One Bed for the Bluestocking

Rate this book
It’s the worst idea Kate Weatherby has ever had.

Back when Kate and her sisters were penniless and despised as the Weatherby Wallflowers, they made a pact to apply for whatever respectable positions they could find. Now, one of the employers who initially rejected Kate, an academic at the University of Edinburgh looking for a scientific illustrator, has written back, eager to hire her.

There’s just one problem.

The holder of the position must be enrolled at the University, which does not admit women. Kate knows that donning breeches and trying to pass herself off as a young man is a terrible idea. But the sting of her father stealing credit for her illustrations has never faded. Yearning to see if she can succeed in the scientific world on her own merits, Kate accepts the position and heads north to Scotland.

One problem? Make that two.

It’s hard enough passing herself off as “Kit Witherspoon.” But the naturalist who hired Kate, Nathaniel Sterling, isn’t the fusty old professor she imagined. Oh, no—Nathaniel is young, kind, brilliantly clever, and heart-stoppingly handsome in precisely the tweedy way Kate finds irresistible.

And, to make matters worse, an opportunity has just arisen—a trip to the Outer Hebrides, to document the flora and fauna particular to the islands. Nathaniel and Kate will be going alone.

And, academic budgets being what they are, they’re expected to share a room.

One Bed for the Bluestocking is book 3 in the Weatherby Wallflowers quartet. A Wallflower Never Surrenders (book 1) and Snowbound with the Scoundrel (book 2) are now available. Be sure to look for book 4, How He Won His Wallflower, coming soon!

After reading Black Beauty for the 1,497th time, Courtney McCaskill was inspired to write her own stories. Reviews of her early work were mixed, with her fourth-grade teacher, Ms. Compton, saying, “Please stop writing all of your assignments from the point of view of a horse.”

Today, Courtney lives in Austin, Texas with the hero of her own story, who holds the distinction of being the world’s most sarcastic pediatrician. She is reliably informed by her six-year-old son that she gives THE BEST hugs, “because you’re so squishy, Mommy.” When she’s not busy almost burning down her house attempting to make a traditional Christmas pudding, she enjoys playing the piano, learning everything there is to know about Kodiak bears, and of course, curling up with a great book! I really had a lot of fun with Nathaniel and Kate. They were like a breath of fresh air just when you needed it.

Kate is an illustrator, and she wants to make a name for herself. Sadly, this is not entirely possible, because women are not accepted to universities. This is when she decides to go undercover as a boy at an elite Edinburgh university. There she will finally be able to learn to master her talent. But when she sees her handsome professor, she falls in love with him on the spot.

When Nathaniel sees the young man, he thinks he is a bit strange. But he spots his talent straight away. When they go on a mission to illustrate the wildlife, he begins to have some feelings towards him. But when he finds out that the young man is actually a woman, he is beyond happy. He doesn't react the way I expected him. He impressed me by being so happy and that he wanted to marry Kate straight away.

We also had some passionate and spicy scenes between those two. They both waited enough time, and it was time to let go.

Overall, I really enjoyed reading "One bed for the Bluestocking".

I absolutely love Courtney McCaskill’s writing and her characters that I immediately connect with. One Bed for the Bluestocking Is the third book in her Weatherby wallflowers series that finally gives aspiring natural illustration artist Katherine, who was spurned by her father, her redemption!

Kat had been completing her father‘s natural illustrations to accompany his his research for years, so as no wonder when he planned to set off on a globetrotting expedition that she assumed he would be bringing her along… not only did he have no intentions of bringing her, he had also stolen her work and allowed viewers to assume it was his.

This act left her and her three sisters, homeless and destitute with only the help of a distant aunt to recommend them in their search for husbands and support. With now two sisters married and well off, Kat finds that she has some time to make her own dreams come true now and applies for a research illustrator job with a Fellow at the University of Edinburgh.

The only hitch, is that she needs to be a student to apply, and all student must be male!

Thus, Kat finds herself cosplaying a male student who happens to have a huge crush on her incredibly handsome and attractive boss/teacher! She can keep her emotions under control… Until they head out into the wilderness for their expedition and find themselves in very tight quarters!!!

I absolutely loved Kat and Nathaniel and how cute they were together. I thought it was hilarious how long it took Nathaniel to Peace out that cat was not the young man she told him she was. Tension between these two is palpable and it was great to see how they both tried to resist each other, and at the same time seeing Nathaniel question his sexuality with his new found attraction for his “male” assistant.

