it should be a 3.5, but I'll stand by a 4 star since the plot lines are interesting. I've been thoroughly enjoying this series—it's compelling, well-paced, and rich with intriguing plot lines. The overarching story has kept me engaged from the beginning, and each installment builds meaningfully on the last.
That said, I found the portrayal of the female lead in this particular book somewhat frustrating. While she’s depicted as physically strong and capable, her emotional and mental resilience feel underdeveloped. In the previous book, she came across as overly whiny, and in this installment, she's burdened with a constant sense of guilt and responsibility for everything that goes wrong. She apologizes excessively and seems to carry the weight of the world on her shoulders, which makes her feel less like a strong, well-rounded character and more like a vessel for self-blame.
It would be refreshing to see her evolve into a more emotionally grounded and mentally resilient figure—someone whose strength isn't just physical, but internal as well. Despite this critique, the series remains a great read overall, and I’m looking forward to seeing how the story continues to unfold.

Summory of Book 4 Court:
So much happens within just a week of time. There is no time for the characters to process what the hell happens to them. That being said, in just the first dramatized version of Court;
The school nurse is the only person left behind on the school grounds. All the students have been taken to the Vampire court and being held in captivity. Flint has the luxury that it is the school nurse who was left, as she helps him heal with his lost limb. The group decides what to do with the body of Luca, as there is a small time frame for vampire bodies to disintegrates after death. Flint's hurt and anger about the events have affect of the way the group and Hudson himself, feel about his powers and when he will and will not use them.
While the group has a small window of time to sleep/rest, Grace tries to communicate with her great+ grandfather. He is very confused and not able to speak coherently. When they touch, Grace is transported to the Gargoyle court in Ireland (Cork), where she sees her grandfather in his prime. He shows her the court, the gargoyles training there for over a millennium and has the time to explain gargoyle abilities with her. Grace also learns that Alistair, his real name, has a very powerful mate, who is still alive. The crown symbol that he transferred to Grace, must be given to his mate, and fast. As Grace returns to the current dimension/timeline/car ride, Alistair repeats that there is "no time" and he leaves. Probably to find his mate. Grace notices that the 30 minuets she spend at the Gargoyle court, where only 5 minutes in her own time. Now with more knowledge off her origins and the green emerald ring from Alistair around her finger, she joins Hudson again to visit Flint and see the rest of the group to decide what to do.
When Luca's parents arrive to collect their son's body, they warn the group that the nurse was loyal to Cyrus all along, and that they should flee. Before they all regroup and decide where to go, a wolf, Dawoud(?), has ran ahead to warn them and ask them to help they/them to get their brother back. When the rest of the dozens of wolfs arrive, Hudson uses his power to disintegrate all the wolfs. Further psychologically burdening him for what it takes him to do so. Macy starts opening a portal to the Witches court while Hudson and Jaxon fight of the new hoard of wolfs. They make it in time to the portal, as they leave behind a destroyed Katmere.
In the Witches court, the group does not succeed to get the witches to their side and confront Cyrus. To many children of the witches are held captive and they are to afraid to defy Cyrus. While being forced to leave the witches court, a single witch talks to the group and reveals to them that Macy's mother, Rowena, has been at the vampire court al along. This is a devastating blow to Macy, and her goal and motivation is to free the students and her parents from the Vampire court as fast as possible. Knowing that doing so without a plan would kill them al, they decide to see the Gargoyle court in real life. With the help of dragons and flight abilities, the group travels to the Gargoyle court to find a place of ruins. With the court not being a place to stay, Hudson books a AirB&B with a Lighthouse included. They will use that as a base of operations to figure out what to do next. (*)
Hudson shares that he wishes for Grace to eventually take away his powers from him, with the power that the crown gives the bearer. Grace refuses and Hudson reveals how much it costs him whenever he uses them. The conflict isn't resolved, but Grace and Hudson make sure they will continue thinking about it.
After that, Hudson explains that he thinks one of Grace's strings, the green one, is connected to something very powerful within Grace. More that only her gargoyle strength. When Grace tries to experiment with the string, she blows up part of the lighthouse. Very powerful indeed. Luckily Hudson is stupidly rich, so he makes sure he is now the owner of said tower. He wouldn't get his deposit back anyway. (I find this extremely hilarious and could not leave it out.)
