This is a sweet and clean short Christian romance. This is the fourth novella in a series of 6 Christmas novellas. It can be read as a stand-alone. It is less than 100 pages.
Allison is heading home but a storm makes driving hard and she ends up in a ditch by a small inn. Luke has also stopped for the night due to the weather. According to the proprietress, there is only one room available due to construction on other rooms. It does have two queen beds. Allison has a sunny, giving attitude whereas Luke is cynical. Can Allison convince Luke to find his giving self?
The characters definitely have opposite attract vibes. Allison’s Christian values shows others how to act. She has the servant attitude to help others. A good clean short Christian romance. Easy read when you need a quick break.
I received an ARC from the author and am leaving an honest review.
Allison is on her way to Christmas Town, PA, where her family is relocating their business and their lives, when an unexpected change in the weather finds her in a ditch, turned the complete opposite direction than where she was trying to go. ,She had seen (she thinks) an old sign that said something, but all she caught was “INN”. So, she gets her purse and overnight bag and walks the short distance to the lodging place, determined not to drive any further until the roads are cleared. When she opens the door, it is a dismal sight. A poor elderly lady is trying to check a man in for 2 nights, which is what Allison wants, too. The lady is really struggling with the transaction, then explains that she doesn’t take anything but cash and that there’s an ATM outside of the building. Then she finally gets up the nerve to ask if one of them could give up having a hot shower, because there’s only one room completed on the remodeling job! Then, she lets them know that there are two beds in the room, so they could share. Luke, the man who had come in just before Allison said he would call his mother and let Allison speak to her. They did just that and Allison was assured that Luke was a safe man. Judy, the inn manager, then offers them a half price rate since they’ll have to share the room. Allíson says “No, I’m paying full price and the man says “So am I!” She invites them to eat supper with her and her husband, who is under hospice care. Moving along, they discuss everything about the inn during their meal, and they are shocked to learn that it was a spectacular inn back in the day! Judy gets a box of newspaper clippings out and Jim gets so excited looking through their memories. Luke asks what will become of the inn, since they had no children. Jim says that he guesses the state will take it. Luke decides, right at that very moment that he is changing careers. He’s going to offer them a substantial sum for the inn, but he wants Allison by his side, for the rest of his life! Then, Allison volunteers to decorate the downstairs area for Christmas. So, what can Luke do, but agree to help? Now, they had been talking the entire evening and learning about each other. Finally, they come to the very last box. All of a sudden, Judy is there with a glass of water in her hand, saying that Jim needed some water. Also, she remembers that there is one other room available, and puts the key on the counter. She says that that last box is the most special one of all. She claims that every single couple who have kissed under it gave gotten married, some having children, according to some letters from those people. She opens a big book with a printed page of all of the people who had gotten married and the dates, after kissing under the mistletoe! Then she goes back to their room. They find the hook in the ceiling, right in front of the tree, and hang the mistletoe. Okay, it’s your job to get this sweet book and find out what happens next! Oh, I am on the AR team, and this is my own review. 🙏💖🙏💙🤗🤗🫣🫣
Allison he’s trying to make it home, but there is a heavy blizzard where you can’t see in front of you. She sees a sign for an inn, decides that this is what she needs to do is stop and stay the night. But she made too quick of a stop slid in snow and ended up in the ditch. The airbag had not deployed. Her car was still running and there’s nothing she can do until the blizzard is over. She grabs her overnight bag purse and starts walking towards the end. She only sees one car there, but that doesn’t stop her. She walks into the end, but there’s only one room available. Luke got caught in the same blizzard that Allison had. Judi, the inn keeper has only one room available. They’re trying to remodel the inn. Due to lack of customers and her husband‘s health, they can’t make the repairs on the inn. Luke decides that it’s OK for them to share a room. It has two beds, which makes Allison happy. so two strangers in the night are going to have to spend the night in the same room. Both are hungry. Judi has crockpot with dinner in it. Along with Jim, her husband along with Luke and Allison, they enjoy their meal,Allison and Luke would like to know the history of the inn. It happens that Jim has a binder on everything that they have done and how he received the inn. Highly recommend this book is so good. It is a clean awesome Christian story.
The last great story in the series. Another sweet story about a H and h who meet at a roadside inn. They both become stranded due to a blizzard that developed unexpectedly. The H is a workaholic who is growing his business. He is not interested in Christmas. The h loves Christmas and is someone who helps others. Both are heading to the same town. The inn is under renovation and they have only one room available, but it has two queens size beds. The owner of the inn suggests that they share and they decide that they have no other choice. The inn has no Christmas decorations up except an empty tree. The h volunteers to decorate it and the H reluctantly volunteers to help her. The wife shows them the boxes containing all the decorations. As they decorate they talk and get to know each other. They take a break to eat with the wife and husband who has become an invalid. He shares how he acquired the inn and all that he did to make it a successful business. The H is so impressed he begins to think about changing his life. The H and h also realize that they have similar ideas and they begin to develop feelings for each other. The H decides that he really wants to change his life and takes actions to do so. The h really likes his plans and they decide that they have a future together for ever. Hope you enjoy this read as much as I did. Happy reading!
