The woman I’m destined to love is the one I’ve sworn to destroy.
As the last leader of the Orion Pack, I’ve spent years hunting down the ones responsible for my pack’s downfall. The curse that destroyed us all has one source—the rival Heraclid pack that thrives while mine lies in ruins.
Now, my mission is find the oracle wolf with the power to break me and end her.
But when I finally track her down, our bond is undeniable.
She’s the oracle—betrothed to my enemy’s son, her powers bound and her wolf silenced. She claims her pack controls her, that they’ve lied to me. But all I see is the key to my suffering.
I should end her, but every instinct in me screams one word.
Mine.
I’ve been deceived before, and I can’t afford another betrayal. Yet, with every touch, every look, I want nothing more than to protect her.
If anyone tries to harm her, they’ll face the full fury of the hunter wolf I am—because if she’s truly mine, no one will take her from me.
Not even the curse that might consume us both.

The Cursed Wolf King is the first book in the Shadow Moon Shifters series, including wolf shifters and other paranormal elements for readers 18+. There is an HEA for the main couple but the overall story will span several books, so be ready for some cliffhangers! Don't worry, they will all get nicely sorted out at the end :-)
Harley Hunt has always had a soft spot for dark forests, full moons, and heroes with a hint of danger. When not dreaming up steamy paranormal worlds, Harley can be found sipping wine during sunset, savoring French cheese, and spoiling a very sweet Golden Retriever (definitely not a werewolf).
Harley’s first book, The Cursed Wolf King, kicks off a gripping wolf-shifter romance series—a tale of forbidden love, fierce loyalty, and the kind of passion that bites back.
Welp, gobbled this down in a day! That should tell you how captivated I was! I loved that we right jump right into the action and tension, no messing around. Fated mates are always enjoyable, but the fact that this was a standalone and we still have a great balance of emotional depth within 400 pages, fantastic! Easy to read, very entertaining, worth adding to your tbr for some pining 😍
I thoroughly enjoyed this first book in this series from this new author. I requested it through Book Sirens and am so glad that I did. I don't tend to pick up paranormal/fantasy romance books as I go for urban fantasy usually, but this was such a great read!
This book shares the point of view from both of the main characters and I loved reading the events from both of their perspectives! Eve is an oracle wolf, kept more or less a prisoner by the Heraclid pack, forced to give out curses for the rival Orion pack, but her visions only show her one thing - a man, to whom she is drawn immensely. Logan, the alpha of the Orion pack, is trying everything he can to work out why his pack, which was once the most powerful of all the werewolf packs, is failing, why no more pups are being born and where on earth his lost brothers have gotten to.
When both of the MCs see each other, the sparks instantly fly! They both cannot forget how the other made them feel, but fated mates don't exist any more, right? Logan will stop at nothing to find Eve, to save her from her constant torment at the hands of the Heraclids alpha and his son, but at the same time, now he knows that she is supposedly the reason for the curse on his pack, he should end her. Yet he can't...
I loved Eve and Logan's story - the turmoil that Logan goes through over what he should do to save his pack versus what he needs to do for his heart was heart wrenching. By reading about them together, you could tell they would do anything for each other, but Eve found it harder to trust, to let go of all her past trauma and her past feelings to let herself trust Logan and his wolf fully, but when she did the results were amazing! Together they are such an incredibly force, both strong alphas in their own right, but better together! And all the other wolves could see this too.
The writing was just brilliant too - the perfect pace for me, with enough action to balance out the romance. I got very tense in the alpha fight though and couldn't possibly see any result that didn't give me what I wanted, until Eve stepped in! Her understanding of the wolf bonds allowed her to do something that I hadn't thought was possible!
I can't wait to read the next book in this series, which will focus on Rhys, Logan's brother and second in the pack and one of the female wolves we meet this one.
As I turned the last page of *The Cursed Wolf King* by Harley Hunt, I found myself utterly captivated by this tale of love, betrayal, and the complex world of wolf shifters. The narrative unfolds through the eyes of the tormented protagonist, the last leader of the Orion Pack, who grapples with loyalty and desire in an unforgiving world.
