2.75 - i've enjoyed every other book in this series but this one didn't hit as hard for me. every aspect felt rushed and the chemistry was lacking. also springing bdsm on a young girl who's sexually inexperienced without any form of foreplay or easing her into it? that just wasn't it babe...

We’ve already met carnival workers Lars, Cade, Phoenix and Gage, and now it’s time we got up close and personal with owner/ringmaster Tyson. Ty’s also the boss of the drug trafficking operation that runs behind the scenes of the carnival. Pulling into the latest stop for the traveling show, the guys have several orders to fulfill, the largest belonging to Mafia leader Jimmy. Jimmy brings his daughter Sofia to a meeting and Tyson is immediately taken with the brittle beauty. He decides she’s his despite her engagement to another crime boss. Sofia wants nothing more than to escape the arranged marriage and the gilded cage she’s been trapped in her entire life, but could this crazy-obsessive and possessive man hold the key to her freedom?
I loved this latest release from Selena’s carnival series. The men of the carnival are varying degrees of unhinged but all have a single-minded fixation on their women. Breaking and entering, kidnapping, stalking … nothing is over the line for these guys. Tyson is deliciously dominant and he and Sofia continually up the ante, including degradation, bondage and CNC. Ty’s delighted that his “good girl” is so responsive and meets him kink for kink.
When I’m in the mood for unhinged, obsessed, controlling, fabulously filthy alpha males, Selena is my go-to. I cannot wait for Nash/Colt/Flora’s story (I hope it’s next!) and Remy’s (the voyeurism scene in this book was 🔥). This series is a wild ride I hope never ends!

I loved this latest release from Selena’s carnival series. The men of the carnival are varying degrees of unhinged but all have a single-minded fixation on their women. Breaking and entering, kidnapping, stalking … nothing is over the line for these guys. Tyson is deliciously dominant and he and Sofia continually up the ante, including degradation, bondage and CNC. Ty’s delighted that his “good girl” is so responsive and meets him kink for kink.

As Sasha and Tyson grow closer, the risk becomes greater. And the entire underground carnival operation is at stake. Can they find a way to be together without sacrificing the livelihood of the whole carnival?

REVIEW:
I liked this one. It was very different from the others in the series, though, which could be good or bad depending on your preferences.
It is still a little dark, but Tyson is much tamer and normal when compared to some of the other carnival psychos we've seen in this series. Not only does he give her some space to choose him for herself (he doesn't fake her death, kidnap her, and tie her to his bed for weeks like some people). But he also gives her safe words during rough sex, and seems big on consent. Which isn't so much what we saw in the previous books in the series.
I'm the type of reader that can appreciate both types of MMC's. I like to sometimes read MMC's who are a bit unhinged and psycho. But I also like MMC's who appreciate boundaries and consent. It just depends on my mood, really. So I did like Tyson. It was just a surprise the type of MMC he was. I do like that the author has tried to write a different type of MMC for this book.
I also liked Sasha. She's struggled with feeling duty-bound and being a bit beaten down emotionally. But I liked how Tyson helped her to find her inner strength and confidence. He brought out the best in her.
Another thing I liked about this one is the slightly larger plot arc going on in the background. The story seemed more well-rounded and layered.
But I do think that the book was a bit too long. It wasn't a long book, but there were times when the pacing dragged and I would've liked a slightly shorter, more fast paced story.
Overall I liked this one. It's different and a little less dark than the previous books in the series. But I liked it.