This book was a lot of fun and provided a happily ever after in more ways than one for Katherine. It was great to see how Nathaniel works to regain her trust in men after what her father had done to her.

I can’t recommend this delightful book enough! Even though it is part of a series, but you can easily jump into it right here with Kat and Nathaniel’s story- but don’t be surprised when you need to back it up and read the other two books because the characters and stories are so fun!

Thanks for author, Courtney McCaskill for my review copy.

This is an entertaining addition to the Weatherby Wallflowers series. I loved getting Kate's story and seeing her step into the spotlight after her sisters’ books. Determined to be taken seriously as a scientific illustrator, Kate disguises herself as a man named Kit to gain a spot working and learning at the University of Edinburgh. She knows it's a terrible idea, but, because of issues with her father and her financial situation, she's run out of options. She is fiercely determined and incredibly talented, as well as undeniably attracted to Nathaniel Sterling.

Nathaniel is a fantastic MMC. He's smart, kind, passionate about his career, and so easy to love. His dynamic with “Kit” is full of tension, humor, and plenty of awkward, angsty moments as their connection deepens. I liked how the author handled his growing feelings while still keeping him gentle and respectful. The slow-burn romance between them was genuinely sweet and full of longing, especially when they are faced with close quarters and some really awkward animal observations. lol

I also really liked Kate’s trio of student friends. They added so much humor and warmth to the story, and I loved how loyal they were. As a group, they were fun and charming, and their relationship with Kit/Kate was fantastic. There are some heavier topics addressed, like sexism and racism, but they are balanced well with lighter moments throughout the story. Overall, it was a light and fun read!

Thanks to the author for a copy of this ebook and this is my freely given opinion.

This is book 3 of the Weatherby Wallflowers and is Kate's story. It is a hidden identity, inter-racial historical romance. Kate is one of the middle daughters and the one who felt most betrayed by the actions of their selfish father, naturalist Kenneth Weatherby. Not only had he abandoned his daughters with no home, no income, and no plans for their safekeeping in anyway, in his search for mythic creatures, but over the years, while Kate thought she was working with her father and making a name for herself as a naturalist and artist, she discovered that he was taking credit for her art.

Kate decides to pull herself out of her funk by seeking out an opportunity at the University of Edinburgh, when a fellow at the University of Edinburgh seeks an illustrator to accompany him on an excursion, to aide in an opportunity to research eagles at a remote Scottish island. This opportunity also includes education at the university.

Of course, this is not opportunity that is open to women, at the time, so Kate makes the decision to hide her identity and enters the guise of "Kit Witherspoon", a shy, withdrawn artist and budding naturalist. What she does not expect is that the naturalist she is being hired by, and whom she would be working closely with would be totally unlike any naturalist she has been exposed to before. Instead of a middle aged, soft, balding fusty pontificating professor she was expecting, Nathaniel Sterling is youthful, energetic, fit, handsome, and drool-inducing for Kate.

So when Kate gets hired, not only is she going to be working closely with the attractive Nathaniel as his student, but when they travel to the Outer Hebrides on their expedition, they will be travelling and living together for weeks, alone...

A steamy forced proximity romance, that initially leaves Nathaniel very confused, as he finds himself growing quite close to "Kit" and likewise feeling an unexpected attraction to the person he shares so much in common with.

So many aspects of the story I enjoyed, including the racial and social aspects as Nathaniel is of Jamaican background, and there is some personal angst as he seeks to make a name for himself, in the context of family expectations and where he is in life. I loved the hidden identity aspects of the story as well, including the unexpected responses when Kit is discovered to be Kate, both by Nathaniel and her fellow academics. There is a thread of tension in Kate's growing relationship with Nathaniel, after his discovery of her true identity that was nicely written as well, that plays his academic ambitions and sense of self worth, versus Kate's feelsing of inadequacy because of her own experiences with her father and his betrayal.

The secondary characters were enjoyable as well, and I wish there was a bit more of Kit/Kate and her academic journey and how that ended up (maybe in an epilogue). Especially as it becomes more open that she was the true artist, not her father. I would love to have the Weatherby father return to find out that not only have his daugther thrived in spite of his behaviour, but his own reputation is destroyed as his fraud was exposed.

