5 stars for the ohhhh-my-gawwwwd blistering hot sex and 4 stars for an ok romance.
You name it this book has it: f/m, m/m, ffff, m/m/f, bdsm, voyeurism, orgies galore and every kind of um, let’s say, “unique” sex act imaginable –and all of this ick free to boot! How Page managed to do all that without the yuck factor going way up high is pretty impressive.
Here’s the story of a woman, Venetia, who paints erotic art in order to support her family because her father, who is also a painter, no longer can due to illness. She meets Marcus, an earl/rake who decides to save her from herself but ends up initiating her into a demi-monde of every kind of kinko-rama scorcher sex under the sun! You name it, they give it a whirl 8) Lots of secrets and mystery abound to keep you turning the pages. The story is good but I didn’t particularly like the romance. Something was missing from their love story, but this is one of the very few books that I didn’t really care (!) because the rest was exceptionally well done 8)
Caution: Wear fire proof safety goggles to protect your eyes when reading this baby –the heat coming from these pages will burn you to a crisp ;)

I have to admit, that most of the time when I read an erotic romance (whether contemporary, historical, or something else), I only read a few chapters at a time, then go read something else. Because no matter how hot the book is, or how well written, I get a little bored with the non-stop sex and negligible plot. Sin by Sharon Page wasn't one of those books. Once I got into the story (it starts off a little slow), I was hooked and stuck with the book instead of switching off to a non-erotic book.
Sin is the first book in the Hamilton Sisters trilogy, which is a series about three sisters who are the illegitimate daughters of an erotic artist in early 1800's England. This first book is about the oldest sister, Venetia. Because her father can no longer paint (arthritis in his hands?), she's taken up his passion - painting erotic scenes and publishing them under her fathers name. On the surface, Venetia is an innocent young lady, but beneath that lurks a passionate woman wanting to try all the things she's painted. But her secret life has drawn attention. Marcus Wyndham, Earl of Trent, is soon knocking at her door, demanding she cease painting because little did Venetia know, but the man she often painted is a dead ringer for Marcus. Worse, though, she's drawn the attention of a blackmailer who managed to seduce Venetia's father out of his secrets - that he can no longer paint and his daughter is doing it for him. Venetia's dreams of becoming a painter and becoming independent are crushed. If her secret comes out, everything she's wanted will be gone. She pleads with Marcus to help her seek out Lydia, her blackmailer, so she can beg the woman to stop. Venetia has no idea that Marcus himself is another of Lydia's victims. What to say about this book? For one thing, it's prudent to point out it's not for everyone! There's a little bit of everything in this book, sexually speaking. Because it's pretty much an all-out orgy with various combinations, acts, and anything else you can imagine. So if you're just looking for some basic hot sex, this might not be for you, but if you've got a high kink-factor, then you'll probably like this one.
Aside from the super HOT sex in this book (which was fantastic), one of the things I liked best about this book was that it had a solid storyline to go along with the super hot sex. Sure, it's not a full-fledged romantic suspense or emotional contemporary romance, but there's enough substance outside the sex to keep you reading and make the book not just a bunch of endless sex scenes. Page did an excellent job weaving in the plot of the blackmailer and involving Venetia and Trent. I wanted to keep reading to find out what would happen next.
Romance-wise, it was pretty good. The relationship (romantically-speaking) between Venetia and Trent could have been a little more solid. For most of the book, there's just a lot of sex between them with each thinking there might be something more. I'm not sure what it was...maybe that there just needed to be a tick more sweetness to the relationship. But aside from that, I enjoyed both Venetia and Trent, and they had a sizzling chemistry.
My only real complaint for this book was some of the terminology...quim, ballocks, etc. Yeah, it's probably more period appropriate, but those terms are damn annoying to read! I would have preferred the modern words. They're so much more fitting to an erotic romance novel (historical or not).
And one other thing, I'm curious to know from anyone else who read this book...did anyone else feel like there was a story they'd missed for Trent's sister Min? When I was reading the parts involving her, just the way it was written made me feel like I'd missed a prequel or something. But maybe that was just me!
Anyway, great book! If you like hardcore historical erotic romance, then I'd definitely recommend this book or if you've read and enjoyed either Kate Pearce or Samantha Kane, then give this one a try.

