Phil Alexander Robertson was an American professional hunter, businessman (Duck Commander company), and reality television star on the popular television series Duck Dynasty. He was also featured on the television show Duck Commander, a hunting program on the Outdoor Channel. He served as patriarch of the Duck Dynasty Robertson family.
He attended Louisiana Tech University, where he played football. He received a master's degree in education and spent several years teaching prior to founding Duck Commander, a hunting equipment company.
Robertson was the subject of controversy after a 2013 interview he did with GQ magazine, where he said that homosexual behavior was sinful. As a result, A&E suspended him from Duck Dynasty. Facing a strong backlash from his supporters, A&E lifted the suspension after nine days.
In September 2023, a biographical film on the early life of Robertson, The Blind, was released in theaters.

Happy, happy, happy is what I feel as I read The Duck Commander Faith and Family Bible. The New King James Version translates Bible verses into easily understandable scripture. For an example, "Have mercy upon me, O God, According to Your lovingkindness; According to the multitude of Your tender mercies, Blot out my transgressions." Psalm 51: 1 Phil and Al Robertson each write 52 devotionals on Faith, Family, Fellowship, Forgiveness, and Freedom. What impressed me as I read Phil and Al's personal thoughts was their honesty and the way they truly shared from the heart. They wrote in plain, everyday language that all readers could understand and relate to. There are also 30 Days of Lifechangers' stories.
I thought the print was fairly easy to read. I would have liked if the print were a bit larger for my own personal needs, but I could read it. The hardcover edition has a lovely cover and would make a sturdy Bible to carry along for Bible studies and church worship. There is a "Set Your Sights" Index breaking down the devotional topics even further for readers. There are devotions based on: Affluence, Anger, Anxiety, Apprehension, Assurance, Belief, Brokenness, Calling, Cares, Cheer, Children, Comfort, Commitment, Compassion, Concerns, Confidence, Consolation, Conversation, Conviction, Dedication, Distress, Endurance, Expectation, Fairness, Faith, Family, Favor, Fellowship, Fear, Fellowship, Forgiveness, Freedom, Gossip, Grace, Grief, Happiness, Healing, Heart, Heaven, Hell, Hope, Insight, Joy, Judgment, Justice, Kindness, Knowledge, Love, Marriage, Mind, Mission, Money, Parenting, Patience, Peace, Perseverance, Prayer, Purpose, Reassurance, Repentance, Resentment, Restoration, Righteousness, Serenity, Sin, Solace, Sorrow, Speech, Stewardship, Stillness, Stress, Suffering, Temptation, Tolerance, Tongue, Troubles, Trust, Understanding, Wealth, Wisdom, Worry, and Wrath. This book will make a wonderful gift for men or families. I plan to give my copy to someone special as a Christmas gift. I rate this Bible 5 stars.

MY REVIEW

For all of you Duck Dynasty fans, you will love this Bible. It is the Duck Commander Bible with a hearty welcome from Phil and Al, the oldest son. The cover looks like a man, and even under the dust jacket it has Duck Commander logo. It is the NKJV and has 125 really awesome articles that Phil and Al wrote. The Robertson boys might like Camouflage, but they will let you know that there is nothing camouflaged here in this Bible. And also included are the five core values that have been the cornerstone of their lives; faith, family, fellowship, forgiveness and freedom. This is a really cool Bible for anyone, but especially the Duck Dynasty fans. Get the Bible that tells what is behind this wonderful family.

Join the Hunt for the Truth That Can Transform Your Life!

Ducks may be their business, but for Phil and Al Robertson, faith in Jesus Christ comes first.

The Roberson duo has spent a lifetime exploring God’s unconditional love. The corner stone of their lives is based on five core values: faith, family, fellowship, forgiveness and freedom.