From the very beginning, I was drawn into the depths of his turmoil. He is on a relentless quest to hunt down those who have caused his pack's destruction, and his vendetta against the rival Heraclid pack is palpable. It's heartbreaking to see a character so consumed by vengeance and pain, yet there’s a magnetic pull to his journey that I couldn't resist.
The Oracle, the woman fated to be his mate, is a fascinating character as well. Betrothed to his enemy’s son, her powers are suppressed, leaving her in a tragic situation. The moment he finds her, I felt the tension between them crackle with undeniable chemistry. It’s a classic tale of forbidden love, yet the author has crafted their dynamic in a way that feels fresh and engaging. Every time they interact, I could feel the internal struggle within the protagonist, battling his instincts to protect versus his desire to destroy.
What I appreciated most was the emotional depth that the author infused into the story. The protagonist's conflict — wanting to end the Oracle but finding himself drawn to her — is portrayed beautifully. His vulnerability and fierce determination to not trust again tugged at my heartstrings, making me root for him even as he faced the consequences of his choices.
The supernatural elements and the lore surrounding the shifter world were richly detailed, which allowed me to become fully immersed in this universe. The stakes felt real, and I found myself invested in both the character’s personal journey and the broader conflict between the packs.
In conclusion, *The Cursed Wolf King* is more than just a romantic fantasy; it’s a gripping tale of fate, redemption, and the struggle between love and duty. The author spins a compelling yarn that left me eagerly anticipating the next installment.
If you're a fan of forbidden romances with a blend of action and emotional depth, this book is definitely worth a read!
I came across this after reading the cupid one that this author co-wrote and had somewhat low expectations but thought the premise sounded promising. This ended up being a let down though - the world and characters are so incredibly underdeveloped. I'm not sure why I should care at all. I realize this is a fluffy/entertaining romance, so again my expectations were not high, but the lack of depth and purpose made this hard to enjoy.
Eve (FMC) is an oracle and is being held by her current pack in terrible conditions. They hate her and only bring her out for her visions. The writing is a bit incomplete here - but I think she can somehow put curses on people/groups of people (somehow connected to her visions?). Her alpha keeps trying to force her to curse this other pack but she doesn't want to because a guy in her visions (of that same pack) seems... nice...?
Eve makes a bunch of attempts to escape her pack. During one of those attempts she meets Logan (alpha of the rival pack she's supposed to curse). It's love at first sight sniff - she smells like apples and spices, which calls to Logan's wolf. His wolf claims her as his fated mate and is instantly obsessed. Logan isn't mad about it - he ends up killing on her behalf - and everything is very messy. Eve's on the run again. A witch Logan randomly meets at a coffee shop tells him that he needs to kill Eve to end the curse on his pack. Logan believes the random witch and decides he needs to kill Eve. There's also this side plot of Eve being a very special type of wolf (because ofc).
I had to stop around that point. Eve and Logan aren't developed enough to be remotely likeable. Eve just sort of stumbles around and smells like apples. Logan wants to be a good alpha. That's all I know about them, and I'm not interested in learning more.
“Whatever happens, know that your bond is stronger than your curse.”
Had the privilege of receiving an ARC of this book! It was a bit slow at the beginning but once you get to chapter 10 things start to pick up! I still have a lot of questions that weren’t answered and some of the character motivations were a bit confusing. Maybe as the series progresses and we learn more about the world those questions will be answered! 😌

I love me a good shifter romance. I was hooked literally 10% in and it just kept building. It was very easy to get wrapped up in the story and characters. The one thing that brought my rating down to a 4 star was there was a heavy use of miscommunication between the MCs. It had me raging for a while. I loved the power balance between the MCs as well. They balanced each other and neither of them could be there best selves without the other. I love that. They needed to be true partners in order for the right outcomes to happen. Im very curious where this story goes.

The Cursed Wolf King is a paranormal romance with an amazing plot line and a dash of spice. I only recently started diving into paranormal romances, but so far, I keep hitting the jackpot with these.
Eve is our FMC, who is an oracle wolf and currently being used by her wolf pack to curse a rival pack. She can not control her visions, but the same male keeps haunting them. Who is he?
Logan is our alpha wolf MMC from said rival pack and is trying to keep the spirit and respect of his wolf pack alive and intact. Something bigger is coming, and he is unsure if it's for the best or the worst. One thing is for sure: the woman he keeps seeing in his dreams is the answer. Who is she?
