In Las Vegas for her brother’s wedding, Sloane is having second and third and fourth thoughts about her fiancé, and being in close proximity to her brother’s hot bestie who became hers when her brother went away to pursue a hockey career is further muddying the waters.
Pro hockey player Callum has always had more than brotherly thoughts toward Sloane, and he’s convinced her fiancé isn’t worthy of her, particularly in the way he’s condescending and mean to her.
After a lot of partying in Vegas, Sloane and Callum find out what happens there doesn’t necessarily stay there.
There are some side plots involving Sloane’s brother’s terrible bride to be as well as some secrets Sloane is hiding from almost everyone.
With a disapproving brother and a bitter fiancé, Sloane has to make some major choices.
This was a cute and moderately spicy friends to lovers/brother’s bestie romance.
I was generously furnished an advance reader copy from the author and bookfunnel, and I’m sharing my honest impressions.
Sloane has always had a crush on her brother Luca’s best friend, but never wanted to upset her overprotective brother by showing her interest in Callum. She is attending her brother’s wedding in Vegas but never expected to find herself actually married to the best man, Callum Hendricks! And after their tipsy night and mutual attraction that led to this situation, neither one of them even remembered what they had done! But an even bigger surprise awaits when Sloane notices the special way her new husband Callum is looking at her. Had it really been a mistake when he married her? And will they stay that way or try to end the marriage… if it’s not too late? (But best of all, her not having to marry her awful, condescending fiance Drew most definitely provides us with a happy ending we can all celebrate!) This story line is fun and the characters (most of them) are likable. So grab your copy and enjoy their happiness!
Honestly, the story was very juvenile. These are adult characters and should be able to make adult decisions. Instead, you have two siblings raised in a good home with loving parents, and they are dating the wrong people.
As a non-drinker, it's difficult for me to believe that two people can have so much obvious care for one another and still find themselves unable to admit their feelings. It's just too bad Callum and Sloane had to consider Luca, Sloane's brother into their relationship. I can't even begin to imagine such a twisted and convoluted coupling!
Sloane McKenzie had just finally been allowed to get off the plane after a two-hour wait on the tarmac. Of course, Drew her new live-in boyfriend, who she had been dating for a while couldn't seem to get away from work. Since May seemed to be his busy month. However, he made sure to keep tabs on her. Telling her the airlines should give her a voucher for the delay. That would not be happening, as far as Sloane was concerned.
Once she was off the phone with him she went to find Luca, her older brother the reason for being in Vegas in the first place. It happens to be his wedding week with an agenda from hell. Only because Sloane is not too fond of her future sister-in-law Amanda (Mandy.) Who wants her to be the Maid of Honor?
You see, she is not at all the type of woman Sloane ever saw her brother with. When it came time for Luca to find a wife and settle down to marry. She is an influencer on social media, after all. She has no real friends, she never talks to anyone but Luca, and has no meaningful conversations. The two never seem to be in the same place, at the same time, or even go to the same places together. For Sloane, it was nice yet odd to be around.
Callum Hendricks has been friends with Slobane and Luca since they were kids, and Cal didn't even know how to skate. From that day on, Luca had taken Cal under his wing. He taught him all he needed to know to become the dedicated pro hockey player he is today. No one ever thought they would be able to play on the same pro team someday. Now the day has come, and they are on the same expansion league team.
Here’s the thing, Cal and Sloane both harbor a secret so tight they have never told it to anyone, not even to each other. Luca got so involved with his life after he left home, that he never thought about what life was like for Sloane and Cal once he went off to play for the NHL. Sloane and Cal became tight. She became his running buddy, extra practice buddy, and hangout buddy, too.
Sloane was as good in hockey as her brother and Cal. But, had to decide after college to either do what she loved more than breathing which was hockey, but get paid next to nothing compared to the guys. Or use her degree to best use her words, where she could generate the words to make a difference in the sport she loved.
However, it’s when Cal and Sloane are brought back, together over and over again. During the wedding week, their friendship springs back. It had taken a sideline because Drew her boyfriend, disliked Callum a lot, and there was no love loss in the other direction for Drew from Cal. The bachelor and bachelorette parties go off without a hitch. When Sloane tries to make small talk with Mandy, she snubs her, putting Sloane in a bad mood.
After, commiserating with Cal about his impression of Mandy, they feel the same. However, after a bit, Cal says no more bagging on Maddy because she is Luca’s choice. Sloane wasn’t ready to let her anger go. So she and Cal went bar hopping with some more dancing, and their life changed forever. This is a fun and sassy book. One of love, friendship, family, and a love of a sport.
Sloane Hayley McKenzie, a cutie with blonde hair and big brown eyes, is passionate about ice hockey—it’s in her blood. Both mom and dad played, and mom had even risen to the position of GM for a woman’s team. And, as children from an upper middle-class family who were comfortable, but not wealthy, the children were able to follow their parents’ passion for hockey, each playing the sport.
And Sloane, a loyal and loving younger sister, enjoyed watching older brother, Luca, play throughout his youth on local teams, then through high school and college, cheering from the seats. And now, Luca and his best friend Callum Gabriel Hendricks, a year younger—Sloane’s age—play professionally for the Milwaukie Frost—an arrangement which had been finessed by Luca who saw potential in his younger best friend and wanted to replicate the dynamic the friends had had on the ice in high school and college.
But while Sloane is proud of Luca and Callum’s achievements, she is also disappointed. While Sloane is a skilled ice hockey player who competed on female teams in her youth, she knew that she could have played at the same level on a male team if she were male. And, she knew that her knowledge of the sport and her athletic skills would have distinguished her on the ice, regardless of her gender. But it was her gender, not her skills, that prevented her from playing in the National Hockey league. She knew that her insight and understanding of the sport far exceeded the savvy of the average male hockey player.
And so, controlled by the rules of gender sports, she is denied her moment on the ice to prove either her ability or lack of ability. But what can’t be denied is her skillful analysis of the game, the players’ skill and their performance on the ice. And so, she has become an anonymous analyst of the sport—the male side—she loves, but in which she can never play. And as an anonymous analyst and content creator for the sport on her ice hockey media platform—Slap Shot.