Alison and Luke’s story is sweet, endearing and inspiring. The magic of the Christmas season and some divine guidance brings Alison and Luke to a charming, but rather rundown inn on a very snowy night. While he is impatient, terse and a tad rude, Alison is the exact opposite. Her compassion, kindness and humanity reminds him to do better, be better and remember his Christian teachings. Even with only one room available they decide to stay at the inn. As they enjoy a hot meal with their elderly hosts, they learn more about the history of the inn and the love story of the innkeepers. While decorating the Christmas tree with the well-loved, antique ornaments, they can feel the connection between them expanding. Luke soon agrees with Alison’s assertion that “sometimes the detours in life that you’re not expecting are where life really happens.” As they finish decorating, Luke realizes that God has guided him to be at the inn on this night to meet the woman he has searching for all of his life and to show him a new path forward with Alison by his side. One storm, one night has changed the lives of two couples. One just starting on their journey together and the other nearing the end of their’s.
I highly recommend this extra special and inspiring book.
Snowed in at Christmas in another one of Jessie Gussman’s fun Christmas novellas. These adorable stories are perfect for a wintry evening’s entertainment. Make sure you have some hot chocolate too! In this story Allison’s car skids into a ditch outside a country inn near the town of Christmas Tree. Luke, a business exec from Philadelphia also finds himself at the same inn, needing a room since a snowstorm has closed down all the roads. There is only one room available so he and Allison are forced to share, an uncomfortable situation at best. Once they determine they are not serial killers they decide to make the best of a bad situation. The lady and her disabled husband who own the inn are grateful for the income. Allison and Luke soon discover that they can be of help to the couple by helping to decorate. It doesn’t take long to find out that maybe God had a hand in bringing all of them together. This is a sweet story and a lovely reminder of learning how to accept what God brings us.
I received an advance review copy of this novella for free and I am offering my honest opinion.
Another quick fun book in this series Christmas Tree, PA sweet romcom. This is a sweet story where a bad winter storm has two travelers finding lodging. Their unexpected stop may just bring them together.
So this book focuses on Allison who we have met before since she is the sister of Samuel and Daniel. She is traveling back to Christmas Tree to be with the family for Christmas but the weather is not cooperating. When she sees an Inn on the mountain road she decides to stop for the night as the heavy snow is making it difficult to drive. Then her car slides off the road into a ditch and she takes her stuff and makes her way to the Inn which doesn't seem to have many people staying there.
Luke was on his way to Christmas Tree from Philly to help someones business. The weather also had him stopping off for a night at the Inn. So Allison and Luke arrive about the same time and the Innkeeper tells them there is only one room ready to stay due to renovations. The room has two beds and these two will have to decide if they can share or one is without a room. The Inn keeper has a husband who is very ill and Allison and Luke will work together to help decorate the Inn.
These two very different people may just have been led to this off the trail Inn for a purpose.
I received a copy of this book from the author and this is my honest unbiased review.
Allison's Christmas plans are derailed when a snowstorm forces her to stop at a B&B on the way. But she has company, and though Luke initially doesn't seem the sort of person she'd choose to be snowed in with, she quickly comes to see that there's more to him than she realised. Luke is intrigued by Allison, who sees things in ways he's never thought of - but has to admit are far more Biblical. Is this unplanned stopover going to change more than just their Christmas plans?
I loved this story in theory - the changes that we see in Luke are inspiring, and I've always liked the idea of couples encouraging each other to see different sides of life and become better people. But I have to admit that it all happens rather too fast to feel realistic to me. Having said that, I enjoyed it enough that I was mostly willing to suspend disbelief and just treat it as a Christmas miracle. :-) A fun short read.
Note that I received a complimentary copy of the book from the author. I was not required to write a positive review and this is my considered opinion of the book.
A snowstorm on Allison's way home for Christmas leaves her stuck in the driveway snow bank of a little roadside inn. Fortunately, she and the car are OK with no harm done. Luke is also snowed in at the inn and, unfortunately, there's only 1 room available to book. As the two spend time together waiting out the storm, they get to know each other, flirt, converse, and help the elderly innkeeper couple experience joyful holiday memories. There's much philosophical self-introspection, some humor, and a taste of Christmas. How will Ali & Luke overcome this interruption in their plans? Can it be love at first sight--Can someone know after just a few hours that the person they're with is the they want to be with forever? Or did God orchestrate the circumstances for His purposes? My favorite line that sums up the story: ". . .detours in life that you're not expecting are where life really happens." I recommend this short sentimental novelette as well as the entire series. I received a complimentary ARC of this book and have voluntarily given my honest opinion in this review.