The Cursed Wolf King was a fun journey, and the author kept the story moving at a comfortable pace. It gives us a resolution for our new pack, but we see that book #2 will have to answer more questions for our MMC/FMC.
For those who enjoy: Fated mates Shifters Forbidden love Slow burn "Who did this to you?" Enemy turned protector
I received an ARC of The Cursed Wolf King for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Firstly, let me start by saying the vibes of this book are immaculate. Wolf shifters: check. Oracles: check. Witches, elves: check! This has everything you can expect from a wolf shifting story - packs, alphas, betas, everything can be scented. The world building was quite light in this book, and I look forward to understanding more about this world and hopefully about different magical species as the series goes on.
I thoroughly enjoyed the love story between the Eve and Logan, and I liked the dual POV so we could get plenty of insight into both of their perspectives and thoughts. Their relationship felt real and progressed at a good pace.
This book didn't feel like it had super high stakes, but there were enough to keep me intrigued and hope for a happy ending. I'm looking forward to reading the next book in this series!
The Cursed Wolf King by Harley Hunt was my first read for this author and did not disappoint. This was a sold 4/5 stars and although it was a slow burn the heated scenes between Eve and Logan were worth the wait. Some of my favorite tropes were fated mates, slow burn, shifter romance, big misunderstanding, and this book was full of protective alpha male energy aka “touch her and ☠️” . Logan was the alpha of the Orion pack who was struggling to return to its formal glory. Eve was an abused oracle wolf who was plagued by the traumas of her past and her inability to shift into her wolf. Following the twists and turns of this story was exhilarating and gripping. The best is no cliffhangers! I loved the (HEA) happy ever after for Eve & Logan. I can’t wait to hear Rhys story that is still to come.
A powerful story of obsession and subjugation and cruelty that gives way to strength and love and completion. Eve suffers through so much cruelty and hatred that when her fated shows up she has no idea what to do but every time she tries to run she is brought back. Logan no longer believes in fated mates so when he comes across Eve it takes his wolf to make him understand. Orion still has a long ways to go but they are on the right path to strength and to finding the lost ones.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Wolf shifter stories have a special place in my heart!! This book was unexpected and I loved it. Logan and Eve fight for what is right and find each other through impossible odds. I can only see this series getting stronger. I'm incredibly happy to have read this as an ARC and can't wait for more stories from Harley.
The Cursed Wolf King is book 1 of the Shadow Moon Shifters. I loved this story ans couldn't put it down. Great storyline, great characters and alot of emotion.
I am a huge wolf shifters romantasy fan and I have to say this book hit the spot! The main characters are very likable, and neither outshines the other. Obviously fated mates is a different kind of love story with less love development because there is an instantaneous connection but that truly is the pull here! The main characters Eve and Logan have a fated mates love that makes you care so deeply for their connection and root for them to find answers and take the lead in their wolf communities. This book was great and if you love shifters and fated mates it’s definitely for you!! I’m am so glad to have received an ARC for this book!
If you've ever devoured a book with shaking hands, whispering “just one more chapter” at 2 a.m. while your heart is in absolute chaos—The Cursed Wolf King is that kind of read. And honestly? It gripped me from page one and did not let go.
This book gave me everything I crave in a shifter romance—vengeance, fated mates, twisted loyalties, and that feral, “touch her and die” energy that makes my heart race and my soul swoon. But what really got me was how deeply personal the emotional pull felt. I wasn’t just reading about two enemies tangled in prophecy and betrayal—I was them.
The Cursed Wolf King himself? Whew. He’s pure fury, pure alpha, pure broken. His grief, his rage, that bone-deep hunger for vengeance—it all poured off the page. I felt his loss like a bruise. And when he found her—his mate, the oracle he was destined to destroy—I swear, my heart cracked right alongside his.
And her? The oracle? I loved her the moment she refused to cower, even when bound and silenced and ripped from everything she once trusted. She's strong in that quiet, aching way—the kind of strength that comes from enduring, from surviving the people who were supposed to protect her. I rooted for her with everything in me.
