Confidence is Overrated: Why Courage is the Antidote & Feelings Make Cowards of Us All

Rate this book
Can you help me be more confident? As a performance coach who has worked with professional athletes and elite performers in all fields, this is a question I get asked often. I understand why it is so important. When I was younger I lacked confidence, and I saw it as the main factor that hindered my performance. So when someone asks me about improving confidence, I get it. But the real issue when it comes to performance is not confidence or a lack of it, but rather the fact we put so much importance on it to begin with. Instead, what if we nourished a mindset of courage? What if we focused on the behaviors and actions that drive performance, instead of getting distracted with our feelings?

I have worked with national team players in World Cup locker rooms, executives in Fortune 100 boardrooms, and young players struggling to get over their fears. Regardless of the level, it all comes back to the same starting point...courage.

This is a collection of my 20 years of team and one-on-one coaching, and what I have learned in helping people reach their potential. And, this is the book I needed when I was a child. I hope it helps each of us get over our fears by finding courage, regardless of our confidence.