The is the fourth novella in the series set in Christmas Tree, PA, featuring couples meeting in awkward circumstances and finding true love as they spend time together. Luke is on his way to a consulting job when the snowy weather convinces him to stop at an inn. It's isolated and run down, but there's no other choice. He's lucky to get the only room that's fully renovated. But before he can finish checking in, Alison shows up, also needing a room. Will he be a gentleman and give up his room, or will they figure out a way to share? Alison volunteers to do the Christmas decorating and Luke agrees to help. As they learn about the history of the inn, and the troubles facing the owners, they both begin to dream about working together to save the inn. This is a sweet quick read with conversations about character and values along with humor and all the feelings of Christmas! I received an ARC of this book and it is my honest opinion that you will really enjoy it.
A really sweet little story set ‘in the middle of nowhere’. When Allison and Luke are both caught travelling in the middle of an unexpected snowstorm, ‘fate’ leads them to an isolated inn near Christmas Town. The elderly innkeeper, Miss Judy, initially appears reluctant to accommodate them, and obstacles to their lodging seem unending, but Allison’s unrelenting positive approach soon attracts both Miss Judy and aloof businessman, Luke, and the evening becomes divinely inspired. Ms Gussman is a deeply Christian-inspired author who favours the ‘instant love’ trope as all the recent books I have read have similar storylines. Book 1 (“Trapped under the Christmas Tree”) and this one are my favourites review copies thus far in this particular series.
Loved Luke and Allison's story. Allison was on her way home for Christmas when a snow storm caused her to be delayed. When her car slid into a ditch right at the driveway of and old inn, she decided to get off the road and stay the night. Luke had the same idea, but the owner of the inn only had one room available. I loved how even in the inconvenience of no room they both decided to be gracious and help each other out. The lovely old inn's owners had stories of many lives change because of the inn. Made me want to go there, wishing to find such a place. If you like clean stories with Godly principals, you can't go wrong with 'Snowed in at Christmas'. I highly recommend. I received this book from the publisher. The thoughts and comments are my own.
The 4th book in the Christmas Tree, PA sweet romcom short reads book is as different as each of the first three, but also follows the story lines of two opposites who meet and feel attraction to each other after being together and talking for a few hours. Allison and Luke are brought together by a snow storm that makes traveling dangerous. Stumbling onto a remote inn that was an unexpected chance to get out of the severe weather brings them separately to the safety that at first looks questionable. As usual, Jessie Gussman's books are interesting, captivating, and clean with a spiritual thread. I received this as an ARC and this is my honest opinion.
Clean Short Story This is the fourth of six novellas. It can be read alone. It is less than 100 pages. Allison is heading head but falls just short of arriving there due to a snowstorm. She ends up in a ditch next to a driveway of an inn. She walks to the inn to get a room/ Luke also gets stopped by the snowstorm at the inn. According to the property owner there is only one room with a working bathroom. It has two queen beds they can share the room if they like. Luke is all about self and not very friendly. Allison has a servant's heart and is about helping and giving. Will Luke give in and share the room?
An unexpected lake-effect snowstorm strands Luke at a rundown inn. As the innkeeper checks him in, a second traveler arrives looking for shelter. Lucy was also on her way to Christmas Tree, PA, but now her car sits in the ditch at the end of the driveway. Renovations mean there is only one available room, but it has two beds. In desperation, they agree to share the room. During their stay, the spirit of Christmas reawakens emotions and character.
This enjoyable holiday romance weaves lessons of love and generosity throughout the storyline. I received a free copy, but my review was honest and voluntary.
Allison and Luke both end up stopping at an inn when a snow storm prevents them from traveling to Christmas Tree, Pa. The inn is owned by an older couple who are having health and money problems. While snowed in Allison and Luke decide to help decorate the inn for Christmas. During this time they get to know each other and find they share a lot of the same values. This is a short story where two people end up in an unexpected situation but make the best of it and find new experiences and friends. Loved the way these two took a bad situation and turned it around. I voluntarily read an arc and this is my honest opinion.
Snowed In at Christmas ~ Christmas Tree PA #4 by Jessie Gussman
Another wonderful Christmas story from Jessie, to add to this fabulous series of short stories.
Two strangers caught in a snowstorm, Allison on her way to Christmas Tree to spend the holidays with her brothers. Luke is also on his way to Christmas Tree, though for a business meeting. Both are staying at an Inn, and the two share stories and help decorate the Inn's tree, will this bring these two strangers together? Snowed in at Christmas has been written well, and is easy to follow.
