He’s a hot-headed hockey star. A grump with a broody glare. Hater of playing by the rules. Bigger hater of figure skaters like me. And now, my new fake boyfriend.

I’ve spent my entire life working for a shot at Nationals, but when my figure skating partner gets an injury right before the biggest season of my career, my chances of making a comeback vanish overnight.

Until my dad—a professional hockey coach—forces me to pair up with the last person I’d ever choose as my Leo Anderson. Sure, he’s got the whole brooding, bad-boy thing down, but he’s also got anger issues that landed him in trouble with his team.

He’s benched, forced into community service with me, and my dad thinks I’m the perfect way to kill two birds with one hockey stick.

The only hitch? Leo also happens to be my ridiculously hot ex-boyfriend. You know, the guy I never quite got over.

Leo needs to fulfill his hours to get back on the ice. I need a sponsorship to revive my career. A fake relationship could give us both what we need, as long as we put together some ironclad rules.

A win-win, right?

Turns out, pretending to be in love with your ex is the fastest way to fall for him all over again.

Perfectly Faked is a closed door hockey romcom about a figure skater and hockey player that has all the chemistry without the spice. Fans of enemies to lovers, coach’s daughter, forced proximity, fake dating and The Cutting Edge will love this one!

HOCKEY!!!!! And Grace Worthington!!! Such a great combination! If you can't tell I'm a fan of both! Hee Hee!!! I discovered Grace's books thanks to a friend recommending that I read them last year or maybe the year before. But I've been hooked ever since and I have loved every single one that I've read. I don't ever want them to end. They're so fun and witty and the chemistry between the characters and their banter have me turning the pages quickly. Add in hockey and I'm a goner! So all of these hockey books and series that have been popping up the last year or so have had me cheering! I don't live where I can watch hockey games live, but growing up I did. And let me tell you I loved it! My dad and I would go to them and we had such a great time. Some of my favorite memories! My high school even had an ice hockey team and my best friends was one of the star players. It was awesome! I need to go watch some hockey pronto after reading all of these books!

I loved how the author played off of the old ice skating/hockey movie, The Cutting Edge! That was seriously one of my favorite movies ever! I watched it over and over again, by myself, with friends, didn't matter just let me watch it! Hahaha! When the author first mentioned that this one had those vibes...I. Could. Not. Wait!!! Sorry for the fangirling but hey, I was pretty excited and for good reason. This book was fantastic. I loved these two characters so much. I loved being back with the other characters in this series. And the whole time I was reading this I kept thinking about how much I loved the first book and wanted to read it again!

If you haven't read any books by this author can I suggest you start with The Roommate Remodel? It is the last book in a previous series, but it starts you with hockey and gives you a foundation for the house where all of the hockey players in this series live.

Victoria and Leo have some history and some baggage. And I loved the banter and tension that it all caused. Oh my heart!!! I loved watching their walls fall down! I couldn't wait for the moment that they still loved each other. *Happy Sigh* But there are some struggles to overcome before that happens. But the chemistry was wonderful! And that first kiss...and the second!!! Yep! I'm here for it! I love seeing characters find joy and happiness and love! I know they're fictional but hey, it's based on humans and emotions and struggles and growth and healing and love! That's why I love reading! I love escaping but I love seeing hope!

I can't wait for the next Crushers Hockey Team book!!! Bring Them All On please Grace Worthington!!!

Content: Some kisses and nothing further. The characters go to a bar with friends so there is some mention of drinking alcohol. I would consider it a clean read because there is nothing more than kisses and I don't really remember any innuendos, if there were they were really mild. The main characters fall asleep in the same bed but it is very clear before they do that he was just going to hold her.

I received a copy from the author. All thoughts and opinions in the review are my own.

Happy Reading!!!

Thoroughly enjoyed this and I’ve never even watched a hockey game. It takes a team to help Leo and Victoria through all the adventure of their story. Such a fun read.

Grace has done it yet AGAIN with causing me to be obsessed with another one of her books!! Perfectly Faked was so extremely well written in my opinion and I just couldn’t get enough of it and ended up speed-reading it so fast, even though I didn’t want it to end.

