Spring in northern Lower Michigan means morel hunting for the Winchester family … even when Bay Winchester doesn’t want to participate. What Aunt Tillie says goes, though, so the whole family heads out for a day of sun and collecting. What they find is a bit more concerning than mushrooms. A ghostly figure draws Bay’s attention to a young girl running through the woods. When she follows, she finds multiple graves. Multiple small graves. Finding children abandoned in the woods is terrible. What’s worse—how can it be worse?—is that nobody has reported these children missing. They have no identities. No parents are looking for them. Who are they? Where did they come from? Bay thinks she’s ready for the truth. She’s wrong, because the truth is worse than anything she could have imagined. Just because someone looks sweet and innocent, that doesn’t mean they are. Bay’s new foe doesn’t look like a monster. That only makes the situation that much more dangerous. Bay is determined to get to the bottom of this mystery. To do that, she’ll have to survive. Nothing—not this time—is a given. Buckle up, because it’s going to be a crazy Winchester ride.
When I was a kid, I was torn between whether or not I was going to grow up and be the Incredible Hulk or Wonder Woman. I flirted with being a Jedi Knight for awhile, but I wasn't up for the intense travel associated with the gig. In my teens, I settled on being a writer -- although I had no idea the effort that would entail. Not only am I a writer now, but I'm a writer in several different mediums. I'm a longtime newspaper reporter, an avid reader and a voracious science fiction fanatic.
Love this series! Another adventure with all my favorite characters. Waited, it felt like forever, for this book to come out.
Tilly will always be a favorite 😍 and add Evan .. the calm and the storm. Bay brings in her team to deal with the new danger and it's an entertaining read.
This installment had a really great story, and 27 books later these characters still show growth and development. Bay is really coming into her powers, and I look forward to what happens next. I enjoyed the cameos from other Amanda M Lee books! These cozies have offered me the perfect escape from some truly terrible times in my life.
Bay takes on a new foe. Her family has some epiphany moments and she still has to deal with the FBI. Enjoyable stories. The characters are vibrant and flawed, but they are growing.
Well, I wasn’t too surprised atThistles big secret. I had thought there was no place left forBay grow but I was wrong. She’s going to have to stop dealing with the demons though because Scout will always be there to pull her out of the fire.
Back with the Winchesters and a few crossover characters from other series. The focus as usual is on Bay. Some history with demons and how Bay was targeted as a child. Scout/Gunner are involved as is Evan a little. Landon plays a far second in the storyline and seems whiny and quite diminished. Even Aunt Tilly has a pretty small part in this one. Thistle has a huge secret or two that will impact the whole family. A quick easy read with a strange timeline. A comment is made that Stormy ("Two Broomsticks..." series) has only known about being a witch for a year. There are 12 books in that series. So maybe these books are one a "month" for the series line? Just trying to keep track of character growth and changes since they are all overlapping and related now.
Fun read, really advanced the overall story line. Bay coming into her own to being on a comparable level to her powerful friends. Whistle and Clive finding their niches. There are 2 obvious plotlines I'm looking forward to in the not too far future. 1 is Aunt Tillie will have to accept Bay as the new Winchester power house. I see her knowing her time is limited sacrificing herself for the family and transferring some if her magic to Bay. 2 is Landon will try to do something or make some kind if deal to get shifter October strength so he is not so much a liability.
Love, love, love this series from the first book until this last one!! The characters are so funny and realistic(given the circumstances of their universe, magic and all). I really like the family and friends and the many situations they find themselves in at every turn. The realistic relationships are also a plus as well....Landon and Bay's relationship has matured as they continue their married life, but still very much in love. I highly recommend this series and this Author! I thoroughly enjoy every one of her books and my TBR is bumped aside every time there is another in her many series.
Cozy paranormal mystery/romance I enjoy this series, easy to read, and I like the crossover with some of this authors other series. This isn't the sort of book to win an award, it's not brilliant writing, but it's good distraction. Like an old tv show that isn't great but you watch anyways for something to do. I also dislike some things about this series, this author tends to have multiple annoying side characters. It feels like they are supposed to be annoying, but they do too good a job of being annoying and instead of just irritating the characters in the book they also annoy the reader. My other issue with these books is that they need a new editor. or maybe just an editor?