Their bond wasn’t just electric—it was agonizingly beautiful. The push and pull. The mistrust, the need, the longing. The who did this to you moment? Yeah, that one nearly destroyed me. There’s just something about a man who doesn’t just protect, but worships through his fury and fear of loss. 🖤
And the worldbuilding? Gorgeous and raw. The curse, the blood ties, the ancient grudges—it all simmers beneath the romance, adding layers of tension and mystery I can’t wait to see unravel in the next books.
I’ll admit it—I am obsessed. I didn’t just enjoy this book, I felt it. In my chest. In my gut. In the way I now side-eye the moon, wondering if she’s hiding fated chaos behind every soft glow.
Harley Hunt, you gave me everything I didn't know I needed—a cursed king, a betrayed queen-in-the-making, and a love so fierce it burns through prophecy. Book two can’t come fast enough. 🐺💔🔥
If you love enemies-to-lovers, fated mates who fight fate, and a dark romance with claws and consequences—this book belongs on your shelf.
The Cursed Wolf King is a phenomenal wolf shifter romance which is captivating from start to finish. The story is quite suspenseful and a page turning wolf shifter romance. I absolutely did NOT want to set the book down until I read the last page. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this fabulous book. The characters of this book are well developed and phenomenally executed throughout the story. The Cursed Wolf King follows the adventures of Eve and Logan. The chemistry between these two characters is absolutely phenomenal and breathtakingly beautiful. I thoroughly adored getting to know both Eve and Logan as well as seeing the feelings they have for each other grow stronger as the story progressed. I absolutely love that these two characters have a happily ever after with them being happy together as a fated mates. I’m looking forward to reading the next book in this phenomenal series. I would HIGHLY recommend this book to anyone who loves reading wolf shifter romances.

He's destined to love one single woman, and yet that same woman is the same one he's sworn to destroy.
He's the leader of the Orion Pack, and he's spent the last several years hunting down the ones responsible for his pack's downfall. There's a curse that destroyed them all, and it had only one source – the rival Heraclid pack. It is thriving while his pack pack is lying in ruins.
His mission is now to find this oracle wolf, the one with the power to break him and to end her once and for all.
Everything changes when he finally tracks her down. He then finds out that their bond is beyond undeniable.
Not only is she the oracle, but she's also engaged to the son of his enemy, someone has bound her powers, and lastly, her wolf is silent. She keeps saying over and over that her pack is controlling her, that her pack is lying to her. All he see's though is that she is the one that can end my suffering.
He knows that he should end her once, and for all, it would be for the best. His instincts are at war with his mind, though. His instincts are screaming one word at him
MINE
He's been down the road of deception before, and he knows he can't afford to be betrayed yet again. Yet, every time she touches him, with every look, he wants nothing more than to protect her and keep her safe.
He's decided that if anyone tries to hurt her, lay a single finger on her, they will face the fury of the hunter wolf that he is – if she's really and truly his, he's not going to let anyone take her from him, no matter the cost.
That includes the curse that could consume them both if they're not careful.
If you like the following tropes: Forbidden Romance, Fated Mates, Who Did This To You?, Pack Royalty with Pack Reject, Enemy-Turned-Protector then you will not want to miss out on reading The Cursed Wolf King.
The Cursed Wolf King A Fated Mates Forbidden Romance by Harley Hunt is the first book in the new Shadow Moon Shifters series. It includes wolf shifters and other some other paranormal elements and is meant for readers over the age of 18. There will be an HEA for the main couple. The overall story, though, will span several books, so be prepared for some cliffhangers! Please don't worry. Everything is going to get sorted out in the end.
The Cursed Wolf King is the first book in the new Shadow Moon Shifters series by Harley Hunt, and boy, is it a great start. It is full of action, romance, and all the supernatural tension you could ever ask for.
This story will follow Logan, who is the last leader of the Orion Pack. He's bound and determined to destroy the Heraclid Pack. This is the rival pack who is responsible for the curse that destroyed his own pack and left him on his own. Everything changes, and his world is left reeling when he suddenly comes to realize that the woman he is destined to love and protect with all his being is also the same woman that he's sworn to destroy.
I absolutely loved the story of Eve and Logan's love story. It's both captivating and so believable. I found it so touching and amazing. The sweet moments almost brought tears to my eyes. And yet, there were other moments there were full of tension and angst.