So, Carnival Monster was the first I read of this series, and I did enjoy it to an extent. Carnival Stalker was my second read. I was curious about that one, but I ended up rating it 1-star because I didn’t like the content. It was tough to get through.
I was looking forward to Carnival Master, but it fell short for me. Out of the three MMCs I read about, Tyson was by far the best. I loved how nurturing he was, but unfortunately, after reading the others, the writing got to me with the repetitive phrasing throughout and in every story, like “pistoning my hips” and “she’s so responsive” to name just two. These are used so much that it’s glaring.
The story also didn’t have much plot for being bigger longer than the other two stories I read.
Then there were issues I found throughout that also lowered the reading experience for me. For example: I don’t recall a character named Remy mentioned in any of the stories I read and then suddenly he appeared in Chapter 28. Also, page 168, there’s missing dialogue. We have Sofia saying there’s no way out. Then her heart skips a beat, and she says, “What do you mean?” We’re missing whatever Ty said. Unfortunately because of my experience with this one and Carnival Stalker, I have no interest in reading the others.
I donated my paperback to a Little Free Library, though. Maybe a dark romance girlie will find it and like it.

This story centers around a woman named Sofia who is a mafia princess. Her father is named Jimmy Moretti and he is definitely not a good guy. He is very mean to his daughter. He is arranging to have his daughter marry a guy that is also not a nice guy.
Sofia meets Tyson who is the Carnival master in the town that the carnival is at. The carnival is a front for their drug running. Tyson and the other guys who work at the carnival are also involved in the drug running. Sofia meets Tyson and he allows her to feel that she doesn’t live in a gilded cage. He is protective of her and he is crazy about her. They share some very spicy 🌶️ moments together in and out of bed. He has a piercing on a certain part of body and he has tattoos. Sofia begins to like how possessive he is of her. Tyson learns of how mean her father is and of the guy she is supposed to marry. Tyson kills the guy she is supposed to marry and he arranges to set up her father with the other guys at the carnival. This book also has a little exhibitionism in it. This book was spicy 🌶️ 🌶️🌶️🌶️ and had violence in it. I liked reading this book.

One of the better books in the Carnival series. The plot and characters have more depth. We have seen and heard of Tyson throughout the series and we finally get to see what he is all about. The added length definitely helped put the story together.
There is a variety of spice and plenty of it.

Even though Sofia wants Tyson just as much as he wants her, she has been offered to another crime family in an arranged marriage and cannot walk away. This is a great continuation of the series which holds a lot of heat, drama and suspense as the whole operation is threatened, and all the guys must come together with their unique skills to save not only it but also their friend. We finally get to know Tyson after all these books! I was excited to see how unhinged he was going to be. He doesn't disappoint at all. Tyson is the owner and ringleader of the carnival and the head of the drug running business they do on the side. He is making a deal with a mobster, and in walks his daughter. Obsession unlocked, even if she is supposed to be forbidden. Tyson will go to all kinds of lengths to have her and keep her. Tyson has no boundaries when it comes to keeping her and his family safe. Again, love how all the characters from the previous books make an appearance and are involved with parts of this book. The spice was spicy as well. I love the growth in Sofia. She grows so much with Tyson by her side. Perfect match!

I have loved every book in this series so far! To be honest I have loved everything I have read by this author 😍 This book revolves around Tyson, the carnival ring master, he finds his obsession, and will stop at nothing to make her his, even risk his own life at the hands of her mobster father.
Sofia is the perfect Mob princess, she does as she's told, wears what they tell her to, and she will marry who ever her father chooses. Baby girl 🎡🫠🎡 I’ve been not very patiently waiting, craving this story about Tyson from the carnival series! Selena has me wrapped around her finger. I can’t get enough of her dark romances. Sophia and Tyson are perfect! The way Tyson worships her like a goddess, making Sophia finally feel as though she’s perfect. Unlike her betrothed, Paulie, who degrades her every chance he can. I loved how we finally get the grand picture of the operations behind the scenes of the carnival.🎡 Obsessive dark romance with lots of heat and drama!.

Ugh so good. was so excited and felt like i waited forever for Ty’s story. Was slightly disappointed. This one was good don’t get me wrong, i f***ing love Ty and the romance but felt like it was missing something the other stories had but i cant figure out what, it just didn’t captivate me as much. I loved getting to see all the guys more in this book and their dynamics working together. My only issue i can think of is the writing inconsistencies… There were quite a few in this one, i felt this story wasn’t written as well as the others. Which is a shame because i was looking forward to this book the most. Overall still loved it and cant wait to read the next.