I loved jumping into the world of The Crushers (the amazing hockey team) and going through the journey of all the different characters that makes up the sweet community in this book which I loved so much. There was Jaz and Sloan’s baking, neighbor Delilah and Big Bertha the bird, and the whole team full of playful teammates that always razzed our beloved Leo.

As for Leo and Vic themselves - I ADORED these two and all of their banter which was simultaneously ridiculous & incredible 🤭 Leo is such a grizzly bear of a grump and Victoria is such a sassy, shining light - when these two had their run-in’s and their more in-depth journey skating, it just melted my heart!

As to not spoil anything, I have two words…THE. GUM….Grace??! The gum?! 😂😭
I loved this story SO much and encourage you to pick up if you’re looking for a sweet hockey romance with 2 heartfelt characters and loads of community. 🩷🏒

4.5/5

This is my first Grace Worthington book, but for sure not my last. Seriously, it was SO STINKING. CUTE! I loved it! When I couldn't just sit and read because *responsibilities* 🙄 I was thinking about this book. I consumed this book so quickly because I fell so much in love with Leo and Victoria. I feel like this book was such a cute read. You get the ex's/second chance love with the grumpy/sunshine but then a tad bit of fake dating thrown in there. Let's not forget some forced proximity with a SMOKING New Year's Eve Kiss....and some pretty amazingly intensely wonderful kissing scenes. I loved watching not only their relationship grow, but I am absolutely here for the amazing character growth. I feel like it was just amazing. Please go read it!

I mean, without giving anything away, the growth of these two have me just so happy!! It's great to see growth from not only main characters, but side characters as well ❤️ and I'm also here for learning how to communicate and communicate well ❤️

It's so good, guys!

Perfectly Faked is the second book in the Perfect Crush Hockey Romance series. While those who have read the previous book will enjoy catching up with some familiar characters, this could absolutely be enjoyed as a standalone as well.

Grace Worthington has once again delivered with a hockey romance that I absolutely couldn't put down. Hockey + second chance + enemies to lovers + a dash of fake dating!? Um, yes please! Leo and Victoria drew me into their story right away. They had had a relationship in college, until she ended things over text with no explanation. Needless to say, when his coach (her dad) forces him to act as her temporary skating partner as community service, neither of them are thrilled. I absolutely loved how stubborn she was and the hilarious moments that came out of that stubbornness (ahem, gum). Still the chemistry between them was absolutely undeniable and I loved seeing them get that second chance--- especially as we learn what went wrong to start! It truly was the perfect blend of romantic tension (oh, that first kiss!), comedic moments, and family issues that they both had to work through. And of course, who wouldn't want more time with the Crushers and that family bond that I adore? I can't wait to see what happens next!

Perfectly Faked is a closed-door romance with kisses only and no language.

**ARC received for consideration. All opinions are my own.

You guys, Grace Worthington has done it again! Count me totally hooked on any and every book that deals with the Crushers. And while I definitely recommend all her hockey romances, they can be read as standalones. I absolutely loved Leo and Victoria's story so much. Their story is one of second chances and boy did I really find myself rooting for them. I just wanted them to be together and wished I could reach through the pages to aggressively shake some sense into Victoria's super rude mother.

Perfectly Faked had so many moments that were absolutely swoony, but then there were also very entertaining moments. Like, oh my gosh, the part with the gum was both gross and hilarious. Then Big Bertha and his colorful language. Then don't get me on the moments between Leo and Victoria. Three words: trivia bet scene!!! The chemistry that followed that engage was just like whoa! There was definitely tension and drama, but nothing that dragged on to the point of making me want to chuck my Kindle. Plus, you get the ever popular and classic "wearing of his jersey" moment that I just LOVE about hockey romances.

Also, let me just say you NEED to download the bonus epilogue that will be linked at the end of the book. It features a girls versus guys hockey game that is so fun and of course adorable.

Super cute and fun! This is my first book by this author, and I really enjoyed it!

