I grew up being a HUGE movie lover. In more recent years, I feel as if the new crop of actors and actresses have not grabbed me the way the previous generation did. With that, seeing a book "Anatomy of an Actor" and the name Robert De Niro...I was immediately interested in reading. The book is formatted into 10 films which are truly dissected, and I think this is where the charm of the book shines. I am sure I would have picked some of these films but probably others because of my love for the actor. The selections really make the book, and the selection is probably better than I would have been able to do myself. My favorite two are The Godfather Part II and Taxi Driver, which I would have selected but the book shines because of the other 8 in my opinion. I guess I loved the small write-up about the movie The Score (a movie I loved but was a box office disappointment)..and even having it in this book further showed Glenn Kenny's true depth of reviewing the subject matter. Great book for the movie lover and aspiring actors/actresses.