Sloane is going to her brother, Luca, wedding in Vegas. She has been dating Drew for two years and they are just moving into an apartment together when she returns from the wedding. Luca and his best man, Callum, are both NHL hockey players on the Milwaukee Frost team. Callum has known Luca and Sloane for years with Luca leaving for college 2 years before Sloane and Callum left for college. Sloane and Callum were best friends after Luca left. Sloane had earned a hockey scholarship at college and awards during college playing women's hockey. But she knew that women pro-sports didn't get the money or recognition that men pro-sports did; so she started an online hockey media publication dealing with everything hockey while withholding her identity. Sloane and Callum go for drinks after the bachelor and bachelorette parties until they are drunk. When Sloane wakes the next morning in bed with Callum, she believes that she gave Callum her v-card. How to tell Drew that she cheated on him with Callum? Then when she and Drew go for their marriage license, no license for Sloane since she is already married! To Callum! Brief memories of Vegas. Time to go see Callum in Milwaukee and avoid telling Luca. Luca would kill him for messing with his sister! Follow the ins and outs of keeping secrets: marriage, online hockey media with its' opinions, what happens behind closed doors, and feelings! Plus throw in Drew?
Keeps you hopping!.

I really enjoyed the story 'Marrying My Best Friend' by Leighton Grace. It is the exciting romance between two people who have always been in each other's lives but never realized it was more than friendship until recently. Callum had always been a part of Soane and Luca's lives. He was Luca's very best friend and Luca's siter Sloane had always been included in that friendship. When Cal's parents were too busy with their professional careers, Cal had become an accepted part of Luca and Sloane's family. As they all get together in Las Vegas for Luca's wedding, Cal and Sloane are reunited again and fall into easy comradery just like it used to be. During their free time from the wedding festivities, they go off and drink and party together. In fact, they drank so much that they don't remember getting married until Sloane finds out that she is already married to Cal when she is applying for a marriage license to marry another man six months later. She returns to Cal to rectify the situation and they both start to suspect that they are so happy together that they almost wish they could try marriage to each other, but they know that Sloane's brother would never accept it. It is such a good story.
Romance and hockey are always a great book combo. Drunk-marrying your best friend, forgetting you married your best friend, and remembering when you try to marry your boyfriend! The boyfriend is a total asshat by the way. Now mix in tricky team and "family" dynamics and a secret you've kept for almost a decade and you've got some good angst to contend with. Sloane is a strong, independent female stuck between a rock and hard place when navigating feelings for her best friend and not destroying both of their relationships with her brother. Callum wants Sloane to be happy, but that might require him sacrificing his own happiness. He is loyal and dependable to everyone he loves, but those qualities are conflicting when he reunites with Sloane for her brother's wedding. I had a tough time being ready for this story to end. There is still so much more I wanted to learn, not just regarding the two main characters, but the supporting ones as well. Mandy is such a mystery that leaves more questions than answers as the book goes on.

