Chapter 1 Micheal seeking revenge-- "The pain, anger and sorrow were tearing him to shred piece by piece. Chapter 3 Elaine " There was no changing the past, however. ...Elaine resolved to let her present dictate her future. Turning point-- Chapter 14 " But at what cost, ?Micheal By this point in book, I began to not care. The revelation of another insticator was stretching the story. And the conclusion didn't ring true.
This story starts with a search for revenge. The wrong man was thought to be the searchers accused but he fell in love with the man's daughter. When the lady finds out that she was being used the love ended. A must read to find how this story ends.
Loved it! The Duke was an interesting character & I enjoyed seeing his struggle with his feelings play out throughout the story. The ending was interesting as well.
I find this book very bland. The concept of creating a plan of revenge involving an innocent while claiming that he loves his sister so and would never want her to get hurt is makes the Hero a disgusting character. I know this is a romance that doesn't excuse the fact that she forgave him way too soon. The heroines father was hinting at his wrongdoings from the very first page almost, right until the very end, if this doesn't make the heroine stupid nay gullible I don't know what does. Michael was apparently drawn to the fact that Elaine couldn't help but wear her heart on her sleeve and her facial expressions were so very revealing, that just furthers my point that this girl knows nothing of society and is naive enough not to know how to protect herself against anything which further fuels my dislike for her. In conclusion the deserve each other, a disgraceful duke and an airheaded girl.
Revenge had driven the Duke's whole being for the past four years, since his father's death after being convicted of treason. He knows it was a set up and he is determined to clear his father's name and restore the dukedom's legacy. To do that, he intends to use people. But the one person he uses, Elaine, also turns out to be the person who makes him question his end goal. Will continuing his goal lose him the woman he has fallen in love with? Despite the risk, he persists, with an interesting and satisfying end. His sister and Elaine's cousin's romance are an added benefit.
This was a great book. It was a page turner and the suspense was intense. I was on the edge of my seat and I couldn’t even put it down. These characters were stimulating of passion, forbidden love and drama. They will never be the same again if she don’t get away from of the chaos lies. I definitely recommend this book and you won’t be disappointed. I received advance copy of this book via Bookfunnel and am voluntarily leaving my honest opinion. Trina Jones
This is a story of a young man who's whole life now is about vengeance because of the damage done to his father. He doesn't seem to care who get hurts in his plan until he meets Lady Elaine Sutton the lady he has planned to use to get his revenge. Will she change his heart or will he continue with his plan? You will need to read this story to find this out and more.
Revenge doesn’t always end up the way you think. The hero is determined to find out who wrongly set up his late father to be the fall guy to a crime he didn’t commit. With that goal he gets to know the daughter of the man he thinks is guilty. They are attracted to each other and then he realizes he has the wrong man pegged for his revenge. It was a good read with some mystery.
The story line was making me apprehensive, knowing the Duke's black vengeance was trying to take over, but love and forgiveness always wins in the end, making their relationship stronger & something to share about. Well done.
Sweet and clean. Michael starts out seeking Elaine for revenge but in the end not only does he realize he was wrong in some ways but he also Elaine and her family to be happy
This book is CLEAN. 😖😆 Wasn't expecting that for this genre and did not see it labeled as such so I am feeling duped. Nothing original about the storyline either. The whole thing is very blah.
