Some person likely said that a story shouldn’t start with the main “hero” “heroine” or whoever wakes up, that it’s lazy to do so. Screw that. That’s exactly where my path to carnage ladened revenge begins. This is my tale and you’ll get exactly how I feel it’s best to dish it out. I’ve lost my memories, my life, and only know there is a single person out there I need to save. My sister. I will do anything, become anyone in order to seek out the revenge on who stole my memories and sister from me. Except, the mountain and the mortician are in my way of sacrificing myself for my sister and a life I dream for the two of us. Kidnapped by the mountain and held hostage by the mortician; I’m really going to have to put some thought behind how I’m going to get away from them. Too bad for me they are as big as psychos as I am.
Trigger I'm no good with these, so I'm trying my best. There's trauma, dismembering, torture, unaliving, kidnapping, and maybe a few other things. Like I said, I'm not good with these. I don't have triggers when I read so pointing out ones for my own book is difficult. Enter with caution and I hope you enjoy my three psychos.
Brooke lives in North Central Wyoming with her husband she affectionately refers to as the warden, their two wild and crazy boys, and her yellow lab, Timber. When she doesn't have her nose in a good story, Brooke enjoys spending as much time as she can outside. Walking around town, fishing, hunting, hiking, and messing around the mountains, Brooke loves the great outdoors which shows up quite a bit in her works. Brooke has been writing and telling stories since she was old enough to get someone to sit and listen to her, mainly being her best friend. She started off posting fanfictions and then decided to publish when she was on maternity leave with her youngest. A year later My Cowboy came out. Brooke doesn't just write one type of romances, but loves to explore as many as her mind can come up with. Her hobbies outside of reading are landscape photography, drawing, and just being outside where she can get dirty.
This book took me on a long (2 years), wild (massive understatement) ride. Before I even dreamt up this book, when someone would ask me which I wrote was my favorite, I would treat it like which child is my favorite. Each of my books has a special part of me either experience I have shared with a character or few or a piece of my personality because let's face it, there's a lot that goes into making us who we are. I can't lie anymore. This book, to date (2024/2025) is my favorite book I've written. I allowed my imagination to run away from me and I don't think I'll ever get it back. My longest story, also to date, but most definitely my favorite. Scout's adventure started off with a simple idea that branched off in so many directions it took me seven times to come back to get it all figured out! There were so many ideas I wanted to run with but not all leading in the direction I wanted. And that's all I can give you without giving anything away. There are trigger warnings. Something I'm not very good at writing so if you see something you think I should probably mention please let me know. There are two love interests. And there is one broken woman trying to right the world. Like all my books, I hope you enjoy this one! x Brooke
**There is one big trigger warning on this book with three psychos in play. Make sure to check it out.** Brooke has written a superbly twisted plotted tale. This dark romance horror tale offers a fabulous and intriguing read filled with themes of carnage, revenge, chaos, and vengeance. Awaking with no memory but with a taste of revenge on your lips. Remorse, guilt, and empathy have long been discarded as Scout searches for answers. Scout, Mountain aka Remy and the Mortician aka Jamie are the three main characters who embody emotional pain, reckless adventures, violence, and impulsivity. They display vulnerability alongside a distorted moral compass. Each character has their own agenda, but this is Scouts story, and she will stop at nothing to achieve her goals. Ultimately, she may have reached a point of no return, severing her last thin connection to the normal world. Who did this to her? Revenge is sweet. Let the mayhem and madness begin. This story is different from what Brooke typically writes, but that doesn’t make it any less compelling.
At this point I’ve read many books by Brooke May and each of them has been great in its own way. She comes up with original storylines that grab your attention and hold it throughout the books and she has covered many different topics, but Gunmetal Psychos would be her first foray into the ‘dark’ romance genre. This book is also a little longer than is typical of her books and definitely has trigger warnings that should be reviewed before reading it. I also love how it’s from multiple point of views. It’s very fast paced and all three main characters are different versions of the same psycho bent on revenge and causing chaos. Gunmetal Psychos was a fresh, thrilling change from her usual fare but was just as enjoyable to read.
