the culmination of the revenge wasn't as satisfying as i hoped but that wasn't my biggest issue. the biggest issue is that remilia ended up accepting the demon king's confession out of fucking nowhere, and they ended up getting married without anyyyyy romantic build up (at least from remilias side, there was a little bit for the demon king i guess) and then in the epilogue we finally see emi again and i was so happy and then they just had to make it weird by having remilia make emi into her child (?) like wtf i did not just ship those two for the past 4 books for them to end up mother and daughter omggg
in conclusion: would've been better as a yuri

3 stars. Good premise, fun art, slow/awkward pacing with boring elements
Also read a sixth volume not on Goodreads, ame score (but not b/c boring as much but weird elements thrown in at the end, like weird torture/experimental chamber for two people and also the step-brother being in love with her out of nowhere...like never checked-in on her, so that was out of left field and mentioned b/c??? there was a hint of it in the first volume, but it was absent, no foreshadowing or anything until the end reveal, so just "eh" and "why?")
(maybe) i was hoping for dramatic downfall of Pina, and (actually) (kinda) dissatisfied with their ending, it a bit rushed, no? i think i’ll gonna be okay if author wants to make another one book for their ending, but yeah, overall (chef’s kiss)
Although just another reincarnation villainess story, it was still unique in its own way. I enjoyed it as a nice and quick feel good story. It’s great to see two women characters really care and respect each other.
And a beautifully clean finish, very very cathartic
Lowkey think this might be one of the most well-rounded, if not the best in otome at this point in time, and it's no real surprise to hear there's an anime in production for it. Looking mad forward to seeing how that shakes out