I have really enjoyed every book of this series. I always wondered in what direction the Winchesters would eventually be headed, and now we have been given a huge glimpse of where things may lead. I was surprised with several events that took place in this book, and I was not expecting those surprises, but I am very excited to see that character’s storyline take the journey they are on. Also, I feel as if there has been immense growth where Bay, Landon, Thistle, Marcus, and even Clove are concerned. I can’t wait for the next book in this series!
I wasn't able to put this book down from the start. I love all of the characters in this series, especially Aunt Tilly. Just when you think Bay has come into her own BAM! Another add on. These stories are truly family orientated with the addition of each person's individual magic . It makes the characters seem so real to life. I just wish they where longer stories.
Another fun Winchester Witches episode. I liked that Landon was a bit more reasonable in this book and a bit less misogynistic. There were other characters from some of this author’s other series, but it was pretty easy to keep track of them all. I do wish that there had been more Aunt Tilly in this book. Still, this was an enjoyable read, and I’m looking forward to the next one.
The best paranormal writer I have ever seen. Everything is enjoyable And I can't wait For the next book to come out. Whether it is Spells Angels, Wicked witches of the midwest , Poet Parker or any of her others I just love her writing. I would recommend it to anyone looking for snark along with mystery and intrigue
Loved this book! Love the entire series. The characters are fun with very distinctive personalities and paranormal skill sets. I love when characters from other series pop in. This series is hysterical. Read from the beginning of the series so you meet the characters and see how they develop. Excellent read.
Bay is an amazing witch. Scout and Stormy are great allies. The story is always something new. NEVER BORING!! The Winchesters always kick butt. Wonderful series. I hope it never ends. I want to read Bay and gang forever. Amanda M Lee is a spectacular writer and storyteller. Never disappoints!!
Book 27 has surprises from some of the Winchesters, along with murder mayhem, danger, mystery, love, paranormal, and humans. Demons abound and no one knows what the plan is. Highly entertaining.
This is the book for you if you like mixing up the characters from all my favorite books. I love that Amanda is creating a crossover between her books !! We already know the characters backstory and it’s a nice melding of them. I’m excited for the next book!
I love Amanda M. Lee!! Her Winchester books are funny, total thrill rides, and guaranteed to entertain. Bay, Landon, Tillie, and the whole family take on demon children. Be prepared for a new baby in the family!!
Ok demons can be tricky, but child demons are creepy and more evil. There are secrets that come out. A clown doll, and an FBI agent who is gung ho! This story has it all. Oh, and Aunt Tillie wasn't a huge pain. On to the next adventure!💙💚😉
It was nice to see aunt Tilly, taking pretty much a backseat in this story. It’s gonna be interesting to see how thistles story continues to evolve. And we get to see Bay actually come into her full destiny.
The is was a story that didn’t focus much on the feud between Tillie and Mrs Little. I really enjoyed the evil children and what they were after. I enjoy this series a lot, but this seemed like a nice “turn” from the usual issues they all face
Story was predictable.... and Landon is being written as a fool much of the time. He used to be a strong male character but not so much in the last few books
I think I enjoyed it more because Aunt Tllie wasn't being so crazy that the story drove me mad. I know it's all about witches etc that don't exist but I can suspend disbelief and enjoy.
I love all your books! But I wonder why you make all the men idiots like whiny idiots in your books that personal? It just seems funny that the women are all strong and wicked and the Man week and whiny.
It’s amazing how with book 27, Amanda still creates a totally original story. Love how Bay’s power and confidence is growing and Bay and Landon as a couple with disparate power are figuring it out. Nice side story with Thistle. Looking forward to the next book.
I'm always sad when I finish the book. The Wicked Witches of the Midwest is my favorite read. Can't wait for the next one. I was surprised Aunt Tillie wasn't in it as much. Bay is really starting to come around in her magic. Can't wait to see what comes next.
Plot issue Bay was supposed to be 6 when her mother and aunt's dealt with child demons first time prologue was 20 years previously But Bay gave her age as 32 so she was 12 not 6 or 7 as was stated I'm not picking holes but I don't think bay was in first grade at age 12
Great read, lots of humor and snark and Thistle has a big secret that will be explosive in the family and how can Bay and friends hide what they're doing from the feds. Awesome read.
Bay, Thistle, Clove are the basis of the series, the latter 2 are rarely mentioned anymore, but hoping/expecting things are changing. Just don't EVER change Aunt Tillie! Good read as always. The Aunts are classics
I absolutely love this series. I started this series first and then added Scout and Stormy. I love that you incorporate these women in each other's stories. Makes for really great reading. Please don't stop! 🥰