Reasons I enjoyed this book: Easy-to-read, Entertaining, Happily Ever After, Page-turner, Romantic, Realistic, and Wonderful characters
This clean little Christmas romance is a snowed-in forced proximity at a mostly deserted inn with a crafty matchmaker who has two absolute opposite strangers developing instant admirations of each other with some mistletoe “magic added in that leads to a happily ever after in a time span of least than two days. Oh, but there are so many good things to discover within this book. Jessie Gussman has expertly given Godly wisdom, told a romantic little tale, brighten my day and gave me some things to ponder in a less than two hour read. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Driving in a snow storm can make anyone a little edgy. But after these two strangers settled in, they came to realize that is was God that brought them to this Inn, at this time, when they needed to reevaluate their priorities. Sorta, stop-and-smell-the-roses, and enjoy your forever together.

Snowed In at Christmas is the 4th book in the Christmas Tree, PA Sweet Romcom series by Jessie Gussman. It is a very sweet story of two strangers, Allison and Luke, stuck at an old run down inn owned by an elderly couple unable to maintain it. If an unexpected icy snow storm hadn’t caused them both to seek shelter at the inn they would not have felt the Christmas magic that brought them together. Can one evening show them what they’re both missing in life? Have they found their happily ever after? This is a series of short Christmas stories that you should definitely read.
Two weary travelers are caught in a heavy, unexpected snow storm. Rather than taking a chance driving the 20 miles to Christmas Tree, PA they each decide to stay at a run down Inn.
This clean, Christian short story starts with two strangers and ends with a happy-ever-after. If you have an hour or two this short story will entertain you, because after all.... there's magic mistletoe.
I was given an ARC of this story from BookFunnel at the request of Jessie Gussman, the author. All thoughts and comments are mine, given voluntarily.
This is the fourth book in this short Christmas series and trust me you won’t be disappointed. Allison is heading back home to Christmas Tree, PA. It starts snowing and she decides to get a room at an Inn but runs into the ditch before she gets to it. Luke has also stopped there because he is meeting owners to try and help them make it profitable. They end up helping the older couple that are selling the Inn. Sparks soon fly for Allison and Luke.
I received this ARC from the author, I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Book 4 in the series: I love that each book builds upon the story line of the previous book(s). The magic of this story is two strangers accepting their current situation is “meant to be”. We often are faced with unusual or uncomfortable situations and simply walk away but Allison and Luke find joy and peace in meeting someone totally unexpected and finding they are meant for one another. A very sweet endearing love story.
Another sweet Romcom in the Christmas Tree, PA series. Allison is heading home to Christmas Tree, PA when a blizzard forces her into a ditch outside a rural B&B. Luke also happens to stop due to the storm. The only hitch is that the B&B owner informs them there is only one room with two queen beds. These two are total opposites--but opposites attract!
I received an ARC copy of this book, but the rating and thoughts are my own.
I had an ARC for this book, but this is my voluntary and honest opinion. Luke Jolley, a consultant is snowed in on his way to Christmas Tree, and so is Allison. They both end up at a Lodge and agree to share the only room available. When they see the owners need help decorating for Christmas, they volunteer and Christmas magic happens. A touching Christmas story featuring opposites that attract and find commonalities.
Snowed In At Christmas tells the story of the Barrage brother's little sister Allison's story of how she finds her forever one by chance when she is on her way to Christmas Tree, PA to be with her family. But as fate would have It she runs off the road at what was an old inn. There is a car out front and when she gets inside she finds Luke there trying to get a room as the snow is too heavy coming down and the road ahead is to curvy to try. As the older woman tells Luke she only has one room and since there were two people there wanting a room, the woman behind the desk tells them she has one room with two beds and they could share the room. Well this was a predicament.
A fun, short, sweet Christmas story. Allison is delayed getting to Christmas Town, PA by a big snowstorm. She stops at an Inn and meets Luke while checking in. This is a fun story; it made me smile and laugh when they were told there is only one shower or make that one room. I loved how Allison’s goodness radiated in how she acted and encouraged Luke to look at himself. I loved their kindness to the older couple. Such a sweet quick read to bring the Christmas spirit.
Snowed in at Christmas is a truly delicious, bite sized, fun adventure. Two strangers caught in a lake effect snowstorm stop at the same out of the way inn only to discover that there is only one room available. As they make the best of an unusual situation, spend some time together and meet the innkeepers, and decorate the Christmas tree, romance blooms. Allison and Luke are interesting, believable characters. Although this book is very short, this still seems like a complete story.
Who knew that an unexpected snow storm could change life as you knew it. Both Allison & Luke were travelling independently when they were forced to stop their journeys at an old inn just off the highway to Christmas Tree in Pennsylvania. There they meet Miss Judy and her husband Jim who have run the inn for years and fall for the old inn that needs love and attention to return it to its former successful glory days.
