I was thirteen when a major earthquake hit while we were living in Chile. Sixty-five miles from the epicenter — close enough to matter. I've been fascinated by earthquakes ever since. Decades later, living along the Wasatch Fault in Utah, that fascination turned to research and a series of preparedness presentations that eventually turned into Earthquake! What, Where, and How to Prepare, and later Seismic Faultlines — a post-apocalyptic teen novel set in the Salt Lake Valley, in the shadow of one of the most dangerous fault systems in the country.
But the question that keeps me up at night isn't always about earthquakes.
Visiting Saqsaywaman (an ancient Incan fortress near Cusco) and Machu Picchu years ago, staring up at stones that had absolutely no business being where they were, I found myself asking: what if something extraordinary is hiding in there? That question became one of the seeds for Hunt for the Fallen Star — the first book in the Quantum Trek series, where three people from Earth discover an alien spacecraft and end up on the far side of the galaxy with no idea how to get home.
I have a commercial helicopter pilot certificate, black belts in taekwondo and Haidong Gumdo (a Korean sword style), a master's degree in cybersecurity, and sixteen-plus years in IT. I've lived on three continents, visited the Gobi Desert, walked the Great Wall of China, and built forts with my brothers using our Star Wars and G.I. Joe figures for what felt like most of my childhood. I still have a lot of those toys.
The Night Blade on the cover of Hunt for the Fallen Star is modeled after my own sword. My name is actually engraved on the blade.
I write stories my whole family can enjoy — clean adventures with real stakes and characters who feel like people you'd actually want to know. My family has read them all. They're already asking for the next one.

I was lucky to win Hunt for The Fallen Star as a Goodreads giveaway. While this type of novel isn’t typically my vibe, I thoroughly enjoyed reading it! The authors attention to detail had me feeling like I was right there alongside Casey, James, and Heather. I’m definitely looking forward to the rest of the series. Congratulations the author on a great first fiction novel!

An enjoyable read! Lots and lots of action, interesting characters, good pacing and a compelling ending. Also a nice book to be able to recommend to the younger readers in the family.

It has the potential to be a decent series.