Brooke May’s Gunmetal Psychosis is a dark, gritty, and unapologetically twisted tale of revenge, trauma, and survival. From the very first line, the book demands your attention and refuses to let go, dragging you into a world of brutality, chaos, and psychological depth. It’s a raw and unflinching story, not for the faint of heart, but for readers who crave something daringly intense and unique, this is an absolute must-read.
The story follows an unnamed protagonist, a relentless antihero on a violent quest to recover her stolen memories and rescue her sister. The narrative kicks off with a bold opening—defying literary conventions by starting with the protagonist waking up—and spirals into a relentless path of carnage. Stripped of her identity but driven by a fierce love for her sister, she battles her own inner demons while facing two equally deranged figures: the Mountain and the Mortician. These two are as unsettling and enigmatic as the protagonist herself, and their dynamic adds layers of intrigue and danger to the story.
May excels in crafting complex, deeply flawed characters who are as terrifying as they are captivating. The protagonist is unapologetically savage, yet her vulnerability seeps through her unyielding determination, making her someone you root for despite the bloodshed she leaves in her wake. The Mountain and the Mortician are perfect foils—both monstrous and unpredictable, but with surprising depth that makes them far more than mere antagonists.
The prose is visceral and raw, perfectly matching the story’s tone. May doesn’t shy away from graphic violence or disturbing themes, and her use of language heightens the intensity of the protagonist’s journey. At times, it feels like you’re experiencing the protagonist’s fractured psyche firsthand—a chaotic, gripping experience that keeps you hooked.
That said, the book does come with heavy trigger warnings, as the author acknowledges. The violence, trauma, and themes of dismemberment and torture may not sit well with everyone, and this is definitely a story meant for those who can handle such dark material. But for readers who enjoy exploring the darker corners of human nature, Gunmetal Psychosis delivers a cathartic, gut-punching ride.
What makes this book stand out is its unflinching authenticity. May writes with a fearless voice, unbothered by traditional storytelling rules, and the result is a gritty, unapologetic narrative that resonates with raw emotion. The story is chaotic, violent, and unnerving, yet it’s also deeply human—a reflection of pain, love, and survival in the most harrowing of circumstances.
In Gunmetal Psychosis, Brooke May doesn’t just tell a story; she drags you into the abyss and forces you to confront its horrors alongside the protagonist. It’s an unforgettable, heart-pounding read for those who can brave its darkness.
The way this story was written with multiple POV’s was top tier! I loved every moment of this dark romance thriller! I was drawn in almost immediately, do not let the length of this book steer you away, I SWEAR it’s worth it! This is not rainbows and butterflies so please check the trigger warnings before starting! A powerful love triangle between Jameson, Remington, and Scout was ripped apart in an instant. Jameson and Remington were left to grieve not only their true love but others as well while also trying to plan a way to take back what was rightfully theirs. They were left to believe Scout was dead, meanwhile Scout was at a hospital with no memory and no one coming to claim her. Scout eventually was released after spending time in Canyon Cross Mental Hospital. Scout had zero memories of what her life was like prior to the accident; she was left with just her name, Saylor’s (her sister) voice inside her head, and a few names she was able to find during some research once she was able to have internet access! Scout set out on a mission to get revenge on the few people she thought were responsible for her accident. Scout got the disguise she felt would be best and crafted a plan that would lead her down some sketchy paths but also cause her to cross paths with others from her previous life, even though she hoped they wouldn’t recognize her. The moment Remington’s path crossed with Scout’s, and he laid eyes on her; despite believing she had been dead the past 5 years; he knew exactly who she was. The only hold-ups would be convincing Jameson he wasn’t losing his mind, figuring out why she didn’t recognize him and why she was working with their enemy! This book is full of twists and turns and kept me on my feet the entire time! Can Remington get Jameson to take a leap and believe him? Will Scout get her memory back? Will the city fall back into the correct hands? Will they ever be able to pick up where they left off before the accident that changed everything?
