Hank’s twin brother Bo returns from Iraq during a difficult time for the whole family. Their sister, Karissa, recently found love after a messy divorce, but two new women in town may prove more than these brothers can handle. Love is in the air again in Juniper Ridge, but considering some of the secrets being kept under wraps, it also comes with complications.
. The second volume in this series features four main characters. Bo arrives home in Juniper Ridge, finally a civilian again, although his father passed away before he could get back. The focus is on Bo's complex character and his struggles with trying to run the farm, his PTSD, his mother's health, and his attraction to a new girl in town. Bo and Tosca try to fight their attraction to each other. Tosca is in witness protection after witnessing her ex-boyfriend commit a crime. She is doesn't feel ready to trust any man, but Bo is very persistent. Hank is recovering from a hard break-up and trying to learn to trust again. And Joquell is desperately trying to make a fresh start, without having to justify all her life choices to her parents.
Escape into the world of suspense and romance with this clean and wholesome western backdrop, unless a few kisses eliminate this from that category for you. There were lots of issues to overcome, twists and turns, and the family dynamics to iron out. It was a captivating and gratifying experience, including spurts of inspiration, hope, and romance.
Again, the book concludes with loose ends (cliff hangers) that doesn't usually give me a warm and fuzzy feeling. However, this actually seemed to flow evenly from the first volume to the second, so I guess I should make an exception with this series and hold judgment.
This is a great book for anyone who loves a good clean romance, with a touch of suspense. I was interested enough to continue this series. Highly recommended !!
FTC DISCLAIMER: I RECEIVED AN E-ARC FROM THE AUTHOR. I VOLUNTARILY OFFER MY HONEST REVIEW OF THE BOOK, THOUGH IT IS NOT EXPECTED OF ME! RECEIPT OF THIS BOOK IN THIS MANNER DOES NOT AFFECT MY OPINION OF THE BOOK OR THE CONTENT OF MY REVIEW!
This is the second book in a row that I've read recently that wound up following two different couples on their way to love, this one focusing on twin brothers finding their significant others.
Couple #1 is Bo and Tosca. Theirs is a more of a romantic suspense kind of story, so we get that kind suspenseful and dramatic read. Couple #2 is Hank and Joquell, and they're a kind of opposites attract story. These two different styles made for a very disharmonious read! The suspense plot was left on a cliffhanger, and Hank and Joquell have a happy for now ending. It felt like nothing was resolved!
Tosca was pretty stupid, in my opinion. She starts out naive and just devolves into utter stupidity. There are rules to being in Witness Protection for a reason, yet she just blatantly ignores them to try and hold on to her old life.
I also really hated Hank! He was such a jerk, becoming even more snooty than Joquell and her parents were, all because they were more well to do than he was. He also took events much harder than he needed to, as if he was having a temper tantrum every time something didn't go his way or how he thought they should have.
Joquell felt like a non entity to me, I was mostly ambivalent to her, but I did really like Bo! He was the most realistic of the characters, and the easiest to connect to. I thought he was a great hero for Tosca, and a view of what Hank could be like. I did like seeing how things were progressing with Karissa and Mason.
Looking toward the next book in the series, it seems to focus more on Bo and Tosca, so I do think I'll be reading it at some point. I do hope it will be better than this one!
This book follows four characters. Bo is home from serving in the army and has to adjust to being a civilian again. Hank is recovering from a hard break up and is learning to trust again. Tosca is in witness protection after witnessing a crime. And Joquell is trying to get a fresh start without having to justify all her life choices to her parents. This book proves to be full of suspense and romance. I really liked following the experiences of these four characters while still following familiar characters from the last book. I think Bo is probably the most complex character and I loved seeing him grow throughout the story. This is a great book for anyone who loves a good clean romance, with a touch of suspense.