The dual POV added such an amazing touch, and it offered an insight into both Eve and Logan's emotions and motivations as their relationship unfolds. And I love that their relationship wasn't one of instalove, that it took time and unfolded at a steady pace. This allowed for the right amount of growth and so much emotional depth, and nothing ever felt rushed. You could feel the chemistry leaping off the page as it was undeniable, and you can't help but cheer them on even though they do have that curse hanging over them.
There is so much conflict between the two packs, Logan is on his quest for revenge, and he can't fight his feelings for Eve. All creates a perfect balance of action and emotion. There is such solid pacing and the perfect amount of intrigue that you are left wanting so much more by the end.
I have to say that The Cursed Wolf King is a fun, engaging, intriguing, spicy read from start to finish. There are well developed characters that have amazing storylines and character arcs. The sweet romance between our FMC and MMC is well written and well developed and paced. And there is a great intriguing, well written, and developed supernatural world. If you are looking for your next great paranormal romance that has emotion depth and a perfect amount of action, then this is one great book that is worth reading. I can't wait to read the next book in the series, and I would suggest that you read this one as soon as you can.
“The Cursed Wolf King” is the debut novel by Harley Hunt. It is a low-spice contemporary Paranormal Romance. I found that it was reminiscent of Romeo and Juliet. A few tropes include: “Who did this to you?”, fated mates, star-crossed lovers, and forbidden love. The novel takes place near Seattle, Washington. In this series, the wolf shifters reside on pack-lands allotted by the government (this is not discussed at length) that they have conquered/lost over time (depending on the pack). It is relatively low in spice at maybe 1.5 peppers. Greek mythology is incorporated in many components of this story. The two main packs in this story are “Orion” and “Heraclid,” and the characteristics of the mythological character influenced the traits of their pack. For example, the “Orion” pack is the Hunters. They are intuitive, resourceful, and renowned. The “Heraclid” pack describes themselves as Warriors, known for brute strength. There are also Oracles and other mythological characters that make an appearance in the story. Our FMC is an abused outcast from the Heraclid pack. She is an oracle for Heraclid, having been so since her mother mysteriously disappeared after taking her from their home. She has an ingrained lack of trust that will follow her through the story, but so does her courage. She often chooses to do the right thing regardless of the possible impact it may have on her. Our MMC, Logan, is the Alpha of the Orion pack. He has spent years watching his pack decompose before his eyes. Two of his brothers have been kidnapped, his population has dwindled, and parts of his city are ghost towns. He tries to keep his town together. When he finds a woman on the edge of his forest, his thoughts and instincts turn to her. In my opinion, it did feel as though the book relied on back-and-forth moments for a great deal of the book, which felt drawn out. Characters went back and forth, characters went five steps and circumnavigated back to the first to start all over again. The last 60 pages of the book are heavy in action, love interest resolution, and plot. I will say that the big action scene drew me in so intensely I forgot to blink. There were several questions posed that weren’t explained in this book, which hopefully will be answered in the next book. This book does end in a cliffhanger for the overall story, but it does have a happily ever after for the couple of this story.

Tropes: Wolf shifters Forbidden Romance Fated Mates Who Did This To You? Pack life Pack Reject Uprising Arranged marriage
Spice: 🌶
I finished this book in around 5-6 hours, you turn the first page and you are throwing straight into the depth of the story and the awful life of eve 'the oracle'. About half way through it suddenly dawned on me that I was really enjoying this and I was worried there wasn't much book left so that's always a good sign.
The stakes were high and believable and you could feel the side characters motivations along with the main cast but some things weren't explained to well. Some characters did or said things that left the reader wondering more- if these things are explained in the next book then great but for now, I personally, am sat here thinking- well why did they xyz or what was the point in xyz...
The Oracle, the woman betrothed to his enemies son but fated to be his mate, is a really deep and well written fmc. As a woman with powers she is feared and therfore ill treated and abused. For reasons we do not know, her powers are suppressed but dont dont find out by who or how, this leaves her in a tragic situation and I expected to read about the 'magic key'to unlock her powers like finding her mate or standing up for herself or something but it's just never mentioned so I'm still sat here wondering about the why's of it all.
The moment our mmc smells her he has to find her, you can feel the tension between them and only one knows the truth of what these feelings mean. But Eve has suffered through so much cruelty and hatred that when she is shown kindness she has no clue what to do or how to react.