4.5 stars out of 5

This series is wonderful, full of love with the sisters and how they find their husbands. When their father left then high and dry society was not kind to the four ladies. Nicknamed The Weatherby Wallflowers. Now that two of her sisters are married to wonderful and powerful man, Kate is feeling kind of lost. She is still feeling hurt and mad that her father let everyone think her wildlife illustrations of all the trips she made with him were his! She has a plan to take her place in the Scientific world. Oh, no Kate's plans usually end in disasters. This one has problems from the start, to get the job at the University in Scotland of illustrator one must be enrolled in the school and be a man no women allowed! Using a disguise, she goes to meet what she thinks is the old professor who turned her down. First problem, Nathaniel Sterling is not old, and just about the most handsome man Kate has ever seen. Hs is from Jamaica with skin the color of the sparrowhawks she painted. Second problem he also wears jackets with elbow patches! Other of her weaknesses, oh my she is over her head in trouble already. She must lie to her sisters as to where she is to take the job. Then when she meets her fellow students, she must keep up the lie of being a male and try to act like one. Arthur, Colin, and Andrew became good friends. What will they think when they learn the truth? Nathaniel Sterling’s is from a family of Doctors in Jamaica. He sometimes wonders if he made the wrong choice as his brothers are getting married and have money and a title. He is still living in a boarding house. Now that he has Kit to help him on his month-long trip to record eagles, he hopes to get published. One must remember that Kate/Kit is a sheltered, virgin Lady who did not think about what it would be like to share everything with a man, one bed, one room, eating and travel together. Hiking and hauling and always being together! Let the adventure begin and see how both Nat and Kit find out things they didn’t expect and how secrets are hard to keep. What a read, I couldn’t put it down. So many laugh out loud scenes people will wonder what you are reading. Tears and danger too. Of course, what book would be complete without a villain too. This is a very passion book for those who want to know. Grab a copy and get started. You can read the books out of order, but it's so much better to read them in order. You will fall in love with her friends, Arthur, Colin, and Andrew. I hope they can have books of their own. Marigold was one of the best parts of the story, too. I received an ARC from the author and wish to thank her. This is my honest opinion, and I am freely giving it.

I really enjoyed reading this third book in this series. The connection between Kate and Nathaniel was evident from the beginning and reading of their relationship development was a fun read. I enjoyed that the characters were a mixed race couple, with Nathaniel being from Jamaica. I found it interesting to read about some of the differences between Scotland and England with their universities and people from different countries going to them.

Kate Weatherby becomes Kit Witherspoon in order to get a job as an illustrator at the University of Edinburgh.
Nathaniel Sterling is the Natural Sciences fellow needing an illustrator. He offers Kit the position after looking at “his” illustrations. Kit has to become a student at the university to get the job so signs up and meets the three fellow students on the course. They are fun to read about and really add to the plot.
Unusual occurrences happen when Nathaniel and Kit go on a research trip to the islands at the top of Scotland and would be alone together for weeks. They were well matched in their personalities and felt very comfortable with each other. They worked well together and enjoyed their time together.

I loved Kate tenacity and spirit. She knows what she wants and shows no fear when going for what she wants, but she has issues because of her father that makes her feel insecure and insignificant when the couple become intimate. Nathaniel was such a great character. He’s a real gentleman who loves his family and strives to be the best person he can be. He doesn’t want to disappoint his long line of medical doctors after abandoning medicine at university to work in natural sciences. This lovely couple are soul mates from their first meeting. It was a pleasure to read their journey to their happily ever after.

This book was a lighthearted and engaging read. It was low angst and the characters, both main and secondary were very entertaining. There was lots of great detail throughout the book. I almost felt like I was there with them with the amount of detail written in the scenes.

It’s the worst idea Kate Weatherby’s ever had—and that’s saying something.

In the latest installment of the Weatherby Wallflowers series, Kate dives headfirst into her most disastrous plan yet. While I’ve adored every quirky sister’s escapade, Kate’s tale didn’t steal my heart like the others. That said, I did love geeking out over naturalist tidbits—Kate and Nat’s passion for science was oddly fascinating (who knew moss could be so intriguing?).

After her father’s epic betrayal, Kate, former scientific illustrator extraordinaire, seizes the chance to prove herself. The catch? The job requires enrollment at a university that’s strictly no girls allowed. But Kate’s not one to be deterred—she slaps on a disguise, dubs herself "Kit Witherspoon," and teams up with the dashing Jamaican naturalist Nathaniel Sterling. Spoiler: pretending to be a young man is harder than it looks.