Features of this Bible
 125 articles by Phil and Al Robertson
 Personal welcome note from Phil and Al
 Topical index
 Reading plans
 Supplementary scripture references
 Lifetime guarantee from Thomas Nelson Publishing on the quality of this Bible
 Free online Study download from Thomas Nelson Publishing

This hard-cover Bible is illustrated in true Duck Commander style. The jacket boasts the Duck Commander logo with a picturesque scene of a lake at the bottom. Underneath the jacket, the cover is off white with wood grain. The spine is brown with white lettering and the front also has the Duck Commander logo. Inside the cover you will find a presentation page, Phil and Al’s welcome, contents, introduction of the editors, 52 days of what Phil and Al each have to say about their five core values divided into the five categories, Lifechangers index, 30 days of Lifechangers articles by Phil and Al, an explanation of the translation of the NKJV and then the actual Bible Scripture. All throughout the Bible there are articles by the Roberson duo called “Set Your Sights” which are also based on their five core values, with the value of each article being bolded at the top. At the end of each article is a section called “On The Hunt” which is a list of more scripture that coincides with the article.

In the back of the Bible is an index for the articles in “Set Your Sights” broken down in the topics such as anger, anxiety, belief, etc. To finish it off there are articles or charts on, the ABC’s of Salvation, 30 days with Jesus, Ministry of Jesus, Parables of Jesus, and miracles of the Apostles.

My opinion:
This is a beautifully illustrated Bible filled with articles by the Robertson duo, Phil and Al. These articles are based on true experiences involving their family and their core values. When I first started looking through the Bible for my review I read the first 20 days without even realizing it. I am impressed with their willingness to share not only the good in their life experiences but also the not so good experiences. This shows they are just as normal as the neighbor next door. I loved how they turned these situations into glory and honor for God. As for the Bible its self, I found it to be pretty typical of the NKJV. To me the print was somewhat small especially for those of us who are older.

All in all I would recommend this if you are looking for helps and articles that deal with everyday situations and life issues in general. Also if you are a fan of the Robertson family this is a must-have. It would be a great gift for the male in your life.

Disclosure: I was given a copy of this Bible by the publisher, Thomas Nelson, through BookLookBloggers, program for review. I was not required to write a favorable review nor was I compensated for my review. The opinions in this review are my own.

My Review:

As everyone well knows unless of course you have been living under a rock for the past several years, the Robertson family has become a huge franchise. I for one love the family and all they stand for. It is truly an honor to review their products. We as a family enjoy their family immensely and my husband and I love the fact that we don't have to sensor their show. This Bible was a collaboration between Phil and Al and showcases their years of experience preaching the gospel. Included in the Bible are just a few of their life changing sermons to help give us an insight into their speaking of the Word and to help us further understand what we read therein.

This Bible has many different features such as the ABC's of salvation, 30 Days with Jesus, a section on Jesus' ministry complete with scripture references. I really enjoy learning more about this family and I am delighted that they have released a Bible to honor our King.

The New King James version of the Bible is one of my favorites for reading. When I got the chance to review this book, I jumped at it! I adore the Robertson family and their down-home family values. They aren't afraid to let you see that they are real people and as Christians, I think that is fabulous. The fact that they are from my home state of Louisiana, and that they are in my religious tribe are just added bonus. I really get them. :)

This Bible does not disappoint! It is beautiful to look at and sturdy to use. The articles by Phil and Al give wonderful insight and are all filled with scripture references. I particularly enjoyed the personal testimonials at the beginning of the Bible.

Although the Duck Commander Faith and Family Bible might not be for everyone… it is, in my opinion, a great study Bible… and if you are a fan of the Duck Dynasty family, you will most certainly appreciate this Bible!

Duck Commander Phil Robertson and his eldest son Al Robertson share their faith with us… as a matter of fact, they share what they refer to as their family’s five core values; these five core values have been the cornerstone of their lives:

1. faith
2. family
3. fellowship
4. forgiveness
5. freedom

This study Bible has many features, including a few special ones, including:

~ A personal welcome note from Phil and Al
~ 52 days… devotionals by Phil Robertson
~ 52 days… devotionals by Al Robertson
~ 30 days… LifeChangers
~ New King James Version – similar to KJV

This is an excellent Bible. I enjoyed the stories/devotionals; the LifeChangers are exactly that – life changers! I read one, then another, then another… they are labeled for 30 days, but it’s too easy to read them all at one time – they’re wonderful examples to everyone!

