I was cast out and exiled to a life of silence and penance.
Five years in a convent, paying for sins that weren’t mine.
But they can’t keep me caged any longer.
I’m coming back, not as the obedient girl they wanted but as the woman I was always meant to be—vengeful, ruthless, and unbreakable.

My brother thought he could bury me.
Now, I’ll show him just how wrong he was.

Twisted Truths takes place days before the start of Beautiful Mistakes, with haunting flashbacks into Raiden and Lucrezia's dark pasts to set the scene for their epic romance.

Cora Kent fell for her first villain before she even knew what romance was. Ever since Scar was denied a happily ever after, she’s been on a mission to give all the dark, dangerous anti-heroes the endings they deserve. If the Big Bad Wolf had swept Little Red off her feet, it might have saved the fairy tale—so that's exactly what Cora does in her novels: grants her bad boys redemption through passion, power, and the women who can handle them.

When she’s not spinning tales of morally gray heroes and forbidden desires, you’ll find her snuggled up with her cat, sipping a margarita, and watching Grey’s Anatomy.

Oh wow, I had no idea about Lucrezia. I mean, we know what Dante and Saverio told us about her, in their books, but seeing it from her point of view was bad and illuminating.

And Raiden, wow, him too.... incredible.

I can't wait to read their full romance!

I went into this book having not read The Twisted Sisters but I sure did leave wanting to know more and read these books!

Twisted Truth explores the dark and unfortunate past of Raiden and Lucrezia and from what I have gathered has set the scene for their love story.

This book did not hide away from how dark the backgrounds are for these two characters. Lucrezia was a character I instantly felt drawn to. Her built up hurt, anger and sadness was so evident from her narration and had me wanting to dive into her character even more. The backstory was dark and hard to read and I was left utterly gobsmacked at what I was learning about her and was done to her. I felt her rage and her desire for revenge and instantly I wanted to stand alongside her and watch the world that broke her burn. The scenes didn't go into detail but was written well enough to understand what was happening and pick up on how uncomfortable the story was and how dark it was.

Raiden's story I felt didn't go as deep but for sure set the tone. We got an understanding of why he is what he is today and where he comes from ands the heartbreak was for sure felt! Cora Kent did a fantastic job in capturing Raiden's youth and innocence early on while also writing the impact of his trauma well considering how short the story was.

I really did rate this book highly! Despite being very short it was captivating and interesting to read and put me deep into the story enough where I am now interested in diving into this series.

This Short Prequel is a great introduction to Lucrezia and Raiden’s back story. It takes place just a week or so from where Beautiful Mistakes begins (coming soon!)
Both have experienced significant trauma and betrayal. I’m looking forward to learn how these two come to meet.

Being new to this world, the back story of Lucrezia and Raiden helped introduce the characters to me in a way that helps define the driver of Beautiful Mistakes, which I'm currently reading. I greatly appreciate that the author provided this back story for the characters so that as someone new to these characters I understand the motivation behind their actions. Thank you to Cora Kent for an ARC copy of this books for an honest review.

Twisted Truths is a small introduction to our main characters Lucrezia and Raiden, a backstory before following on into Beautiful Mistakes where we continue their story.

Growing up in a home full of trauma, abuse, torture, and no love. It would be a wonder how anyone could survive being only used as a bargaining chip.
Or to be witness to the person you love, die right before your eyes, breaking down the walls in your mind and forging a different path found and offered to get revenge and move forward.

As a prequel, Twisted Truths not only stands strong on its own but also lays a tantalizing foundation for Beautiful Mistakes. It’s the perfect introduction to The Twisted Sisters series, and I can already tell that this is going to be a dark romance saga worth obsessing over. Cora Kent has masterfully set the stage for a story that promises to be as gripping as it is haunting.

The story delves deeply into the psyche of Lucrezia, a heroine whose resilience is forged in the fires of betrayal and loss. Cast out and underestimated, she returns stronger, sharper, and unrelenting in her quest for justice. Her transformation is chillingly empowering, and her determination to face the shadows of her past is nothing short of riveting.