Their dynamic? Picture endearing meets awkward with a side of slow-burn romance. Toss in a cramped room (thanks, budget cuts), a field trip to the windy Outer Hebrides, and a whole lot of botanical banter. Their chemistry is undeniable, filled with tender glances, laugh-out-loud misunderstandings, and plenty of "wait, do I like my guy friend?" confusion. When Nat finally discovers Kit’s true identity, it’s both hilarious and heartwarming.

Kate/Kit picks up a trio of loyal, goofy male friends who bring a delightful mix of humor and heart to the adventure.

All in all, Kate’s story is an entertaining mix of adventure, personal growth, and swoony romance. McCaskill’s vivid characters and lush settings shine once again. Even if it wasn’t my favorite of the bunch, it’s still a delightful read that proves one thing: bad ideas make for great stories.

Thanks to the author for an ARC of this book. I've really enjoyed this series about the Weatherby Wallflowers. For years, Kate drew and painted the art for her father's naturalist research papers, never realizing that her father was taking credit for her work. When she discovered the truth, she was devastated. And now, she wants to prove that she can be successful, even though she's a woman. When she sees an ad from a college fellow looking for an artist to illustrate his research, she decides to impersonate a man so that she can attend Oxford and apply for the job. Once Nathaniel sees her work, the job is hers.

Kate Weatherby becomes Kit Willoughby. The moment she meets Nathaniel, she is overcome by how handsome he is and immediately develops a crush on him. At the same time, Nathaniel finds himself attracted to Kit, and he can't figure out why. The real test comes when the two of them embark on a research trip, and Kate attempts to conceal her true identity.

Nathaniel and Kate have so much in common and so enjoy one another's company, Nathaniel eventually reaches the conclusion that Kit is his soulmate. This, despite the fact that two men could not possibly be together. Nevertheless, Nathaniel is convinced that he and Kit will be partners in some manner. Imagine his relief when he discovers that Kit is actually Kate.

Nathaniel is not only extremely intelligent intellectually, but he is also notably emotionally intelligent. He helps Kate to identify just how hurt she was by the way her father treated her and then abandoned her. Once she realizes that she can actually trust Nathanael with her heart, their happily ever after is ensured.

I really enjoyed this story, and I recommend it.

Katherine Weatherby (Kit or Kate), artist and part of the Weatherby Wallflowers.
Nathaniel Sterling, tutor, lecturer and faculty advisor at The University of Edinburgh.

Some of the tropes (and some of my favorites):
One bed - ✅
Woman disguising as a man - ✅
Tutor and student - ✅

The third “Weatherby Wallflowers” sister, Katherine, gets her story or should I say Kit?

This story was a little angsty, a lot steamy with an intelligent, caring, honorable man, Nat and a talented, intelligent, strong woman, Kate.

Kate has to pose as a man to enter The University of Edinburgh so she dons breeches, shirt, cravat and waistcoat and coat and enrolls.

Nat is a tutor who is planning a trip to study the golden eagle and needs a talented illustrator, enter Kate/Kit.

Kit meets three students who become his fast friends, I’m actually hoping that someday these men get a, they are wonderful side characters!

There are some really good twists in story that kept me reading looong into the night.

I swooned over Nat’s confession of love and was cross with Kate when she didn’t see his sincerity and hear his heart in his words at first but she does have some history so I understand.

Some of Kate’s family make an appearance so it was good to see them. This was a wonderful third book, just as good as the first two!

Kate Weatherby applies to a post for a scientific illustrator at the University of Edinburgh and although se was initially rejected for the post, the employer reached out to see if she was still interested in the position. After meeting with the employer, Nathaniel Sterling, she is offered the position. Of course she applied for the post as a male, Kit Witherspoon ,and has to enroll in university as a man. Kate quickly becomes enamored with Nathaniel because he is the exact type of male her artistic soul has always been attracted to. As they work together in isolated environments with only one bed for them to share, they are both bothered, she by the attraction and Nat because he feels an attraction to another man. While Kit is keeping more than one secret from Nat, he on the other hand, struggles with his career choice a wonders if he will ever have a post which will allow him the financial freedom to marry and have children. In addition to Kit and Nat, there are other contributing characters who add a sense of comrade and conflict to the story. I hope they find their own stories soon. One Bed for the Bluestocking was an invigorating read with spice, which explores hidden secrets, hidden identity and interracial relationships in the regency era.

