Rate this book
A decade after Jen Winston’s brother vanished during the first human test of the first quantum space faster-than-light ship Explorer, the Q-space program has been scrapped and she’s running ships between Earth, the Moon and Mars. Jen is approached by Paul Loran, a mathematical prodigy haunted by the same disappearance that shattered her life.
Paul unveils a he knows what happened to the Explorer and seeks Jen's aid in resurrecting their families’ dream. Together, they embark on a perilous journey aboard Quantum 1, humanity's new hope for reaching the stars. But their mission of exploration soon turns deadly as the crew finds themselves face-to-carapace with the Kevlu, an alien race set on aggressive intergalactic expansion and technological domination.

Jen, Paul and the crew of the Quantum 1 find unexpected allies in the Alliance Consortium, a coalition of alien species striving for peace amidst looming conflict. Yet, as they negotiate the complexities of Q-space travel and alien diplomacy, they become pawns in a game of galactic intrigue where allies may be enemies and the true stakes are nothing less than the fate of Earth itself. In a universe where first contact sparks terrorism and ancient rivalries threaten to ignite war, Jen and her crew must tread carefully to secure humanity's place among the stars.
