From IDW and VIZ Media, don’t miss this groundbreaking crossover between two of the greatest ninja teams of all time! When Naruto, Sasuke, Sakura, and Kakashi receive a mission to escort reporter April O’Neil and the mutation research she’s safeguarding back to her home of Big Apple Village, they aren’t expecting to be attacked by the Foot Clan. The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles arrive just in time to defeat the Foot’s ambush, but despite their shared enemy, the two teams have a lot to learn about each other if they’re going to get along! While the Turtles introduce Team 7 to their lives under the Big Apple Village, though, the Foot Clan sees another opportunity to steal the secrets of the ooze for themselves…

Issue 2 of 4 in the TMNT/Naruto Crossover and we get Backstories to the Turtles and some for Naruto + another Foot Clan hidden attack. I like it, maybe this should have been issue 1, but who am i to decide.

Honestly where can I even fully start with this series and how to I go about immediately requesting they make this into a whole larger spinoff series because it’s so gorgeously illustrated and just oozes (pun intended) bad**s fights and a crossover aesthetic I never truly knew I needed until today. Getting to fully fill in and understand the two backstories and integrations was expected but enjoyable and once we got a peak at the turtles big apple village underground dojo and the literally killer madara looking shredder, I struggled to not give this a perfect score. If only they actually delivered and showed us a bit of transformed Naruto like teased on the cover, that’s all I’m saying. 4.75/5

So they clear up how Kakashi knows Splinter and it turns out he knew his master. In this issue they establish how April met the turtles and how Splinter and the turtles came to be how they came to be. The party splits in the end, the kids go and get food (of course pizza) and April and Spinter hold the fort and of course Shredder and the foot clan find them!! So glad I don't have to wait for the next issue since it's out already, but man the art is still amazing!!!

Issue two retells the origins of this version of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in an alternate Naruto-verse. That story is a classic, so it really just sticks to the important details.

This art is some of my favorite to see, by Hendry Prasetya. The story (by Caleb Goellner) has gone from initial confrontation to now understanding and revelation, where the big bad is en route. Mikey and Naruto's playful camaraderie is humorously endearing and the color layouts (by Raùl Angulo) are often cool to see, from contrasting character personalities to complimentary characters.

Last issue, Hidden Leaf Village and Big Apple Village
