Lovely, festive, fun read, although I cried buckets at Palma’s storyline. Perfect bit of escapism. This is the first Milly Johnson book I’ve read and it won’t be the last
Annie, Palma and Eve all meet at the ‘Christmas Pudding Club’, a new directive started by a forward-thinking young doctor to help mums-to-be mingle and share their pregnancy journeys. Will this group help each other to find love, contentment and peace as Christmas approaches?
The story follows three women on their pregnancy journeys starting in Spring and leading up to Christmas. The Christmas part is very lacking - not enough for me to consider it a festive read. I was most invested in Palma's story - a surrogacy pregnancy agreement falls apart when the couple split up. I really felt for this character throughout the book and wanted a good ending for her. In general, I wasn't super captivated with this book - probably due to the motherhood and pregnancy themes but I can see how this would be a a very enjoyable and highly rated read for any Mum out there (just not at christmas!).
Oh my goodness! Well, this was a bit of a tear jerker! 😭 It had me sobbing!!
But, oh, how I loved the characters and especially adored the friendship between Palma, Eve and Annie. I would have loved to have been in their Christmas Pudding club when I was pregnant! For any die hard Milly Johnson fans it definitely has The Yorkshire Pudding club vibes!
A story about three woman expecting Christmas babies and even though it deals with tough topics, this book is filled with the usual Yorkshire humour that you’d expect from Milly Johnson books. I just loved it!
I didn’t know until I read the acknowledgements, that this book’s proceeds will go towards raising funds for Milly’s friend Claire Throssell, who lost her two children in a fire set by her ex husband. This makes this book so special… I loved the characters, their stories and how this book all came together. Apparently there’s a few crossover characters from other books but ultimately this is a standalone book. This is definitely a 5* read!!
This is the most heartwarming book I have read this year. A book about friendship and community. I did find the book predictable and long but all in all, a great read. Be warned, there is the loss of a baby in here, so if it is something that triggers you, DO NOT PICK IT UP!!

I really enjoy Milly Johnson’s Christmas books! I read one around the same time last year, and it really gets me ready for Christmas! Really liked getting to know all of the characters, was not expecting Palma’s story to end the way it did.
