Lola B. Marie is a Midwest-born indie romance author who writes stories with heart, heat, and a touch of chaos. She believes in empathy, equality, and the power of fiction to make people feel seen.

A lifelong romance reader and self-proclaimed “pissy Pisces,” Lola never imagined her daydreams would turn into published novels—but now she’s all in. When she’s not writing, she’s probably hanging out at her favorite local bookstore, Bedpost Books, dominating her fantasy football league, or overanalyzing a podcast while sipping Dr. Pepper and snacking on gummy candy.

She lives in the Midwest with her husband, son, and a house full of male pets who ensure she’s always outnumbered but never bored.

Lola is proudly pro-diversity, pro-women, pro-choice, pro-LGBTQIA+, pro-science, and anti-hate—because stories should be inclusive, and love should never have limits.

This little novella was the perfect afternoon read that combines the right amount of spice, plot, emotion, and romance that keeps you reading.

I devoured this in just a couple of hours. I caught myself feeling the emotions of Emery through the story; smiling, cringing, and even fighting tears at the end.

The spice was wonderfully written, not making you roll your eyes at the obvious fictional scenario but coming across realistic and relatable.

While I had an inkling about where the story would end, it didn't remove the conflicting sting of reading it. I knew it was where the story needed to go, and I loved how beautifully it was executed.

This novella touches on the battle of depression in a tasteful way while also showing the not so pretty sides of it that most people try to shy away from.

The alternative perspective found in the epilogue was much needed and helped add a touch of closure.

Overall, I highly recommend this quick, enjoyable read.

A Soul Seen is a paranormal erotic novella, please check triggers.

Emery’s little sister is getting married, and the last stop on their ghost tour bachelorette party, is a hotel. Patrick, died in the late 1800’s and is rumored to be “flirty” with the women who stay at the hotel. As soon as she got there, Emery swore she felt someone caressing her. As she is sleeping, she somehow passes through the veil and enters into Patrick’s realm, where he is just as real as she is. However, when she’s awake, he is nothing more than ghostly touches & cold spots. There’s just one issue, she can’t get this ghost out of her mind.

This honestly was a fun, super quick read. It was sweet too. Patrick is super charming and who can pass up a hot & charming ghost? The ending is predictable, but I still enjoyed it!

I smile and close my eyes as I whisper, "Stay with me?"
It's a long moment, as his lips gently ghost over each of my closed eyes. "Until the end."
The amount of emotional damage I have experienced in just one hour is actually insane.
I desperately need to read more about Emery and Patrick.
Please girl, I am begging you to write more books just like this, even if they are just short stories like this one. I will buy all of them.
Now I'm going to go cry myself to sleep.
XOXO 🖤

I loved this book! it was well paced, the characters felt relevant and relatable despite it being a novella. The story had me hooked from the start and I loved every minute of the two and a half hours I took to read it (we won't talk about how I teared up at the end even though I knew what had to happen)! I wish I could've had another few hundred pages of this book before it reached it's end! I'm so excited to dig into the other titles Lola B. Marie will undoubtedly grace us with!

First thing is first - my best friend wrote a book! The whisper of “remind me to tell you about my ghost porn idea” in the middle of a ghost tour has turned into this incredible work of art.

A Soul Seen will grab your heart in an instant and not let go. You have characters who you will love, you have mental heath representation that isn’t cringey, and you have some very well written spice to go with the love story.

I read this in one sitting and keep wanting to ask for more of Patrick and Emery!

Lola, I am so fucking proud of you. I cannot wait for this to be released into the world and watch everyone else fall in love with this story like I have ❤️

Just wow! This author has always had a way with words, and this is no exception.
As a spicy book loving, hopeless romantic, who also battles with depression, this was a sweet little novella to get lost in. Every emotion was felt, and the beautiful detail allowed me to visualize the story from start to finish.
The ending was as heartwarming as it was heartbreaking. Well done!

I haven't had an ending of a romance book make me cry in awhile.. oh my goodness 🥺🥹💙

"Your light is a beacon." This is literally my favorite line in the entire novella and I cried at this moment.