WOW! This is one NASTY, DIRTY book, and I liked it.
Venetia Hamilton is no stranger to erotic art--her father's lush paintings are one of society's secret pleasures.
When Venetia is being blackmailed by her father's mistress because she has taken over her father's business of painting erotic art, she enlists the aide of Marcus Lord Trent. Together they go to an orgy at a country house to try and negotiate with the blackmailer. While there, they encounter people engaging in almost every kind of sex act known to man. They also uncover that everyone there is also being blackmailed by the evil mistress. It doesn't take long for Venetia and Marcus to become caught up in all this sex surrounding them.
This book is an eye popper and some of the scenes had a little "ick" factor for me. Be warned about the sex however, ever though I personally don't like to read about some kinds of sex, I felt what Venetia and Marcus for the most part did was done in a loving, caring way.
Hey, I actually learned some new to me sex acts. I thought I had heard it all but clearly I hadn't. I like when a book broadens my horizons and Is educational. LOL

When Venetia Hamilton's father cannot paint his erotic art books anymore due to his arthritic hands, Venetia paints his books for him. When Marcus Wyndham, the Earl of Trent call on her she instantly knows that he is the man that features in her fathers sketches. He knows that the last erotic book was sketched by someone different, and works out that it was Venetia who painted it. He wants her to stop using his image and then makes her promise to paint no more books ever.
When her fathers ex mistress, Lydia Harcourt begins alphabetically blackmailing her lovers, she threatens to tell Venetias secret. Venetia wants to reason with her but Lydia is away for a week at an orgy so she asks Marcus to get her entry to the orgy and accompany her. Needless to say Lydia is blackmailing half the guests there as everyone has secrets including Marcus.
This book is hot,hot,hot. If you have ever wondered what an orgy would be like then this is the book for you, you will encounter M/M, F/F, Ménages and bondage. Marcus wasn't your average rake and I think he could have given in to temptation a bit quicker, and are we really supposed to believe that Venetia had no option but to attend the orgy! But I honestly couldn't have cared less about the lack of romance, because my jaw was on the floor reading some of the sex scenes, they more than made up for any faults in the plot.
But overall a good read, not for the fainthearted. After just reading Kate Pearce I think that anyone who likes KP will love this book. KP "Simply" series has The House of Pleasure" and this book has a country orgy, similar settings.

Alright, this is ridiculously good. So decadent, yet very traditional (for erotica). It's like an oxymoron.
The heroine is Venetia, who is a ghost artist for her father, a famous erotic artist. Yep, she's drawn erotic pictures and scenarios, since she was 14 or something, but is still a virgin. Along comes, Marcus, who looks strikingly like the man that stars her previous set of erotic drawings, and he wants her to stop using his face and stop drawing (in attempts to save her reputation). The problem is, Venetia needs the money to support her family and more recently, to pay off a blackmailer who is intent on revealing Venetia's scandalous occupation. She enlists Marcus's help to attend an orgy where the said blackmailer would be, so that she can convince the woman to not reveal the secret. But, Marcus has his own secrets on the line, so they both go to the orgy together.
Now, since it is an orgy, we get a glimpse of every possible combination and sexual act, but all of this is done tastefully. Neither Venetia or Marcus indulge in the public displays (except once, but it doesn't count because it was Venetia with the women), though they do have splendid private sex scenes. Still, I don't understand how anal sex is less painful than vaginal sex, which is how the couple try to preserve Venetia's virginity.
I guess this would be classified as mystery HR romantica, lots of sex, but lots of mystery and a romantic monogamous relationship between the leads. The romance was ok, not as bad as some say, but with the beautiful writing and intricate plot and plethora of developed characters, it was not the focal point.
The annoying part would be the language. Historical terms for anatomical parts were a little...weird, but at least the male parts were retained the 'traditional' terms.
I really loved it and I would recommend this to anyone who wants a steamier HR and a more developed erotica.

Ah, HR erotica. I mostly dislike them, but Sin is one of the few exceptions.
This is a re-read for me.
A medium amount of suspension of disbelief is necessary to enjoy this book, but not as much as other HR eroticas I've read, though.

It's official. Sharon Page is my new favourite historical erotica author. Spicy and sometimes funny (the desperate virgin moment is so endearing). I would give this 5 stars but I want justice for Lydia (publish her work posthumously!) and Vee and Marcus's insta-love towards the end made things a little too predictable.

I normally don't read historicals but I am glad I read this one. This book is very erotic and has every sex act you can imagine. It has srong characters, suspense and romance.