Guessing that the Bloodletter might be the only one to help them with their questions and, her cave being a place where they are safe from Cyrus, they al decide to go to her ice cave back in Alaska.
It turns out that the Bloodletter is Cassia, the God of Choas. Sister to the Crone, God of Order, Adria. Also the mate to Alistair and thus Grace's grandmother. The sisters have been enemies for as long as time. To calm down their escalating conflicts, other god(s) "cursed" them with the principle: 'What happens to one, shall happen to the other.' So when the Bloodletter locked herself up in the ice cave in Alaska to help save her unborn child, the gargoyle court and everything that happened with her than lieutenant Cyrus, Adria is also locked up. (And as a reader, you realize that Adria should also have had a child by this logic...). Grandmere Cassia, explains to Grace that Cyrus used a poison, made by Adria, to infect al of the gargoyles. There should be a way for Grace to "push" al that poison back to Cyrus. But that will be difficult because Grace her "Demi-God power" is still in it's baby fase. When Cassia makes Grace practice this pushing, Grace tears a hole in time. Probably set up by Cassia to lure out the God of Time; Jikan. He reveals that he froze the entire Gargoyle court/army to stop the poison from spreading and thus taking effect. As he hates it when there is a hole in time, he threatens to unfreeze the Gargoyle army if Grace keeps on experimenting with stopping and resuming time. He tells the group that there is a antidote for the poison; the Tears of Eleos. He drops of the group at a taffy shop in Florida, which hides the door to the Impossible Trials. The cashier tells the group that know one has ever succeeded the trials and continues to warn Grace that she shouldn't try. She is not ready, her god power is way to underdeveloped to even consider taking part in the trials.
Grace believes that she needs the Tears as the antidote for the poison that the gargoyles are infected with first. After using the antidote, she can use the army to help free the Katmere students, Macy's parents and kill Cyrus. Macy confronts Grace that time is ticking by and that the trials are not an option. Once the group get back to the Lighthouse, Hudson and Grace have time to process parts of all the information that was given to them. They also spend time to come together.
The next day Jaxon is an idiot and enters the room without knocking. Because he is a dumb younger brother. He fills Hudson and Grace in that Flint, Mekhi, Dawoud and Macy left at their own accord to the Vampire court. Grace is frustrated that the group is starting to divide, while they should stay and stand together as a stronger unit. Hudson has a way in to the Vampire court, so Grace, Hudson, Jaxon, and Eden travel to Londen. The secret way in, is via Hudsons lair. Grace feels that the place should mean something to her and she figures out that this was the place where she and Hudson stayed, while stuck in her head for 4 months.
When entering the Vampire Court via the crypts, Grace learns about 'the Decent' that vampire children go to at the start of their 5th birthday. Jaxon is confused when Hudson tells how the ritual was used on him, for that way, it would have been way more traumatic than what happened to him. Not only does Grace get a better understanding of the torture that Jaxon and Hudson had to go through, Jaxon realizes how much more horrific it was for Hudson. They get ambushed and captured by non other than Isadora Vega. She reveals she is the brothers half-sister. A daughter of Cyrus, that none of them knew about.
After being thrown in a cell where Macy finds her mother and father, which does not go well for uncle Finn, Cyrus takes the entire group with him, to a separate torture chamber. Cyrus implies that Liam betrayed the group. The knowledge that Cyrus shares, indicates that Liam probably was the one who shared information about the group to Cyrus. He forces Grace to cooperate with his will, by making Isadora use her Soul Siphon ability on Liam. Cyrus absorbs the power, while Liam dies. Grace makes a magical bargain, that she hopes will give her just enough room to maneuver in. She must find the God Stone, hidden somewhere in the Gargoyle Court and bring it to Cyrus. If she does so, she, and all the students must be set free. Isadora must come with them. Grace transports the group, now minus Liam and plus Isadora, to the frozen Gargoyle Court.
General Chastain is an very annoying prick. Grace tries to deserve his respect, but honestly, he is an stubborn old man who doesn't even try to accept her as his 'queen', even though he was there when Alistair told him that Grace was the new leader of the Gargoyle court.
Opinion: The communication and support that Hudson and Grace give to each other is done extremely well in my opinion. There are mistakes and there is hurt and misunderstanding. But the social-emotional intelligence that is there; transforming, growing, evolving, is so nice to hear/read in a young adult book. They don't give up on each other. They push buttons when needed, they listen and actually reflect on what the other is saying. That character arc, the growth, the persistence and RESPECT that Hudson and Grace show, makes me love them as a couple.