While Lucrezia and Raiden haven’t yet crossed paths, his presence looms over the narrative like a storm on the horizon. Raiden is an enigma, a figure whose motivations and role in Lucrezia’s world remain tantalizingly unclear. Through Kent’s artful hints and evocative writing, he feels like both a threat and a salvation waiting to happen. This tension makes the anticipation of their eventual meeting almost unbearable, setting the stage for a collision that promises to be explosive.

Cora Kent’s writing is a masterclass in atmosphere and emotion, weaving a narrative steeped in danger, passion, and unspoken truths. The flashbacks are particularly effective, adding depth to the characters and illuminating the harrowing choices that have shaped their lives. Despite its shorter length, Twisted Truths feels almost like a complete story, immersing you in its dark world while leaving you desperate for more at the last page.

If you’re a fan of dark romance, morally complex characters, and stories that keep you guessing, Twisted Truths is a must-read. It’s a gripping introduction to The Twisted Sisters series, and I, for one, am eagerly awaiting the moment when Lucrezia and Raiden finally face each other. Their story promises to be unforgettable, and Cora Kent has ensured I’ll be counting down the days until Beautiful Mistakes arrives.

Twisted Truths is the Prequel too Beautiful Mistakes in the The Twisted Sisters series.
Be warned it gets Dark.

“La famiglia è tutto. Family is everything. Without it, we are nothing.”

The book starts off with Lucrezia’s taking some of her power back and then flashes to where she was so very young still and being broken.
I was sucked in straight away and knowing this is a prequel were ready to devour the main book as well.

Twisted Truths gives very good insight into the characters of Lucrezia and Raiden.
Very helpful to understand where they are coming from and why they are they way they are.

Lux went trough dark darknesses at a very young age and most of it is the reason for the main book.

“Lucrezia Castiglione,” she would say, her voice hard and cold. “You are a daughter of sin, born into a family that walks hand in hand with the devil. You will never know salvation.”

“Every single one of you who dared to hurt me, who thought they could hold me down…” I let the words hang in the air for a moment, the taste of freedom dancing on the tip of my tongue. “I’m going to bury all of you.”

Raidens past shaped some of him but I get the feeling his adulthood is where he was cut into the mad he is now.

Raiden:
This life is everything I’ve ever wanted—freedom, power, control—I can’t imagine my life ever changing. Why would it? This is exactly how it’s supposed to be. I’ve carved out my own little slice of paradise in this chaotic world, and I’ll be damned if I let anyone take it from me. No ties, no commitments, just me and my bike against whatever comes our way. Yeah, this is the life I was meant for, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Go read it then be ready to devour beautiful Mistakes !!

"Twisted Truths" is a short but gritty prequel that sets the stage for Beautiful Mistakes, offering just enough to spark interest without fully delivering on the central romance—yet. Raiden and Lucrezia don’t interact in this installment, which was a bit of a letdown if you’re hoping for early sparks. Instead, we’re introduced to them separately, with flashbacks that give insight into their respective pasts and how those traumas have shaped them.

Lucrezia returns after five years in exile, a woman hell bent on revenge. Her desire for revenge and domination feels raw and justified, and her voice carries a sharp edge that makes you want to see what she'll do next. Raiden comes across as a "devil may care" enforcer, ruthless and unbothered on the surface, but his backstory hints at something much deeper—a broken boy behind the brutal exterior.

While there’s no chemistry yet between the leads due to their lack of interaction, the potential is there. Both characters are intense, unyielding, and clearly on a collision course. Their eventual meeting promises tension, fire, and emotional complexity.

Final Thoughts: 3.5 stars for the prequel. It didn’t completely grip me on its own, but it left me intrigued enough to immediately pick up Beautiful Mistakes, where the real story (and relationship) begins. If you like dark romance with mafia and MC crossover vibes, this is a solid start.

Wicked Desires was my first and only Cora Kent read up until Twisted Truths, so I only had minimal knowledge of Lucrezia when I picked this one up.

But, whoo boy, for being a short prequel novella (a set up for Beautiful Mistakes), Lucrezia's part of the story is intense! Her flashback chapters definitely make you feel for the innocent child that she used to be, but I think I'm still too bitter about what she did to her big brother in Wicked Desires to really feel for her as the woman she is now. Maybe I'll like her more when I get around to Beautiful Mistakes.

As for Raiden, I have to admit that I fell a little in love with him right off the bat. His flashback chapters in Twisted Truths only made me love him more - they break your heart, but they really set up his character and provide some insight into his issues and motivations.

