Miss Prudence Grace is very happy with her life. She lives quietly in the country among her sisters and their children. She sees nothing amiss with being a maiden aunt. She has no room for romantic notions in her calm, prosaic world. She has no hidden secrets, no glaring faults, or painful wounds. She wants for nothing. She is a very unlikely romantic heroine.
But an unexpected encounter in the sedate city of Bath upsets her predictable life. She is forced to spread her wings a little, meet new people, face new challenges, and discover that romance can strike most unexpectedly, and love changes everything.
This is a clean Regency Romance with plenty of humour and some dubious poetry. It can read as a standalone, but many of the characters are from previous books, and it will be enjoyed best when read in series order.
When she’s not writing stories or thinking up stories or reading other people’s stories, Nina likes to paint and collage pictures, get taken for long walks by her adorable dogs, and cook all things plant-based. She also does other things, like office work, but that’s the boring bit. She lives very happily in rural Cornwall, England with her family.
A wonderful series and a great ending for Miss Prudence! Throughout the series Prudence was always the youngest sister who needed looking after. In this book she finally comes into her own and really takes charge of her life and her independence. Her kindness and persistence really pay off and also help to expand her circle of family and friends. The supporting characters are just brilliant and add so much to the story. Sir Robert is an excellent match for Prudence and I love his shy and caring character. I wish we could have seen more of him and Prudence together or an extended epilogue! This has been such a romantic and heartwarming series that I highly recommend! I voluntarily reviewed this after receiving a free copy.
Yay, I finally got to read Prudence's happily ever after!
As the youngest and the most practical of the Grace sisters, I wondered how Prudence's love story would unfold and I am completely satisfied with how it played out.
Prudence loves to serve and does not love the spotlight. She wants simple things out of life and does not overlook the needy around her. She is hardworking and creative when she finds problems she wants to solve. So, when she discovers a long lost relative in need of care, of course she jumps into help him even though he is often crochety and rude. This sets into effect a new trajectory for her life as she meets new acquaintances in Bath and begins to find her wings!
3.5 stars. The romance is cute (I love how the hero is never the first man on the scene), and the turns of the story were good, but the pacing is plodding. Since this is the third book in a series, it seemed like every scene in the second half was a chaotic crowd scene that often felt like little more than a listing of names.
I love Prudence and her love interest. I loved the pacing of the book. The romance wasn't forced, and the pacing was well done. I truly enjoyed reading this it was a delightful clean read.