A fellow reviewer said this and I can't agree more- A powerful story of obsession and subjugation and cruelty that gives way to strength and love and completion.
Thank you to the author for allowing me a first peak into your book. I received a free copy of this book but trust me when I say I am a strict reviewer and these opinions are my own! Seriously, look at my other reviews, if a book doesn't cut it I am not afraid to let you know - being given the book for free doesn't change a thing. (Think of it like kindle unlimited, they're free too but that doesn't mean they are any good!)
This book dives headfirst into a dark and gripping world of forbidden romance and fated mates, delivering all the intense, raw passion the blurb promises. Logan, the cursed wolf king, and Eve, the oracle he's sworn to destroy but is instantly bonded to, have undeniable chemistry that burns hot from the start. The "enemy-to-protector" dynamic is executed well, making their connection instantly compelling. If you love that fierce "Mine" possessiveness and a dark supernatural setting, you'll definitely get your fix here. However, while the romance is a major strength, I found the world-building and pacing a little uneven. The core premise of the ancient curse, the rival packs, and the political intrigue is intriguing, but the details are often hinted at rather than fully explained, which left me feeling a little lost at times. The plot seems to revolve primarily around the relationship beats, with the larger fantasy elements taking a backseat or being used mainly to create relationship conflict. It's a fun, quick, and steamy read, and the author clearly knows how to write an emotionally charged bond. The ending does set up an exciting path for the series, but I finished the book wishing for more depth to the complex wolf society and the overall curse mythology. Overall: A great pick for readers who prioritize intense, fated-mates romance with high stakes, but perhaps less satisfying if you're looking for detailed, expansive fantasy world-building.

The Cursed Wolf King by Harley Hunt kicks off the Shadow Moon Shifters series with an intriguing mix of romance, action, and supernatural tension. The story follows Logan, the last leader of the Orion Pack, who is determined to destroy the Heraclid Pack—the rival pack responsible for the curse that destroyed his own. But his world is upended when he realizes the woman he’s destined to love is none other than the one he’s sworn to destroy.
The love story between Eve and Logan is both captivating and believable. The dual POV is a great touch, offering insight into both characters' emotions and motivations. Their relationship unfolds at a steady pace, allowing for growth and emotional depth without feeling rushed. The chemistry between them is undeniable, and you can’t help but root for their connection, despite the curse hanging over them.
The conflict between the packs, Logan’s quest for revenge, and his growing feelings for Eve create a nice balance of action and emotion. The pacing is solid, with just enough intrigue to leave you wanting more by the end.
Overall, The Cursed Wolf King is a fun and engaging start to the series, with well-developed characters, a sweet romance, and an intriguing supernatural world. If you’re looking for a paranormal romance that blends action with emotional depth, this one is definitely worth checking out. I’m looking forward to the next book in the series!
The Cursed Wolf King is the first book of the author’s Shadow Moon Series and a romance that grabbed my attention from the very first page. Wolf shifter romances are hit or miss for me but this one was a definite winner. From the day her mother abandoned her with the Heraclid pack MFC Eve’s life has been one of misery. Unable to shift to her wolf because of a bound to follow order from her mother to…never shift, and always treated as an outsider, she is only kept alive because of her value as an oracle for the pack. But for how much longer if she couldn’t give the alpha what he wanted, a vision of a rival pack the Orions destruction. MMC Logan leads the Orions, once a thriving community of shifters now plagued by no pregnancies, unexplained illnesses, and attacks from their borders. He who was descended from a royal line of shifters knows his pack family will become strong again, he just has to find the way. On the night of the shadow moon a path will be set for Logan and Eve, one that will bring them together in a story of passion, intrigue, action, adventure, twists, emotion, fated mates, and revelations. Wonderfully written and building step by step into a compelling, imaginative and immersive read their story will entertain as it races towards a thrilling conclusion.

The Cursed Wolf King was such a fun read! If you’re into werewolves and forbidden love with a sprinkle of growly chaos—you’re gonna love this one 🐺🔥
The pacing was great and kept things moving, with some solid bombshell moments along the way. A few twists definitely caught me off guard, but I do wish some of them were explored a bit more, they felt too juicy to be dropped and never mentioned again 👀
I really enjoyed Eve and Logan’s dynamic. I just wish we got to see more development between them as there was so much potential to forge a deeper connection to them 🖤
Also… Eve’s past? There are so many threads there that were teased but never fully pulled on. I had so many questions by the end and I'm hoping we get some explanations in the next book!