Okay, I'm not quite finished with this yet, but I'm thoroughly enjoying it. Let me start by saying that this is true erotica, mostly made possible (and plentiful) in whole by the hero's acquiescence into taking the heroine to her first orgy, per her strong insistence. What's refreshing is that this is a regency-era romance, and the heroine is a virgin to boot (a part that continues to frustrate the hero and the reader--all in a good way.) Historical erotica romance doesn't come around too often, particularly well-written kind. Contemporary erotica is typically just a lot of fucking and sucking, and usually with a heroine that has had sex before. I've read countless regency romance novels--excellent, insightful, thrilling tomes--that left me sexually frustrated because there just wasn't enough...er, fucking and sucking. This book satisfies.
Story and Writing Style
I hate to lump Ms. Page in with other authors haphazardly, but her writing style is very similar to that of other mainstream historical romance novelists. Not bad at all...I was comfortable. Happy. I could read her story from beginning to almost-end and follow her thought-process well. Her description is lively and strong as she takes Venetia and Marcus through the dusky, whirling world of a sex orgy in a British country mansion in the early 1800s. Surrounding Venetia's education of pleasures of the flesh, there's murder, blackmail and intrigue. And her build of tension and the love between the two protagonists is beautiful.

Thus far, there's no rape. None I can remember. Just good, pleasurable sex. And as this is a romance novel, the happy, beautiful union between Marcus and V is just that--happy and beautiful.

This book is one of my favorite guilty pleasures. It’s RIDICULOUSLY and DELICIOUSLY raunchy. It’s erotica at its best – a strong plot, an intriguing heroine and hero, and steamy, scandalous liaisons. What more could you ask for, really, then a plot involving an erotic artist enlisting the help of a rakish Earl to get her into a week long orgy? I. KID. YOU. NOT.

As of now, Sin still reigns supreme for me. It’s possibly one of my favorite erotic novels. And make no mistake, my friends, it is erotic. I even had an urge to hide it while I was reading it, afraid my husband would make out certain key words and wonder what on earth I was reading. *Noneofyourbusiness! RaunchyRyan says as she shuffles her nose deeper into the book to hide her blush*

AMAZING! The beginning to my favorite historical erotic romance, Sin is an incredibly sexy read that never slows the pace for a minute. Eldest Hamilton sister Venetia has secretly been supplying the erotic art under her famous father's name since his health has declined, but when Marcus, the earl of Trent, recognizes himself in the art, he confronts her and outs her. At the same time, someone blackmails her family, so she goes along with Marcus to a country orgy, where she is sexually awakened with Marcus's help. The mystery part of the story is very well done, and Venetia and Marcus's developing relationship and sexual exploration is red hot set in the backdrop of the delicious wild house party. This book put Sharon Page firmly in a top spot as one of my favorite authors.

Wow, now THAT was an erotic read and one of the best/ is it really gonna happen HEA's ! DEFINATELY going to read and follow this author again. This book had suspense, murder mystery, non-stop orgies lol!, and a strong heroine with a reluctant hero which I love. The only reason I'd give it 4.5 stars instead of 5 is because it was a historical romance . Why that bugs me, I don't know lol. READ IT. It's worth it!

Believe it or not my mom introduced these trilogies by Sharon page. I love the book and even loved the other two books that came after them. Sharon Page is a good story telling. Her books are part of the paranormal romance and some are sexually explicit. I'm looking forward to her next book. Enjoy!

A Love Story Only Sharon Page Can Write
A virginal erotic painter meets reformed rake earl and they fall in love. Add blackmail, murder, mystery, orgies, BDSM, lots of lust and highly erotic sexual encounters and graphic language then you get a book true to Sharon Page and her style of writing. Was it too much graphic and erotic sex for me? Yes. But why the 5 stars? Because it is consistent with the author’s style. Her books never pretended to be otherwise. The main plot is still a love story. It was not swallowed up by the murder or orgies. I must admit though that after reading this book I would like something nice and sweet and light. Then maybe I can move on to the next Sharon Page book.

Sinful pleasure
Loved Vee and Marcus, they were both thoroughly likeable characters. The romance was sweet, the plot compelling and the action HOT. I have no idea if such events are historically accurate, but I was more than willing to suspend my disbelief....

Took me a while to finish this, never thought I’d ever say this but too much smut!!!! The sex scenes went on and on, it made it difficult to read especially in the beginning. I liked the murder mystery in the second half though.

very hot and the buildup is insane almost too long and i liked that it was historical but ugh it took me soooo long to get through this one i took multiple breaks from it and basically skimmed the ending - also idk why she didn’t want to marry him at first i thought that was the whole point???