Leo and Victoria dated in college, but things ended when Victoria unexpectedly broke up with him over text. Years later Victoria moved back home and after her skating partner gets injured, she needs a new partner to help her get ready to compete at Nationals.

After an altercation during a hockey game, Leo gets benched, and the coach, who also happens to be Victoria‘s dad, tells Leo he needs to do community service. That service is helping Victoria until she can find a replacement partner.

Neither one is thrilled to be working with their ex, and they each have a plan to be so difficult to work with that the other one will back out of the arrangement. That mindset soon changes because it’s obvious they never got over each other.

You can Expect:
Hockey player - Skater
Forced proximity
Grumpy- Sunshine
Second Chance Romance
Enemies To Lovers
Fake Relationship
Dual POV
Cutting Edge Vibes
Found Family
Witty Banter
Kisses only

The sparks, chemistry, and banter between these two was fantastic. Along with the humor and romance, there’s a serious side where both main characters have some challenging issues with their parents. I appreciated how both situations were handled.

If you enjoy clean and heartwarming, romcoms, this is an adorable one to add to your list!

I received a complimentary copy but a positive review wasn’t required.

“Even if hell froze over, I wouldn’t skate on it with Leo Anderson.”

I’m hooked on the Crushers hockey team and hot-headed Leo’s story was everything I hoped it would be…and more. His temper has him in trouble and his “punishment” is to work with Victoria, a figure skater without a partner and his former college love.

The way this duo clashed and banter, fighting their simmering attraction, left me with THE CUTTING EDGE vibes, including toe picks, and it
filled my heart with all the emotions. There are layers and reasons why they are bitter enemies and their story was told in the most perfect and believable way. As a people pleaser, I could relate to Victoria and it was so much fun to watch her learn to skate to her own beat and to follow her heart. I could also see how and why Leo was so full of anger.

This second chance romance is full of mild angst and all the swoon, and it was such a treat to watch all the pieces fall into place. I love the glimpses of teammates and characters from the series, several as residents of a house.

This author really knows how to write a fun and engaging story and I can’t wait for more in this series.

Content: mild romance

Another installment so to speak to the incredible Crushers team and their significant others.

Vic and Leo - man. These two you can feel the chemistry right on the page. The way that Grace brings these characters to life makes you feel like you are either watching reality TV or chatting with them.

✔️Dual POV
✔️Hockey/Skating Romance
✔️Disapproving parents
✔️Second chances romance
✔️Grumpy/sunshine
✔️Fake dating
✔️Forced proximity
✔️Never got over each other after the breakup

This book checks all those boxes and more. Fun diverse group of characters, cannot forget the parrot either, seriously cracked me up.

If you are looking for your next (clean) sports romance this entire series is where to start.

Thank you NetGalley and Poets & Saints Publishing for my ARC!

When hockey player Leo is instructed to take a break from the game, his coach pairs him up to train with his figure skating daughter, Victoria, while her partner recovers from an injury. When a sponsorship opportunity arises for the both of them, the requirement is for the two to be dating. They've dated before in college so it should be easy right?

This was quite a sweet read! I enjoyed how both characters felt the same, never feeling like a serious relationship since they first broke up and waiting for their second chance. The supporting characters and their stories were fantastic, especially that of Tina and Delilah, not to mention the entire Crushers team who came together in that final scene! This was a lovely romance - I can't wait for the next book in the series!

Perfectly Faked, book two in the Perfect Crush Hockey Romance Series by Grace Worthington brought out all the emotions! Leo and Victoria are two hot, beautiful, hardworking, stubborn athletes with some history between them that needs to be worked out. I love their banter and the energy that sizzles between them! I enjoyed watching their relationship grow and their relationships with others grow during the story. We get to see a bunch of our favorite characters from other interconnected stories and series, I especially love Jaz and Sloan. This book had a few of my favorite tropes, enemies to lovers, second chance, forced proximity and grumpy/sunshine and it ends in my HEA!