The pack dynamics added a really interesting layer. The loyalties, the rules, the dominance challenges, it made the story feel full and rich without being overwhelming. Loved the sense of tension and belonging clashing at every turn.
The ending did fall a little flat for me, especially after the build-up, but overall it still delivered on the drama and left me wanting more. I’m definitely going to be picking up the next book! ⚔️✨
Thank you to Harley Hunt for gifting me this brilliant book! All opinions remain my own.
I was hooked at fated mates! I love a fated mates story and The Cursed Wolf King didn't disappoint!
Eve is an oracle wolf, forced into a miserable existence for the use of her powers by a tyrant of an alpha in a vicious pack. But her visions keep drawing her down a different path toward someone she doesn't know. Logan is the alpha wolf of the rival pack to Eve's. He is strong and fair, but his pack is weakening. Told that Eve is the root of all his pack's troubles, he sets out to kill her. But is surprised at what he finds.
I'd say the book moved at a medium pace - not too slow but not fast, either. The tension wasn't unbearable, however, I did find myself several times hoping certain characters would get what was coming to them! I'd also give a 3 spice rating. I'm not usually a big reader of paranormal romance, but after reading the description, I really wanted to give it a try. I'm so glad I did! The Cursed Wolf King is book 1 of 4, and I'm already looking forward to seeing what happens in book 2!
The Cursed Wolf King is perfect for those who like: Fated Mates Forbidden Love Who did this to you? Wolf shifters
I definitely recommend reading The Cursed Wolf King!
This book was fantastic! Harley is an awesome world builder and she set the scene flawlessly. We meet Eve and she is not like all the other wolves; she sees visions and is being used by Grayson, the Alpha of the Heraclid pack in order to take down his biggest enemy the Orion pack who has seemed to have a curse on them for decades. Logan is the Alpha of the Orion pack and he is the complete opposite of Grayson. He values tradition and what it means to be a wolf. When he's told that the oracle from his enemy pack is the reason for his curse on his pack, he needs to choose to either end her or claim her as his.
The writing style of this book was very easy to follow and I could not put this book down. I found myself reaching for my kindle so I could find out what happened next. The book flowed so easily that I didn't realize I was almost done with it! The spice wasn't crazy intense, but I still got butterflies and those scenes were extremely sweet and full of emotion. There is mention of abuse inflicted and graphic death scenes so please just be aware. This book ends in a HEA, but there are questions that I NEED answered now!! I'm really excited to read book 2!.

This book showed potential if it can be worked on with the wider series. There are a lot of things that I didn’t understand/questions left unanswered, as this is a first book in a series I tend to reserve judgement and allow authors the time to answer those questions.
The world building needs work as I couldn’t really picture it, the Heraclid and Orion homes seemed older and more medieval while the human cities were clearly modern. I wasn’t really sure if this is an Amish village type situation but then they had gas lines.
The FMC’s story definitely has a lot more to be told and has good groundwork for future books.
There were many side characters and side stories that I hope play larger points in the series.
The MMC and FMC were an insta love, fated mates situation but there was also conflict and tension from early on too which helped to prolong their romance. I’d like to see more chemistry between them.

I have mixed feelings. The story had promise but I think it missed the mark a bit. Everything felt a little unfinished, redundant, or contradictory. The relationship between the FMC and MMC…felt rushed. I would say we were going for enemies to lovers and/or slow burn but all of a sudden they were in love but didn’t spend any significant time together. I get that they’re fated mates but still. The intimate scenes were strange. I’m minding my own business reading and there’s barely any cusses in book then BAM I get hit with explicit scenes and words. I don’t mind them but it didn’t flow with the rest of the book. Fade to black probably would have fit with the feel of this book. I also have so many questions. Her mom? The other packs? Random characters that show up say cryptic things, that never come to fruition or redundant and then they leave. The Great Separation? Why did it seem like every pack lived in a different era? The Crux? I need more World building. Hopefully book 2 will help fill the gaps.