This book is only for those over 18 due to the very violent and adult nature of the contents within.
I've woken up with no memories of who I am, just a voice in my head which I believe is my sister's, I know she is out there and I am determined to find her, the only thing in my way is trying to appear normal, or at least normal enough to get out of here! I'm damaged goods and not just physically, emotionally and physiologically too, but now I have a name and a place to start and I will do everything I can to get the information I'm looking for.
Unfortunately, my plan isn't the best, I'll work my way through some minions until I find the person I'm after, no matter how much blood and guts I have to spill along the way, like I said, I'm broken, but that is helping me to get through this list of names. Things are going to plan and I'm nearing my goal, but one night after work, a mountain breaks into my house, throws me over his shoulder and kidnaps me, much to the apparent annoyance of the mortician who he cannot wait to show what he has done.
Unfortunately for me, the mountain and the mortician are just as much of a psycho as I am and I'm slowly realising that I'm going to have to have a much better plan to get past them, but I have to do that I can finally find my sister and live a quiet life with her. Will my plans come to fruition, or will they crumble around me like the rest of my memories have? This is an extremely dark romance where three like-minded individuals come together in a plot where blood is thick, but revenge is thicker and dangerous intentions could turn into passion as lines are blurred and actions taken in this dive towards madness.
Wow where to begin with this book. It is a very fast paced thriller of a story with a dark romance added in. This is a story that will grip you from the beginning and never let go. There are so many elements in this book, from danger, revenge, mental illness, violence and passion.
The main characters in this book are all messed up in their own way. We have Jameson, who seems calm and controlled underneath his taylored suit but underneath rages a beast who is hell bent on revenge. Then we have Remy, he's a beast of a man who doesn't shy away from violence and is a bit of a loose cannon, and finally Scout who is on tough lady who knows how to stand up and protect herself.
When Scout wakes up from an accident she has no idea who she is or where she is. All she has is a name, and the voice of her sister in her head. When she is released she sets out on a mission to find Philip Davis and her sister by any means necessary. When she meets with Jameson and Remy they tell her that they know who she is and that she is in danger. Will she be able to trust them? Who are these guys and what do they know about Scout and her sister? With Jameson's plan to take back the other 2 parts of the city they live in will they be able to control and protect Scout or will her need for revenge mean they can't handle her? And when the full story about what happened to Scout is revealed will it be enough to bring back her memories or will it destroy her? What will happen when 3 people with violent and psychopathic tendencies get together?
Gunmetal Psychos is an exciting and adrenaline-filled novel from the start. Before picking this read-up, please make sure you read your trigger warning!! The story starts with a girl in a car accident and then waking up in the hospital, not knowing who she is. Without giving too much info, she works her way back to remembering only bits and pieces of her life, but she does remember who tried to kill her and puts together a kill list. This “hunt” becomes her mission - kill the men who tried to kill me. She had “help” leading her into this new life she had created for herself, but she had to change her appearance to be safe. While putting her plan in place, she is working for the enemy to get close to them, not expecting to be recognized. However, she is recognized by important people in her past life, two men who were her whole world and vice versa. The men do not realize she doesn’t know who she is, are confused by her presence (since they thought she was dead), but are determined to get her back. In the end, they all have the same goal: kill the men who took their families and take back their city. If you enjoy dark, character-driven stories and emotionally charged narratives, this book is a good choice. Each character themselves had very distinct characteristics and behaviors that made for a great read. The dynamics between each character and when they are all together are sexy, psycho, loving, great banter, etc. I enjoyed having a badass, crazy female as a lead who could really handle herself amongst her enemies but also her lovers!
Five years prior, Scout wakes up with no memories other than her name and a list of names she wants to get revenge on. Although she isn’t 100 percent sure on why. All she knows is she has a sister and she will stop at nothing to find her. To get close to the men on her revenge list, she becomes a stripper. Everything seems to be to plan until she is kidnapped by two men that seem really familiar but she can’t quite place them.
Remington was just released from prison and is already stirring up trouble. He goes into enemy territory to check out the new stripper on their payroll. When he sees that it might be a woman from his past, someone who he once loved and lost, nothing was going to keep her from him.