Because time in the court moves faster, they finally have some time to talk with each other, to make plans, to ask and talk about what happened. There is even room for the start of some empathy surrounding Isadora as she reveals a bit more about herself.
The first night at the frozen court, shows a horrific truth. Nothing dies for real, so all the dead gargoyles in skeletal form, storm the walls of the castle every night. When Hudson disintegrates the thousands of skeletons, he screams out that they where all gargoyles. Every night he destroys the hoard of monsters. While the group tries to find the God Stone by night, and train with the army by day, Hudson descends into a closed off version of himself. The group found out that Chastain wears the God Stone as a ring. So they will find a way to get the ring of off him. When Grace pushes for communication and clarification about his feelings, she helps Hudson through some though, traumatized thinking patterns, while maybe not in the most subtle way. But again: Grace and Hudson force each other to become better. To believe in themselves and each other.

Graphic Audio did an amazing job per usual (why I gave 2 stars instead of 1), but the story itself.. this was so pointless, we're on book 4 & honestly basically nothing has been explained to us nor has anything happened of any real significance & I'm genuinely wondering wtf the point of this series is. I hate to be so harsh but by book 4 I don't think it's unreasonable to expect some freaking answers by now. It's just nonstop falling into obvious traps & learning absolutely nothing in the process.

why wouldn't you just tell the gargoyles the stupid plan involving the stone? why in the world would the gargoyles even help her if she's just gonna screw them over by stealing from them & not telling them anything going on?! why let the leader of the gargoyle army think the evil vampire king's daughter is soooooo talented & amazing & great & blah blah instead of tell them immediately she's working with the enemy & wants to use the gargoyles for power?! I mean they're stuck in a time pocket so why not take out the daughter of the enemy right there & then? one major enemy gone. I honestly don't understand what in the eff was going on in the author's head while writing this unless they genuinely have zero actual ability to think logically in any sense, therefore making the characters absolutely stupid af & can't think logically in any sense & thus continues on a story that has zero point to it anymore other than everyone's so stupid maybe they all deserve to die. I'm sorry but this was absolutely infuriating to torture myself with when I, for some stupid reason thought "well by book 4 there must be answers & explanations finally after 3 books of nothing", clearly I was wrong. The author clearly knows the show Legacies, which means they know about vampire diaries, & even as much as I'm not a fan of twilight, for some reason the author couldn't develop an ability to put an actual plot together & understand people expect answers when you're constantly dangling questions in their face but then refuse to explain anything leaving the readers baffled & confused as to what they're even reading/listening to.. by book 4 I have officially lost my patience of hoping that "the next book" will finally explain things & help me understand wtf the point of this story is & thus my extremely rare angry unfiltered review I have only reserved for books that I genuinely couldn't even remotely try to pretend wasn't horrible & a giant waste of everyone's time.
Unfortunately, I paid for the stupid 2nd half of this audiobook already so unfortunately I'll have to force myself through just half a book more before I can wipe my hands of this entire series.
My honest opinion? watch vampire diaries (the spinoffs the originals & legacies don't make as much sense if you haven't watched VD first) instead, or even watch the twilight movies, it'll be a million times more worth your time than with this series of absolute rambling nothingness garbage to the most extreme extent possible. I really wish I could say otherwise but enough is enough, by book 4 of a 6 book series.. as an author you should be giving your readers actual answers & understanding of wtf you're expecting them to read/listen to otherwise you should've never made it a multi book series in the first place.

The author clearly knows the show Legacies, which means they know about vampire diaries, & even as much as I'm not a fan of twilight, for some reason the author couldn't develop an ability to put an actual plot together & understand people expect answers when you're constantly dangling questions in their face but then refuse to explain anything leaving the readers baffled & confused as to what they're even reading/listening to.. by book 4 I have officially lost my patience of hoping that "the next book" will finally explain things & help me understand wtf the point of this story is & thus my extremely rare angry unfiltered review I have only reserved for books that I genuinely couldn't even remotely try to pretend wasn't horrible & a giant waste of everyone's time.
Unfortunately, I paid for the stupid 2nd half of this audiobook already so unfortunately I'll have to force myself through just half a book more before I can wipe my hands of this entire series.
My honest opinion? watch vampire diaries (the spinoffs the originals & legacies don't make as much sense if you haven't watched VD first) instead, or even watch the twilight movies, it'll be a million times more worth your time than with this series of absolute rambling nothingness garbage to the most extreme extent possible. I really wish I could say otherwise but enough is enough, by book 4 of a 6 book series.. as an author you should be giving your readers actual answers & understanding of wtf you're expecting them to read/listen to otherwise you should've never made it a multi book series in the first place.

Finally getting better so I had the energy to listen to audio books again and omg 😩. I’m absolutely hooked. This book series has me completely. Another 5/5⭐️ read and I can’t wait to see how it goes!
This series is just so wholesome that it almost had me in tears multiple times but also wishing I had someone like Hudson. If I don’t get someone like him then I don’t want him. This is the fourth book, part 1 and we get to follow what happens in the last book. More secrets are unraveled and more friends turn to foes. With the students and school gone they now have to figure out how to save everyone, but can they really fix everything this time? Or will this time break them for good?
This series if you love a good YA/new adult (not sure which) romantasy then check this one out! I absolutely LOVE it and can highly recommend giving it a try. There’s never a dull moment but do keep in mind, this part is a longer one! Do I care? No! I will now dive back in and use my last few hours to start at least to listen to the next part!

The group returns to find Katmere has been destroyed and everyone kidnapped by Cyrus. The group travels to the frozen realm of the gargoyle army and trains with them. They journey to Florida to compete for an elixir to heal the Gargoyle army of an ancient venom. Meanwhile, Cyrus has built a machine to transform him into a god during an eclipse, using the group’s powers. At the end, Grace’s memories are restored. I love the way Graphic Audio records stories!!!

Vampires, werewolves, dragons and witches, oh my! I love all the action in this supernatural world, as well as watching Grace become the gargoyle queen! Listening to a full cast in the graphic audio rendition makes it even better! On to the next book in the Crave series!
