A fluid and consistent collection, reflecting shards of elation and deeper contentedness. The smooth flow of the poems and poets is testament to the curator.

This is a pleasant collection of poems that celebrates joy in all its different guises.

Whenever I read poetry collections, I like to leave little markers against the ones that particularly stand out to me. This time, my favorites were:
• Poem in which a small dog looks into the sun
• The laugh
• Roots
• A summer Morning
• Corporation Road II
• First fig

Many of these were by poets who are completely new to me, which is always fun.

I don't read a lot of poetry, so this was a nice change of pace. I like the idea of poetry as a tonic that brings joy. The last poem, First Fig, was my favorite.
