"Undead England – Stoke-on-Trent" is a grotesque tale of the unexpected horrors in a world where hell comes to earth.
I have read a lot of this style of fiction and it is with regret that I say “back to the drawing board”. I found this book unreadable after 4 chapters the character building was almost non existent, the story line had so many holes it was like a colander, the action and suspense was just not there. I feel very cruel to the author giving this review as I appreciate the hard work that goes into creating a book, but the bottom line is this book is just not very good.
Narrator was just average. I stopped the book at 2:02 into it. It was just boring, no way I'm listening to the full 6:17.
There's just no drama to anything that happens. He made hiding from zombies and fighting to find his gf boring. What was even her great hiding spot?????
In The Dead Rise, the peaceful city of Stoke-on-Trent is plunged into chaos as the dead begin to rise. Ordinary supermarket worker Adam Grear must fight to survive while protecting his girlfriend, Amy. Along the way, he encounters a mix of survivors, including soldiers and strangers, all struggling against an unthinkable nightmare. With relentless tension and a haunting race against time, this gripping tale explores the thin line between life and death in a world where survival is never guaranteed.
Thhis book shares a chilling take on the zombie genre, influenced by its authentic British era scenaries and relatable characters. It's a solid, atmospheric read for fans of survival horror and those looking for a fresh, local twist on a familiar theme 👏