Love this family. Hank lives in this town and wants a certain house. He goes out of town and Joquell guys it the first day it goes on the market. She just moved to town to take a job as a superior paramedic. He works several jobs and is also a volunteer firefighter. They meet up and the excitement starts. The ups and downs between them is fun. The house that she bought is right next to his brother in law and sister. His brother Bo comes back from the military and wants to take over the farm. He meets Tosca who is in witness protection. They ended up getting together after crazy times. They had their ups and downs as well. This family is so wonderful. Love this story about the two brothers.
A nice clean read. Like-able characters and a good story line. The whole Witness Protection story-line is very interesting and lends itself well to the story - how much of your secrets can you reveal? I would have given it 4 stars, but didn't like the ending at all. The events leading up to the end of the book suggested a whole different ending in my mind and also left me with a lot more questions as to the "how did he find them?" angle. I am seriously hoping that there is a follow up to this story that resolves the Bo and Margot/Tosca story-line and ties up all the loose ends there.
Identity is the second book in the Carver Ranch series. Identity is two stories in one about a set of twin brothers, Bo and Hank. Bo is home and is not going back to the Middle East. He is ready to take over the family ranch. Hank is frustrated because the house he'd been dreaming of buying suddenly gets sold to someone else. Bo and Hank each meet a woman that piques their interest. But of course nothing can be easy, there is a catch. Will either of the brothers be able to work past the issues that are presented? This story was very good, and I definitely recommend this book.
Another great book by Heather. This is about twin brothers though coming home from his final deployment and Hank an engineer and running the family ranch and the two new ladies in town I have gotten their attention. Tosca/Megan in witness protection and Joquell From a wealthy family and the new director of Juniper Ridge ambulance who steals the rundown home Hank wants in order to restore back to its former glory.
So much is happening that you just keep reading because you want to know what happens next between these two couples!
The moment she witnessed the murder changed Tosca’s Michaels life forever. Now she must start over. Will she ever be able to trust again? Bo Carver just wants a calm, peaceful life on the ranch. Trauma and terror link them together.
Hunky US Marshalls, deputies, and firemen fill the pages of this appealing book. I loved Tosca’s 8 date rule and her grit and spunk. Interesting characters and fast action had me speed reading to find out what happened at the end. Tullis creates endearing and engaging characters. I’m looking forward to the next book in this series.
This is my first time reading of author Heather Justesen book - Identity: Love in Juniper Ridge. Right from the first page to the last I was captivated by the story and its characters. Excellent writing which kept me engrossed page after page. Can't wait to read the next one. I fell in love with Bo and Tosca and Hank and Joquell, and how can I forget Marsh and Karissa. Each character played its role to the hilt in the story. Just loved it.
Bo returns from the service with PTSD and a sandfly infection. He meets Tosca and she challenges him. His twin brother, Hank helps him on the farm besides being an engineer. He meets Joquell on an ambulance run and helps her with the house that he has always wanted. Family and love, two good stories in one.
Loved this book. This is the book regarding twin brothers Hank and Bo. Truly a pleasure to read. Both couples have there complications but love how they work through them. I received this book as an arc review. This is my honest review.
This another great book in the Carver series. This story is about Karissa’s older twin brothers Hank and Bo. This story has suspense and romance. It also has the great family values the Carters are known for.
What a great book! I really enjoyed getting to see Hank and Bo both find the women of their dreams and hear their relationships progress. I can't wait to hear more about Bo and Tosca in the next book and going to start it immediately.
Tosca is in hiding, Bo comes home from war to find her working in the doctors office, he never gives up the chase. Love and all the feels are in their story. I'm really excited about this series
This story starts with a bang... literally! Margot sees a murder happen and has to enter the Witness Protection Program. She ends up in Juniper Ridge, Colorado with a new name and a new identity: Tosca. When Bo Carver returns from deployment, he finds himself in her clinic and he pursues her. He seems like the same kind of guy she is always attracted to, and it never seems to end well for her. But no matter how hard she pushes him away, she seems to be getting closer and closer to him.
