To save a people they deeply mistrust, they are forced to work alongside traitors, killers and political enemies, ones prepared to commit genocide to save their own skins. And just when they thought things could not get worse, the sea begins to sing.
7. Legion Echo, the clones of Delta Squad, pursue the alien horror from Alien Rebirth back to Earth. Their search takes them to where it all began in Scotland, encountering Private Mills and his new allies, a squad of Stratan Marines. But in a stroke, the world changes when all of humanity is attacked at once, leaving Echo to choose who lives and who dies.
8. Nemesis Earth is a double feature ending, two books in one to complete the series.
Nick Snape has been steeped in Science Fiction and Fantasy since his friends first dragged him from his schoolwork and stuck a book under his nose. Lost to the world of imagination he became a teacher by accident though he thoroughly enjoyed developing the joy of reading and writing in his pupils. Having retired after thirty years he thought it was high time to practise what he preached.
Series have a lot of promise and is an interesting take, however it lacks the power to keep me interested and wanting to read it. They are several main characters, but they are all so deeply flawed that I can’t relate to any of them. This flawed band of characters who are supposed to be highly trained/educated then proceed from one situation to another with almost no planning for contingencies or emergencies. I stopped reading halfway through book 2 because the situations and character flaws just became too much for me. I tried to force myself to read thinking it would get better and it didn’t.
Love this scifi series. Great, believable characters thrust into first contact, then slowly understanding that they have stumbled across a galaxy wide 'spoiler' programme gone wrong. Meanwhile, the ship AI is on a journey of self-discovery of their own, and help Delta come across the power to make a difference while trying to get home. From organic AI, space marines to arena combat and the awakening of a heinous alien villain. Brilliant.
