Life Selected Poems by Carly Wiggins is a deeply resonating collection that invites readers into the poet's world of reflective moments and heartfelt experiences.
Each poem is a snapshot of life, expressing the universal themes of love, faith, loss, and the quiet beauty of everyday moments.
Wiggins' lyrical, poetic style captures what it means to be human, offering her personal insights with broader reflections that celebrate the highs and lows of life.
Carly Wiggins resides in Houston, Texas. She helps as a teacher's aide for a school with students with special needs. June's Faith isn't a memoir, but her faith played a major role in the writing of the novella. She is also the author of a poetry book called Life Stanzas: Selected Poems. She loves music, audiobooks, and spending her free time in Vermont.
Thought-provoking Life Stanzas is a thoughtful collection of poetry written over a period of two decades. Most of the poems are spiritual, religious, and offer deeply inspiring verse. I applaud the author's perseverance curating such a large collection. Some of my favorites were The Ballerina is on her toes, Childlike Sunset, The Carpenter Knows Me, I Miss You, Little Robin's, and Wide as The Sea. As the author shares her life experiences in her work, we can all relate to the situations she writes about and find comfort and perspective in her conclusions. I would recommend this book and look forward to more writings from Carly Wiggins.
Carly’s book of poems is a beautiful journey through the depths of the human experience, her experience. With thoughtful insights, Carly captures the complexities of life, loss, hope, and resilience, all whilst relating these experiences to the God she clearly honors.
Over two decades her poems reflect the faithfulness of God and her faithfulness, to Him, whilst responding to the challenges life brings. Life Stanzas invite readers to reflect on their own experiences and emotions, and to look for God’s hand in them.
This collection is a testament to the power of poetry to touch our hearts and minds. Carly writes as a disciple of Christ. It is refreshing to see her faith in Christ as reflected in her poems.
Personally, I will use Carly's poems as a reference, and I will return to them often.
Encouraging and Inspiring Life Stanzas: Selected Poems, by Carly Wiggins, is an encouraging and inspiring work that provides a different perspective on life. The poems, written over the past two decades, pull the reader into the author’s stream of thought on simple things and situations. Wiggins writes about a wide range of topics, from lost love (I Miss You) to social commentary (Generation “Why”). Many of the poems are conversations with God. These are where the author is at her best. Emotions burst off the page as she cries out to God – sort of like modern day Psalms – with feelings of encouragement, vulnerability, longing, and hope. A standout poem is the haunting “When Death Strikes.”
Wiggins writes in a style that is accessible and easy to understand while also being deep and grounded. She shares her life’s experiences so poignantly and simply, but in such a way to make you feel her pain and joy. I enjoyed her writing quality and found it a perfect read for relaxing and contemplating. The book provides a beautiful reminder to breathe, pray, and relax. I suggest you read and ruminate on a poem a day. Overall, Life Stanzas: Selected Poems, is a book that is incredible, personal, and beautifully crafted. I look forward to more from this talented writer.