Callum and Sloane's love story was very good. The fact the Sloan (girl), and her brother Luca share the same best friend. When Luca goes off to college, Callum and his sister Sloane get very close. The go to prom, to dances, to hockey games and more. So when Luca get married in Vegas, Callum and Sloane are best man and maid of honor and must celibate together. But when the party’s over, the two go their ways. A few months go by when Sloane goes to get a marriage license with for new fiancé, only to find out that Sloane is married to Callum and dint even know it. Her fiancé kicks her out, she goes home to Milwaukee to see Callum and get a divorce. Callum is shocked to find out they were married then slowly remembers he has always loved her, but even more when he finds out that she was a virgin and the Drew prick was not meant to have her. He was going to keep her but just didn’t know how he was going to break the news to her and to her brother. Will they figure out how to be together or will her brother break them up for good.
Marrying My Brother's Best Friend is a best friends to lovers sports romance. After her brother leaves for college, Sloane and Callum easily fall into best friend mode. After years apart, Callum has joined her brother on a newly formed Milwaukee Frost NHL team while Sloane has gotten her degree in Journalism and is in a committed relationship. They meet up in Vegas for her brother's wedding and end up having a pretty wild night.
This book was a 3.5/5 stars for me. I loved the character of Sloane and seeing her grow and realize her worth. Callum is such a sweet guy and my heart went out to him as he came to realize his feelings for Sloane but at the same time worried about his relationship with Sloane's brother. I wish there was more about Mandy, Sloane's brothers new wife. It seemed like there was something going on but nothing really got resolved. This was a cute, quick read and I'm hoping for more stories about the other players on the Frost team.
OMG 😱 this was another great book. It was a steamy page turner and the suspense was incredible intense. I was on the edge of my seat and I couldn’t even put it down. Sloane and Callum this romance forbidden. She was about to be getting married herself but things were not working out in her relationship. But they couldn’t fight the temptation any longer but the chemistry and the physical attraction between them were spicy and hotness will her brother understand that she is falling for his best friend. Was it love at first sight. I definitely recommend this book and you won’t be disappointed. I received advance copy of this book via Bookfunnel and am voluntarily leaving my honest opinion. I finished this book wanting to know what is going on with h's brother and his wife Mandy? WHAT IS THE DEAL WITH MANDY? I hope we get a Luca and Mandy book soon.
h has a live-in boyfriend, Drew. BUT she's a virgin. h, her brother, and H have been BFFs since childhood. h has always had feelings for H. They end up at her brother's wedding, they get drunk, then get married. They were both so drunk they don't remember. It's not until she goes to get her marriage license with her live-in boyfriend that they find out. h then has to fly to H and get it all worked out. They start to admit their feelings for each other.
Her brother flips his shite when he finds out. Like....it was so over the top. I always cringe when brothers act like that.
She is his best friends sister and his best friend. Things heat up when they are brought together as best man and maid of honor for her brother. A relationship is off limits for so many reasons. Things take an amusing turn when she back in California Sloane and her fiance apply for their marriage license. Surprise... She is already married. Will she go through with the divorce and marry Drew? Or will circumstances lead her and Callum together for real. Oh and then there is the issue of the potentially catastrophic secret she is keeping from everyone. What will happen if they ever discover the truth? This was so incredibly good. I laughed and cried multiple times throughout this book. Absolutely loved it.
Amazing hot, spicy and deep hockey romance from Leighton Grace. And, yes, I love hockey romances of this Author. It was my 4th and those are always beyond expectations. This one wasn't any exception. It takes all your attention and you just read while it's finished. It's easy, funny and humorous, bet deep, has its drama and twists. Just brilliant! Loved characters Sloane and Callum, their friendship and love. Loved story-line with turns and twists. And adorable writing style of the Author. One of the best hockey romances I have read.

