Cassidy Chapman's sister Jessica dies in a car accident but because they had swapped places for the night, everyone thinks that Cassidy is dead. Cassidy soon suspects that her remaining triplet sister, Nora, knows who she really is and knows more about what happened to Jessica.
This sounded like a fantastic story line, and it was a fairly quick read and entertaining enough, but unfortunately there are some major holes in the story. The girls' parents were terminally stupid not to at least wonder if it was Cassidy who was alive. For a start, Cassidy was a black belt in karate whereas Jessica wasn't - surely that should have raised some doubts? Then she finds some incriminating photos but conveniently leaves them where the guilty party can dispose of them, making Cassidy look like a fantasist. Hmm. If you can overlook these things then it is a pretty decent thriller.
TW: mental illness, some violence but the cat makes it out unharmed (phew).

This is a really compelling, delightfully dark thriller. Every time you think you’ve got this story figured out, you’re wrong, and it gets you hooked. The pacing is perfect, and the way Perkins lets you in on the characters’ inner thoughts throughout is really well done. (It does come with a content warning for mental illness, so keep that in mind.) Highly recommend! 🖤
I love all the twists and turns this story has. The perfect family, with their perfect triplet girls. Until one night, then the nightmare begins... two of the girls switch places, one dies. No one believes who she really is, except for the person that caused the accident. Now it's a race to uncover the truth before one of the family secrets years them apart.
Triplets.... an accident...who was in the car? Cassidy or Jessica? The killer knows and of course the triplet who was not in the accident. Is Cassidy crazy? or maybe the next victim. With a family secret and a few twists and turns, makes this an excellent thriller!
I have to admit I was torn on my review for this book, as I was reading it, at times I thought 4 star and then changed my ind to 5 star. As you can see 5 won out. This is a twisted tale that took a lot of creative writing. Something the author did well. Readers meet Cassidy after one of her sisters has died. The problem is Cassidy is a triplet and the sister that died was really Jessica. Everyone thinks it was Cassidy that died and won't believe the truth Cassidy is trying to share. For me, that part of the story is harder to believe, but I think it could happen, twins and triplets have been impersonating each other for years. So, despite my qualms about that, I found this story intriguing, mysterious and a great ride as Cassidy finds secrets about the past, her family and the death of her sister.
An intriguing tale of three identical sisters, but one sister hides a dark secret. I enjoyed reading this book and how far the sister would go to get what she wanted. Worth a read
Overall, I enjoyed this book. It was well written and the idea of using triplets was unique. Where it fell short for me was the idea that the people closest to Cassidy couldn't tell who she really was. Surely parents of twins, triplets, etc have some way of telling their children apart. Also, I felt that the inclusion of Noreen and Jenifer served no real purpose. But agaib, overall it was a good story.
I absolutely LOVED this book! Below is the link to my Featured Review on my blog, which includes an interview with the author herself, Victoria Perkins! Reading Addict Reviews http://t.co/w2xDFN2iAV
Well, to start off, Perkins is an amazing person. This book emulates her talent and vision. It also shows her knack for the more macabre in life but in the end..well, there's always hope.