Back with the Crushers hockey team we learn more about Leo and Victoria. Leo has never really moved on from the split at college and it being by text makes it worse. Now on a ten week benching and having to help out with the coaches daughter skating, he's far from happy. I can't believe my dad has me training with Leo, he hates me with good reason. Between team mates hitting on Vic, swearing parrots and the pre chewed gum this is a hilarious story. Can they ever move on from their past history. Will Victoria ever explain her reason fir dumping him. Will Leo ever admit his secret. There is so much going on that with each page turned you are drawn deeper into the story. Can there be a hea for them sit back and enjoy its definitely worth it

Victoria and Leo met when they were in college. They come from very different backgrounds. Leo is training to become a national hockey player. Victoria is training to be a figure skating champion. They get acquainted after they finish workouts in the ice rink. Victoria's mother learns of their growing attraction. Her husband is the hockey coach. They tell Victoria that they'll destroy Leo's future as a hockey player if she doesn't stop seeing him. Will they get a second chance at romance? Lots of life lessons in this story.

i just don't buy that they were in love with each other. second chance romance where they dated for 6 months in college, he was so in love with her that he even bought a ring to propose BUT two weeks after she dumps him over text, he's already dating ow. how does this scream she's his one true love if he's so quick to move on?

and when it gets revealed that she only ended things because her father threatened his career and she was protecting him, there's barely any reaction to it from either of them. she even tells him she saw him with ow two weeks later and was hurt and it's just brushed off? idk their romance felt very surface level to me 🤷‍♀️

[This book is part of a series but can be read as a standalone]

Leo "Ego" Anderson is a grumpy hockey player with a hot temper. His attitude has gotten him into trouble more than once. Now he's been benched by his coach and forced to do community service. The coach's daughter Victoria has lost her skating partner due to an injury and needs someone to train with until he's back. The problem? Besides Leo not being a figure skater, he and Victoria were a couple some years ago - until she broke his heart.

From lovers to enemies, from enemies to friends, and from friends to lovers again; this couple go full circle! We get dual POV's and I've marked so many quotes it's almost ridiculous!

"I’ve seen the way he looks at you.”
“Like he’s imagining all the ways I could meet my untimely demise?” I snort.
Sloan turns toward me. “A man who looks at a woman the way he looks at you . . . is a man who’s fighting a losing battle with his heart."

Besides his complicated feelings for Victoria, Leo has had a problematic childhood that still impacts his life.

“Those comments about my past used to sting, but they don’t anymore. You can’t let someone hurt you unless you give them power over you."

I appriciated the found family vibes I got when Victoria got to know Sloan and Jaz, and finally have friends in her life.

“Honey, this is what women do for their friends. We bake, we vent, and yes, we occasionally commit Santa-cide and then pretend it never happened. And if we’re lucky, we’ll laugh about it in ten years over guacamole and chips. That’s the magic of friendship.”

The reason it doesn't get 5 stars is that one of the tropes used to promote the book is fake dating, and it's a really small part of the story (also quite late in the book). That made me a bit displeased, since I expected something different, but it's a personal opinion. Another thing is that the characters are around 25 years old, but sometimes they act younger and I get YA vibes. This too is a personal feeling and maybe not something others think of.

I loved the bonus epilouge I received as part of the author's ARC team! It was so funny and sweet! This is my honest review.

Grace Worthington and IceHockey go hand and hand , and her writing? Well that’s grand ,perfect prose and a perfect flair . Those characters that we root for to shoot ,to score and then we shout for more . That’s just how it is when you get engrossed and engaged in the game ,playing out. That’s the same as us reading these books we shout out because we know they’re that good ,like we knew before we opened that first page . There was going to be a stage where enough isn’t enough and I’m going to huff ,when I’ve finished the book but I’m in love with these characters created with ease ,or at least that’s how it seems because it’s a IceHockey fan reader’s dream and Grace Worthington does so like to tease us senseless ,in the nicest possible way of course . But the character’s intercourse even when forced to be together and at first there’s discourse their connection is palpable and off the charts real and told with zeal. Leo Anderson ,the brooding bad boy vibe has pressure on him to calm his game ,he’s already earned himself a bad name , that’s so cold. Top it all off and this is pure gold. The daughter of his coach and the coach himself get him focused on something else. So ,he’s been a naughty boy and she gets punished!? Victoria’s partner in figure skating circles is out of action just before finals , her chances of a comeback although slim was now looking even grimmer , what a dilemma! ... Now this! Her ex is doing community service and assigned to her and now her dad wants him to take her figure skating partner’s place…How can she save face without doing as he says? The answer as plain as the nose on her face ,she’s stuck with him and that is a drag, but maybe if they practised hard they’d have it in the bag. Maybe even reconnecting on another level and feeling the love once more. One thing’s for sure . I do love this book and it’s storytelling that’s so compelling. Brilliant writing, ever so inviting and it does shine through their love for each other , however it is hidden and not bidden but it’s there all the same and who can blame them. Awesome read.

