A brand-new comedy starring Taraji P. Henson and Tracee Ellis Ross.
Separated by 10 years, 3,000 miles, and the unrelenting stresses of adulthood, best friends Janet and Serena plan a 40th birthday girls’ trip to reconnect. But after a massive crash, they’re the only survivors to wash ashore on an uncharted Caribbean Island.
Armed with only the clothes on their backs and zero survival skills, they fight to overcome hunger, thirst, deadly wildlife—and most terrifyingly—decades of accrued resentment. Can they find their way home, or will they kill each other first?
Stranded is a comedy about survival, friendship, and surviving your friendship, with an all-star cast including Taraji P. Henson, Tracee Ellis Ross, Blake Griffin, Whoopi Goldberg, Taye Diggs, Zazie Beetz, Nicole Byer, Tim Robinson, Keith David, Mikey Day, Ashley Nicole Black, Larry Wilmore, and Phylicia Rashad.
Please note: This show is for mature audiences only. It contains explicit language, sexual references, and adult themes. Discretion is advised.
This was actually the first audiobook with a full production (sound effects, etc) that I really liked! Sounded like a movie and the effects weren’t distracting like I usually find them. It was funny and fast paced and of course I love Tracee and Taraji.
This was just loud (a lot of yelling) and a bit silly, but I enjoyed the cast so bumped it up a few stars. Almost like a silly lil version of girls trip.
There is a difference between being truly funny and trying so hard to be funny. This book was the latter. The only reason I gave it 2 stars is because I like Taraji and Tracee.
Stranded is fun, exciting, and relevant. As we grow older, we sometimes forget that the relationships with those we love and care about grow older, too. Sometimes, those relationships suffer because of growing apart, lifestyle changes, distance, and lack of communicating. So, Stranded exists to tell you to check on that BFF you hadn't seen in years to see what still remains.
This story is relevant because so many of us can get caught up in our daily lives and routines and forget the people that helped us even grow into our adulthood versions of ourselves. Those people that knew us from way back when and loved us because of our personalities and spunk.
I am guilty of being one of those people that don't call my girlfriends as much as I should and hoping we could be different, but life has not been too kind to me in recent years so the excuses keep mounting. Nonetheless, this story will show you that true friendship never dies. Now, it might be tested, but it won't die if the relationships are strong to begin with.
Also, this story is an Audible production, do you hear me? It was like a movie for your ears. Also, Henson and Ross are wonderful together and then there's an entire cast of greats like Whoopi, Phylicia Rashaad, Tay Diggs, and Jay Ellis that help to make this story shine.
I hope you give Stranded a try. You never know when you and your BFF might get stranded on a desert island.
I Picked Up This Book Because: Needed a short read to finish the month.

The Story:
This was so much fun. I didn't know what to expect as I only picked this up for a short read before the month changed but I turned out really good. Mayhem, strong friendships, survival trials and a bumbling detective. It had it all.
This was amazing ! I never knew I needed Taraji and Tracee in the same show. Being stranded on an island, working on friendship, and finding self-worth all wrapped in one. After being saved, they are getting interrogated because a murder happened. This was a fun listening experience. I wish there would be a part 2.
I really enjoyed this audiobook, it was a quick easy listen. It made me laugh & self reflect on how we can sometimes let life consume us & we forget the important things & people. The full cast of narration & sound effects is always a plus for me.
I really enjoyed this audible original. The storyline is a bit ridiculous but it is hilarious. And Keith David voices one of the characters and I absolutely love his voice work. Taraji and Tracee were also excellent. It's a fun way to spend a couple of hours and I definitely recommend giving this one a listen.
3.5** okay, I actually found this one pretty funny. I caught myself laughing out loud a few times while listening. There were a few things that were just a little dumb but overall I enjoyed this cute story about friendship.
I enjoyed this quick little story! It made me giggle the whole time. It’s about 2 women who go on a mini vacay together and get stranded on an island. They cross challenges along the way and rekindle their friendship. This book is also like watching a movie, there’s a whole cast crew and sound effects in the background 10/10 would recommend.
This was hilarious! I don't even know how I came across it but once I saw it was narrated by Taraji and Tracee it was a no-brainer. Imagine sitting at a red light trying not to look crazy while laughing at an audiobook lol
it was 100% better than the one I listened to earlier-- better acted and better story but I prefer listening to an actual book with exposition and dialog over a production that sounds like listening to a movie. That's not a book.
4⭐️ This audiobook has me literally laughing out loud. First, the two narrators are two of my favourite actresses, and hearing them read the story was like watching a movie. This is a heartwarming comedy story about two best friends and how their relationship changes with time and distance, but their love for each other remains the same, even if they have a weird way of showing it.
Uuuugh. I am embarrassed that I loled a couple of times... but they're were funny parts. This book was unbelievable, packed with swears and petty arguments, and just kind of icky overall. I did finish it, though, but I almost turned it off several times. I found it on a search for clean books, but it was definitely not clean, even though there was no actual sex in it. Also, the potty humor was unnecessary. It was like gross slap stick comedy. Ugh. The ocelot. And that wasn't even the worst part. 🤦♀️However, the sound effects and narrative were really good.
This was cute and funny. Both Taraji and Tracee are hilarious. They were a great combination. I heard a few other well-known voices. I know I pray I am never stranded on an island 😆.
