaving a comment in one of Jillian Wests post about Seiran having a knitting hobby. And basically say that he'll be cuter when he has cats and knitted them some clothing 🤣🤣
AND LOOOOAANNNDDBEEHOOOLLDD HE CALLS GREER KITTEN AAAKKKHH
I'M SOO DEAD 🥲🥲😍😍
And don't get me started with the tattooed blond 🥲🥲
Reeiiggnn my guy the badboy with a soft spot MELTING 😍😍
And last but not least the high and mighty Novak 😍
Mister tough guy and independent, but always fold for her mate 🥲🥲 who doesn't love that 😍😍

The whole story is bloody like JAM PACK FULL OF BLOOD so if you're a bit squimish with blood maybe keep that in mind.
There are a few action scene but it's not as heavy.
So over all it's a fluffy bloody romance for sure 🤣