I'm now convinced my other half also died centuries ago and is stuck in a room waiting for me... 🤭

Also... THE EPILOGUE!! My heart 🥺

I cant rate 3.5 stars but that is my rating for this book! ONLY reason it didn't get higher is because im not a HUGE fan of novellas. Other than that great read. This might be a short novella at just 60 pages, but don’t underestimate it—this little book brings the spice. From the start, it delivers an intense, steamy vibe that definitely doesn’t hold back, especially for such a quick read. What stood out to me was how much heat and intrigue Lola Marie packed into such a small space. The chemistry between the characters is undeniable, and the steamy moments are bold, vivid, and take center stage without feeling overdone. If you're looking for a fast read that still brings the tension, connection, and a whole lot of spice, this is one to check out. Perfect for when you're short on time but still want something that leaves your heart racing.

What. The. Fuck. What an array of emotions this gave me. Was that a happy ending? Yes. Was that a tragic ending? Also, yes. Am I mad at Emery? Sure. Am I happy for her? ALSO, YES.

Seriously, though.. what a unique and fun read!

A Soul Seen by Lola B Marie
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🌟
🌶🌶🌶

I was not prepared for the beta read of this author's debut novella.

You know how every so often, you'll be reading something and you feel it slowly crawl between your ribs and wiggle it's way in, taking root in your heart? And then it's over and you spend an obnoxious amount of time just thinking about it because you can't believe it's over? And in that moment you know that story, and those characters, will be with you for a very very long time?

If your craving that feeling, I highly suggest you go preorder this amazing short story RIGHT now.

I won't lie, when she told me she had a story for a ghost romance i was like ohhh okay! THIS 👏🏻 WAS 👏🏻 SO 👏🏻 MUCH 👏🏻 MORE 👏🏻

I was literally in her DMs groveling for more.

Wow! For such a short book, this novella was one of the most enticing paranormal romances I have ever read! Lola is such a sweet human and I was so excited to learn she was writing a book! As soon as I received the email with the ARC copy, I immediately started reading until it was finished. With this being her writing debut I cannot wait to see what else she has up her sleeves! This was truly amazing!

Lola’s debut novella hit all the marks of an amazing read. I was lucky enough to be a beta reader and boy, was I actually lucky! This read was quick, had an incredible plot, and even had some spice sprinkled in. The storyline is one that you don’t see often, and it kept me hooked from the first page. My only wish for A Soul Seen is that it was longer 😍 I can’t wait to see what else Lola comes up with because it’s an immediate add to my TBR. READ THIS. You will be so glad you did!

What a fantastic debut novella for this new author! My only “complaint” is that I want more…but I will (not so) patiently wait for her next book. This paranormal romance will gut you in a beautifully tragic way (be sure to check the TW). If you’re looking for a book that will make you feel all the feels - this is it. Passion, spice 🌶️🌶️🌶️, sadness, bittersweet happiness, and love that truly knows no limits!

My first ever paranormal romance and Lola B. Marie KILLED IT!!! A Soul Seen is fast paced and full of the necessary details to keep you engaged with the plot. The main female character was so relatable as she discussed her struggles with depression, and her need to leave a party early (same girl, same). My main takeaway? Everyone wants to feel that unconditional love. Everyone wants to feel seen. As humans, we long for that connection. This book relays that message well.

This book hooked me from the very first sentence. It’s unlike anything I’ve ever read, and I did NOT want it to end.

The author’s writing style is smooth and seemingly effortless, drawing me in with words that felt like an embrace.

The story has unexpected twists, keeping me intrigued at every turn. Beyond that, the author tackles real-life issues with depth and sensitivity, all while weaving a beautifully intricate love story.

It’s an unforgettable read.

This small novel is less than 100 pages and consists of so much emotion and fast paced romance. This isn’t your typical romance so make sure to read the triggers before starting. The triggers do spoil the story just a bit because once you start reading, you’re able to predict the ending.

Nonetheless, I still enjoyed the intensity of the romance and spice in this book. I have been really into reading novellas for this reason especially when it’s well written. It takes a special skill to write such a small book but be able to exhibit the emotion and pain between two characters.

I recommend this book if you’re looking for a steamy, intense love story that features the paranormal world.

Holy shit. This was the shortest emotional torment I've ever been through. To have that love for small bursts of time is awful. Paranormal, love, spicy scenes, and a plot - LOVE!!
Thank you for this amazing book. Short, emotional, and fantastic!

This Novella was so good. It draws you in and doesn’t let go till the very last sentence. I loved how relatable Emery was as depression is sometimes hard to explain. It was an emotional roller coaster I was so glad I got to ride.

Lola did amazing on this and I can’t wait for her next book!
