A call from a friend ignites a chain reaction of chaos.
Jordan DuBois has worked hard to get where he is. As an Assistant Special Agent in Charge for the Office of the Inspector General, his days are full of investigations and paperwork. When he digs into the murder of a small-town farmer as a favor to an old friend, he finds himself embroiled in an investigation that jeopardizes not only his career, but his marriage and his life.

Dalton stands at the precipice of a decision that will change his life forever.
As a seasoned investigator, Dalton Fowler is confident in his ability to follow leads and solve cases, but Lincoln’s latest request blindsides him. Feelings of inadequacy haunt him, even as he struggles to protect Lincoln from threats both known and unknown. As danger crouches close to those he loves most, he fights to keep everyone safe, even as he faces the biggest decision of his life.

Threats to the global food supply could spell starvation for billions of people.
The deeper Jordan digs, the more he realizes that the investigation has global consequences. The Shadows’ latest plot puts Jordan directly in their crosshairs. With the stakes higher than ever, Jordan must race against time to unravel their plot and prevent widespread food crises. But the truth could exact a painfully high price. Is he willing to risk it all to do what God has called him to do?

This is one of my favorite series to read. Book 6 is no disappointment. These are not standalone titles. Start from the first book in the series if you haven't already. Extremely addictive. I have said it before, I will say it again, one of the Wonderful things about the way that candle writes is that, she manages to gently weave scripture into each book. It's not in the way you may think, it is gentle and loving. She does a wonderful job of balancing Suspense and faith. The shadows are a group of people that hover on the fringe. Much like many things done in the dark, they are up to no good. The only difference is, what they are doing will affect the world. This series is definitely a modern day good and evil. We get to see how faith, and Christ, gently guides those who are on the side of good. We also see how Satan plays apart in the darkness of the world. This entire series will have you addicted. Fortunately, the next book will be released this summer.

I really like this author, and this series is great. In addition to the good stories and suspense, I really like the strong faith element. I'm looking forward to the next one. If you have not read the others, be sure to do so. The prequel is one of my favorites that I pull up every so often to reread.