In this latest Weatherby Wallflowers book, it is Kate’s turn to have her story told. She is determined to have a chance to show her skill as a scientific illustrator, and that entails disguising herself as a young man and enrolling at the University of Edinburgh. She passes herself off as Kit Witherspoon and is hired to be the assistant of Jamaican naturalist Nathaniel Sterling. It happens that Kate is immediately smitten with Nathanial, as he’s young, kind, brilliantly clever and very handsome, making him irresistible to Kate. Poor Nat begins to be attracted to Kit, which quite confuses him, but he’s not bothered by it. He just knows that he’s found his perfect partner, someone who loves nature as much as he does. There are plenty of obstacles besides her deception, that make a relationship between them unlikely, but suffice it to say, things all work out in the end because this is a romance and of course we all want that happily ever after. I loved the three male students that Kit/Kate made friends with and their interactions added a nice humorous touch. I also enjoyed the glimpse of her two older, married sisters, Eleanor and Clarissa, as well as younger sister Pippa in the epilogue.

We have a very unlikely pair! Miss Katherine, Kate aka Kit Weatherby and Mr Nathaniel Sterling! Nathaniel is a Naturalist, gifted and talented but not his family of doctors first choice! Kate has always esteemed her “famous” father but he took her gift for illustrations and capitalized on it! He actually made it his own and gave her no credit! But an opportunity came along for her to work with Nathaniel and attend Edinburgh University! She couldn’t possibly turn it down except she must dress as a male! How hard could it be! Very when you extremely attracted for the first time ever to your mentor! What happens you too have to share a bed when off on excursion to observe Golden Eagles? Well every embarrassing moment you can think of and ones you haven’t! There are 3 handsome and zany fellow students who are also involved! Get ready to laugh and sigh as Nathaniel makes a very nice book boyfriend! I received an ARC copy for my unbiased review!

Well written, full of drama, society, family, emotions, friends, history, chemistry and love. Kate is a young woman whose father has taken her designs and passes them off as his own. So she wants to find a way to get them from this point on as her own. She applies for a job in Scotland as a natural illustrator and realize that it for a man only. When offered the job, she accepts as Kit, a male and arrives there as him. Kate now needs to become Kit and dresses as one. Nathaniel wants to be a professor so he's in this group as he loves nature . As the two of them work and share their job and adventures, he notices that he is becoming more attached to Kit. Not sure why but he tries to figure it out and what a surprise he gets. Would recommend to others.

Such an adorable story of what Kate was willing to do to make her mark on the scientific community. I loved the friendships she formed with the men in her class, and how when all is revealed they stand by her through it all. And I would have loved to see the sketch from the wedding with the bridesmaids 😂

I also loved watching Nathaniel struggle with his budding feelings for his assistant while they were on the isle of Lewis. The story was a bit of a slow burn to get to the heart of the story, but it was worth all the agonizing build up to the reveal.

The hints at the end about who Pippa's love interest might be for the fourth book in this series was fun to see. While I'd love to see Roderick, Arthur and Colin (and even Andrew) get their own stories. Maybe a future spin-off series will focus on the students of natural sciences in Edinburgh.

Kate and Nat’s story is so enchanting! She is determined to get noticed for her natural illustrations. Nat wants to be a professor. His Jamaican background could be a detriment. I adored how Kate found a way to be a part of Nat’s expedition and how willing she was to do whatever it took. Some of the scenes were absolutely hilarious, especially when the reader remembers that Kate is a sheltered virgin. It was very interesting to read about some of the research they did together. The story was well written and I adored the secondary characters, especially Kate’s 3 friends. No crass language (thank you author!) , wonderful chemistry and flushing out the characters issues was beautifully done! I received this story for free and these are my own views

Ugghhh…I have really enjoyed all of Courtney’s stories that I have read (most of her works) but this one just did not do it for me. It is probably because it contains my least favorite trope. Girl dresses up as a guy for the majority of the book and that is on me. You might like this trope, I know lots of people do. The story was just okay, it was interesting and different but I just could not get into it. What did I really like about the story? The three classmates of Kate/Kit. I found the banter amongst themselves and Kit/Kate hilarious and they stood up for her. Courtney can write a good story, this one just was not my jam. Please do not let this discourage you from reading this book.

This book had me from the beginning to the end!

One bed can truly be both a curse and a blessing..