Sloane and Callum were inseparable in high school, especially after her brother Luca left for college. They were each other's prom dates their senior year and both secretly harbored feelings for the other. Sloane left and moved to California giving up hope of her own hockey dream and instead went a different route through journalism. Callum and Luca went on to play hockey professionally and were even on the same team. Two nights before Luca's wedding, Sloane and Callum got drunk and their relationship was forever changed. Both were keeping secrets from each other and from Luca. When secrets are revealed can they overcome them?
Sloane is in Vegas for her brother's wedding. Things get complicated after a lot of drinks when she marries Callum her brother's best friend. Neither can believe what they did and try to figure things out before her brother finds out. However, things get explosive as their news is found out. Will Callum and Sloane admit they want to be with each other? Or will outsiders come between them?
This is a great story that will captivate you from beginning to end. This is a well written and very entertaining story. Its a book that any book lover would enjoy.
This heart racing and heart pounding romance book is so HOT that it might just melt the snowflakes if you have snow where you live. The characters Sloane and Callum have some unexpected surprises that what happens in Vegas should stay in Vegas, however when they end up married things start to take a whole new course of action for everyone involved. STOP everything right now and grab this book by Leighton because you are going to want to be reading this intense and HOT book right this very minute.
I really enjoyed the story. Callum and Sloane have always been in each other's lives and became best friends not realizing it was more than that since high school when they see each other for Luca's wedding in Vegas one thing let to another and they end up married. What will they do? Will they confess and admit their feelings or move foward like nothing happen. Guess you'll have to read the book to find out.

If your favorite tropes are hockey romance, best friend’s little sister, forbidden love and marriage of convenience then this book is for you!
Sloane and Callum became best friends when Sloane’s older brother Luca, Callum’s best friend, left for college. Years later, they get together in Las Vegas for Luca’s wedding. Reading how these two became so close during their last years of high school in flashbacks while they were trying to keep their friendship intact as today’s twist and turns happened was perfect.
Book was great from page one. Callum and Sloan were friends it seems forever. While attending the wedding of her brother Luca they had a a bit too much to drink and of course being in Vegas thought it was a good idea to get married.
Sloan was engaged to someone else, and when they went to get married they found out that Sloan was already married to Callum. That is when all the fun begins.
So many ups and downs but they all came together and made for the HEA they both wanted.
SO many secrets in this book, and they make for interesting scenes when they are revealed. I loved Sloane and Callum's friendship. As well as Luca and Sloane's relationship (queue the secret handshake). lol...
Loved the intensity and the intrigue, and loved the HEA and the bonus epilogue available as well. :)
A really fun, intense and passionate read.

M/F, Brothers Best Friend, Friends to Lovers, Hockey, First Time, Contemporary, Sports, Romance. First book in the series and although each book is a stand-alone Romance , the characters appear in each other's stories. Full of tension, steam, wit and humour, lots of secrets, this is a fast paced plot, pageturner of a story with an eventual hea.
Just finished Marrying My Brother’s Best Friend. The book summary is an accurate description of the book. The author included lots of technical hockey info (stats, analysis, etc.) which, being a hickey fan I loved. Character wise, I liked Callum, the MMC. The FMC was OK but aspects of her were too over the top for me. I won’t add spoilers here but there were a few elements of her character that were unrealistic and impossible to believe.
Sloane has always had a thing for Callum her brother’s best friend and teammate. Never acting on it because her brother would not be happy. But fate has her way. Vegas all it takes is one night.
One drunken night and waking up married. Neither can remember another problem is one hot night in Vegas doesn't stay in Vegas.
Absolutely loved Sloane & Callum's love story! I loved the dynamic between all the characters! I love the brother-like relationship between Luca & Callum as well as the brother-sister relationship between Luca & Sloane. I love the hockey interaction throughout too. I also love Astrid ❤️ An amazing story!!
I love Leighton's books, well written and easy to read. Lots of emotions in this one with Sloane and her brother Luca's best friend, Callum. There's hockey, lust and love, laughter and tears in this friends to lovers romance with plenty of heart. Loved it.

I cried WAY too much in this book. I love the love story. I hate the struggle, the betrayal, the hurt. I especially despised Drew. What a pos. He deserved to be smacked around, but it never happened.
Sloane and Callum should have kissed after prom. Ugh. Luca thinking he can own either of them is sad. We all need therapy.
What happened in Vegas stays in Vegas ???!!! Unless you wait to long and forget to get it annulled , Then you got a problem . Now you got to get that taken care of before your family finds out you married your brothers best friend .Worst of all he's your best friend too , and you have loved him since you were in high school .....