Perfectly Faked by Grace Worthington is the second book in her Perfect Crush Hockey Romance Series but can be read as a standalone. I absolutely loved this book. It was so sweet, and the banter was perfection! This book is told from a dual POV, following Leo and Victoria. They dated in college, but after Victoria broke up with him over text, they had not seen each other in years. Victoria just moved back home and needs a partner to help her prepare for a shot at Nationals after her partner gets injured. Her dad is also the coach of the Crushers, who Leo plays for. After an altercation during a game, the coach said Leo is benched and needs to do community service to be able to play again and his community service is helping Victoria with her skating until she can find a replacement partner. Omg the banter and the chemistry between these two. I devoured this book. I can not say enough good things about this book. It had me hooked from the start and kept me wanting more Crushers hockey. I can't wait for the next one!!

💙 Hockey Romancr
🩷 Enemies To Lovers
💙 Second Chance Romance
🩷 Fake Relationship
💙 Cutting Edge Vibes
🩷 Found Family
💙 Coach's Daughter
🩷 Witty Banter
💙 Just Kisses

Of all the rinks in all the world, he had to walk into this one. Leo the Ego Anderson. Hair falling over his piercing blue eyes, muscular build—of course he’s only gotten better looking over time.

“Does it hurt?” he asks, his eyes cutting to mine before he looks back at my wound. “Only when you touch it,” I mutter, watching as he carefully cleans the wound. “Well, lucky for you, I’ve got a magic cure for that,” he says, putting the bandage on next. I snort. “What, are you going to give it a kiss?” “Exactly,” he says. Then he leans down and presses his lips to the bandage.

I’m not just talking about the pipe bursting in my apartment, but Leo making me blush countless times. If picturing the dough as his smug face and giving it a few solid punches qualifies as stress relief, then I’ve just found the most satisfying form of therapy.

Jaz’s grin is brighter than the Christmas lights outside. “Honey, this is what women do for their friends. We bake, we vent, and yes, we occasionally commit Santa-cide and then pretend it never happened. And if we’re lucky, we’ll laugh about it in ten years over guacamole and chips. That’s the magic of friendship.”

Victoria looks up at me, her cheeks tinged pink. “You might be cute,” she says with a grin. “But you’re still insufferable.” “Maybe,” I say, tipping up her chin. “But let’s face it. You like that I’m insufferable. That’s why you’re still here.” For once, she doesn’t have a comeback.

I received an advance review copy, and I am leaving my honest review voluntarily.

Tropes:
second chance
closed door romance
fake dating
forced proximity
Dislike to lovers
hockey player x figure skater
coach's daughter
Dual POV

Perfectly Faked is book 2 in the Perfect Crush Hockey romance series but can be read as a standalone! Victoria and Leo use to date back in college... however, Victoria breaks up with Leo out of the blue via text message (she had her reasons, I promise!). It's been a few years but Leo's a professional hockey player now for the Crushers and Victoria has been performing as one half a professional figure skating duo. Their lives haven't crossed since college but meddling fathers may change that.

Victoria's dad is the coach for the Crushers and he's put Leo "the Ego" on probation for his attitude and community service hours is the deal to get off the bench. The comm service that coach has planned? Being Victoria's skating partner for a few weeks while her regular partner is out with an injury. Will this forced proximity reawaken feelings between the two?