The Robertson family is a godly example to us all; placed throughout the Bible are headings, describing the scripture about to be read, such as “making the altar of incense” for Exodus 37:25-28 and “The LORD the Shepherd of His People for Psalm 23.

There are also articles by the Phil and Al Roberson—aptly called “Set Your Sights” which again are based on their five core values, with the value of each article being bolded at the top. At the end of each article there are corresponding scriptures that coincide with it.

In the back of the Bible is the index for the “Set Your Sights” articles and there are charts on the ABC’s of Salvation, 30 days with Jesus, Ministry of Jesus, Parables of Jesus, and miracles of the Apostles. I especially enjoyed the 30 days with Jesus chart.

I prefer the KJV text, but I am happy to adjust to the NKJV text for the many advantages when using this for a study Bible.

All in all a wonderful addition to our library.

The Duck Commander Faith and Family Bible are the New King James version of the Bible. Executive editors are Phil and Al (the beardless one) Robertson from the hit series Duck Dynasty. This Bible includes 125 articles by Phil and Al along with a special welcome note. It also includes a topical index, reading plans and supplementary scripture references.

Duck calls may be their business; but for Phil and Al Robertson, Jesus Christ is number one in their hearts. The Set Your Sights articles are core values that the Robertson's live by; Faith, Family, Fellowship, Forgiveness, and Freedom. There is an index of the twenty-five or so "issues of life" showing where it is addressed and where each of the core values is applied to the topic. Also in the index is the ABC's of salvation along with a scripture verse that applies. The Bible is packed full of extras from the Robertsons. I like the typeface and durability of this Bible. I would recommend this Bible to not only fans of the show but to everyone.

Disclosure of Material Connection: I received this book free from the publisher through the BookLook Bloggers book review bloggers program. I was not required to write a positive review. What a treasure! The bible itself is a multifaceted jewel. This beautiful book adds several additional layers and make it not only interesting reading but a valuable tool as well.

My husband and I share our phone, tablet, ipad and computer. He has no interest in the romance books that I download, but he was definitely interested in this book. We are all fans of the Robertsons and Duck Commander. Ray's son even sports a Robertson-like beard and really resembles Jase.

In this book you'll find:
The complete NKJV bible
52 Daily Devotions by Phi and Al each
Life Changers - 30 days
The ABCs of Salvation
30 Days With Jesus
Ministry of Jesus
Parables of Jesus
Miracles of Jesus
Miracles of the Apostles
There's even a Set Your Sites Index

So much more than a bible, spend daily time in His word, enjoying the company of Phil and Al as well. Plus it's a great study and bible reference.

This is an excellent Bible. I completely enjoyed the stories/devotionals through this Bible. Some of them are funny, some sad, but all make you think. All of them are scriptural and can be applied in some way to your life. I already knew of the Robertson family from the show but this helps expound on what you think you know about them. The stories shared are personal and not flowered up at all, but basic to the point stories. The Bible itself is a wonderful edition that I would recommend to anyone who wanted a good Bible.
Completely a 5/5 for me. I know this will be a Bible that I recommend to family and friends.
Thank you to the publisher for the review copy of this book (via BookLook). I received this book in exchange for an honest review and the opinions stated above are 100% mine.

What I appreciate most about the added content is that it isn't fluff or leadership lessons, it's all about repentance and faith and sharing Jesus at every opportunity.

The notes sections by Phil and Al are really helpful

Those sections really help break down how things correlate into modern day life, using stories and anecdotes from the Robertsons' lives to show how God provides, and he will do the same for you if you place your faith in Jesus!
