Will Wyn be able to melt the ice around her husband’s heart? Join these two on their journey to find the true meaning of the season.
Wyn and Kari's story was so cute. I love how the their kiss sealed the fate of their marriage. Bakari was so icy and a jerk in the beginning but I swear he grows on you. Wyn reminded me of myself. She is a lover and she loves hard. She definitely chiseled the ice from his heart piece by piece. The climax of the story had me on the edge of my seat. This was a great arranged marriage that developed into beauty.
This is a good book. Solid writing, fun FMC and a great quick read. I just didn’t connect with the MMC he switched up too quickly for me. But overall a fun read
This was so cute if you are in the holiday mood and you like a little drama, a little suspense, a little gangsta love get this or get into this right now! This is my first read by Kami and she did not disappoint!
3.00 Stars. (BW/BM). Kindle $2.99/ 112 page novella e-book. SETTING: Twenty-first Century USA TROPE: Marriage of Convenience. Forced proximity. MAIN CHARACTERS: 1. Bakari Holidae, male lead, is taking the reins of his family's Black Mafia organization. 2. Wyn Halo, female lead, is the 24-year-old virginal socialite who struggles with vitiligo. 3. Bazil and Evangeline Holidae are Bakari's parents. 7. Bilal his Bakari's deceased brother 8. Braylen and Brielle are Bakari and Wyn's twins.
This was a cute okay story with a bit of drama and a hero who was not as cold or uncaring as the summery suggested. Wyn and Bakari enter into a marriage of convenience because Bazil Holiday and Wynston Halo are aging and Wynston is ill. Their family's union with Bakari as the head will cement their standing with the Black Grove Mafia. Neither of the protagonist wanted to marry but neither protested the union and willingly entered into the five year duration; but life happens and they quickly fall in love.
Bakari hates Christmas. He’s hated it ever since he lost his favorite person. So, he doesn’t intend to celebrate it or allow love in his heart until he’s forced to by the most unexpected person…his wife. Yeah, the same wife he was forced to marry. The same wife he swore he wouldn’t give his heart to. Yet, when he lifted the veil on his wedding day, he was struck with her beauty.
Wyn is terrified of her husband. He’s mean and grumpy, constantly giving hot and call. Yet, every kiss shocks them both. Neither expected to feel this way about each other. Especially since they are complete strangers. This book was so cute. Wyn really made Bakari believe in love and the spirit of Christmas again.
Ok hear me out lol Bakari wasn’t really mean. He just didn’t know how to open his heart after losing his brother. Wyn Halo was placed into an arranged marriage deal due to her father's illness. The marriage unites their families and safeguards their legacies. Bakari Holidae gave my man my man energy. They both may have been against the idea but the kiss at the wedding sealed the deal. I was happy to see they didn’t give up on one another. Wyn genuinely being her loving self helped this marriage reach new levels. Wyn melted the ice around her husband’s heart and helped heal his heart. They sealed the deal so much they ended up having three children lol. This was a beautifully written book.
Hmmm 🤔, now I understand why some of these characters sound so familiar? I read this book last year, 2023’. Nevertheless, 2024 new cover “Promised To The Snowman (The Snowman Series - Book 7) was a good holiday read. Initially awkward but eventually humorous competitive banter between the young Holidae couple as they acclimate to their new family life. Bakari & Wyn’s arrangement was an adjustment (for both) but worked out to be a double holiday blessing & promise fulfilled. …and a spare baking🤭🎄‼️
I definitely could have read a full novel about Wyn and Bakari. The author did a great job giving us enough information to understand the full story and tied it all up with a nice little epilogue.
I would love to hear more about this family. There was a hint about Hassan and Makani (I think that was her name), so maybe?
This was such a cute love story and I thoroughly enjoyed the way Wyn decided to get under Bakari’s skin under the advice of her friend!!!… I definitely shifted his behavior and opened his mind and heart more to her!!!… He was attracted to her, but was afraid of opening up and admitting it!!!… I love how they enjoyed and decided to explore the relationship/marriage for what it can be!!!…
Grumpy/Sunshine with an arranged marriage during Christmas!!! Add in vitiligo representation and sibling grief, and Kami packed so much emotion into just 106 pages!