I thought this story was cute. I felt bad for Leo, he has loved Victoria the whole time, ever since she dumped him. Then you find out why she did and the feeling you had of wanting them to be together just expands ten fold! I love a good grump, and Leo is definitely one- but I would be too pining after someone for years lol. Victoria is sweet and I think the character growth for her is beautiful.

BUT. My favorite character is elderly neighbor Delilah and her overweight pet Parrot who yells profanities at people. I was cracking up at this bird! I kinda want a pet Bertha now but also... I'm afraid HAHAHAHA

If you grew up with The Cutting Edge being in your top 5 favorite movies, then this chemistry-filled story where hockey meets figure skating is for you!

Grumpy meets Grumpy when exes reunite under less than ideal circumstances. Leo is benched from hockey, and Victoria's skating partner is temporarily out of commission. When Victoria's daddy dearest, who is Leo's hockey coach too, decides to pair them up to teach them both to work better with difficult people, sparks FLY.

The banter between Leo and Victoria is top-notch. They can't deny their attraction or feelings. It seems like everyone is conspiring to get them back together, but no one, even Leo, knows why they broke up. I was dying for them to have a second chance from the first "toe pick." Leo's protectiveness and eventual unconditional friendship were enough to melt Victoria's defenses, and even though this is a fake dating story, it really is just a way for these to two get what they really want... each other!

There are so many funny and swoon-worthy moments that I couldn't possibly pick a favorite! As a gal who is always in her #HockeyRomanceEra, I will never be disappointed when I get a story as lovely and fun as this one.

I don't even think my review could do it justice! I LOVED everything about this story. The parent dynamic, the careers hanging in the balance, the crazy bird and sweet neighbor... and I love a little grit in my romcoms. Just so, so good. ❤️

I received a complimentary copy of the author's story to read and review. All thoughts contained here are my own.

PERFECTLY FAKED BOOK REVIEW 💙⛸️🏒
y’all this is my FIRST arc read so i’m so excited to share with you! happy release day to Perfectly Faked by Grace Worthington 🤍🎉🫶 book 2 in the perfect crush hockey romance!
.
FMC: Victoria is just WOW! she is a very persistent person with very specific goals ⭐️ she likes to SPEAK HER MIND and not let anyone or anything get in her way 🗣️ i love her energy and goofiness and how independent she is 💕 she’s also sooo friendly and takes care of her sweet old neighbor (and her fat swearing parrot, 🦜 if you know you know i LOVED those scenes 😂😂😂😂) and although she has tough relationships with her parents, she tries her best to get along but also be independent from them 🤍 i also can’t forget to mention her amazing talent for figure skating (yes it a hockey x figure skater romance and no, i’ve never read one before this!) ⛸️
.
MMC: Leo the Ego Anderson 💪🏒 just insane (ly hot iykyk) he is a hockey KING 👑 hes a very grumpy and gruff and amazing at hockey 🤩 but we all know underneath all that bulk is a soft and kind heart ❤️ i just love seeing huge guys like leo being nice to people (include elementary school kids 🥹) and he’s good at bouncing back! throughout the book there were conflicts that he was quick (most of the time) to resolve and try to help everyone out 🫶 i just love how secretly caring he is especially to victoria and how goofy his jokes were 😂 i also enjoyed his character development and him trying to have a better relationship with his mom. just goes to show he’s a walking green flag 💚
.
overall this book was amazing! i was super impressed how clean it was with the language and content 🧼 and it’s one of the few second- chance romances i’ve read and and i really enjoyed it! 💕i loved the side characters yall know there are a lot of non YA hockey books and i’m just so glad that more authors are writing clean hockey books bc i love the trope but sometimes there’s too much spice ☹️
congrats on book #2 Perfectly Faked by Grace Worthington!

Loved this! Leo is a grump with a gooey center. Victoria is the one who gets to see it!

Favorite Quotes:
Sloan laughs. “I don’t know. I’ve seen the way he looks at you.” “Like he’s imagining all the ways I could meet my untimely demise?” I snort. Sloan turns toward me. “A man who looks at a woman the way he looks at you . . . is a man who’s fighting a losing battle with his heart.”