This one didn't have as many graphic scenes as Wicked Desires (and no spicey scenes), but even so, keep an eye out for triggers. One flashback chapter for Lucrezia references some tough childhood abuse, though it doesn't actually describe the events (if you've read other books she has shown up in, you probably know what I'm talking about), but it still might be a difficult chapter for some readers.

Cora Kent is back with yet another thrilling prequel to tease us!

Twisted Truths introduces Raiden and Lucrezia, our hottest new couple in the interconnected Kent-verse. We first learn about Lucrezia in Wicked Desires, where she’s unveiled as a cunning mastermind—a woman with autonomy and the ability to spin the truth to suit her narrative. Despite being a victim of relentless abuse, this short prequel gives us a glimpse of the real Lucrezia. Her journey is defined by pivotal moments, whether within her own family or during her exile at the monastery. One thing is certain: she refuses to give up.

"This is it. This is the moment I take back control—the moment I stop being the victim."

Then there’s Raiden. He’s not looking to be anyone’s savior (not that Lucrezia needs one). He’s a man who avoids attachments, content with his carefree life. But he wasn’t always this way. Once an idealistic teenager in love, harsh realities transformed him into the hardened, aloof man he is now.

Our two protagonists don’t cross paths in this prequel yet, but the anticipation is already electric. When these two strong-willed characters finally meet, the chemistry is bound to be explosive. Passion, tension, and love? Count me in!

Beautiful Mistakes releases on March 4, and I truly can’t wait!

Lucrezia has endured a life defined by control—first at the hands of her mafia family, where power is forged through fear, and later within the walls of a convent ruled by cruelty masquerading as salvation. Years of abuse and betrayal leave her hardened and determined to break free from the chains of her past. Armed with a fierce determination to claim the power denied to her, she embarks on a path of calculated revenge, vowing to bring down those who sought to break her spirit.

Raiden lives by his own rules of no attachments, no promises, no regrets. Leading the ruthless motorcycle gang, the Destroyers, gives him power, control, and the independence he craves. But beneath the tough exterior lies a man haunted by a devastating past, a tragedy that shattered his world and hardened his heart. Raiden has vowed never to love after the loss of his long-ago girlfriend Becca, the one person who saw through his defenses and paid the ultimate price. Her loss led him into a world of vengeance and street justice, drawing him into a world of secrets and betrayals that will shape his life to come.

A raw and gripping introduction to the trauma, loss, survival, and need for revenge that have figured in the lives of Lucrezia and Raiden before they meet in "Beautiful Mistakes."

I just finished *Twisted Truths*, and I’m honestly *reeling*. This little prequel packs more raw emotion, darkness, and tension into 39 pages than some full-length novels manage in 300. Cora Kent, HOW do you do this to me every time?

From the first page, I was hooked by Lucrezia’s quiet strength—she’s trapped in a world that’s twisted her silence into survival, but you can *feel* the storm brewing underneath. And then there’s Raiden. Broken, brutal, and completely unforgettable. He’s not a hero—he’s a haunted weapon. And yet… there’s this flicker of vulnerability that gutted me.

Even though Lucrezia and Raiden haven’t *met* yet in the story, you can feel their fates circling each other. The dual POVs are perfectly balanced—Lucrezia’s chapters are like clenched fists, and Raiden’s feel like open wounds. I was *glued* to every line.

This isn’t just a mafia novella. It’s trauma, rage, and resilience distilled into something sharp and beautiful. You *will* want to read *Beautiful Mistakes* immediately after—trust me, you won’t be able to resist.

If you love morally grey characters, slow-burning vengeance, and stories that sink their teeth into your soul—*Twisted Truths* is a must-read.

🖤 10/10 would sell my soul for more of the Castiglione and Drake families.

TWISTED TRUTHS is the prequel short in Cora Kent’s contemporary, adult, TWISTED SISTERS dark, erotic, MC, Mafia romance focusing on Lucrezia Castiglione and thirty-two year old, Raiden Drake. TWISTED TRUTHS takes place approximately one week prior to BEAUTIFUL MISTAKES

NOTE: Due to the nature of the story line premise, there may be triggers for more sensitive readers.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Lucrezia and Raiden) following several timelines, TWISTED TRUTHS reveals some of the background and dark history for each of our leading characters. Lucrezia Castiglione is the daughter of a Mafia Don, a throwaway object to be used and abused but Lucrezia refuses to hide, to go quietly, and we see the aftermath of years of abuse. Meanwhile Raiden Drake is a young man who has fallen in love with his best friend, a girl whose life will be taken in the blink of an eye. Lucrezia and Raiden have yet to cross paths, and in this life is about to change for both.