Jameson is the thinker between himself and Remington leaving the clean up to him. Remington leaves quite the mess behind.
The story is told in multiple POVs but it is mostly in Scouts. Each character is sadistic in their own way making the story dark and intriguing every turn of the page. The author did an amazing job portraying 3 completely different characters who, even though are wicked in their own ways, you can still resonate and empathize with their reasonings. Once I started, I could not put the book down. I highly recommend this dark romance/thriller to anyone who is into that genre.
This is a three-person POV, and you can tell the difference between each person; even the writing style changes to show the difference.
This book is dark, thrilling, intense, and chock-full of revenge (yummy). As always, read the trigger warning, my fellow dark romance lovers. Your mental health matters. Just like the author, I have no triggers, so even the ones mentioned and not mentioned didn’t bother me. I am so used to reading dark romance that I didn’t even pick up on any.
After being in an accident that causes Scout to lose her memories and be in a mental hospital for years, she is finally free and ready to plan out her revenge on the ones who hurt her. While she may not remember why, she does know it has to be done. She has a list, and unlike Santa's list, hers are all naughty, and they are getting something far worse than coal.
Remmy and Jameson, who grieved the loss of their loved ones, including Scout, after a horrific attack, are set on a course to take back what is rightfully theirs. When they do find Scout, they can’t believe their eyes and do the one thing they do best. They kidnap her. They are the only ones who can piece together her missing memories as the three of them take back their city.
This is an unapologetically brutal, twisted tale that kicks off with one heck of a wake-up call which is just the beginning of the chaos. The pacing of this story is nothing short of spectacular, and I found myself racing through the pages eager to see what would happen next. I’m always a fan of books with multiple points of view, and this one delivered on that front in a way that truly captivated me. There are twists and turns that blindsided me in the best way possible, deepening my addiction to the story more than I ever anticipated.
This book is a departure from the author’s typical style, diving into darker, more intense themes than their usual romances. Despite the heaviness of the subject matter, it remains thoroughly captivating and enjoyable. Having read multiple books by this author before, it’s clear they’ve mastered the art of blending grit and emotional depth, and they pull it off brilliantly here.
For those looking for an intense, no-holds-barred thriller with psychological depth, this one is a suspenseful ride you won’t soon forget. I can’t wait to see what else this author has in store, as their ability to explore new depths of darkness while keeping readers hooked is truly impressive.
Absolutely wonderful 18+ dark romance book that will become your next addiction that you will not want to put down. I would consider this book to be not only dark romance but also a little bit of a revenge thriller with a side of mystery. This is not light and fluffy, so please read the trigger warnings before hand if you have any.
The story begins with one of the main characters waking up without any memories at all and she slowly is working her way to remembering bits and pieces of her life. The one thing she DOES remember is who tried to kill her, and that now is her main goal, to take out those men. There are tons of twists and turns in this book as expected considering the main character does not have her memories, and I loved every moment of it. The book is written from 3 POVs, the main female, Scout, and then 2 other main males, Jameson and Remy. Having all 3 points of view really gives the book more depth and you get to see what everyone is thinking.
The book is thick, but let me tell you, I am soooooo glad for it because the author Brooke gives you EVERYTHING you as a reader could want. I most definitely recommend this book to my dark romance people, you will NOT be disappointed.
Excellent first dark romance book for Brooke! I have to say I was pretty impressed with this book. When I found out that this was Brooke's first time writing dark romance, I was pretty shocked! For her first time writing in this genre I felt that she did a pretty good job! Dark romance can go either really good, or really bad. Brooke did an excellent job by keeping things balanced but well paced. Scout waking up in the hospital with absolutely no memories of who she is, except the voice of her sister and a name. This multiple POV's was beautifully done. I loved how unhinged our 2 MMC's were. Jameson and Remy are similar but vastly different. They are absolutely devastated when they think Scout is dead, but when she shows back with no idea who they are, they don't know what's worse knowing she's alive but doesn't remember them, or thinking that she died. I could not put this book down. I found myself saying "one more chapter. Just one more chapter." and next thing I know the sun is coming up and I've ended up reading all night again. I hope Brooke continues to write dark romance because I really thoroughly enjoyed reading this book!