“I don’t know, but I need to add a rule that says no flirting,” I say, lifting an eyebrow. “No,” he says, firmly, wiping the dish. “That’s one rule I won’t agree to.” “Why not?” I frown. “Because I like to see your cheeks turn pink,” he says giving me a smile that’s adorably infuriating. “It’s cute.”

I bite my bottom lip, trying to ignore the heat creeping up my neck. “Leo Anderson, have you been checking me out?” I can feel the low rumble of his laughter against my skin. “Let’s just say, if they wanted me to focus, they shouldn’t have put you in my arms.” I scoff lightly, biting back my smile. “That’s a weak excuse.” His voice dips lower, making my pulse skip. “It’s not an excuse, Vic. It’s a confession.”

From page one to the last, Grace Worthington weaves all of the emotions – the snarky banter, the longing tension, sorting through their unresolved history, dealing with complicated family situations, teasing from teammates, empowering each other and building trust – into one incredible story. I found myself thinking of this book when I wasn’t reading it, wishing that I could be any one of the awesome secondary characters and join in the fun. I only wish it didn’t have to end…and I am now desperately waiting for the next book!

This is book 2 of the Perfect Hockey Crush Romance series, but is a standalone with interconnected characters.

A lot of sports books feature a broody athlete, but most of the time the initial source of the dower mood doesn’t make an appearance in the book – this time she’s front row center!

Leo aka Ego is in his prime of playing for the Carolina Crushers AHL hockey team, he has his ‘brothers’ on the team, unfortunately, the new coach has some concerns and has placed him on probation for next several weeks!  To get off, he must subject himself to being a temporary fill-in for a figure skater whose partner recently got injured.  What a way to knock the wind out of his sails!  He never expected to see her again, let alone be her partner for multiple weeks on end!

Victoria isn’t thrilled to find out that Ego has been assigned her partner, but a girl must do what she has to no thanks to her dad, who’s also his coach!  All the frustrated energy and emotions boil to a head, but somehow despite the angst old feelings weren’t always bitter!  The world is determined to throw the exes at each other and it’s fun to watch them try to get out of it!  I love all these moments and I’m no ‘meat head’ to admit I love me some brownies!

I could continue to gush, but this book speaks for itself!  Grace delivers perfect analogies that will have you cracking up and awkward situations that might make you cringe slightly!  Regardless of the circumstances this is a romcom at its finest!  Occasional moments of heartache or examples of bad parenting, but all in all this is a fantastic read!  If you have the time and motivation, you could get this read in a single day…this book will be going on my shelf soon enough and I couldn’t be happier!  This book has become a new favorite of Grace’s work and I’m not ashamed to say it!

Leo's a hot-headed hockey player benched for his temper. Victoria is a pairs figure skater with no partner after hers is injured. Her dad, the hockey coach, decides putting Leo with Victoria as her practice partner is the perfect solution and fitting punishment for him. A hockey player forced into figure skating will get him laughed right out of the locker room! But it's even worse...Victoria is the one he never got over after they dated in college and she broke up with him over a text message!
This romcom has all the fun banter and second chance emotions without the spice. I love how even after all their time apart Victoria counts it as a win every time she can get grumpy Leo to smile. And even though he still resents her for the way they broke up, Leo can't help but be super sweet to her. I liked this clean second chance grumpy/sunshine hockey romance.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advance copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Such a great story
I loved this enemies to lovers, second chance, ice hockey/figure skating romance.
It’s full of fun banter, tension, chemistry and emotion. It’s sweet and swoony, and has a lovely found family vibe amongst the team and their partners, and a bit of real family dysfunction.
Victoria and Leo are wonderful characters and they drew me into their story effortlessly. Having dated in college, these two still have feelings for each other, even though she ended things years ago, cue the unresolved issues. The fake relationship brings with it forced proximity and those pesky feelings take over along with much needed communication.
Excellent humour that had me laughing out loud, especially Big Bertha.
A great addition to the series and I can’t wait for more.