TWISTED TRUTHS is a dramatic, and fast paced, quick read of betrayal, power, death and destruction. An introduction to the author’s TWISTED SISTERS series.

Lucrezia Castiglione is a very bad girl. Just ask Mother Superior, who told Lucrezia every day for five years. Oops, you can’t. She’s in the ground. Lucrezia is the daughter of a mafia boss, and even her father hurts her when he commits the ultimate act of betrayal against her. Lucrezia has had enough, and vows to kill every person that has hurt her.

Raiden Drake is a member of the Destroyers motorcycle club. He views women as a distraction, a plaything, and not to be taken seriously. Raiden lost his childhood best friend and first love, Becca, when he was 16 years old, to a drive-by shooting. That’s when he met Becca’s father Priest, who was the president of the Destroyers.

Twisted Truths is about a series of brutal flashbacks experienced by Lucrezia and Raiden. It explains how and why they both got to where they are today. Twisted Truths is an excellent prequel to a new series by Cora Kent, the Twisted Sisters Series. Cora Kent is known for her well-written, mafia romance stories. Take a chance on this new series, starting with this prequel.

Twisted Truth is the prequel novella to Beautiful Mistakes & Cora Kent has done what she always does best. Wrote a prequel that instantly hooks you in & wanting more of the characters before their story is even out. Honestly, she never fails. After reading Wicked Desires & now this prequel, I want nothing more than Lucrezia’s story because when she was mentioned in previous books, I really wasn’t a fan, she appeared to be on a mission to ruin everyone. But now, having read this quick prequel, you will understand why she is this way. You won't blame her really. She’s been through something traumatic.

This book is clearly setting us up for what I can imagine being a wild revenge mission, & from Raiden’s POV & his previous trauma, an unwanted love story.

It’s only 3 stars, because I do think, like all previous prequels, this could have been added to the main book as a prologue. There is no in-depth drama, just a quick skimming of what happened. Yes, it's insightful & you get to learn about the characters, but not necessary for a book alone.

An intriguing short novella

This is a very short prequel novella that introduces us to the background of Lucrezia, the daughter of the cruel Midwest Mafia Boss, and Raiden’s, a member of the Destroyers MC story. We get a glimpse of the hardships and heartache they get to experience in a very young age that shape their mind and heart to what it is today. I really felt for both of them, but mostly – and unexpectedly, I might add – for Lucrezia. In the previous novel (Saverio and Lucia’s story) I was of the opinion that she was just an evil, manipulative, power-hungry woman with no empathy. This novel showed how it all started for her – and for Raiden. I don’t want to reveal anything since it’s a really short novella, but what she’s been through left a sour taste in my mouth to say at least. Raiden’s heartache is different, but also tragic. I can’t wait to learn more about them and their road to HEA that I am sure won’t be without its twists and turns in Beautiful Mistakes. 4 stars.

⭐️⭐️⭐️ | A Dark Prelude with Promise

Twisted Truths delivers an intense, emotionally charged prequel that sets the stage for Beautiful Mistakes with vengeance, betrayal, and buried secrets at its core. After five years locked away in a convent for sins that weren’t her own, Lucrezia emerges hardened and unyielding, ready to take back what was stolen. The book plunges readers into her fractured past with Raiden, offering twisted flashbacks and simmering tension that hint at the complicated romance to come.

While the themes of retribution and resilience are gripping, the pacing sometimes wavers between present-day plot and flashbacks, occasionally disrupting the emotional momentum. Lucrezia is a strong lead, but her transformation from obedient to ruthless could’ve used a bit more nuance to feel fully earned. Still, for fans of dark romance and sibling betrayal, this dramatic introduction delivers enough intrigue to warrant continuing the series.

A must-read! ✨

Twisted Truths is an intense and captivating prequel that immediately draws you into the dark, vengeful world of Raiden and Lucrezia.