Kate and Nathaniel are from different walks of life but they have the same interests.. they love the same type of quiet.. and they value family the same way.. only problem is.. that Kate has been burned once by someone she cared for.. and Nathaniel is her professor.. however along the journey to go observe the most magical moments between eagles and their chicks, they have to share one bed.. and feelings develop that definitely neither of them thought would happen..

This story was filled with love, so much laughter.. and steam!!

I can't wait to read the next book from Courtney..

Tropes: interracial romance; MFC disguised as a man
Steam level:3

3.75 stars rounded up. This is a sweet, light, romantic HR with another lovely Courtney McCaskill cinnamon roll hero in Nat. The vibes with Kate's male buddies at school are fun and I was rooting for our main characters' HEA. Maybe could have used a smidge more angst for tension, but it's the perfect Saturday afternoon feel-good read.

This was such a nice, diverting read — very different from the usual Regency love stories! Our heroine disguises herself as a man so she can attend university and pursue her passion for illustrating animals. Her tutor, meanwhile, finds himself unexpectedly drawn to his new student and utterly confused by his attraction, having never fancied a man before.

A field trip, one room, and one bed… what could possibly go wrong? The story flows beautifully, with plenty of laugh-out-loud moments as the inevitable unfolds. The hero is such a genuinely good man that I couldn’t help falling for him myself.

This series continues to be so much fun, and I can’t wait for the last sister to find her own true love!

Contemporary romance novels are not really my thing, but I do love to get lost in a good historical story. This is the third book in this wonderful series, and I found it incredibly hard to put down. The author once again managed to transport me to another time and place, weaving together emotion, history, and beautifully written characters.
Now there’s only one sister’s story left — and I can’t wait to find out what will happen to her!

Kate Weatherby creates wonderful scientific illustrations, for which her father has taken the credit. She has been accepted as an illustrator at the University of Edinburgh, but only if she is enrolled as a student – and women are not allowed! Cute story of Kate trying to prove herself and establish her name as an illustrator, while pretending to be a man, and resist her attraction to her handsome, kind, and intelligent employer.

Since her sister married the Duke of Norwood, Katherine Weatherby does not need employment, but she wants to prove herself. She is a very talented artist and scientific illustrator. Unfortunately, her father has taken credit for her work. She has been accepted as assistant to Nathaniel Sterling, a naturalist at the University of Edinburgh. The hitch is his assistant must be enrolled at the University, which only admits men. The solution? Kate disguises herself as a young man. It works for a while. While on a project to study Golden Eagles, the two of them share close quarters, and eventually Nat discovers, to his great delight, that Kit is actually Kate. This is a light-hearted humorous romance with great characters, with the exception of one jealous snit determined to cause trouble. Kate and Nat are perfect together as partners and as a couple. A chance that they will find a happy ending? Naturally.

Gorgeous book, with a very interesting dive into the academic world of Edinburgh University back in the Regency era. I loved following Kate and Nat’s expedition in the wilderness and seeing the development of their feelings for one another, even when Nat believed her to be a man. It was all beautifully intertwined, the “scientific” part and the love story! Both main characters were endearing and lovable and I loved the side characters as well. I also found the author’s notes about black people in Regency Scotland particularly interesting.

Book 3 of the Weatherby sisters was just as enjoyable as the first two. Kare and Nathaniel are both strong characters and the adventures they get up to are well written.

Kate handles the hurdles in her life in a strong way, and even though she doesn't present her true self to Nathaniel he is still drawn to her, and doesn't just pass her off when the truth is revealed.

I enjoyed this story.

That worked perfectly for our two main characters, Katherine Weatherby and Nathaniel Sterling, but getting to that (and beyond) is what this lively story is about.
It was so easy to read and it really is such a beautifully written, romantic story!
I enjoyed it very much and am happy to recommend it having just finished reading an early copy. My review is given voluntarily.

One Bed For The Bluestocking
By Courtney McCaskill

A delightful Regency romance. Light on the angst and well balanced with humor. The characters were human and quite adorable. Before I read this, I had no clue what a naturalist was. Ms. McCaskill introduced the subject magnificently making it endlessly interesting. The romance seemed strong and binding giving the impression that this would be a happy forever marriage.

Throughly enjoyed reading Nat and 'Kit' or Kate's story of a wallflower studying natural history at a prestigious Scottish University and her would be professor as they journey to explore the isle of Leeis and it's bird population. Given their close confines what will happen when Nat finds out that 'Kit' is really Kate sister-in-law to a Duchess and the scandal that could erupt should the University find out.