Sofia becomes a bada$$ when she falls for Tyson and how he treats her like a person and not property. She's been jaded for so long and arranged to be with another monster like her father. Tyson is her knight, and she's his queen. I loved the BD$M that was added to this story, along with much more plot than previous books.

This book....this book was by far my most favorite so far! Tyson risked everything to save Sofia from the clutches of her father and her fiancé. Nobody appreciated her for who she truly was, except for Ty. He saw her true beauty, not just who she pretended to be for appearances sake. The BDSM aspect seems a bit off though. Someone as inexperienced as Sofia doesn't just get thrown straight in to the hardcore stuff. There is a gradual increase due to the body's limitations. I feel her body wouldn't be able to handle some of the things that Tyson does to her immediately. Over-all, extremely happy with this book. It seems to have much more of a storyline than any of the others.

This book is a little bit different from the others in this series, and as good. It has depth and layers. The MMC is obsessed with the FMC and she sees how good life can be, and that together they can plan a future. I don’t see this happening in real life, but it’s nice to imagine that it would. This book was articulated so well. It was easy to follow. It had plenty of yummy spice. I love this particular brand of carnies. They are all obsessed, loving and caring to their chosen one. I loved this book and the series. I read/listened to this book and the narrators were fantastic. I would definitely recommend this book.

I'm such a sucker for these books and carnival men. I love how there is all seperate books yet they all connect but can be read as a standalone.
I was wondering when we would get a tyson book and i'm so glad that i've gotten to read more about him. I love how his just like the other carnival men, obsessive and possessive yet oh so protective and loving. The spice was to die for. I mean diving into these books you always get plenty of spice and plenty of triggers. Read the triggers or dont up to you but definitely read this!

4.5 stars for Tyson and Sofia's story.
Tyson, the Ring Master, (for more than just the circus) and Sofia the Mafia Princess. She was supposed to be married off to another mafia family, to a man who abused her already as just being a fiancé. When Tyson sees her he feels that he has to have her, and he does get his chance. She sees him as a way out of a life she doesn't want.
There is so much more in this story than the others and twists I didn't see. This has the spicy heat, drama, violence and twists all over.

This one was a little different, deeper, riskier and more involved. Ty and Sofia burn bright together and they know them together spells trouble for everything they care about and can’t help but risk it all anyway. Over the top in all ways this was fantastic read. Part of a series told from dual POV reading the past books is not strictly necessary as this one can be read on its own.

Master indeed! 🔥
Selena Winters has easily become one of my fave authors. The carnie series is my favorite reads. When I saw Carnival Master had come out, I didn’t bother with the blurb. This was great! I’ve read the many lives they lead but I always felt Tyson was different. But then again, they are unique in their own way. This was hard to put down, and I can’t wait for the next one! I definitely recommend if you’re looking for a master. 😉😉

November 27, 2024I loved this book with all my dark little heart. It had everything I need and more. Please read the trigger warning, it does say that this is a dark stalker romance. I could not put this book down. I loved Tyson and Sofia. The spice was everything!!!! Super super hot and spicy. The plot was good. I definitely can't wait for the next one!!!!.

Sofia, the daughter of a mafia boss, falls for Tyson, the circus ringmaster. Just as dark as the other Carnival books with dramas aplenty. Tyson may not be quite as unhinged as the previous guys, but he's still just as determined, obsessed and possessed by his woman from the moment he lays eyes on her, doing anything to prove it. If it has Selena's name on it, just read it!!.

Tyson and Sophia. Shes a mobsters daughter and hes the carnivals ringmaster. But shes been promised to another. And the carnival has ties to the mob.
Drama, suspense, intrigue, danger, twists & turns and a very dark delicious dangerous alpha male that will stop at nothing to have the one he wants. I cant say enough about this author and her stories. Cant get enough. If you havent read her you are missing out.