This is by far one of my favorite books by Brooke May, and that's saying a lot because I love reading all of her books! One of the best dystopian romance books I've ever read, I hope we get to see more books like this in the future, amazing read! The characters were developed with such skill that you will be shocked by what you learn about them, and even then, don't assume anything about anyone. You are up for a wild ride when starting this book out. There are a lot of trigger warnings in this book, please read through them before starting, if you are unsure if this book is for you. The dark romance was something I was ready for just by reading the prologue of the story, it just gets more exciting right from there. I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a deep read that is full of shocking surprises and who is open-minded in what they read. I don't want to give any spoilers, but I adore Scout as a strong female character, she is a real hero in my eyes. Brandy Rymer 01/2025
I cannot recommend this book enough if you like them Dark, disturbing, and full of spice. You have a FMC that is named Scout, who has been in an accident and does not know who she is or anything of your life before waking up in a hospital. Only thing she somewhat remembers is a sister named Saylor who looks like her and a man named Phillip Davis. But not her last name, where she is from or anything else for that matter. She just knows that she must find this man in order to get answers that have clues to who she is and where her sister might be. She sets a plan in motion to get to Phillip. And as she does all hell breaks loose. She is confronted by a huge mountainous man named Remington Cage, that kidnaps her and takes her to another friend of his, named Jameson Andrews. These two keep her away from her carefully crafted plan to then drop a huge bomb in her lap about her past and her possible future. Can Scout believe these two or do they have an ulterior motive for themselves. Only time will tell. This book is dark in all the way that count, as well as steamy, twisted, and will leave you with a few more book boyfriends you will want to add to your collection.
Brooke May let her imagination run wild and I am so here for it! The plot for this wonderful dark romance is absolutely divine. I fell in love with this story after a few chapters, and I absolutely could not put it down. She is thick, but don’t let deter you, this is a must read for 2025! My one word of advice before reading this is check your triggers as she is deliciously dark. Everything starts with an accident that should never have happened. Scout has lost all memory of who she is or was. The only thing she can remember is Saylor, her sister, and the man that may be able to shed some light on things. Along the way she runs into the mountain, who kidnaps her, and the mortician who holds her hostage. Scout is the strong, capable, and psychotic FMC I have been searching for without ever knowing it. You will be on the edge of your seat as you read this book, full of twists, turns, and surprises. Oh, and you will not believe the twist that comes at the end! I will definitely be recommending this read to anyone with a dark streak!
This is one of many books that I have read by this author. I swear the writing keeps getting better with each book being put out. This book is a bit different from the others that I have read from this author as it is a bit darker than what I am used to. However, this book was amazing. I couldn't put it down. I fell in love with the plot and the characters. I found myself wanting more when I finished it. I am an emotional reader so when the characters are being upset or angsty, I find myself reacting that way to anyone who dares enter my presence. lol. I had that a lot in this book; plus, I was also annoyed that someone dare interrupt my while I was reading this book. There are twists and turns in this book that I didn't see coming and made me want to read it faster. I had to know. The twists actually make sense in this book unlike others that I have read. The twists actually bring you in more to plot and the characters. This was read in a day. Granted I didn't do anything else but read, it was well worth it.
This grabbed me from the very beginning. From the author using ‘serpentine’ to describe the flames. The description of the burning, the glass cutting the FMC’s skin, the terror the FMC is feeling…
“I need to get the hell out of here.”
This book is excellent. Dark…dark as hell. Make sure you read the trigger warnings, and head Brooke May’s warning that she doesn’t have any triggers-she did a very good job writing a very dark book that has a great story line.
This book has torture, murder, human trafficking, allusion to sexual abuse by a doctor, traumatic injuries from a car accident, loss of a twin… a little bit of everything.
