Abigail Knotts is six feet tall and on a mission to teach! Piano, that is. Among her newest students is Mr. Thomas Johnston, a tall, smart, and handsome tech CEO. Abby's a goner as soon as she looks up into his eyes.
Thomas Johnston is in love with his long-time college crush (and current marketing director), but can't seem to catch her favor. After learning about her fondness for musicians, he decides to try his hand at the piano and learn a Christmas piece for the company work party. Enter Abby! As she teaches him the instrument, he quickly realizes there's another area in which he could use her the art of flirting. Abby hesitantly agrees, and Thomas is over the moon. As sparks begin to fly between them, they both just have to remember the end goal for these flirting lessons, and nothing can go wrong... Right?
This holiday romance is full of wit, Christmas music, and flirtatious banter that ultimately leads to a happily ever after.
I loved Abby and Thomas! I loved that they just seamlessly got along from the get go. Abby was comfortable with herself and Thomas had to figure out what he truly wanted. My favorite part of it all was how their flirting was natural and fun! 😍
Also, that plot twist! Did not see that one coming!
Favorite Quotes: “Glad we could fit my falling in love with you into a half an hour time slot once a week. My schedule will be full up soon and I’d hate to miss out on that.” I nudge his arm playfully so he knows I’m kidding. Half kidding? “It’s like skydiving,” he says quietly. “Scheduling it certainly doesn’t take away the exhilaration of the task.” He’s got a knowing smile on his face, and it’s getting bigger by the second. Did he just? He just made scheduled flirting sexy? Aren’t I supposed to be the teacher here? That may be the smoothest thing I’ve ever heard. My mouth is gaping wide open.
He looks at me, and the only way I can describe it is that he drinks me in. He stares at my curls and my eyes and my lips. His eyes travel from my shoulders down to my toes and quickly back up to my eyes. “You look,” he stutters and pauses. “You look. You look very…” “I hope there’s an adjective in my future,” I laugh nervously. Maybe I overdid it. “Stunning. Absolutely stunning.” My hands come up and squish my cheeks. Why am I nervous? “Thank you.” “Sorry we took a little longer than planned,” Anna says. “It’s worth every second,” Thomas answers without looking away from me.
Delightful Christmas novel (but you can read it anytime of the year)! I loved watching the relationship dynamics of Abby and Thomas as they meet and become friends. They were a fun couple, even though they're not interested in each other. ;-) You have to read to understand.
I was laughing and giggling throughout this whole book. I loved the author's sense of humor and how she wrote that humor into these characters. The secondary characters were a lot of fun and rounded out the story perfectly.
And I absolutely loved all of the music references!!! I'm a musician (and used to teach piano lessons for years and years) and was grinning over all of it!
And I can't forget to mention the chemistry! You'll be cheering for these two from their first interaction as the sparks are flying. Loved it! Thomas might be a bit slow to figure things out but it's totally worth it watching him and the little nudges he gets from the other characters that help open his eyes! Hee Hee!!! Seriously, they are the best in how they help him out.
I've read the book a couple of times now and I'm looking forward to seeing how many friends all get books! Rose's story is next and it was another delightful read! Yes, I read it and loved it!
Content: Sweet and clean romance. No language or other content. Great clean read for all clean romance readers!
I purchased my own copy. All thoughts and opinions in the review are my own.
I loved this whole book! Adorable characters! I loved the boss and the piano teacher! Such a unique and fun storyline! And Christmas! Perfect! So cute! I can’t wait to read the next one!
Thanks to the author for this story! All thoughts and opinions are my own!
Yes I'm Tall is a heartwarming and sweet romance that effortlessly weaves together personal growth, unspoken feelings, and unexpected love. The story follows Abigail Knotts, a talented piano teacher who, after being unexpectedly laid off from her job, finds herself struggling to get back on her feet. In a twist of fate, one of her students, Thomas Johnston, offers her a job at his company to help support her while she builds her piano business.
As Abigail begins to work at Thomas's company, she also agrees to help him in a different way—by teaching him how to flirt. Thomas has had his eye on his long-time college crush for years, and with Abigail’s guidance, he hopes to finally win her heart. However, as Abigail spends more time with Thomas, she finds herself falling for him. The emotional conflict that arises from helping Thomas get closer to another woman, while secretly developing feelings for him herself, makes for a beautifully complicated dynamic.