Tosca is not the only new girl in town... Joquell is looking for a fresh start away from her disapproving parents. She is supposed to become a surgeon and follow in her father's footsteps and enjoy her elite social status. But instead she takes a job in Juniper Ridge running the ambulance department, and buys a house that needs a lot of fixing up. She doesn't realize that she bought Hank Carver's dream home before he even knew it was on the market! But that's not the only reason Hank doesn't like her right away... She reminds him too much of the rich, spoiled girl who broke his heart.
I was already hooked on Homecoming and Homecoming: Second Chances, but this volume in the series adds a thriller twist. While one character is trying to change her identity to better herself and escape her parents and former high society life, another is actually in witness protection, changing her identity fully in order to protect her own life before an impending trial. Wrap those two stories in with romances for Bo and Hank, twin brothers we know a little about already from the previous volume, and we get a well-rounded story that kept me on my toes. And the end...! Well, without spoiling it, the end promises more stories to come and has me excited to see what happens next for one couple in particular. You don't need to have read the previous stories, but there is payoff to having read it all. If you're a clean romance fan with a little bit of mystery and suspense thrown in, this is for you!
This story follows two love stories between four main characters—Margot (who becomes Tosca in witness protection after she sees her boyfriend kill someone), Joquell (who is trying to escape her disapproving parents who want her to become a surgeon and follow in their footsteps), and Bo and Hank Carver (brothers who each are attracted to one of the girls). The story is set in Juniper Ridge, Colorado and is a clean read. None of the characters really grabbed me, but the story was interesting enough to keep me reading to the end because I wanted to know how everything would turn out.
Really good novel. Fast paced, with romance and a bad guy. Really liked all the characters. Wished I had been able to read it all at once, but having a baby took precedence. :o) I assume there is another one because Margot's & Bo's story didn't wrap up...
Moral Note: Some mild violence, I think there were a couple of swear words (dang & heck) but I could be wrong, clean romance.
Love this author. First one I read in this series, but I'm determined to read the rest. A great story! Loved watching Bo work through things, and how determined Joquell was to do what she knew to be right.
I really enjoyed it. There were lots of twists and turns and the end for Toscana and Bo was unpredictable. Hank and Joquelle were the perfect complete opposites from the other two and that kept the story from being an routine romance novel. Justesen's a fun author.
A week or so ago I downloaded my first Heather Tillis series. Now there are only 4 books remaining. I love escaping into the worlds Heather creates. Keep writing Heather, and I will keep reading.
This story had a little bit of everything. It had lots of sweet romance despite two different couples trying not to fall in love. There was humor, mystery, suspense, sadness, but most of all the importance of family and love.
Good story. This is another great installment. Good to catch up with Karissa and Marsh. I loved the twin brothers and their romances. Both good chemistry and clean!
This book is following twin brothers Bo & Hank. The brothers are entering relationships with new girls in town. Hank is an engineer that had been helping his father keep the farm going until Bo was home from the service. He hasn't had time for a relationship since he was burned the last time. Now some newcomer to town has swooped in & bought his house out from under him. The house he's been waiting to come on the market for years. Joquell has just moved to town & is anxious to start her new job. Finding & falling in love with a house seems like a sign she's made the right money be. Then he comes into her life. The attraction is there but he's grumpy & overbearing. Joquell reminds Hank of his ex. She has money & no ties to the town. If he gets involved, will she leave him like his ex did? Can they make it work?
No is finally home but they lost his father before he could get there. Now Bo is struggling with the farm, his PTSD, his mother's health & his attraction to a new girl in town. Tosca is trying to fight her attraction to Bo. She's in witness protection & doesn't feel ready to trust a man. She instinctively knows she can trust him but doesn't want to get in too deep. Will they get involved anyway? What happens if her identity is compromised?
This is two stories in one. Both relationships seemed doomed from the beginning. All of them have to overcome trust issues along with other things. They've all been hurt in one way or another & have closed themselves off. The characters are well developed & the plot keeps you involved. The two relationships are so intertwined throughout the story that you can understand why the writer didn't separate them. Another great story by Ms. Tullis.