Wyn and Bakari were beautiful. ❤️🥰 Their dynamic had the perfect push and pull—her light brought out his warmth in a way that made this the perfect holiday read.
And listen… I’m absolutely hoping we get a Milani and Hassan story next!
🧊💗What happens to a grinch's ice cold heart when they find the right one to warm and melt it?
📚: This was a yummy Winter/Holiday Novella Snack! Bakari & Wyn made me kick my feet, giggle, cackle and almost made me throw my kindle all at the same time during this read!
📖You can't go wrong with this read if you love the following: Mr. Grinch that hates Christmas Vibes, Holiday Vibes, FMC loves Christmas Vibes, Arranged Marriage, Protector Vibes, Back & Forth toe to toe banter!
I gave this book a 3.75/5. I am also realizing that the Scrooge MC trope is becoming a favorite. Wyn agrees to enter into an arranged marriage with Bakari to help her family. Straight off the bat, Bakrari is a jerk. A jerk with SOOOOO much audacity. I couldn't stand him in the beginning.
As quickly as novellas move, his personality did a little shift and he turned out to not be full jerk. Of course he swears up and down that his heart is off limits and that the marriage is a marriage for show. And of course Wyn said she ain't having that and he better get with the program or get with the program lol.
Promised To The Snowman is a fast paced arranged marriage mob story with a grumpy sunshine trope — everything I love in a romance novel. Add in the Christmas element and I was sat. I quickly read this engaging story with lovable characters. This is a solid 4 star read. hig recommend Promised To The Snowman.
Loved Wyn! She was not a girl to be pushed around. Arranged marriage and grumpy sunshine are two of my favorite tropes and this short story gave me the best of both worlds!
Short stories can be hard to do bc authors have to make it as realistic as possible, at a faster pace. Kami did that well and I hope to enjoy some other stories from her catalog.
I’m soooo happy that there wasn’t too much back & forth between Bakari & Wyn! She came into the arrangement open minded & he started off a jerk. She showed she could be childish & he the protector. Both end up falling hard & fast!!! I loved the dynamic for sure!!!!
🌟🌟🌟.75 Bakari and Wyn were set to be married arranged by their parents. Wyn was determined to put her foot down and be respected while Bakari was determined to keep his grumpy persona and his heart closed. I enjoyed the banter between the two. This story was set around Christmas time and was cute but felt rushed around the 75% mark.
I absolutely enjoyed this book from start to finish. I was hooked. I loved the energy that they both put forward with this being an arranged marriage. It took some time for them to grow into each other and once they did, it was beautiful. 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
usually, in this kind of story, the woman is all broken and sad and gets walked all over and nobody’s protecting her, but this one was different. I like that five stars.
I love Bakari and Wyn. The both of them are alike in so many ways. I am happy that Bakari opened his heart to his wife. She is definitely a keeper. I can't believe they are expecting their third child. Such a beautiful and happy couple. Great Read!
I am speechless. I didn't know exactly what I was getting into with this read. I just knew it was an arranged marriage with a Christmas vibe. I really enjoyed this and will read others from this author.
Wyn & Bakari…. Wyn & Bakari!! This was such a good story! I enjoyed the way Bakari protected Wyn once they got over their “miscommunication” phase and took a chance on one another.
I enjoyed this book a lot! This gave me a great grumpy/sunshine trope! He was so mean and Wyn was determined to make the best of their situation! Their love story was cute and cozy! Overall a great short Christmas novella.
This gave me all the feels. Loved how they grew together as one and fell for each other despite the circumstances. The arrangement was a blessing/miracle in disguise.
Such a sweet story. And funny. I laughed a lot and appreciate the warmth of the story. Wyn for the win man. Yeah for the strong, unorganized women who run things. The grinch caved and was all in. Good one
I actually love Christmas stories. This was the perfect novella involving arranged marriages. I actually like when the husband is grumpy. I think it’s cute.