Scout is on a mission. Will she find her sister? Will she get the revenge she is desperately striving toward? Will she fall into a trap laid for her? What actually happened during the car crash?
Jameson is also on a mission. How do the two missions fit together? Who, exactly, is Jameson? How does he fit into the mix with Scout? Was he their brother? Was he their lover? All these questions I asked myself during Chapter 2.
Let me just start by saying I loved everything about this book… it’s Ms. May’s best-yet! From the divine cover to the gripping storyline- this book had me hooked right from the moment I laid eyes on it. It’s definitely the darkest story that I have read by Ms. May, so far- but she proves here that she isn’t afraid of the dark- manipulating the shadows like a master. Gunmetal Psychos by Brooke May is an intense dark romance with a twisty plot that comes with plenty of trigger warnings! Be warned, this is not a ‘light and fluffy’ read. It is raw, gritty, tense, and action-packed. Add in a woman on a mission to save her sister, 2 love interests, memory loss, burning vengeance, violence, agendas, psychopathic tendencies, and plenty of twistiness- and things get a bit wild! I’m hooked on this darker side of Ms. May, and I can’t wait to dive into the dark with her again soon! Happy Reading!
Oooo that cover. Chefs kiss. Yes, I am a book cover girl and am a sucker for them especially when they are this beautiful. More so it might pull me in but lord that synopsis, Brooke May you have officially became my new favorite author of 2025. Nearly 500 pages and I devoured it in less than 48 hours I just couldn’t put it down and walk away from the psychos. If you’re looking for a beefy book that feels like a quick read this one is perfect. The mystery, the plot, the story, lord those characters, will keep you searching for answers and leave you satisfied at the end. This one is for you. Brooke May perfectly captures the world through broken eyes, which in a lot of ways is honest as everyone on this planet is a little broken. Broken yes not psychos lol. These three are certainly unhinged but they find their way into your soul with every page. Can’t wait to start another read by this incredible author, they are certainly a treat. Especially on these extremely cold mountain days.
This book is dark and disturbing and I couldn't put it down. Please, please check the trigger warnings and for god's sake be cautious because this book is not for the faint of heart. We have Scout who was in a horrific accident and can't remember her life before who has spent the past 5 years doing what she has to in order to avenge her sister. And then Jameson and Remington come along and could possibly screw everything all up. There are so many twists and turns in this book that I got whiplash. And the final twist had me going for quite awhile...I was genuinely upset with it...but I digress before I spoil anything! I've read May before and I love her stuff but this is different. It's much, much darker and she invests so much more in her characters and plot with this one. With that being said...this is a hefty book. It reads quickly but it's still almost 500 pages so you had better settle in for a long ride...pun definitely intended ;) Happy Reading!
I was originally drawn to Gunmetal Psychos by the cover art and the knowledge that I had read material from this author before and really enjoyed it. I was skeptical as this novel was set to be a lot darker than any of those novels and it is longer than books I’ve been reading as of late. First and foremost, read and consider the trigger warnings before delving into this one but it truly did not disappoint. While the first pages grabbed my attention immediately, it took a bit for me to truly be invested in the storyline and the main characters. Once I got the hang of it, I really did enjoy the book and the author’s writing style. I am always a fan of alternating perspectives and views and the added touch of internal thoughts really made the book. I couldn’t end this cryptic review without mentioning the spice which absolutely exceeded my expectations. Overall, I’m truly impressed by this novel. I look forward to reading more from this author in the near future!
This book is nothing like any of her other books. This one is definitely more scary and more terrifying to read. There is a lot of things that I can imagine happening but also things that I wouldn’t want to imagine happening to me or anyone else for that matter. There is a page of trigger warnings to if you are interested in reading this book, make sure you can handle it by reading the trigger warnings first. I honestly feel like this book is definitely more reality based than anything. Scout is a young woman who winds up in a accident and doesn’t remember anything from before the accident. She is sort of reunited with her men (Remington and Jamieson) unfortunately she doesn’t remember them. They all need each other to help destroy Phillip Davis. I am still currently reading this book, so I will update when I finish it. I do like the book, its just taking a lot more time to get into it.
