When Death Inadvertently Takes Santa. This is one of those short, quick read (sub 100 page!) laugh out loud / high WTF per minute type comedies that is perfect for end of year reading when you want something completely different and offbeat, but also something that isn't so heavy or dense. Based on a sort of Meet Joe Black meets The Santa Claus (the Tim Allen movies of old) mashup, Sullivan does a great job of telling a compact yet fun story perfect for those (like me) who may not be familiar with her work going into this text. And for those fans of Kent Holloway's Silas Mott... it seems Ms. Sullivan may be continuing with her version of this type of character, so absolutely check these books out too.

Oh no! Death killed Santa!
Oh no! Death killed Santa! That’s the premise of this dark comedy and most recent entry to Sullivan’s “Days of Death” series. When Kaah (Death) accidently touches Sanda with his scythe, the big guy drops dead. So to save Christmas, Death must become Santa and deliver the toys while his friends try to find a way to resurrect him. The dry humor flows nicely, as it has throughout the series, and Kaah’s down-to-earth attitude is a great personality for Death to have. I’m not sure I agreed with the torture method of watching Die Hard on repeat, but otherwise this story was solid and flowed nicely. Plus we learn about a hidden evil within the elf world that Kaah must also deal with. Fun for anyone looking for a quick holiday read.

Loved it fun quirky and a real sleigh ride. A reaper as Santa who would have thought it ?