The story beautifully sets the stage for their epic romance, blending haunting flashbacks with present-day moments of defiance and strength.

I like Lucrezia’s transformation from a silenced, obedient girl to a fierce and unbreakable woman is thrilling to witness.

The writing is raw and emotional, delivering just enough suspense to keep me turning the pages while uncovering the layers of betrayal and pain in their pasts.

This short prequel is the perfect teaser, giving readers a taste of the angst, tension, and passion that awaits in Beautiful Mistakes.

Whether you’re new to their story or a longtime fan, Twisted Truths is a must-read that leaves you desperate for more!

I absolutely love this 🥰

This is the prequel to Beautiful Mistakes. Lucrezia finds herself suffering at the hands of the Mother Superior at the convent to which she was sent. Lucrezia does the only thing she knows to do to make it all stop. All she ever wanted was to be part of the family, but her father put a stop to that and sent her to the convent. Then her father bestows the ultimate betrayal upon her, and she realizes she is not family, but only property to her father. If you want to find out Lucrezia and Raiden's stories in the weeks leading up to Beautiful Mistakes, you will want to read this prequel.

Twisted Truths is the prequel in the Twisted Sisters series. This is a dark mafia/mc romance. Twisted Truths gives us the backstory on Lucrezia, who we heard about in Wicked Desires from The Terlizzi Family series. Lucrezia had a very hard and traumatic childhood. Now that she's older, she has her mind set on revenge. We also get a look into the back story of Raiden. Raiden is living a simple laid back life, just the way he likes it, with his friends and found family in the Destroyers MC. Raiden also suffered a traumatic event in his childhood that forever changed his life. Great start to a new series and I can't wait to see what is to come in Beautiful Mistakes!!!.

This is the prequel to Beautiful Mistakes and introduces us to the characters. Um… wow. I got thrown for a loop twice during this short prequel. I won’t give anything away because everyone hates spoilers. Cora’s ability to write and give us these amazing introductions to her stories is amazing. Twisted Truth is the 4th piece I’ve read from Cora and I love it sooo much!
The one thing that bothered me in this was (tiny spoiler ahead)....

Lucrezia kept making noise when spying on her father’s meetings and it made me annoyed. 😤

This prequel is about Raiden and Lucrezia, and wow does it have me dying for their book. We’ve met Lucrezia before and got to hear how wild she is, and all these rumors surrounding her. But to see what started her down her path? WOW. And then there’s Raiden. Already I’m in love with him. I’m getting heavy Jax Teller vibes and I know I’d do anything this man says. I cannot wait to see these two collide.

Found this prequel before the main series and I'm so glad! There's always a sense of understanding when you read a character's backstory after already knowing what happens. But reading the backstory first is a different feeling altogether, it makes you eager to see what your main characters are going to do next.

The main characters Lucrezia and Raiden both had a youth tainted with pain, and are now determined, burning for justice for themselves.

This book would be great for anyone who wants a short read and loves darker stories.

I can't wait to read Beautiful Mistakes now.

This prequel is FIRE! I’ve been hooked on this Dark Mafia romance series by Cora Kent ever since I read “Ruthless Sinner” a few months ago.

Lucrezia and Raiden come from two very different worlds. Having endured trauma and suffering, they strive to take back control of their lives, at any cost. These two are an unlikely pair who share common goals. I am looking forward to checking out the full length story in “Beautiful Mistakes”.

I received an Advanced Reader Copy and am voluntarily reviewing it. This short prequel will have readers anxiously awaiting book one of this series. We finally get to Lucrezia Castiglione. Readers found out a little about Lucrezia in Saverio and Lucia’s book. Lucrezia is Saverio’s sister. Girls were not valued in the Castiglione household. They had a place and it was not in a position of power. What will she do to get the power that she craves? I can’t wait to see what Lucrezia comes up with to get the power she craves.

This is a prequel, meant to give you more information and details of another story. This is not a stand alone or happily ever after kind of story, it is the beginning or preceding events to Beautiful Mistakes. I would only suggest reading it if you intend to read that story. It is the grit and determination of FMC that shines in this story showing what she has gone through before Beautiful Mistakes, it is well written and engaging and introduces you to the MMC and FMC. Good prequel.