This was a great 5 star read. Right from the start I was on the edge of my seat. Scout is seeking revenge and is looking for answers. We do bounce around a little bit in the beginning but it does get better a little further in. I think it is just setting the scene for everyone. The author does give a full warning prior to reading about several triggers, so beware before you start. This story was full of so much that you won’t want to put it down until you are done. All of the characters added a great element to the story. If you are looking for a dark twisted read this is the book for you. The author definitely hits it out of the park with this book. I love dark and this has quickly become one of my top reads. I look forward to reading more from this author. 1-click and get started today.
This story is by an author that I have enjoyed reading from the first bookI picked up from her. I never hesitate to pick up one of her books as I know that I am in for an awesome ride. I enjoyed her creative characters and how she can bring them to life on each page. This is a little darker story and something new for this author. The plot as well as the characters are creative and engaging. They have great growth throughout which made the story easy to read. This is an engaging story that is not only hard to put down but a must read. This is a story that has some triggers but if you can get past those you will find a great story and one you won’t regret picking up. I really enjoyed this must read story. I look forward to seeing what comes next for this author. I highly recommend this book.
This book is almost 500 pages, but I read through it very quickly. It did not feel like it was that long. I love light and fluffy, homey, cozy books. This is NOT one of those. If you only read those, this is not the book for you. If you like gripping, edge of your seat stories about badarse characters, this is the book for you. I believe reading is all about balance. A little light and fluffy with a little dark and sharp. You will find that this author can do both. This story is about revenge. It's dark and sinister and mysterious. There is some romance, but it's sprinkled in, like glitter in a dark forest. It really adds to the whole story. The characters, the details, the world building, are all fantastically done. I hope Brooke May keeps bringing out these darker books. She does them just as well as the others.
What an absolutely fantastic book this book – and one that is by an author who has become a firm favourite of mine. I love everything she has written but this book is easily the best one by a mile. I loved how dark and intense the story was. It felt like I was always on edge and never knew which way the story would go. The dynamic between the characters was so compelling. I couldn’t stop reading about them, even if I wanted to. The way the author has approached this book is fascinating. It is clearly her “style” and yet feels so different from most of the other books I have read by her. She is such a versatile author and I love the fact I never quite know what her next book will be. This is a brilliant book that I would highly recommend!
Gunmetal Psychos by Brooke May is a great 18+ book but it is also for dark romance readers. I really enjoyed reading this book and it took me less than a week to put it down because of how addicting it was. It also has a trigger warning. I hope that Brooke May writes more books like this because this was the first book I ever read from her. The book has a great storyline and keeps you guessing about the ending. I enjoyed the scouts' relationship with Remington and Jameson. It was a good romance story about who she would choose. The book also has a good mystery about the sisters. I recommend reading this book and I give this book a 10/10, It is a great read, and you will get through it pretty fast. So, grab some food and enjoy this new Psycho book from Brooke May. The main character Scout wakes up with amnesia. She only remembers her name. She knows that she has been in a terrible accident and a large part of her body has been burned. She only knows that she has to save her sister, Saylor. Five years later she finally gets released from the psych ward only knowing that she needs to get revenge. This is a dark romance filled with extreme violence, passion and revenge. There are three psychos in this story but I think together they may make one sane person. There are many things that may be triggers for some so beware. Personally I loved this book. It was a gripping and gory tale with twists and turns. I have always loved this author’s books.
AMAZING! This story starts with a girl named scout getting in an accident and waking up in a hospital with no memories. The story follows her trail for revenge for the little she slowly remembers and trying to find her lost twin sister and then goes into plot twists. I absolutely loved it and my favorite character in the story is Jameson! One of the best books I’ve ever read! So much so that this will be the first e-book I’ve ever read that I’ll also be buying the physical copy as well and I’ve been telling many people I know that read about it and how much I think they’d enjoy it too. If this genre is what you like to read, then I’d definitely recommend this one. Tells the story through several people's sides and I really enjoy this read!