The real charm of this story lies in the gradual development of Thomas and Abigail's relationship. While Abigail is helping him perfect his flirting, Thomas grows more and more enamored with her. His journey of realizing that his heart lies with Abigail instead of his college crush is tender and full of emotional depth.
The author does a wonderful job capturing the emotional complexities of both characters, and the pacing of the story is perfect. Yes I am Tall is a delightful read. The story strikes a balance between the personal challenges Abigail faces in rebuilding her career and the blossoming love story that unfolds between her and Thomas.
Ultimately, Yes I'm Tall is a touching, feel-good romance that will leave readers smiling. It's a story about helping others find love, and discovering that sometimes love finds you when you least expect it.
I really enjoyed Robyn's debut contemporary romcom! Thomas and Abby are the cutest, and their chemistry is obvious from their first meeting. I also love Abby’s friends and how they love and support each other. This book was a warm hug on a cold morning. It is the perfect comfort read to get you into the holiday spirit.
Yes, I am Tall by Robyn Aimee is a sweet romantic comedy that I really enjoyed. Abby Knots is a piano teacher who is excited to start her new job. One of her students is an adult, Thomas Johnston, who wants to learn to play to impress a women. They hit it off, connect, and Abby agrees to teach him to flirt. But what happens when you start liking the person you are flirting with?
This was a delight! I enjoyed getting lost in this sweet holiday story. Abby is an engaging female main character who was kind, relatable, and fun to be around. Thomas was a thoughtful hero who I was rooting for. Together they had great banter, chemistry, and a sweet friendship. The secondary characters added humor and depth to the story. I found myself hoping that I would learn more about them in future books. (I am hopeful)
This was a festive Christmas read that sparkled and is perfect for the holiday or really any time of year. The engaging characters, humor and chemistry kept me engaged to the happily ever after. I highly recommend.
I was given a copy by the publisher and not required to write a positive review
This is a lighthearted romance told in first person through the alternating points of view of Abby and Thomas.
Abby is a piano teacher, while Thomas is the successful owner of a well-known tech company. What starts as simple piano lessons (Thomas trying to impress a long-term friend) quickly turns into something more, because Thomas picks up on Abby’s natural flair for flirting, and those lessons begin to feel like flirt lessons instead. The result is a sweet, charming romance with plenty of “ohh” and “ahh” moments that will make you smile.
This is one of those reads that doesn’t take itself too seriously—fun, easy to enjoy, and filled with heart. I especially loved how the chemistry between Abby and Thomas develops in such a playful way.
And the best part? There’s more to come! The second book, Yes I’m an Author, follows Rose, another character from this story. That one is definitely going straight onto my TBR, because I can’t wait to see how her journey unfolds.
If you’re looking for an indie romance that’s sweet, flirty, and fun, Yes I’m Tall is worth picking up.
*happy sigh* I love Abby and Thomas. Thomas is so adorably awkward and a little socially anxious, and Abby is hilarious. It’s refreshing to have a super tall heroine in a romcom!
I devoured this in one day (oops, sorry not sorry) and have added this whole series to my auto-buy list in the future. The characters are loveable and distinct, there’s no third-act breakup yet it still has the perfect dose of angst and pining, and the banter is witty and funny! I laughed out loud multiple times. Definitely looking forward to reading more from Robyn!
This book is perfect for fans of: - closed door, kisses-only romance with emotion-focused kisses - adorably and realistically flawed main characters - a dash of music - girl squad friend groups - grand gestures - flirting lessons - no swearing
When Thomas asks Abby for help getting another girl to think of him differently, Abby jumps in with both feet! I love that she knew the risk of falling for him, yet helped him anyway. I usually hate love triangles, but in this case, you can tell exactly who Thomas is supposed to love! And the path there was swoony and hilarious! I need more books by Robyn Aimee!
I love the dual POVs and how naturally the events flowed.
I love that all the women were wonderful and kind-supportive of each other. We need more of that in stories.
I love that the FMC is tall and the MMC loves that about her. There are so many stories about small, petite girls always getting the guy-it’s nice to see something different.
I love how the emphasis of true love is being known and cherished for our quarks.
Abby and Thomas are two people who develop feelings naturally over time in a very organic way. Her friend group of girls are genuinely nice people who I want to hang out with. Clean romance, totally ok for readers who don't want spice but want feelings and genuine attraction.
This is probably one of my favorite "love triangle" reads. I loved the characters, they were a little quirky, but still relatable. I can't wait to read more from this author. This was a sweet romance, I'd rate PG for kissing.
